Negative experience: Rude staff at gym entrance, women had a serious attitude problem. Also the place is never clean.

Fantastic experience: Victoria is an amazing swimming teacher who has taught both my children ( 7 and 11) for a number of years. She is fun and friendly. She is able to adapt her teaching style to suit different ages and abilities. It is obvious that she is passionate about what she does and the children's progression. Couldn't ask for a better teacher.

Negative experience: Very disappointed, it's 2 years that I am a member of this leisure centre, and never had big big issues, apart sometimes to book some class, or some uncertain information from someone of the staff, but recently I find very uncomfortable to use the gym (main reason why I am a member), it's frozen! I can understand with a hot weather sometimes,but since end of October started to be very cold outiside, and I complained more than one time, never taken any action, because it continues to be very cold inside, that's why I am writing a review today. Recently the ac was so strong that every time I am using running machine or bicycle I started to have strong headache or pain in my neck, and I need to go away,not fair for what we pay me and my husband. Never seen a gym so cold! And the thought of going to the gym recently is becoming a stress instead of a pleasure! Hopefully now you'll take into account our complaints.

Negative experience: The Gym is OK but the swimming pool is awful!!! First of all it is dirty! some hairs and other stuff (like plasters) in the water, in the shower and changing room! Secondly - the changing room has no heating so its cold like hell! You getting out from the water and before you get change you are frozen to death! Its ridiculous!! I just canceled my membership and I dont recommend this place if you are interested of swimming pool!

Negative experience: Something needs to change with regards to how access to the pool is managed. We pay around £70 a month, and the pool is often unavailable for members and their families (i.e. children). In the evenings its rented out for lessons, leaving only around 15% of the space for public use. In the junior pool, this equates to about 4m by 4m, and there was around 10 people in it.. all you can do is basically stand-still, for fear of bumping into people. This I could live with, as it was available on weekends, but presently they seem to constantly be holding smimming gala's - for 2 out of 3 past Saturdays its been unavailable for us to use. The point is, we pay for membership in order to have the facilities available... and they're not. I don't begrudge Westcroft from holding these events, but they should not be done at the cost of members... i.e. rather than shutting down for the whole day, do it Saturday and Sunday morning.. and leave the pool available to members in the afternoons/evenings.

Negative experience: Terrible and dirty swimming pool and changing room. Our kids was suffered from the cold because there was no hot water in shower room. They put up a sign which barely recognised and they should closed the pool from the minute when there no hot water and the staff at reception just clueless.

Positive experience: We visited for a Lego event. We didn't use any of the leisure facilities only the main sports hall where the event was held. We saw there was a pool there also and a coffee shop. It looked okay but not super clean generally around the centre

Negative experience: Westcroft Carshalton Badminton Courts: A Disappointing Experience --‐-------------------------------- Westcroft Carshalton Badminton Courts, once a peaceful haven for badminton enthusiasts, has unfortunately become a noisy and disruptive place due to the recent introduction of loud group exercise classes. These classes, conducted in half of the courts, create an unbearable noise level that significantly impacts the playing experience for badminton players. The constant blare of music and the loud instructions from the class instructors make it nearly impossible to concentrate on the game, hear other players, or even have a decent conversation. This noise pollution has turned the courts into a frustrating and unpleasant environment. If you're looking for a quiet and enjoyable badminton experience, I strongly advise avoiding Westcroft Carshalton until the management addresses this issue and restores the courts to their former state.

Fantastic experience: Great classes,great staff - just an all round great experience !!

Negative experience: I’ve been taking my one-year-old son to swimming lessons at Westcroft Leisure Centre for the past four months, and while the lessons themselves have been satisfactory, I’ve had ongoing issues with the customer service at the reception. Every time I enter the facility with my son’s buggy, I have to request assistance to open the buggy door, as the barriers are not suitable for prams. Unfortunately, the reception staff have repeatedly displayed poor customer service in handling these requests. Despite seeing me approach with the buggy, they often choose to ignore me initially, looking away or pretending not to notice. I typically have to call out “excuse me” two or three times before they reluctantly open the door. This lack of attentiveness and the dismissive attitude is not only frustrating but also feels deliberately rude. As a paying customer, I expect a basic level of courtesy, which sadly seems to be lacking. I hope the management takes note of this and improves the attitude and professionalism of the reception staff, as it severely impacts the overall experience.

