Fantastic experience: That your membership can be used to access other gym locations is great. When working in BPC, I like to use this gym in preference to my local one. Convenient location, free parking, clean, good changing facilities, and there has always been space on the equipment at the times I go.

Positive experience: Bournemouth gym is closed due to refurb works, and this gym is the closest alternative. First impression is good. The gym seems fairly new or recently decorated. There are many machines but the free weights area is a bit too small in my opinion

Positive experience: The Gym Group is all that you expect from it. There is a decent variety of machines that allow you to hit many different muscle groups. While the Gym is not too busy during early and mid day hours, it does tend to get quite busy from 3pm onwards. Regarding my negative opinions, it has occasional issues with the Pods that allow access the Gym and I'm fairly certain it's body composition machine's accuracy is off. These issues are inconvenient however rarely cause anything greater that a slight annoyance. Overall, for the price of this gym, I don't have many complaints.

Positive experience: Good gym for the price and the range of equipment. But lack of gym floor space when classes are running and also the gym seems to be taken over by 16yr old boys who abuse the equipment and leave loaded weights everywhere.. Also the two pods to get into the gym are an absolute nightmare. During peaktimes you’ll be waiting 5/10 mins to get in and out. Or if one’s broken, just forget about leaving! But all in all, a good gym for £21 a month.

Fantastic experience: Been training at The Gym Poole for about a year now. The gym itself is tidy and clean and set out well. Changing rooms are spacious and always clean as well. The staff are always welcoming and say hello and I know I can go to them if I need help or have a question. Would highly reccomend for beginners as well as more experienced gym-goers!

Positive experience: Been going here for over a year, very well equipped and spacious. The high ceiling is good since it allows for better air flow which means it doesn't feel humid and warm indoor. Lots of equipment and free weight so it's easy to hit every muscle group. Only issue I have with it is the people recording themselves, had it before when a women got annoyed at me being in her shot. Think they need to ban recording unless it's against a wall in a secluded corner. Other than that, had a good year so far here and hopefully will for many more

Negative experience: Good gym and a nice big open space that makes it breathable but the staff working here are arrogant. No hello, no smile, give you the vibe that they own the place and you are invading their privacy.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with this gym - the kit is all very new and well maintained, the staff are all very friendly (they’re around but not super in your face) and there’s always loads of space with spare machines / benches / mats etc. The central functional rig, sled track and 2 x Olympic lifting pads/racks are much appreciated. Facilities are also great (toilets, showers, lockers etc) and always spotlessly clean which makes all the difference. We’ve given feedback in the past and it’s always been taken on board - which is honestly quite amazing for a large chain company. We’re very happy here and will continue as we are. We’ve been members of both Everyone Active Poole and Fitness First (now YMCA I believe) in recent years prior to joining here, and I honestly don’t think that for this value you can beat The Gym in Poole. Other gyms look so overpriced in comparison. Saying that, we don’t use the classes as we have a full programme ourselves, so the volume of classes at other gyms might be a slight advantage to some. Absolutely recommend !

Negative experience: Signed up for 1 month only in Aug 2023. Pay as you go, asked to not save my card details etc as I wanted to make sure I like it. Sept, Oct, nov and Dec they have taken 20 each month. That is theft!! They refuse to refund the 4 months they've been taking. Poor customer service too.

Positive experience: Went in the morning, fairly quiet which was nice but seemed to lack atmosphere. Not quite enough 25kg plates, had to wait for someone to finish squatting before could start deadlifting. Deadlift platforms need some tlc, they've got 'dents' where the plates sit which makes set-up uneven once you put more than two plates on each side. Equipment is in decent condition, although the machines provide a bit too much assistance. Seemed quite clean, was very tidy and weights were generally re-racked, although putting a 5kg under some 20 plates isn't sensible haha but that happens everywhere. Obvious staff presence, not a big deal for me but I know that'd make others feel safe. For me, I wouldn't become a member as got membership at other place which suits my needs better, but it's good for me to come and have a change of scenery every so often.
