Fantastic experience: I have had such a positive experience at Hype Fitness. I came initially for a bungee fitness class that my friend had organised as a birthday surprise, and had SO much fun. I then came back on my own accord for more. I even signed up to their 6 week transformation challenge, which I have just completed! I don't think I have ever sweated so much as I have in the small group 'body transformation' classes, but Ronaldo is great at explaining all the exercises, encouraging you and advising you on when you should try to push yourself with heavier weights, etc. It was really great too that you do these classes with others who are either currently doing the 6 week challenge, or have completed it in the past. I have also really enjoyed the other fitness classes that I've been to at Hype (e.g. Boogie Bounce, Zumba, Jungle Body). One of the things I love the most is that they aren't your typical gym classes, they are so much more fun! Whilst I'm definitely getting a workout during the class, it doesn't feel like I'm working out, in a good way! The 6 week transformation challenge has also been so helpful. I've tried to get fitter and lose weight in the past but have struggled. The initial consultation call with Hannah was so helpfulas she really understood my concerns, and was able to share with me how the challenge could help me to achieve my goals. The accountability of the program was an important part of keeping me motivated, and the nutrition guide they provided was excellent!
Positive experience: Instructor was quite passive aggressive throughout the session which made me not want to try this class again. Please also be aware that the bungee harnesses hurt a lot which makes the class a little less enjoyable.
Fantastic experience: No Sian was lovely very helpful. She made the class just the right side of hard whilst being fun

Fantastic experience: I recently completed the Hype 6 week challenge and I was asked a series of questions about my time. I've added these below as my review. I absolutely love it and I would recommend to anyone trying to get back into shape and back working out again, or even those that have never done anything, it's never to late! 1. Which parts of the challenge did you enjoy the most? There were a few things, 1) the actual classes with Ronaldo (transformational sessions), he is so good and really mixes it up. The classes are smaller so you do feel like you are getting a personal training session. He pays attention, corrects if need be and really pushes you to do what he knows you can. This is why I'm choosing his classes as my membership going forward. 2) once you get started, it feels like a family. All the gals pull together, cheer each other on and are all really friendly. 3) assisting with nutrition, it really does help with the workouts and tracking makes you realise where you are lacking or where you need to add. 2. Were there any parts of the challenge you struggled with? Did you find the structure of the program helped you overcome them? Or could we have improved? To be honest, the toughest part for me was signing up! I hadn't been feeling particularly great about myself so getting started was the toughest. Yes, the first few days, into a week were tough because you are sore and tired but I knew what to expect and just kept coming. In fact that's what I tell all the new starters, just keep coming, it will get better. I honestly love the set up and for me, taking part in all of Ronaldo's sessions was exactly what I needed and wanted. I would not change a thing! 3. What were your overall goals and have you met them? My goal was not to loose a ton of weight but to start enjoying working out again and doing something different. My goal was to feel better and to tone up and to comfortably fit into some of my clothes that have been a bit tight of late. That is exactly what I got. I feel a million times better, I fit into my clothes again and I have a pep in my step! I have hypothyroid, am peri menopausal and over 50 so it was tough but I'm 100% glad that I went for it. 4. What are you looking forward to doing next now your 6 weeks are over? I am looking forward to continuing with Ronaldo's classes and, get stronger and leaner. 5. If someone else was thinking about joining the challenge, what would you say to them? I would say go for it, give it a try and I'm sure you will absolutely love it. Best thing I've done in years. I feel brilliant!
Fantastic experience: Wife and I had a private bungee fitness lesson. First time trying this out and we had a great time working out in a fun way. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: I was 15mins lates so wasn’t allowed to take the class even though this wasn’t informed when I joined …supposedly it’s written on their T&C boards …so I can’t really say much lol

