Negative experience: First day in the gym was not good, I got there around 5:25 AM and gym was already crowded, not because there were many people but because gym is simply small. No windows gives the feeling of working out in a warehouse, a few large screens could bring some positive mood to this dark place. Most equipment were okay but just about average. Somehow management decided to do the cleaning right in the peak time when people use change rooms most. Cleaner was on his phone literally all the time that I was there. Showers were good but only 4 of them and all in black, shower in black? why?!!! Some of the lockers were broken and most of them were rusty and need to be painted. the best advantage of this gym is it's price and of course you get what you paid for. I just cancelled my membership and would not recommend this to anyone who can afford to pay a little bit extra.

Positive experience: Generally clean in the day. In the night time it’s quiet but can get quite messy. I often have to go certain times through the week because the new comers can take up the space and equipment with the membership first month offers, so it can be a bit of a pain having to go at 10pm or 4:30 am when it’s dead. To be fair though at those times is best because you basically have the gym to yourself and sometimes if you risk it on the odd day in the day. The music is way too loud I can hear it over my sound blocking air pods. The parking can get crowded at the busy hours to the point where you have to park at B&M. The staff are friendly and quite helpful, always have a smile and happy to help. The equipment is resourceful and usually is working quite well. The changing rooms are always clean and they lock them after a certain time with code entry so members feel more secure when getting changed at night time. The night cleaning staff spend their whole time on their phones while working. The flavoured water machine 8/10 works but when it doesn’t it’s out for days. It’s not the worst gym I’ve been to and they are good when you feel like you need to address issues and worries about incidents so their is that support from the staff for the customers. Not bad.

Positive experience: Great gym that’s open 24/7 Plenty of free car parking Everyone is welcoming and friendly I do miss the old equipment that had the fans built in. Only thing that lets it down is that it’s very dusty upstairs.

Positive experience: My visit today was to use the showers and for a quick workout. There is plenty of parking onsite available. There are a variety of different pieces of equipment available for all abilities. Staff are available during the day to provide assistance and advice, however I didn't need their assistance today. Changing room was clean and tidy and the showers had plenty if hot water. Overall it was a good experience. Will definitely come again

Negative experience: OMG what a disgrace to PureGym!!! First of: no WiFi for members and sport water refill machine Second: The equipment is outdated and some is missing and misplaced??? Dirty walls and floors because it's old not filthy. Highly disappointing place, what a pain to go there PLUS what is the Manager doing there? What a shame

Negative experience: Worst pure I’ve ever been in. If this was my home gym I’d cancel my subscription. Hardly any leg equipment, or equipment in general. 1 shower for all the men to use and even that was cold.

Negative experience: Disappointing. Lots of equipment was ‘out of order’ which meant the equipment that was working had queues of people waiting. Despite arriving at 05:20 the gym was busy

Positive experience: Decent gym has very busy periods hard to get on some machines.

Negative experience: Old and tired equipment. Maintenance seems to be an issue as machines are down for weeks at a time. Music sometimes far too loud, let's keep it ambient for everyone. Often flooded with newcomers taking up equipment as they use their free trial meaning dedicated paying members have to work around them even in early hours of the morning. People just do what they like in here and staff turn a blind eye. Nobody wiping down the equipment or being asked to put their weights back. Staff need to grow a pair!

Positive experience: Clean and well maintained gym, friendly helpful staff. Good amount of space in the gym and a big studio, it has everything you need to complete your workout. The equipment definitely could do with an update and a lot of space is unnecessarily given to cardio machines when the free weights area is much more popular and in need of more squat racks and benches.

Negative experience: Dated equipment went once and ended up walking out after 10 minutes

Negative experience: This puregym is one of the worst ones around if I'm being honest with you Comparing it to the other puregyms I've seen before. Paying 20 pound a month for the most out of date equipment and even sometimes dangerous equipment is a joke there is around 10 benches max wich is silly when most peak days there's 80 people in the gym so the chance of getting a bench is unlikely so more benches are needed also the equipment for each muscle group is minimal there is more treadmills then anything wich no one really uses. the lockers also never work as most of them are broken and even sometimes lock u out and the changing rooms also stink. I honestly wouldn't recommend this gym if u can travel to widnes puregym do as it has more newer equipment and is worth the money.

Fantastic experience: Its just gym like the same as popular one so if you complain about not be fully equipped or not enough staff to be honest we pay for it, for standardas we have., BUT the staff is lovely if you need anything, on the class they are motivate you. Thats why there iz 5 stars. Its just company that open gyms not so expensive though what is important..... is money but the stuff has passion to do so. Thats why i keep coming back hahah yes im on and off on gym

Negative experience: Paid for plus multi access, after less than 30 days over more than half the gym were removed from the access list, 2 that I needed, Sports water should be included, it was not, Customer service over Facebook is copy-paste, no one to talk or help you with issues,

Negative experience: If you can't control the weight on the decline then it's too heavy. People just throw weights around and nothing is said: there are no signs inforcing health and safety. Won't be long till someone gets seriously hurt and I hope this messages shows that management are liable.