Negative experience: This gym offers cheap services, and unfortunately, the customer service matches the price. It’s unrealistic to expect quality treatment when paying such low rates. It seems the council doesn’t invest much in their staff, as most appear disinterested in helping or even replying to thank you or excuse me, with only one or two exceptions. The sales representatives make promises over the phone but fail to keep records, making you feel foolish or dishonest. My child was learning to swim here, but we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Negative experience: Changing room smelled and was dirty.

Fantastic experience: The Swimming Instructor Victoria is so good! My Son has progressed so well since being under her weekly tuition. She is definitely the best teacher there. Her teaching methods are effective and importantly the kids enjoy it. Westcroft are lucky to have her

Negative experience: The place is filthy but I guess that's what you expect when you catch a cleaner sat in the toilet vaping told her that she should not be doing this and was told mind my own business I think her name is lovina I only know this because another cleaner came to look for her and called her name.I went to reception to complain and got dirty looks and her attitude stank was just told to contact 3ways about the cleaner vaping. The management should have delt with the matter straight away as she was on their property. The staff never smile and a very unprofessional the place is run by teenagers that have no customer service experience management need to train staff better. The state of the place needs improving lifts never work its stinks. I think the place needs a whole new set of staff that understand customers needs and it needs a new paint job I would avoid going here.

Negative experience: Nearly impossible to find anything on the website, so complicated just to much unessary overload of Information when I just want to find out about swimming tines for my baby. If they haven't refused you because they've closed the both whole pools for the disabled for 3 hours! you can't just walk in you have to be registered and do all that paperwork and time for that. Bloody hell what a FAFF! Not coming here anymore, I give up it's just to much hard work just wanted an hours swim that's all. Shouldn't be that complicated. Going to DOLPHINS SWIM SCHOOL IN MITCHAM

Fantastic experience: The hall could do with a facelift, but the friendly staff and really affordable prices makes Westcroft Leisure Centre a fun place to attend. Nice people.

Fantastic experience: The place is very well maintained. It is neat and clean. The gym is really very big and also the equipments are new. The staff is also cooperative

Negative experience: Well, what can I say. I’ve tried on 4 occasions to activate a day pass. I’ve provided all the details and obtained a card, logged in online and via the app, but still not allowed to entry. I still can’t use a day pass. The initial request to get a day pass took 3 hours for the email to be received. Going into the leisure centre to ask for help and attempt to gain access is pointless, staff aren’t interested, well at least not when it came to me. I’ve taken this as a blessing in disguise as this type of slapdash behaviour usually is an indicator on underlying issues. Not a problem in the end, I’ll just sign with one of the dozen neighbouring gyms in the area. Clearly they don’t want my custom. If you don’t like rigmaroles I’d advise you go elsewhere too.

Fantastic experience: Attended comic con on Sunday, first time in years at this centre, clean, tidy, plenty of parking available. Many activities available especially swimming.

Negative experience: This is literally one of the worst places you could go to. Avoid at all costs. The timetables for everything changes all the time, it’s not a adult inclusive. The pool is a disaster and always fully booked and there is never any quiet times. The fitness classes are so few and poorly organised. The gym is the only saving Grace but even that is overbooked at all times. Puregym is a million times better.

