Positive experience: Its OK, nothing fancy. I have played on the astro, not a fan of the surface but it does a job. Shame to see facilities not being used properly due to funding.

Negative experience: Not surprised it’s going to be shutting down when they just let people park all over the basketball court, the only facility I used. Absolute Joke

Negative experience: I called reception up to see if myself and my 2 children was able to do the rock climbing wall, got booked in over the phone. Turned up to be told the instructor had to pop out and would t be longer than 30mins… He turned up 2 HOURS LATER, to be told sorry we cant do it! Can’t fault the receptionists as they gave us a whole sports hall to ourselves and set up badminton and also ga e us a football to play with. We won’t be returning, thats for sure!

Fantastic experience: Amazing sports center!! They are a sports center that caters for everyone. Q.E has all your average facilities you would expect but... there is a roped climbing wall and boulder room! And the wall staff are great! Even Scuba diving courses are held in the pool! The saunas are spacious and always kept nice and hot. There really is something here for everyone of all ages, abilities and intrestes

Negative experience: Based on the gyms themselves, not great. Very few weight machines and they're all really old, no hip abduction machines which is a bit rubbish. Very cramped in the weight room too so you can't fully use the machines when theirs lots of other people, partly due to bad layout. Cardio room is a bit better with more space but still not alot. Some of the machines are newer in there and some aren't so best go when it's quiet to use the newer ones that are less clunky. Changing rooms, most the lockers were broken and it was generally a bit dirty. Opening times are ridiculous, changing timetables every 2 weeks and theirs lots of times you can't go because of the school which is ridiculous because the paying customer should be prioritised and given the most opportunity to attend to make up the cost. It is majorly over priced for the quality of it but I guess it gets away with it because it's one of the only ones in the close area and doesn't have competition however I should note, my gym in Kensington London is state of the art at £17 a month, 24hrs a day. The only good thing was the staff who seemed pretty knowledgeable and super friendly. It's my last resort gym, I refuse to pay monthly for it it's not worth it but it does in a pinch when I'm this way and need a session ASAP.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff good location

Negative experience: Travelled a long way to watch hockey on a cold day yesterday and found both the hot drinks and food machines out of order - but no one seemed to care - very poor!

Positive experience: Only ever used the swimming facilities, but they're proved very well and the pool is nice and clean and in good condition. Me and my son love it.

Fantastic experience: All the staff 100%, funded perfectly well by East Dorset Council but not by Dorset Council when they took over.

Negative experience: The whole place is just a bit run down. The astro pitch is splitting and you can see the joins in the surface, there are holes in the fence around the pitch, the boarding is rotten in places and one of the dugouts is leaning over and the bench is missing. Investment is required to bring the facilities up to scratch

Negative experience: I attended this location as a toy fair vendor. Although a reasonable day's trade was had, we were very disappointed that no catering seemed to be available at all, not even a drinks machine. Also the rear car park had a lot of pebbles and stones over the asphalt making the moving of trolleys very awkward. Surely a caretaker could sweep these stones back over the vehicle spaces and off the thoroughfares prior to events!

Positive experience: After more than 2 years, I have been able to get back into the Swimming Pool again this morning! I'm disabled and swimming is therapy as much as enjoyment for me! They have a great Hoist for Wheelchair Users or other people with disabilities and the Team are at Hand at need! With a friendly smile at the Entrance desk, the welcome of the Team at the Pool Side, I feel happy and excited right away and take as much time as possible in the preheated water! Unfortunately it was a little colder today, then the last time.. 2 weeks ago... Hence I had to get out of the water earlier, as began to get the shivers! Perhaps the QE Team can heat the water a little earlier and then we can have a little more time to relax in the water! I can recommend this Centre and the Team to anyone who loves sports and some fun and needs some therapy in all kinds of ways!

Positive experience: Male toilets could do with a refurbish. It's a bit grim under the urinals. Also a lot of equipment is broken and seems to make a lot of weird noises when running on the treadmills. Classes are pretty good. Not very consistent with gym instructors but still good fun.

Negative experience: Having made a complaint and met the appropriate manager, I have come to realise that the Q.E. Leisure Centre Organisation has become too large to actually listen to fair and legitimate comments made by their fee paying members. Listening carefully and exercising a common sense approach are such important skills. Very disappointed. Jane Benson

Fantastic experience: Our boy started out marshal arts here once a week. Later we went swimming as well. Now looking at joining the gym. Clean facilities, priced fairly, very friendly staff, free parking, so far not overcrowed whenever we've been there. The pool is a 25m lap pool closed off for swimming for everybody now and then. Didn't stop our boy. Had great fun.

Fantastic experience: QE Leisure Centre is a busy local sports and lifestyle institution serving its diverse community of young and old. The facilities are modern, clean and well maintained. The staff are professional, friendly and welcoming. There are indoor and outdoor courts and pitches, a small swimming pool, gymnasium and a café. Notably, QE hosts "The Edge" Dorset's premier indoor climbing venue with over 300 square metres of climbing catering for all abilities. There is an abseiling platform, 25 numbered panels with 70 graded routes and a separate bouldering cave.

Fantastic experience: My son takes swimming lessons here. It can be hot some days in the viewing balcony, just needs to leave the door open. Shower rooms are standard but got everything you need after a swim. Ladies at the front desk are always helpful with a smile. Cafe next door, brilliant! Lots of other things to do here which we haven't tried.

Positive experience: Had a great inflatables party for my 4 year old daughter, bouncy castles were great and so was the hall. Let down by the staff who were supposedly there for me to be able to realax and enjoy the party but was given 2 teenagers who did not speak to me, turned up late and basically stood next to the bouncy castle. The area given to eat was ok but there was not enough room for 20+children and their parents to eat and the chairs were very grubby. Good value for money but i guess u get what u pay for.

Positive experience: I only use the climbing wall at this facility so cannot give a representative view of the rest of the centre. Climbing wall is pretty fair with some features built-in. Beware to check before committing to an evening session at the wall, as there are various club sessions operating three times a week in the evenings during school term time.

Fantastic experience: Easy parking, friendly and helpful staff. The centre is fairly modern with a good climbing wall with around 20 different climbs. Equipment in good condition and a great day was enjoyed.