Positive experience: Very clean lots of gear to train with and excellent air conditioning. Reason for 4 stars? Asked 3 times for towel hooks in the basin male wash area. Still no hooks. Boo hoo

Negative experience: Every time I have been(6am and 9pm) Its been rammed and not been able to use the machines i wanted. Membership cancelled, would NOT recommend.

Negative experience: The premises is on 2 floors and if it is a chest day then you have to go on both floors!! I don’t know why they didn’t put cardio machines in one place and resistance machine together in one place. Badly organised.

Negative experience: Under equipped with kit that’s a decade old and worn out. Plenty of better gyms within a couple mins drive, go elsewhere Edit: and the standard copy and pasted response from the gym owner stating they take on board feedback; now that’s not true at all. Been a member here for the last 10 years and nothing has changed at all.

Positive experience: Just joined, got a PT who is spot on !

Positive experience: Pros: Good facilities and plenty of choice, friendly staff, well stocked vending machines. Welcoming and not cold. Cons: Cleanliness of the cardio machines need a good clean. The fans are full of dust blowing in face. People cleaning their own machines are hit and miss and more should be done.

Positive experience: Its not the best kitted out gym with lots of wasted space. They could fit out with more and better equipment

Negative experience: The gym needs a full re vamp of equipment, all very dated now, its miles behind other big chains like JD gyms. Not enough benches at the free weights. Mirrors only go halfway along the wall at free weights. No mirrors at treadmills so you stare at a wall as you run. Gym needs improving

Negative experience: Probably last of the PureGym facilities left with no refurbishment. It looks so old and worn out like old school rough gyms. The community and the staff is outstanding. Janga sports water constantly out of juice giving me just tasteless water. Why am paying for the plus membership to even have it then? I am a bit more advanced with the training and there is just not enough equipment to try new things. Again. Gym looks old, rough, messy, for example dirty walls, dirty floors but not just because of lack of cleaning, it is because it is old and just looks disgusting. On top of that the disabled door is constantly broken and can be opened with a single push which makes me feel not safe at all as anyone can come in and out of the gym. Scary. Especially, i have seen people walking in like that. Such a disappointing that PureGym doesn't care about their members from Runcorn. If they don't have respect for us by leaving this gym out, I can guess that they are equally disrespectfull to others just not showing it in the gyms that make them the most money. Discrace PureGym

Positive experience: It's not a bad gym but it is in serious need of a revamp. I go to another pure which has just had a refurb and makes the runcorn gym look like the company has left it to rot in comparison. In general it is good although small and cardio machines to weights ratio heavily favours cardio... most machines never even used. A lot of the cables and weighted machines need maintenence and regularly screech or squeak when in use, some pulleys are rusted. Bearings in the Olympic bars seized. It has all the potential should the company spend the money and bring it up to date.

Negative experience: Lack of 'basic' equipment such as only one style of leg press machine, no calf machines, and lacking in features that most other gyms have such as mirrors at the dumbbells. For the price compared to other gyms in the area and other pure gyms across the country this one is seriously lacking.

Positive experience: Decent set of equipments, most people seem to clean up before and after as per covid-19 guidelines

Positive experience: As Pure Gyms go this is a little dated. Still worth the cost but in comparison to other Pure Gyms for the same cost it needs a little work to get another star from me. I do believe there will be a little make over later this year though

Negative experience: Poor selection of equipment,no preacher bench no wide grip bar for lats, hardly any mirrors so you're running looking at a wall. Hardly any mirrors by weights. Gave all this feedback but nothing changes. Cancelled membership now and I'm guessing when jd opens they'll lose loads of business.

Positive experience: Well this is a thankless task. I've been lifting things in here for a very long time now and all I've got to show for it is a direct debit.

Fantastic experience: Well layed out Pure gym with a good range of exercise equipment, set on two levels to maximise it's small size but benefits from a good range of free weights and a decent sized exercise studio.

Fantastic experience: Was warmly greeted by very friendly staff upon arrival, think they noticed straight away it was my first time, so the guy gave me a little walk around showing whats what and even helped me with the padlock for the locker. Cannot fault the place or staff, lots of equipment, clean dressing rooms, toilets and showers.

Fantastic experience: Busy at times but having the puregym app makes it easy,as you can check how busy it is before going. Also using the app to look for classes is great. The gym itself is a decent size. Equipment is always clean and the staff very helpful. I've been training with one of the PTs there,Lauren, and I highly recommend her. Very professional, always on time, she knows what to do and how to achieve it

Fantastic experience: If you want to get fit and not spend a lot of money this is the place. It's called the lower end of the gym market but I personally disagree, there's enough equipment hear to satisfy most people's needs, no swimming pool but there's a council run one down town go there for a swim. And remember if you are on a budget anything is good enough to sweat in, also you can sweat hear 24/7 no worries

Fantastic experience: Good gym. Open 24 hours and is cheap at £15 a month. Lots of parking on site. Great facilities. Lots of equipment. The only downside is the equipment is a bit dated, and there's always machines down when I visit. Otherwise it's spot on

Fantastic experience: Can go at any time, its fair to good on being clean, there is plenty of equipment about and the machines seem upto date and working. There maybe one or two things ie the odd emergency clip on the runners broke or at peak times its busy but your splitting hairs there really.
