Negative experience: If I could leave 0 stars for this gym I would at this stage of proceedings. In the years that I have been a member of Nuffield Bromley the membership fees have done nothing but increase whilst the facilities and range of classes have done nothing but decrease in quality and quantity. Popular classes that made me want to become a member of the gym have been axed with no like for like replacement offered, there is no consistency in class structure between instructors who provide cover when others are away, female sauna has been in and out of action this year, shower cubicles are dirty, lights in the car park have been broken for almost a year posing a significant health and safety risk. Not acceptable for the money they charge. Of late, they’ve also implemented a load of completely ludicrous rules about no bags being allowed in the studios with the expectation that everybody uses unfit for purpose lockers. They also seem to like to tell paying members when they can and cannot attend the gym due to local football matches affecting their car park usage. Completely unacceptable. Have sent an email to cancel my membership and as of yet am still waiting for an acknowledgement /response to this.

Negative experience: The changing room was so cold and this is not acceptable. The ladies sauna has been out of action for 2 weeks. We are paying a lot of money for facilities . We are not getting.

Negative experience: Called to ask whether that was a club I could attend based on my membership. The lady said she didn’t know and didn’t try to find the answer for me. She then hang up on me when I expressed that I felt the customer service was poor. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Negative experience: The gym is poorly layed out, creating a hazard when working out and moving about. Even worse are the staff, you can't even speak to the reception team. They were all having a chat and I needed assistance, but they completely ignored me and continued with their conversation. Absolutely disgraceful. I would not recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: I’m really enjoying Deborah M body pump and stretch and mobilise classes on a Monday night. Her pump class is really hard work, but she is really encouraging and puts a lot of effort into making the class fun. I really appreciate her correcting me if I am doing something wrong to avoid injury. I love the stretch class and always come out feeling well stretched and relaxed after the singing bowls. She’s a great trainer!!

Negative experience: The steam room stinks. Pool temperature keeps going down below national requirements. No more dances classes like free style dancing with Hannah and safari dance. It would be good to have some cultural dances like safari and bollywood zumba. Car park is awful with lots of puddles, disable car park very narrow, struggle to get out of car if another car is parked to your drivers side. Anyway the whole car park needs redoing with tar and marking as car getting bigger as well. The only speaker used for aqua zumba is not good anymore, yet there is delays in replacing this £10 speaker. Singing bowls meditation bowls went missing and class was not as good because of this. What’s going on in this Bromley Nuffield

Negative experience: The temperature in the ladies changing room is never warm at the best of times but this week has been running at 16C which when you come out of the pool and showers is far too low. When i asked reception they said there are no heater in there so there was nothing they could do. This needs looking into yrgently

Positive experience: Really friendly staff like Salif, who is very welcoming to everyone & tries to help with any queries, optimistic & has regards for everyone. A very nice guy. The gym itself is clean with good equipments & a good environment to workout. Great location with easy access.

Negative experience: If you or your family want to work out safely, DO NOT go to the Bromley branch. The gym has a handfull of squat racks, benches, and a decent number of dumbbells, but they are all crammed in a tiny room that gets full very quickly at peak times. So if you want to do weight training, be ready to try your luck for over £100 per month. 1. You can not adjust your weights in your squat rack while someone else is exercising in any of the adjacent racks due to the distance between your barbell and theirs, which is a huge hazard. 2. The benches are placed so closely together that there is no space to walk to get your own weights without bumping into someone in the benches, which can injure them and you. 3. Their PTs do not care either because if a member drops the weight on another member, the liability is on the person dropping the weight, not on the GYM. Apart from the bad conditions, the support for members is a big issue as well with the Bromley branch. When i registered, my account was never activated, so my app never worked, and i could never book any of the classes via the app. I have tried complaining at the gym, and then they gave me a number to call that did not work. I made a formal complaint to their email, which was ignored, and i never got my account sorted. Lastly, when trying to cancel my membership, in their website, they state that the only way to cancel your membership is by sending an email directly to your club, but the email for the club is not provided in the website, so you have to call the club to ask for the email to then send an email, or go to the club to ask for the email. Clearly, Nuffield Health makes it very easy for anyone to join their clubs, but they have absolutely zero care or respect for their members after they join and make it as inconvenient as possible to terminate the membership.