Negative experience: Been coming here regularly for about a year. My view is that it's generally OK but there are lots of things that can and really should be improved. First, the positives. The gym is fine. It's got a decent range of equipment and free weights and if something breaks, it's usually fixed pretty quickly. Staff in the gym are pretty good. It's great that the centre has a pool. It's also got a cafe, library and sports halls with classes. It's a proper community hub. But the problem is the whole place is utterly filthy. The swimming pool is a disgrace. For some reason certain groups think it's fine to walk in the showers with their shoes on. It's disgusting. The place is never cleaned. There are lots of staff milling around. They should have an hourly cleaning rota and sort it out. The gym too is dirty. However the biggest problem is there are lots of children - some maybe 8 or 9 that take up the whole place. They're goofing about or most usually just sitting on a bench on their phones for 20 minutes at a time. It's so frustrating. The music is woeful. It's just not a good gym if you're serious about lifting

Fantastic experience: A nice location for personal study with enough space and comfortable environment. There's access to computer if you didn't carry your laptop.

Negative experience: Bring my child here for swimming lessons (separate issue and would not recommend) and have always found the swimming facilities dirty and smell but my latest visit was by far the worst. Bits of mould and a plaster floating in puddles, mould on walls in shower, difficult to find a cubicle that looked even slightly clean, toilets filthy. I have been visiting weekly for a year now and there is always something 'out of service' whether be a tap or a cubicle. On my latest visit 3 out of 4 hairdryers were out of order along with other bits. Place is becoming a dive. Also do not agree with the 'contactless' payments only.

Negative experience: Staff are miserable and not helpful (receptionist shouted at me as I left because I said WOW due to their lack of helpfulness - was shocked at the staff's attitude) A smile would have gone a long way to helping with my questions rather than blanks stares........... training in customer service would be the way forward. Website is not updated with when the pool is shut/open. Registered online but forgot password - 6 time requested password reset and no email (yes have checked junk/spam folders) I was told I should have called and not gone from online information ! Very easy to see everything online at Waddon Pool (opening times/classes etc) Westcroft make it very hard to get information. Having seen the online reviews most complaint about the rude staff .................. maybe the manager should look into this with urgency

Fantastic experience: Very good leisure activities very good cafe and free parking

Negative experience: Have to deal with rude staff most of the time & I had to change several swimming teachers as they were not good enough. They can run swimming lessons up to 12 learners for a 30 mins session, which I don't think it's right. The changing room is quite dirty & smells too. I would definitely go elsewhere if I've had a choice but we have found a great teacher which my son enjoys her classes.

Fantastic experience: A great community sports hub with quality gym and pool. Swimming slots are plenty around 1300

Negative experience: Dirty changing rooms...floor is disgusting as people are walking in with outdoor shoes on and then someone is coming out of pool and stepping in these puddles of dirty water needs a cleaner in there all the time mopping up Toilets are terrible too ..especially when school kids have been in there Very poor hygiene

Fantastic experience: A decent leisure centre with ample free parking spaces.

Negative experience: Avoid the swimming pool at all cost!! I went couple weeks ago and literally straight away after started feeling ill which then developed into chest infection with antibiotics, took over 2 weeks to get over, I went back to the swimming pool and same again happened straight after started feeling ill which has now become an ear infection with more antibiotics!! Clearly they have a major hygiene issue and clearly do not clean the pool correctly, will be going to a completely different pool from now on!

Positive experience: Gym is fine. Needs a bit of attention in terms of cleaning. Changing rooms is bigger than the gym. The showers, thus 3 stars. Omg! The water is extremely hot. You can't even put your hand under the shower. Super dirty, stinky and slippery floor. You can tell by the stain on the doors and the tiles that weren't paid attention for a long time...

Fantastic experience: Very good leisure centre with first class facilities including a public library

Negative experience: Very good classes and vibe with really good teachers and friendly people attending them here. Let down however with some un friendly , unhelpful,. surly general staff which is a pity Some people and interpersonal skills training are much needed for some of the people employed at this venue . As a footnote here I joined elsewhere not far from here and have met quite a few who have the same experience of this poorly run place. I could not be happier with everything that the new gym provides so will def not be back to this unprofessional dive ever !!

Fantastic experience: I went to the gym on Wednesday and visited the cafe after. Met an extremely enthusiastic and wonderful young man named Tadhg, he was well presented and spoke calmly and kindly, will definitely visit again just because of him.

