Negative experience: Tried taking my disabled son here. Staff were extremely unhelpful and unfriendly. Took 10 minutes of waiting to find out that he can only use the gym for 45 minutes immediately after school or during a small window at the weekend. The staff member didn't care when my son got upset. Also bear in mind that BHlive have an appalling reputation and are very aggressive including threatening debt collectors. Avoid.

Positive experience: Great range of classes, good gym, swim/steam/sauna and cafe!

Positive experience: A really great gym and pool but sadly also a really grotty steam room, let’s the whole place down. Needs urgent updating or we and others we have spoken with may go elsewhere as it’s quite unpleasant to have rust dripping down the walls and grease on the seating area. Please do something! Other than that one issue it’s a great place with friendly staff

Positive experience: The pool is a bit small and cold, but the kids did enjoy the wet and wacky hour they had there.

Negative experience: I booked a class at this gym for the first time and arrived over 5 minutes late. When I walked over to the reception I was rudely told that I’m late and that I won’t be let in. I just had a baby and had arranged childcare to attend this class but was made very unwelcome and zero effort was made to accommodate this circumstance. Won’t be coming back here again.

Positive experience: Love the aqua class but water too cold and deep , I'm doing whole class on tip toes , which isn't right . I'm 5ft 3in

Negative experience: Yoga and body balance classes oversubscribed. Very difficult to book spaces even a week ahead at 7am.

Fantastic experience: Gym doesn't get to busy, machines are great. the sauna and the steam room are a 10 out of 10. Could do with a couple more benches but still gets a 5 from me.

Negative experience: Very tired and in need of a lot of work. The class and spin studios were decent and the gym equipment looked good. However, the pool was not warm enough and the changing rooms were freezing cold. We have decided not to join as the local leisure centre is cheaper and nicer. Very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Just been to the swim & chill session. Water temperature a perfect 29°, great music, friendly staff and the showers were hot and clean afterwards. I'll be back!

Positive experience: The changing rooms are freezing, and the lockers need a padlock rather than the usual key (which is awkward if you've never been before and don't know). The pool is reasonably warm. There is a sauna and a steam room.

Positive experience: Visited with family to the wet and wacky session, which the kids enjoyed. Facilities seem generally good, but the showers seem to be very low water pressure, so showing afterwards takes a very long time.

Fantastic experience: Jo was absolutely brilliant- with great knowledge of the affected areas and ensuring the pressure applied wasn’t overly uncomfortable I came away feeling much better. Jo also took the time to suggest exercises I can do to prevent an injury like this occurring again. Can’t recommend her and ACE Therapy enough!!

Positive experience: Great gym facilities, fun classes, nice pool only down side the showers in the changing room aren't great.

Negative experience: We took the family here swimming today, the changing rooms were absolutely filthy. The floors were dirty, there were mounds of dirt around the legs of the benches in the cubicles. My husband had the unfortunate experience of lifting the seat in the showering area and bugs came crawling out! The reception staff were polite and helpful but the lifeguard that was watching the swimming session had a face like a wet weekend. Her and her colleague were quite unprofessional when telling us we weren't yet allowed in the pool (after the reception staff had told us we were fine to go in). The pool itself didn't seem clean, there were tiles missing and the grout and drains were stained. We will not be visiting here again and I would not recommend it! I forgot to add, the showers at the edge of the pool make an awful screeching sound when turned on, we asked the lifeguard about it and she shrugged her shoulders and said "yeah, they are broken, they do that."

Positive experience: I went back to swimming a month ago. The centre has everything marked out with a one way system in and out. The pool is separated into 3 lanes. I felt comfortable with the set up and am delighted to be back getting the exercise. The centre however seems very quiet compared to the way it was before lock down.

Fantastic experience: So happy to be back. Aqua fit, yoga, Pilates and swimming every week makes things almost feel like life is normal. A big thank you to the staff fir being so kind and welcoming.