Fantastic experience: This is the first time I’ve ever written a review on Google, but I feel compelled to do so because of how deeply impressed I am with Salif. I’ve visited over 20 Nuffield Gym locations, and never have I encountered someone as exceptional at their job as Salif. He goes above and beyond his duties, setting a standard that’s truly inspiring. The locker rooms and showers are always spotless, and it’s clear to see the dedication he puts into his work. Beyond his remarkable attention to detail, what truly stands out is his attitude. Salif always has a smile on his face and takes the time to greet members warmly. He even knows some of the regulars by name, creating a sense of community that’s rare to find. Salif is the perfect example of someone who not only commits to their role but excels in it with passion and excellence. He’s a credit to the gym, and his efforts do not go unnoticed. Well done, Salif—you truly make a difference!

Negative experience: Very rude staff on the floor and when I complained about an incident of staffs rudeness to the deputy manager, she just didn’t care at all. It shows why staff doesn’t care. If this is how managers are behaving. I go to other branches for Nuffield, they have so much better attitude towards customers.

Negative experience: I’ve decided to leave Nuffield Bromley after been a member for more than 15 years. It’s very busy in the free weights area even during off peak times. I do not recommend this gym as there are better gyms nearby.

Negative experience: Some good classes but always long waitlists for the ones I can do. Not very family friendly - all the parent parking gets abused and the members that do it are abusive and the staff do nothing about it. I’ve pointed out to reception when work vans are in the bays and the girls on the desk just look at you like you’re a problem they don’t need. Mums are always moaning about this in the changing rooms. The car park has huge holes and overflow is awful for low cars which is probably why some of them do it. Had swimming lessons cancelled on the day with no text/phone call so turned up and changed children. Cafe is a missed opportunity - could be so much better. Last coffee I paid for there was a cup of foam - never again. It also constantly serves in takeaways and plastic when you eat in. Members are supposed to be surveyed but never had one. Hear better things about Virgin Active who are also offering Reformer Pilates which Nuffield do not so going to move to them.

Negative experience: Nice enough but children can only go in 10:00 till 12:00. Children were so exited to go in then they said you only have 8 minutes to swim because it was 11:52 so we had to go all the way home and it is summer all they wanted to do was swim when it was hot but they couldn’t

Positive experience: Nuffield Bromley needs to sort its class timetable out. Nuffield Bromley is a great club, I love the classes and the instructors who are the clubs greatest asset. But lately there have been some poor decisions made regarding the timetable which has resulted in some instructors leaving their classes. Members don’t know what is going on or why decisions have been made, I was told that members are surveyed twice year, I’ve been a member for years but have yet to receive a survey. Emails and letters to management or the timetable manager go unanswered, after much chasing I received a phone call today. Members need to be treated with more respect, we pay for a service but regrettably we are let down by the centre’s management.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member on and off over the years since it was Canons. I recently rejoined my local work Nuffield which gives me access to this place. I attended for my first visit in about 3 years today and…Oh. My. God.. Why Nuffield, why? Why does the gym area and men’s changing rooms smell so badly of BO and sweat? It hits you on arrival like a Tyson Fury left hook. Are there no cleaners? Please take some pride in this place. It has so much potential. The place is in REALLY BAD need of updating. Would love for a Nuffield team member to respond and tells us if there are any plans to renovate this place and what the future holds. It’s sad to see. It used to be such a classy place, but with the new gyms opening in the area at 50% less fees I reckon this will be sold to developers in the not too distant future Nuffield, you need to invest in this site the recent poor reviews don’t lie. Luckily I’m on a monthly rolling contract so no tie ins. I’ll post a further update in 3 months for any perspective members.

Positive experience: I go to the gym for a free move together program and I think it's a really good opportunity for kids to work out and have fun. I think it would be good to go to if you fit the age range (11-16) as there arent a lot of free opportunities like this one.

Negative experience: I go to the Nuffield in Bromley and it is absolutely appalling. When I first joined the centre in 2022, I was informed that the jacuzzi was "temporarily out of order"; only after joining was I informed by other members of Nuffield that this was ongoing deception from the staff and that the jacuzzi had in fact been out of order for months. Now, the jacuzzi is now no more. To add a minor addition to these issues, I have noted that the television has been removed from the changing rooms, the egg timer in the sauna always gets stuck, and the lockers are always on low battery. The lockers are now being replaced with padlocks, which the gym have failed to inform members about; which member’s are now forced to buy padlocks on arrival. . The state of the decor and changing rooms are also disgusting. On a more positive note, I have to say that the majority of staff are always incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. It is a shame that these staff members fantastic work ethic are overshadowed by such poor availability in services. What I think is most poor is that I sent an email to management on October 11th 2023, expressing my concerns. I again sent emails on 20th October 2023 and 8th January 2024, asking for a response to my first email. All emails have been ignored. I have also written a formal complaint on the Nuffeild website, which I heard nothing from. Whilst I appreciate that I do not pay the full price as to what other members pay, I would still argue that it is an expensive service you provide. Furthermore, on behalf of the people who do pay full price, they are being beguiled even more than myself. I understand that occasionally some of the facilities will need maintenance and will need to be temporarily out of service. I also understand that we have entered a cost of living crisis, therefore your bills would have increased. I do not however understand how your facilities are out of service so frequently and you continue to charge people the same amount of money. I also think it is appalling that management refused to respond to me. I regret to say, but I have had friends, family and colleagues ask me if I would recommend Nuffield Fitness Centre to them, which I have responded by saying that I would not. I have also had many discussions with other members, in which many of us agree that the services provided are not worth the money and that we are looking to go elsewhere. Nuffield Bromley is in an incredibly convenient location for me, therefore I am reluctant to change gym, however I am close to doing so.