Negative experience: The receptionist today was quite rude making silly faces when I asked her some questions. The gym is also overpacked and smells of Bad hygiene

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to give a review on our Swim teacher Victoria. Our 10 year old had previously been with other teachers, but didn’t seem to progress at all. As soon as Victoria started teaching him he has progressed amazingly well. She seems to ‘understand children and their individual needs and how to motivate each of them’. She is friendly and fun, but demands hard work out of them at the same time. She keeps us as parents updated. Overall I can’t rate her highly enough.

Negative experience: Don’t go for swimming lesson teachers are rude and arrogant telling my son to shut up and get out in half session.

Fantastic experience: Great customer service- very helpful

Positive experience: Had a lovely time swimming with my son on Saturday morning. Facilities very clean. Just be aware you need a 20p coin for the lockers but reception don't provide change.

Negative experience: I visited the swimming pool recently, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The pool was dirty, and the changing rooms were in poor condition. Many people entered with shoes, and several door locks were damaged. Overall, I would not recommend this facility.

Negative experience: Yesterday went into the shower after swimming it was so bad lots of hair near the drain area ...and a full bin with dirty nappies in one had spilled out onto the floor

Positive experience: The staff are friendly here, but there’s a hygiene issue. Dirty changing rooms and all, like if someone fixes this.

Negative experience: I really like the swimming pool in this center, but yesterday it was terribly dirty everywhere, especially in the toilets, where there was a terrible stench, I suspect because of the garbage in the tanks that are not thrown away, in the women's toilet, there was also poop on the floor. If the center does not improve hygiene near the pool, in the shower where everything is yellow, in the changing rooms where a lot of hair and especially in the toilets, visiting this center will be dangerous for health, because it is not known the quality of the water and how often they change it and whether they use high-quality antiseptics in the right doses, if they can't even fix easily accessible surfaces. Disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Great gym! The receptionist Jaymee was extremely pleasant and created a comfortable atmosphere as a first time member. Definitely recommend.

Negative experience: The swimming pools are nice, but this centre definitely has a hygiene issue. People are walking in their outside shoes literally everywhere, ignoring any signs. There are dirt, hair, and small bits of rubbish around the swimming pools that people are dragging around with their shoes. Would be nice if someone could care and address this issue.

Negative experience: I do not recommend this leisure centre. The place is manned and staffed by PC lunatics who are woke. They have got a problem with the word BLACK but it is actually a word to describe black people. Very unfriendly staff and I would stay clear of the place. If it weren't for the woke staff it would be good. They are also very rude.

Negative experience: The facilities are decent for a local leisure centre. Nice pool and gym. However, my ym membership was cancelled for no reason whatsoever and despite saying they had no idea why, their only solution was to rejoin and pay another £10 joining fee, despite it being an issue with their system. Which is utterly insane. They absolutely would not budge. So I joined a different gym in Wallington.

Negative experience: A good facility, let down by its system, staff and centre management.

Negative experience: I started my membership in July, stopped it in August, and then resumed payment in September. However, they counted the membership fee for August when it should have been for September. When I tried to rectify this in September, they asked for another payment. As a result, I have decided to permanently cancel my membership.

Negative experience: Unfortunately the response of Westcroft staff from phones calls and email enquires is none existent. We had a monthly booking pre-covid, then since then, they won't return paid bookings or respond to taking our bookings back up. Multiple attempts and messages left with no acknowledgements or responses. Very disappointing from a centre that should be available for the local community.

Fantastic experience: Swimming lessons ate so good my granddaughter loves going

Positive experience: Westcroft Leisure Centre is a gym with over a hundred work stations. The center offers a range of fitness classes. The centre is always kept to a good standard of cleanliness.

Positive experience: I stopped going her about a year ago because I was so fed up with the lack of cleanliness in the pool changing rooms. I took a chance and returned today and there was a noticeable improvement. Could definitely be improved further though. Aside from that, the centre and the activities on offer are great. Also, the lady on reception this morning was SO lovely and helpful. It was only a small interaction but it made our experience more enjoyable, thank you.

