Negative experience: The deep end in the swimming is dirty. Complained and nothing changes

Fantastic experience: When I drop my brother off at the veterans' garden in Dumfries, I take my girl a nice relaxed walk the people are so friendly,the area is well kept.

Fantastic experience: I like it a lot! It's small and a bit oldschool swimming pool and changing rooms (haven't made it to the gym yet, not too proud about it) , I mean the positive meaning Super friendly staff!

Positive experience: This is a rather old fashioned swimming pool. I'd guess it was built before the last war, perhaps as a conversion from a sports hall. It was modernised a bit a decade back, and is a smallish pool but with a deep end and a steep slope into it. It is a bit cramped with limited poolside space on one side, and you need to climb steps up to it from the changing rooms. The men's changing room is functional and clean, but like much of the building, showing signs of wear. Showers are a bit old fashioned and gloomy, but acceptable. The pool water was a bit cloudy the day I went, but that was unusual. As a result of a high poolside wall and pool size, the pool is a bit 'splashy'. One would hope for something a bit better and more modern in this day and age, but there we are. CD is a small town and probably lucky to have even this and I guess it is better than nothing. Postscript: I was not impressed to find the price of swimming for pensioners not on benefits has recently doubled to £4.70.

Positive experience: Usual Council facility with a sauna that doesn't work and hasn't for well over a year! I really only use it for the great aquarobics class.

Positive experience: Great pool with great staff, it isn't the biggest of swimming pools but it is inexpensive to use and great for learning to swim as it isn't too deep. Recommended to not buy goggles from their though as they are also expensive.

Fantastic experience: Not a full size pool but is clean, well kept and has very friendly, professional staff. Can be busy at times ie Friday early evening and Saturday all day but worth going and also has a gym which you can join separately. Great place!

Fantastic experience: I swam here and went to the gym for a good couple of years when our YMCA did a 'swim and gym' theme night each week! Really enjoyed it and the pool had a deep end.

Negative experience: Called before i bought my one year old to see if it was a heated pool, the girl said yes. Got there and the pool was cold. Also the water got my son sick good ol case of tonsillitis.