The spa pool has been removed, we are sorry for the delays in removal and replacement with poolside showers (the initial plan was for replacement, but our central office has made the final decision to remove this feature from all our clubs, in early 2023). We are now phasing out the number pad lockers (as advised in signage in the changing rooms) and moving to padlock mechanism. With regards to the décor, a specialist company will be completing works in the coming months. Once dates have been confirmed, we will advise members. Negative experience: Awful club. It's falling apart and the membership prices are extortionate. Air con never works. The microphones and speakers are always breaking, and the pool closes almost every day. The studios are filthy with hair and dirt everywhere, which is never cleaned. The gym space is tiny, and the exercise timetable keeps changing every five seconds with no communications to members. Everyone is frustrated with the management and the organisation of the timetable as popular classes are being lost. The atmosphere is one of a fear culture with managers peering in on instructors to make sure they take a register and start on time to the second, which is visibly stressing out the poor hardworking, severely underpaid instructors. Staff walk through classes while they are running, and even bring in maintenance to do drilling during a class! This is so dangerous and disruptive Don't listen to biased reviews from family members of the managers saying how amazing this place is - every member I speak to is frustrated and annoyed with the recent changes and chaos.

Negative experience: LACKS VALUE for returning members. The mens changing room has a REPUGNANT SMELL, despite being charged an astronomical £20 GUEST FEE by an amateur member of staff who clearly couldn't manage the intimate space in the reception area. I can attest that this site does NOT meet the criteria and expectations of a TIER ONE CLUB and is miles apart from other clubs I frequent.

Negative experience: The gym is really badly run. The swimming pool is often closed for several days, the changing rooms are tired, mouldy (see photos) and very dirty. The changing rooms don’t seem to be ever cleaned and the lockers are appalling - the closing mechanisms is hit and miss and they are so dusty and dirty that it’s really unpleasant to put my clothes in there. No towels so you have to bring your own. The reception team is not friendly. Something is constantly broken - the air conditioning often doesn’t work. The only saving grace are the classes. The instructors are excellent and if it wasn’t for that, I would have not joined. You have to be constantly on top of classes and book way in advance otherwise you won’t get in. Really it should be properly renovated but high membership fees do not seem to be used to give value to the members. In the space of one and a half week the pool has been closed 3 (!) times. See screen grabs confirming that. Nuffield Bromley like to play it down and do not refund you even when the pool is closed for the majority of the week.

Negative experience: The morning shift female receptionists in this gym are the rudest and least helpful and least knowledgeable people I have ever seen!! With miserable expressions and an actual inability to greet members. The good thing is the gym gets better once you are past reception ;) Other staff are nice, especially the cleaners, and the staff on the gym floor try hard to maintain the spaces well. Top tip for the manager: ask the Chislehurst branch weekend receptionist - who is absolutely delightful - to train the Bromley reception staff!!!

Negative experience: I joined with my wife and daughter because it’s close and has a pool. That’s the plus. The downside is the pool is almost always closed when I want to use it and although I have completed umpteen direct debits to the club, they only claim the money for my wife and daughter and then stop me entering the club every month! I have asked them time and again to deal with this but it means once a month I complete a new direct debit which they presumably lose. They did manage to take membership fees two months running from my account for a person with a similar name who lives at a different address! It took six months to get the money back! Appalling service. I’d go elsewhere if there was anywhere near with a pool!

Negative experience: I've been with this club for 2.5 years and it only gets worse. They close the main pool at least couple of times a week. 50% of the lockers are broken. There used to be free kids' access, they've ceased it. On top of that they increase prices yearly. Crowded, not the most friendly staff. If it wasn't 5 min walk from my house, I'd changed it long tome ago. If you have a choice do avoid this club.