Negative experience: The lockers are broken and also it is not very clean

Negative experience: Staff are not welcoming. Very slow service. Whenever we go to play badminton for a prebooked court you have to tell them constantly to setup the net for the court and sometimes half way through the game they tell us to change the court to any other empty ones as they need to setup something for next day. Very unprofessional.

Positive experience: I only use the swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff. The public pool sessions are too crowded. So, if you can swim the full lane, book lane swimming sessions, not the public swimming sessions.

Fantastic experience: Situated in the heart of the Carshalton community. The leisure centre boasts many different facilities including a 25 metre pool, various courts for basketball and badminton etc. A gym with over a hundred work stations. The centre offers a range of fitness classes and activities and a number of different memberships to suit your requirements. There is also a study area, beauty salon, cafe, and dance studio. All the staff including desk, office, cleaners, lifeguards and instructors are friendly and approachable. The centre is always kept to a good standard of cleanliness.

Positive experience: Some staff could do with being more polite and respectful to their members. Nope! No change!!

Negative experience: The swimming pools are large and nice... But the changing room its not the best. Men and women do not have separate changing rooms. There is no separate showers, all the showers are open (for men and women) and there are about 15 but only 10 work, and we can't even control the temperature. Badminton space is good.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for 4+ years now and I love all the classes they offer, the instructors are so approachable and the staff in general is kind. What I mostly love is the wide range of activities they offer and having so many facilities together has made my life so easy. My work timetable changes a lot so I just go to the app and book a class that is convenient for me. When there is not one I just go to the gym or the pool. Of course there are some things that might need to improve like the pool changing rooms. There is always room for improvement but for me is a 5 stars place. well done Westcroft Leisure center.

Negative experience: The staff are very helpful and welcoming, however the changing village and showers need more regular cleaning. Hair everywhere and soaking wet. I'm a member so I am there regularly. I feel like I'm going to catch something from that floor every time I go. It never used to be that dirty. Went to another leisure centre today and it was spotless.

Negative experience: VERY HOSTILE RECEPTIONIST, CHANGING ROOMS VERY,VERY DIRTY, UNKEPT; TOILETS ALWAYS BLOCKED AND NOT CLEANED!!! I REWARDED ONE STAR BUT I WISH THAT THERE IS A ZERO STAR, NOT A GOOD, CLEAN LEISURE CENTRE!!!

Positive experience: Staff are very friendly and my son has been having lessons here for a few years now which I am happy with. Price has gone up by 25% in the last two years though with the biggest increase this last year which I don't think is acceptable for classes of up to 8 children with one teacher... My biggest gripe is how dirty the place is and how run down. Multiple changing rooms do not lock and have never locked the whole time I come. People leave stuff in changing rooms all the time and staff do nothing about it. Often cannot find a changing room when it is peak time. The floors are always so dirty and wet in the changing rooms. Some lights don't work so changing rooms can be dark and are dirty inside them too. Often there is whole areas blocked off for weeks at a time. Furthermore they've now changed the locker system so instead of £1 and it being returned it's 20p and no where to get change. The changing rooms also often smell really badly and have some kind of flies/fruit flies. Soap dispensers and taps not working in toilets and never have the whole time I've been there and often the toilets are dirty too. Price is going up but the overall experience is going down. I am debating going elsewhere because of this. It's such a shame as it never used to be like this, but now just looks tatty and unloved.

Fantastic experience: Sophie at the front desk is a superstar always friendly !!!

Negative experience: I'm a new member. I've been to some classes. The booking is challenging. You have to watch the app consistently either to get into a class or to not get charged. I think I've cancelled and I get charged so I'm unhappy. I either need to constantly be watching the app or not take classes. The classes are over crowded as they do not have enough, so might not bother anymore. The positive is the gym is clean, a good facility and close by. The negative is it's hard to access and overcrowded when you do. Might cancel if nothing improves.

Fantastic experience: The sales team are amazing- Jack, Jenna and Jay! The centre as a whole is amazing too especially the lifeguard Riley (always helping and supporting customers) just an amazing centre to go to! Also Rhys from Sales!!