Whenever you make a purchase or booking, you agree to these terms. In addition, you are subscribed for all email notifications about class reservations and I can see that you have been sent multiple emails when making your bookings and in every email the cancellation policy is reminded to you, and a reminder that you must arrive early as late arrivals may be turned away. I have dropped you an email with attachments to show the days and times these emails were sent, plus showing the reminders about arriving early. As you stated that yourself that you arrived 15 minutes late to the class, I am afraid we cannot let anyone join in this late as you had missed the warm up and it will be disruptive for other people. This is for your own health and safety to avoid any injury, as it would be irresponsible for the instructor to let you join in when you are not mobilised properly and ready for the class. We do appreciate feedback, so if you feel there is any other way that you feel we could have communicated this policy more clearly, please let us know. Negative experience: Having been a very happy member here for 3 years now, I can recommend the classes and staff wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, heating seems to be an issue in the winter which management struggle to seem to gain control of. This is a shame as my enjoyment of full membership (x2 including my daughter) is subsequently compromised in the colder months. I’m hoping this can one day be resolved, so that people can enjoy their membership in comfort all year. In reply to Hannah’s repsonse: obviously I had spoken to Chloe when I arrived about how cold it was in the building and she informed me that the heating had not been on before she arrived so wouldn’t in any way, warm the place up before the start of the children’s class and after your response regarding the thermostat, I went and checked it and it was on 18 so definitely wasn’t a clients fault. I understand that a sudden cold spell can mean the heating is less effective but it wasn’t just the children’s class that the heating was a problem as I know other members complained to Chloe too. We had the same issues last year and eventually the heating was put to a better schedule/heat setting and we could continue our classes properly so I look forward to that being the case this year. X
Hi Chelsea, thanks for your review and really glad you enjoy the classes and that you support us as a small, independent business. We are limited with what we can do with a large 70s concrete building and a heating system that is maintained by our landlord, but as I mentioned in my earlier email to you, we do everything we can to have radiators turned up in full. As soon as the temperatures drop, we review the heating schedules and the staff ensure the thermostat and radiators are turned up to the max. The heating normally keeps the place toasty and warm, but on rare occasions when the outside temperatures are extreme as they suddenly were today (sudden cold snap of -1° and snow flurries) we have to react to get the heating turned up. After today’s kids aerial class with Chloe and I received your email, I immediately spoke to her and our receptionist Dylan to ask them to get the heating turned up. If you ever feel the temperatures are too low, please do speak to the staff immediately as they can help straight away.The main issue, as I mentioned, is that the thermostat is located in our outer hallway and other customers have regularly turned it down without our knowledge when they feel it’s too warm during some of our fitness classes, which can therefore turn off the boiler. We have asked customers to refrain many times in the past but sadly it does continue and I cannot have the thermostat moved as unfortunately the landlord is responsible for the building’s boiler and systems. We have taped over the thermostat with a sign as a temporary measure and we hope to have a lock-box installed over it to prevent people from interfering with the heating settings. This is provided the landlord gives us permission to do so and I hope they will. If you have any suggestions or ideas which could help, we are always happy to explore options.Many thanks, HannahEDIT: in response to your further message on this review, this is why we want to put a lock box over the thermostat as you have very easily been able to still access it (as you have been able to take the sign off yourself to take a look) so sadly people still ignore the sign. I last spoke to one of our receptionists Dylan 8 days ago about the heating, and we walked through all the settings to check we were ready for January especially as we had new classes added to the timetable which need heating to be on the scheduled timer. He was instructed by me to set the thermostat to minimum 19-20° which is normally fine for most times of year. The team have been told if we get any colder weather to immediately turn it up to at the very least 21°, certainly not 18° so this proves that it has been tampered with. I would never have asked my team to set the thermostat to 18° in January. I checked in a few days ago and all the team said that the temperature indoors were fine so this is clearly something that must have happened with someone turning it down in the last day or so. It’s unfortunate timing to coincide with the temperatures suddenly dropping overnight Sunday which meant we didn’t have time before Monday’s kids daytime class to be aware and get the thermostat turned up in advance. I really do hope the lockbox will solve this issue and I’ll ask a local handyman to go ahead and install and I’ll speak to the landlord later to ask forgiveness! This will then eliminate who can control the thermostat to a very select few in the reception team. I’ll do my best to get this in place this week but as I mentioned in my email, I’m on maternity leave as I’m due to have my baby any day now. Although I live in the midlands and manage the studios remotely at the moment, we have a few good local tradesmen we use who can get round and possibly do this quite quickly.As you pointed out above, we sorted the heating out last year as best we could and this still continues. We always listen to customer feedback and do whatever we can in the circumstances we have to put things right x
Fantastic experience: Really good workout and I ache like hell today which can only be a good thing. The instructor was friendly, instructed us clearly, and perfectly. Fantastic venue, well kitted out all the apparatus was clean and imperfect working order.