Negative experience: I have had numerous problems since leaving the gym with constant reminders for payment even though I am no longer a member. I gave the required notice and paid on time. I have sent screen shots and emails of my cancellation and still I am getting demands for payment I joined the same day as my niece and we cancelled on the same day to go elsewhere as we couldn't book on to the classes and found a lot of people would book places and not turn up. When you call the gym they just say it's nothing to do with them as another company deals with the cancellation and direct debit side. Not impressed spending my evenings sorting this out and getting nowhere.

Negative experience: Long term issues with plumbing & shower failure have gone beyond tolerable. It epitomises an attitude of day to day care that is no longer worth the monthly cost. Poor willingness to show any understanding of disruption beyond platitudes with the excuse "it affects so many people, why should we do anything for you." A very disappointed long term (ex) user.

Positive experience: Great staff, facilities and views, lots to like.

Negative experience: Agree about the lack of cleanliness. Also bully tactics of Debit Finance when I cancelled outside of contract period. Proof of cancellation provided but still added extra fees for their admin.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym, very quiet, reasonable prices for membership

Negative experience: An ok gym let down by some rude staff, dreadful maintenance and cleaning. Cobwebs and dirt everywhere. Equipment regularly out of service for weeks. Staff are no doubt let down by the IT systems and constrained by budgets. But maintenance need a kick. The pool is frequently out of service, so check before you go.

Negative experience: This gym is filthy. I’ve been to a lot of gyms over the years and I have never experienced anything like it. There are products available to wipe the machines yourself after use but that’s not enough. There is an obvious lack of basic cleaning. The floors and machines are all thick with dirt grim and dust. Do yourself and your health a favour. Pick a different gym!

Negative experience: The floors are always unclean except in the reception area the equipment is poor throughout so hard to train. Not even bands!!! Pretty sure it's exactly the same inside when it was virgin!!! just shows the investment made. Will not be signing up again

Negative experience: Decided to try this venue for the first time as all the machines at Pelhams are STILL offering no tv or internet, so was looking forward to ones that work properly. What are the chances that the LF machines here have had the same issue for weeks? Unable to log in. Unable to connect bluetooth headphones. Unable to basically use the screen as usual. I was already aware the pool is out of action, (so thats not an issue), but this just smacks of a total lack of maintenance, and lack of customer care. The pleasant receptionist advised that it is "in hand", but that seemed the buzzword at Pelhams yesterday too, and now I'm wondering if all the BHLive sites are suffering. How long before we are offered discounts or extended memberships because of the lack of what we signed up for. This needs sorting out. And urgently!

Negative experience: Dirty and disgusting place to go the floor is never clean there are build ups of dust in the corners because the staff never really hover properly. The staff there are rude always sitting talking to themselves and ignoring customers when they are stood there it’s really un professional. For one example I asked the so called pt if he was using an area in the quad he said no but because he had a class in there if you can call it that more like a muck around I couldn’t go in there I pay for my member ship like everyone else what a very childish thing to do. The cafe is not good at all the most of the stuff on the menu they don’t serve one time I asked for something and the women told me sorry I’m not meant to be working behind here very good service of course. All the skirtings are dirty and coming away the maintience person has sealed on top of the dirt really good workman ship there. I know you will be able to see my name from this I’m glad hopefully you sort out your act for everyone’s sake.

Fantastic experience: Great and friendly staff at all times. Helpful when having a query. Love the cafeteria. Great coffee and snacks. Lovely staff. Parking in the car park under the trees a bit of a risk as the trees are not well maintained. Once a little branch fell on my roof (soft roof). So I don't park there anymore. Don't know who is responsible for the trees

Negative experience: The club is dirty, the machines are seldom cleaned and thats when they are working, many times over 20% are broken. One cross trainer has never worked since the opening of the club despite being reported many times one treadmill has been out of action for four months and all they do is keep changing the notice saying its only just been reported. The temperature of the gym varies depending on which staff are working. The duty managers are lazy and don't seem to care, the do not manage the centre at all well. The place is a complete shambles. After meeting the Area Manager and also exchanging several emails the standards have not improved, it is not being run as a professional health club.