Positive experience: Fantastic pool and nice complex. Unfortunately the swimming pool changing rooms were filthy and had tiles missing from the ceiling. Also the 20p charge for lockers is such a ridiculous system. They even have a sign on reception saying they don't have change for lockers. So many people got caught out while we were there.

Positive experience: My first time taking my little one swimming he is 5 months, and I was a little disappointed. The first part was my mistake although I think it could be a bit more clear. I booked onto public swimming thinking this was including the baby pool (teaching pool) but I didn’t know you had to look at the little description to see that it says if the teaching pool was included. So the teaching pool was opening at 1 and we was booked onto the 12-1 session we gave the main pool a try but was far too cold for a baby. Our bags were in the pool side and whilst my friend was in the pool with her baby I got out and went on my phone to book us onto the 13:00 session and the lifeguard turned round to me and he said no phone on pool side so I said ok and put my phone away and spoke to my friend and bare in mind he is half way down the pool, can’t hear my conversation and I wasn’t making any contact anywhere near his direction he turned round to me rudely and full of attitude and said sorry what was that and I replied I was talking to my friend and he rolled his eyes and turned back around. This then just put me in such a bad mood and we just got out got changed and went home. It completely ruined my first experience taking my little one swimming and I’m not sure if I was to return or not.

Fantastic experience: The wonderful lady at the front let me use the sports hall to fold and pack my paraglider wing. I was expecting a 'computer says no' situation but that wasn't the case. Thank you, very kind.

Positive experience: First visit today, an overall good experience although assuming it's a shared shower, I don't think the man understood it maybe a good idea to keep his trunks on. 4 stars ad I failed to find an unoccupied changing cubicle with out a broken door ( although I only checked 2 before giving in and used my bag to hold the door closed )

Negative experience: I recently just moved to the area looking for a local gym. Popped in here and asked a young lady on reception about gym prices. She didn't say anything to me but just pointed to a see through glass room where a guy was on the phone. As soon he saw me waiting he span his chair round facing the other way on his phone "important" phone call. Apparently the guy just happens to be the one that deals with the memberships. I asked him few questions and he just gave me one word answers as if what I'm asking is too much. I left the Westcroft Lesiure centre and went to a pond nearby to feed the ducks and squirrels which were more welcoming.

Negative experience: Rubbish, rubbish , rubbish. Absolute poor website booking system. Slow loading and literally cannot complete a booking in good time.

Positive experience: Lovely swimming pools, usually clean changing rooms but the amount of broken locks in changing rooms are horrendous.. also the water temperature in the main pool is really low. My 3 year old barely can stay 30 mins without his getting shivery and purple lips.

Negative experience: Very dismissive receptionist when asking a simple enquiry. Maybe customer service training is in order.

Negative experience: Such a bad experience with a member of the staff called Callum. I had just dropped my kid to his lesson when he came over and in a very racist and rude way he told me to leave - moreover my wife heard him saying “I hate customers” when leaving. This is unacceptable and represents such a bad experience and example for the kids theirselves, hence I will cancel the membership of both my kids.

Fantastic experience: Learn swimming under expert coaches here. Pools are well maintained.

Negative experience: My son had a class of swimming today.The class started 5 mins late and the teacher started talking to another teacher for last ten mins.So overall just fifteen mins class out of 30 mins.This place is a complete mess all the time.I am a gym member as well and most of the machines are not working.There is hardly any cleaning done.Very busy and rubbish service.

Fantastic experience: Really nice gym, so much space, personal trainers all seem super nice. Wish they would have installed a sauna and steam room when they refurbished it. Apart from that great value for money.

Negative experience: Abysmal website and booking system. Site is slow, never loads and ise utterly useless. Probably hosted on a cheap server and desgned by a 5 year old

Positive experience: Clean, well equipped and organized. Not too much crowded. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Great time in the pool with the kids. Good family change area and plenty of parking spots. Will go again!
