Our comment from FitFit UK about Brio Leisure Frodsham Leisure Centre:
Brio Leisure Frodsham Leisure Centre is a local community asset that offers a variety of facilities and activities for all ages. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the range of fitness classes available, making it a great place to stay active. The gym is described as a great little space that is often quiet, perfect for those looking to work out without the crowds. Additionally, many users enjoy the squash courts and the sports hall, which provide excellent opportunities for engaging in various sports like badminton and volleyball.
However, some visitors have noted areas for improvement. The football pitch has faced criticism for safety concerns and conditions, while other facilities are described as tired and in need of refurbishment. Although there are no swimming pool facilities available, the overall experience remains positive thanks to the dedication of the staff and the variety of classes offered. The centre also hosts community events, which helps foster a sense of belonging among locals.
In summary, while Brio Leisure Frodsham is a bit dated and could benefit from updates, it remains a valuable resource for the community, providing essential leisure services with a welcoming atmosphere.
Services, Machines and Guided Classes
Brio Leisure Frodsham Leisure Centre: Opinions
Negative experience: The football pitch is a disgrace
Positive experience: Everything you need from a leisure centre
Positive experience: Great little gym, evenings are relatively quiet so new queuing for machines, more than enough free & machine weights to go around
Positive experience: Tired and dreary. The staff were helpful when I was here for some training. The training room was decent size and set up well. The gym facilities seemed okay but the building in general was looking sad and tired and in need of a refurb.
Fantastic experience: Excellent performance by LUMA Creations, keeping year 2 pupils enthralled, with their magical story telling and puppetry. Lovely music too.
Negative experience: The staff and gym need to be careful with letting children use all the weights unsupervised after school, all it takes is one of them to seriously injure themselves. Just because there’s a no 16s past this point sign doesn’t mean they listen, it needs to be enforced.
Fantastic experience: Fab
Fantastic experience: Nice facilities... Played badminton, floor had v good grip, lighting a bit tricky at times. Great for the community!
Negative experience: Turned into a youthclub
Positive experience: Great never busy good value
Fantastic experience: Just dropping someone off at the doctors on the same site.
Fantastic experience: Good facilities.. has squash courts
Positive experience: Some great classes, plenty of parking, friendly staff. Only downside is the terrible spin bikes - screens don’t work on most of them, very difficult to adjust to your size and much too easy to accidentally change the resistance with your thighs if you’re not stick thin. It wasn’t that long ago they were upgraded but we’re definitely a poor choice. It’s a good job the instructors are so great to make up for it!
Fantastic experience: We go here every Wednesday for Bolts Stake School skateboarding lessons. My daughter loves it.
Negative experience: 2 hours queue and santa didn't give my son a present.
Positive experience: Frodsham Volleyball Club welcomed us superbly. The lighting in the sports hall was very strange though...
Positive experience: Very disappointed to find out there is no baby changing facilities at Frodsham Leisure Centre
Positive experience: Easy to get to, staff is really nice. There were 2 squash courts, gym that is quite new. Walking distance to the train station and the town area, plenty of parking space
Fantastic experience: Great facility. friendly staff. Loads of fitness classes so top marks. Could do with more fans though for when it's warm.
Fantastic experience: Very good
Fantastic experience: Considering the age of the building and some of the facilities, the centre is doing great. Thanks to good management and dedication of the staff, it is a excellent place to keep fit. It all helps no doubt with the community wellbeing and a healthy life style.
Fantastic experience: Actually visited the LIBRARY in same building.Library is very good with helpful assistants.Visit regularly.
Fantastic experience: We went to the Saturday night roller disco my daughter had such fun. Definitely be going back
Fantastic experience: Played a badminton match here nice place
Fantastic experience: Nice place for kids activities
Positive experience: A local community asset which features both the leisure facilities and the fantastic Frodsham library. The leisure side has its limits but there's a sports hall, squash courts, classes and a gym. Outside their is an all weather football pitch. With the right investment from the council this place could really shine.
Positive experience: Cane here for work. Looks tired and worn.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful
Fantastic experience: It wasnt the leisure centr but the library attached.brilliant for kids and with kids.
Fantastic experience: Excellent now we have new spinning bikes! Friendly and helpful staff too.
Fantastic experience: Hard work, but great facilities and friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Been just once- looked like a nice place for kids to excercise and play
Positive experience: Fab little gym with great classes
Fantastic experience: Great facilities, friendly helpful staff
Positive experience: Excellent equipment and classes, toilets could be updated
Positive experience: Enjoy the activities
Fantastic experience: A very busy town regarding the traffic but very picturesque and historical. I went to Newton Hall Children's Home to lay some ghosts to rest from when I was a child. It is quite amazing how it still looks as it did in the early 70s. Will be going back some time. Happy and sad place to see again.
Positive experience: I visited here so my son could use the skate room. Staff are pleasant and helpful.
Positive experience: I attend to play badminton with my eldest. We never have any issues the staff are helpful and we get onto court promptly but the facilities are a little tired.
Positive experience: great place
Positive experience: It's a bit shabby as a venue but the friendly staff and atmosphere make up for that. I do classes all the time and such a lovely bunch of people to work out with.
Positive experience: Staff are very helpful but a bit run down
Fantastic experience: It is wonderful to go too
Negative experience: Need a pool
Fantastic experience: Great gym not too busy.
Positive experience: Expensive unless you're a member, and possibly even then. Suash courts pretty disgusting but only local ones available
Fantastic experience: Great
Positive experience: There is a large selection of sports to do there, they supply equipment and have vending machines. There is a large hall, squash courts, a gym and more.
Fantastic experience: Simon is one of the most helpful people I've met, gave great first aid and offered great aftercare. Thanks
Negative experience: Needs serious £ investment to bring it anywhere near today's min standards.. like a 4g football pitch, swimming pool and modernised changing facilities. Cheshire West council only invest in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Northich and Winsford. It doesn't put anything to smaller towns like Frodsham so unlikely to ever happen!
Positive experience: Great facilities. Open from 6.30am till 10pm
Positive experience: Great little gym often quiet perfect for an after work workout. Friendly and helpful staff. No swimming pool is the only downside.
Positive experience: Fair facilities and helpful staff, just a real shame there's no pool and no air con in the gym. Otherwise it's a bit time-worn, but functional and friendly.
Positive experience: Equipment needs updating but a nice facility nonetheless.
Negative experience: Dated and needs serious investment. Not up to par with modern leisure centres. UPDATE It's actually pretty unsafe. Pieces of metal sticking out on the football pitch. I'm surprised no one had hurt themselves.
Positive experience: Unfriendlybut short staffed
Positive experience: Competes
Fantastic experience: Good
Positive experience: Good facilities
Positive experience: We take our kids roller skating here onba Saturday. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
Positive experience: No swimming pool
Positive experience: Good children's football party, all the children seemed to have fun.
Positive experience: Good classes, good gym.