Negative experience: They charge extremely expensive for a low range gym and a couple of not accessible classes. Jacuzzi has been closed for couple years now, and swimming pool hasn't worked for few weeks too. They promised it would be open last Friday, turned up there with there being a construction site. Absolute waste of money. People should be compensated for this month. Where is our money going? You don't go to a restaurant where they have nothing to offer and still leave you an expensive bill. Unless there's some changes or information out there for everyone as to how our money is spent and how you're improving your services; I'll be telling my family and all friends know to withdraw their memberships.

Negative experience: I wish I read the reviews here first before I joined. Luckily I’m on monthly rolling contract. I joined because of the yoga classes and their Personal Best Program. I can’t even book a yoga class even 2 weeks in advance. As for the Personal Best Program I’ve been trying to book this several times at the reception with no luck. Also, some of the gym equipments I want to use it’s always occupied as there’s only one available and the other equipment only 2 available. Waste of money!! Definitely will not recommend Nuffield Health Bromley.

Negative experience: Disappointed. My daughter was looking forward to use the facilities at Nuffield and use her friends guest pass as an insight to the gym as she was thinking of joining. I had a face to face conversation to the lady at reception to check this was allowed and confirmed to me that no adults were needed to be there. However, when they walked into reception without an adult (which was fine when we spoke) they then got turned away and were let down. The lady behind reception claimed that they had to have an adult with them and even though friends of my daughter have done it before it still was a no. This is foul and dishonest behaviour coming from the gym. We then received further information that all an adult had to do was drop them off at the door and let them be on their own in the gym, which goes against the reason they couldn’t go in by themselves.

Negative experience: Sorry I must downgrade my review again from 2 to 1, due to the continued lack of maintenance and the jacuzzi removal and putting the price up again! At the same time the chief executive doubles pay to £1.2m. (2003) Sorry I must downgrade my review from 4 to 2 it mainly because of the lack of maintenance and the jacuzzi being broken for almost a year and on top of that putting the price up! Not good!! Friendly staff and members, with good facilities, they could do with more early morning classes but overall it is a nice gym with nice people. I am looking forward to going back out of lockdown.

Negative experience: Really poorly run and maintained. The Pool is closed at least once a week lately. The steam room some days is luke warm at best and some of the lights have been broken in there for months. Often there is no hot water for a shower. The Jacuzzi has been closed for nearly 2 years with no communication as to why. You no longer get towels like you used to. If something breaks here it can take anywhere from 1-6 months to be fixed... All of this whilst they keep putting the price up. In general the place is a shambles. The only saving grace is the gym equipment is fairly decent, but even that is too busy sometimes to get on any of it. I wouldn't recommend it

Negative experience: Hi guys , would like to talk about Nuffield health bromley, I’ve been a member there for several years with a brake during pandemic obviously, and then back 2022 , biggest reason why I’ve joined them was the spa facility, as I’ve suffer from joint pain, the spa /jacuzzi has been out of order for over a year and I was always chasing them with updates on when the spa would be repaired and I’ve been told by some staff members that they were waiting for a better quote or parts always excuses like that , guess what around 2 months ago we’ve received emails telling us that the spa/jacuzzi would not be repaired at all as it was too expensive to run it and they would just scrap it spoke to the manager Mr Jason and he said that the spa was never going to be repaired they had no plan to put it back on , so they’ve sold an membership advertising the spa as part of the package even though they had no intention to get it working, so for obviously reasons I was mad about it and told Mr Jason that I wanted to cancel my membership straight away , he asked me to send an email and that I had to give a months notice or wait to the end of my contract , is it fare ? When I clearly like every other Nuffield Bromley member got lied about it ? For over a year waiting for the spa to fixed ? I’ve sent the email requested and guess what he completely ignored my obvious point and said that he couldn’t cancel my membership straight away due to nothing was broken or non functional for over a month so I had no right to cancel it he is right , not a month but over a year , not only the spa , the ceiling in not good condition with obvious lack of maintenance on the changing rooms , sofas and seats on the restaurant area ripped or cracked , toilets , steam room door wouldn’t lock properly for over a month on a clearly easy to fix issue just not looking after , there is always something looks like they really don’t care and forget how much we pay for a membership, but the cherry on top was the lack of costumer service skills from Jason who not only been sarcastic with his answers and ignoring my obvious right to cancel my contract but also ignoring my many requests for an contact number for Nuffield’s regional manager , so he didn’t cancel my contact and is forcing me to wait till the end of my contract , just want to share this with you guys , I’ve heard from several members same complaints that I’ve made but most of them do t speak out but I had enough and will tell everyone I can about this disgusting situation. Avoid Nuffield Bromley and report what is happening there so who knows they may actually do something about it and show us some respect

Negative experience: Sad downhill trend, poor maintenance and hygiene. On my visit this morning, the men’s toilets were taped off, the floor tiles were cracked, jacuzzi is a building site, kids pool was out of action, and faulty locker locks locked me out. In addition to this they are busy reminding us of parking restrictions. In a place that’s 15 min walk from Bromley high street. The facilities pool and gym are still functional but the place looks like it’s being run into the ground.