Negative experience: Very bad customer service! Staff are so rude as well as teacher are so cold with new student . I bought a 7 days trail. It not worth and bad experience for the first time attend . I was late for 5 mins class and I was trying to explain to reception staff why. The reception staff was rude and proud just saying you can’t go In because you are 5 mins late. I was trying to explain and they even did not let me explain. I was unhappy boc reception attitude. She says you can leave and leave any review on internet we do not care. Very bad experience never go to this gym again as a guess or member! Never
We initially didn't want to reply publicly to this review but as it was extremely upsetting to the staff members involved and several customers who witnessed what happened, we decided to respond as we have a right to reply and correct the information which has been falsely presented in this review. What your review fails to mention is your conduct. You arrived nearly 10 minutes late to a pole fitness class. It was your first visit to the studios, so once you had filled out your health forms (which all customers are required to complete on their first visit) you would have been significantly late for class which is a health and safety risk as you would not have warmed up properly to avoid injury, not to mention this is incredibly disruptive to the other people who had arrived on time for class as the instructor would have to stop the entire class for you and warm you up if you were allowed in. When you booked, you were reminded of the studio policies in your booking email and asked to arrive early. You told the receptionist that you had not bothered to read it and didn't think it was important. Nevertheless, the receptionist did her best and interrupted the class to ask the instructor if there could be an exception made so you could join, but the instructor said no as we uphold a high safety standard in class. She rightly felt she would be negligent if she allowed you to join in without warming up, and as the class was well underway with 5 other people who were ready, it would not be fair to them to cut into their training time to repeat the warm up for you. Once this was relayed to you, you then became verbally abusive to my receptionist, leaning threateningly over the desk and shouting in her face, calling her an idiot and stupid. Your behaviour was so threatening that the receptionist asked you to leave the premises. This is something we have never had to do before for any customer in 13 years of being in business. The receptionist immediately informed me of what had happened over the phone, and then I called you myself to see if matters could be resolved. On our phonecall you were extremely rude and abusive to myself as well, shouting down the phone and yelling that you did not care about our health and safety policies, that you don't care if there is an injury risk if didn't warm up and that you didn't care that you were disruptive to class. I explained to you that this is not the kind of behaviour we expect at our studios and you will be a risk to us if you do not care to respect our policies. I therefore refunded you trial pass in full, and informed you that you are banned from our premises. In addition, the CCTV footage was reviewed and the receptionist interacted to you in a calm and polite manner throughout, despite you raising your voice, calling her stupid and an idiot. You also initially refused to leave the premises but once you did, she felt so shaken up by your behaviour that she had to go lock the door which highlights the conduct that you subjected her to.We do not tolerate any abuse in our studios from anyone, and we will vigorously defend everyone's right to come to work or come to train peacefully as a customer in a safe space, free from this kind of behaviour. Fantastic experience: Hype studio is one of the best fitness studios I have ever used. I first came across hype when I was looking for a unique studio to give exclusive classes that gym was providing for me. It has been over 5 years that I have been coming and enjoying their classes. All the instructors are professional, friendly and so fantastic at what they do. Hype has helped get in to shape, and getting ready to fit in to my wedding dress. It has also provide a great environment to meet such upbeat and lovely people who are great at what they do, even during the hardest times (covid). I will continue to support Hype and can’t wait to get back to my favourite classes. :-D
Fantastic experience: Aerial classes don't feel like the usual exercise classes, as they're unique, challenging and fun!! Aerial works muscles I didn't even know I had and helps with my mental health too, it helps me to switch off and take time for me. Chloe is also the best instructor, spotting us, encouraging and celebrating everyones achievements!