Negative experience: Would recommend you to take your money elsewhere. Facilities are old, customer service is below good, gym managers are misrepresenting information when you sign the contract (whatever you discuss with them, make sure they put it in writing & sign with their name and date as this is what the management then requires), the pool not working on at least 12 occasions in the past 2 months (obviously that would be the day when you wanted to go, and sometimes you'd learn about it once you show up in the gym) and the management is offering compensation only when smth has been out of order for 30 _consecutive_ days (so, extremely convenient to have the pool out of order every other day).

Negative experience: A sad downhill trend. Since joining they have removed free towels, the have removed the spa, they have removed the drinking cups, they have removed plastic bags for swimming shorts. Most of the water fountains don’t work properly if at all. The pool is consistently broken, the Sauna has broken seating, the door doesn’t shut properly, at times people actually eat in the Sauna. Now the genius idea is to clean it in the middle of the day for 3 hours, even the most incompetent would realise it should be done in the morning or at night. The men’s lavatory facilities would be rejected in a secondary school with urinals detached from the walls at times and urine often on the floor. The men’s showers have little water pressure, have hooks missing, cracked tiles in cases and the area is cold. The steam room has a broken door and the so called Bar area is stocked to the equivalent of a North Korean Bistro. The staff in the actual gym never ever ask anyone if they need help, not once in the best part of 5 years have I had one of them ask if I needed any help in any way. That’s more or less it, and I don’t know what the women’s section is like.. Effectively you are paying 2 or 3 times what you would pay in a no thrills gym to go to a no thrills gym. Enjoy

Negative experience: Just visited for a potential signup. Jacuzzi will not be fixed as apparently it’s too expensive to maintain. On my trial, the pool is ice cold, has been since the cold snap according to other members. Only 2x squat racks so that will get busy even at off peak. Need to use my *home* gym 50% of time or I get told no access. Ridiculous. Paying these prices and then being forced to access in a very certain and specific way.

Negative experience: Facilities are really going downhill. Spa facilities almost permanently out of action. Men’s changing room has a very pungent smell and loose flooring. Gym also very dated and no towels provided when other branches have resumed this post covid. It’s good atleast to see the parking lot lights have finally been fixed following a year of complaints as my wife felt unsafe walking in dark. Come on management sort it out or charge the budget gym prices as that is the service you are providing!

Negative experience: Poorly lit car park , makes a women feel unsafe , reception don’t talk to you, changing room ceilings and air vents filthy .

Negative experience: Not enough equipment so full even when it's not a peak time and for what they're charging the quality of equipment is laughable, don't go to this gym.

Fantastic experience: Nice gym. It has swimming pools (one standard and one 0.75 m children pool), 4 squash courts, gym facilities, lessons, etc… child membership is also available. Bottle filling machine is available. There is also a cafe area, air conditioner is equipped. Free parking.

Positive experience: Not super modern or efficient but reasonably priced. However since Aug it has had a complete refurb with new kit so it is now modern and clean. Restaurant Service still needs some work

Negative experience: Gym equipment is decent. However, breakdowns in equipment are not dealt with quickly, and damaged equipment is often left for weeks without repair. Also, the men's toilets are very unhygienic, with constant overflowing that has not been properly fixed for the last 1 year.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the level of hygiene here and the lack of attention to detail. I also found the staff very dismissive when me and my wife brought this to their attention, staff management seem to young and inexperienced to manage a flag ship site on a road to ruin in our opinion, hence terminating our membership.

Negative experience: I am a member at Nuffield bromley but it’s getting to the point were I will cancel my membership soon due to the terrible Maintenance. The spa has been broken for half a year now and half the water fountain’s don’t work. Other stuff in there is always going wrong and it seem like they don’t want to pay out to fix issues but are happy to charge high rates for memberships and in return give you terrible facilities. Please fix these issues @Nuffiledbromley

Positive experience: Brilliant gym - just little curious why don’t Nuffield provide towels? All of there competitors give out towels and charge the same price for using the gym. Also maintenance is lacking. The jacuzzi isn’t working…

Fantastic experience: So many amazing classes. It is definitely the friendliest heath club I know. Best decision to restart after lockdown. I definitely recommend it for classes and kids swimming lessons. I don't do much else.