Fantastic experience: The classes are challenging but really fun and motivating. The instructors are encouraging and always give variations of the movements for those (me) who are brand new to them. I’m always nervous as a plus-sized woman joining new classes but the whole HYPE vibe is welcoming and nonjudgmental. 10/10 would recommend.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym ! Our first experience and will definitely be back ! We tried bungee aerobics which was so much fun . Amanda was so professional and Jo on reception ( hope I’ve got the name right ) was so kind and helpful . There were so many laughs and a great workout! Fantastic experience: I have been a member since launch and have tried all sorts of classes at Hype: dance, interval, high impact low impact, flexibility and stretch, with half a dozen different instructors. I have nothing but positive experiences with them all. Special mention goes to Emma, Chloiie and Amanda, who are amazingly encouraging and supportive, friendly and know you by name. I have never experienced anything other than a welcoming environment, which starts with Jo and Dylan on Reception, who are personable, accommodating and always positive. Whatever your fitness aim I guarantee you will find a class to suit. You will not be disappointed.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to hype for a few months now for aerial and the occasional fitness class after moving to SW London, and I absolutely LOVE it. My confidence in aerial as well as just in general has improved and I feel like whenever I attend classes I am supported and encouraged (as well as challenged in a positive way), and the instructors are keen to get to know you and build a good rapport with the entire class. Massive shout out to Chloe especially who is an incredible teacher alongside the weds & fri regulars who are fabulous!
Fantastic experience: I have been a member since Hype first started many years ago. I can honestly say this is the best place to go to for great fun classes. Hype is like a family, all the instructors are lovely and keep you motivated. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to have fun whilst keeping fit at the same time!!
Fantastic experience: My sister and I did the bungee fitness class and loved it! So much fun. We got to learn a routine and Amanda was a great trainer bringing loads of energy and a lot of fun to the class. Hard work but so worth it. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun way to do fitness!

Fantastic experience: Nice studio with friendly instructors. I have done a few different classes now and have enjoyed them all. Only piece of feedback would be if the instructors could have a head set as it can sometimes be hard to hear them. Overall great vibe, fun lights and good workouts

Wearing a microphone is up to the instructor and whether it suits the class format (e.g. for Zumba we are not supposed to wear them as the structure of the class is based around visual instead of verbal cues) however I will feed this back to our instructors to try to wear the microphones where possible as we do have them available in the studio for their use. Fantastic experience: I love this place! HYPE to me is like a little family. The instructors are excellent and help keep you motivated throughout the class and the routines are often varied, so you’ve never bored. I’ve moved to Croydon recently but wouldn’t dream of going to any other gym - HYPE for life!

Positive experience: I would have to agree with Me Surname’s review - after attending for a number of sessions the same instructor seemed really nice and I enjoyed myself but after this mornings session I’m not sure about going back to her personally - she was rude for no reason (my bad I was late by 5 minutes, it was my fault I will hold my hands up) first session on the aerial hammocks and I got no help, snapped at and ignored when I quite clearly needed a bit of assistance. I think I will look for another place that will have patience for a complete beginner as she is clearly not the right person.
Hi Alessia, thanks to your feedback we addressed the issues you raised. You and I had a great in-depth discussion about what needed to be improved with the instructor you had the class with to avoid this happening again, and how we could put things right. I am are really pleased you came back for private sessions with me to give you the complete aerial experience you should have had. Sadly the Covid-19 lockdown put a stop to our sessions, but I can't wait to get you booked back in once we re-open next week. Hannah
Positive experience: Great studio in terms of all that it offers and the various types of class, most of the instructors are great, a distant owner who has minimal involvement which is neither a good or bad thing. Only slight issue is with the aerial instructor, great in terms of knowledge and ability to teach mixed abilities in the same class (which most aerial instructors struggle with). Only problem (which isn't a problem for all) is lack of professionalism, it appears that if she likes you're fine, however if she doesn't she'll be rude to you, won't give you as much/if any assistance if you're struggling with a move and tell you off often. I'm not the only one that has left because of her behaviour towards them. It's such a shame because take away her behaviour and she's a really great instructor, and can be really nice and friendly. Don't be put off doing aerial, it's great fun, but if she doesn't like you sadly it can take the fun out and/or knock your confidence.
Negative experience: Poor customer service.
Dear Karolina. We apologise if you feel that the customer service you received from Emma and Chloe was not to your expectations, however they were trying to explain that the class credit you had for £12.50 was for a Pole or Aerial class category, and the Body Barre class you wanted to attend was £7.00 in the different fitness class category, therefore you would be overpaying for a class if we had overridden our booking system for you to use that credit. The girls simply wanted to avoid you paying too much for a class and were not deliberately trying to stop you booking into the class. We have wanted to issue you a gift card instead which gives you more flexibility on class payment but we have not been able to speak to you since. If you feel that there is anything else we should have done differently then we would appreciate if you could return our calls so that we can discuss this and come to a resolution. Fantastic experience: Great place. Great instructors, with a wealth of experience. Really friendly and welcoming and a big mix of abilities, shapes and sizes. So many classes to choose from. My son also comes to classes here and loves it as much as me.
