Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility: Opinions
Positive experience:
Negative experience: Parking is shocking. Overbooked for all events resulting in no Parking spaces . When you park on the road you get a ticket by the council. Worst run facility I've ever seen . Would be easy to get 1000 people to verify this . AVOID
Fantastic experience: Great place and staff
Fantastic experience: Good place Friendly staff and football coaches. (junior) Ample parking space.
Fantastic experience: Judo Competition all ok. Good service food is not super great but will fill Your belly. Toilets ok
Fantastic experience: Delighted to discover this amenity , shame it's in North Lanarkshire we live South so have to pay double £120 as opposed to £60 for the yearly activage card Fantastic facilities , great badminton set up Cafeteria a bit lacking in products , not very appealing ...but overall the centre is Magnificent
Fantastic experience: Great place for sports and family fun
Positive experience: Trying to get parked at venue was ridiculous took over half an hour to get a parking space and enter venue, delaying the event I was going to due to participants not being able to get in
Positive experience: Great multi sports facility. Needs a wee freshing up in communal areas thou
Positive experience: Very nice facility
Fantastic experience: A well run sport centre that caters for all sports and events...

Fantastic experience: I had a medical emergency and all staff where amazing
Fantastic experience: Fantastic Sports facilities I went to the Scottish sumo open
Fantastic experience: Excellent service and friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Good facilities. Cafe is a bit small and not a lot of choice
Fantastic experience: Love the gym
Positive experience: I attended a Scottish Gymnastics event in which two of my Granddaughters were competing. A very impressive set up. A vast array of sporting facilities are available. Also there is an excellent playground adjacent to the center. The only negative point is that there is not a pedestrian crossing at between the main entrance and the playground. A busy road runs between the two.
Positive experience: bus ran past us at 9pm and then came back at 9:30 not in service which resulted in me and my pals to walk
Fantastic experience: Great events on for all types of sport. My kids attend different footballing activities actoss the week. Staff in the canteen are great located upstairs are great, food is decent.
Fantastic experience: This place is amazing ive never been before so much going on
Positive experience: Played a football tourney here.. Good facilities and good changing area
Positive experience: Amazing arena. Only fault is quality of spectator seating. Next time you visit take a cushion.
Positive experience: Lots of national judo events held here
Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic facility. The football pitches inside are huge. Was here for a football tournament. Cafe offers some lovely food and I didn’t think the prices were bad at all. The indoor football pitches have seating aswell so great for the parents to have somewhere to sit.
Positive experience: Twice I have told them about the Watt Bikes not working correctly and their still not fixed
Positive experience: Ideal sports facility. Car park can be a bit mental but that's nothing to do with the sports centre. Just bad driving
Fantastic experience: We went here a few days after Christmas for a pantomime. Plenty of parking, staff were helpful and pleasant. The pantomime was also very good.
Positive experience: Went to the Panto at Ravenscraig will definitely be back next year , was great, with lots of laughs, great family fun!!
Fantastic experience: Joined this gym. Staff are super helpful and always there to advise or help. Toilets nice and clean all gum equipment spotless love it here
Fantastic experience: We went for the Panto and absolutely loved it, it was spacious, and comfy would definitely like to Panto here again
Fantastic experience: Attended the panto and have to say this is actually a better venue than the civic by far. Cast were excellent as always - great show - we all loved it!
Fantastic experience: Great sports facility. I personally use the gym, well maintained, clean and up to date equipment. Sports halls are first class and the cafe is good too.
Fantastic experience: Superb facility and great venue for this year’s Motherwell Pantomime ‘Jack & the Beanstalk’
Positive experience: Only popped in for booster vaccinations - jags went well!
Positive experience: This is a great facility, it's let down by the parking facilities. There is a large overspill car park but, presumably due to its poor condition, people don't use it so it gets chaotic at busy times as people try to park as close to the main entrance as they possibly can.
Fantastic experience: Well organised and helpful staff great pantomime Good night kids loved it too thankyou
Negative experience: Too small car parking. I got a fine for parking on the verge.
Fantastic experience: Only there for winter vaccines. It was unusually warm, everyone was friendly and efficient
Fantastic experience: Travelled there to see GB handball team play Finland.. Excellent facilities.
Negative experience: No disabled space to park all full had to walk to reception to get a wheelchair, then told I need to use a lift as it was first floor for COVID injection disgrace
Fantastic experience: Boxing event; Amazing institute and environment, ppl from all over the earth; ergo the Talent too. Don't miss out, Ur loss not mine.
Positive experience: Great facilities, only disappointment is with such great availability of park, including disabled and motorcycle the fact there's no ev charging is a massive disappointment. Would be perfect for here.
Positive experience: Difficult to walk into due to steep slope and door angle got very dizzy
Fantastic experience: A small but very good gym with a great variety of equipment and really nice helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: Been here a couple times now for the boxing Scotland event huge big place plenty activities for families and so on also huge big car park aswell for easy parking
Negative experience: This place should have been an anolimpic swimming pool . But the council cut corners .and we'd got this
Fantastic experience: Great facilities well laid out easy to get parked
Negative experience: Venue is great, car parking is a nightmare at the weekends. Give yourself between 30-60 mins extra to ensure you can get parked & walk to venue. Majority of the time there are no spaces in the carpark or overflow carpark.
Fantastic experience: Went for flu jab. The room which is much smaller is on the first floor. Needs bigger sign to tell you where to go. Went for a coffee in the cafe after that. All staff are very friendly & helpful!!
Fantastic experience: Great facility with clean toilets and good access for wheelchair users
Fantastic experience: Great place to go and do sports and to get your vaccines plenty parking places
Fantastic experience: A huge sports complex with well equipped gym, sport hall to play various racket sports. Football pitches and offers various classes.
Positive experience: Very busy community facility, was great to see so much going on
Positive experience: Went for COVID booster and flu jab. Be warned - if you have an appointment on a Sunday morning parking is an absolute nightmare, even with a blue badge! And if you are disabled or need to use the lift for some reason (the injections are being given on the 1st floor) you will need a code from reception!
Negative experience: I went for my vaccation wait for an hour and then told me they couldn't give me one because I was not old enough so why did they send me a letter
Fantastic experience: Great sporting facilities with football parks and indoor gymnastics. Also not long opened a play park next to it but could do with a bit more round as it is the middle of now we're
Positive experience: I like to play badminton here but the air conditioning is never on or not working so the halls are always far too warm, especially when you start running about,
Positive experience: Great gym and pitches. Fantastic sporting facilities. Lovely professional staff.
Fantastic experience: Just went to a massive indoor market there. There is a cafe. The gym part looked very good.
Fantastic experience: Went too park with my son great place he loved it great facilities in complex aswell
Fantastic experience: Plenty of space in the car park. We took our daughter there at 10:30am on a Saturday for a dancing show (hip hop) and we were able to get parking no problem even though it was really busy when we got there. We were back at about 12:30pm and again at around 4:30pm/5:00pm and got parking with no problems. The facilities were great for the needs of our daughter and the rest of the kids there for the dancing show. The facilities for the parents and other spectators were great. Nice day out for our daughter. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: The gym is very clean and hygienic, with lots of different resources, and the halls and football pitch are very good. Overall, a great place for sports, with lots of activities available.
Fantastic experience: As my gym has been closed for renovation I have been using this modern gym and with a 3.5km either way a good all round work out
Negative experience: Went for covid jag badly sign posted . Had to go to first floor ,this is not suitable for 75 years old and over
Positive experience: It's very big with lots to do and lots of equipment. Only things missing are a swimming pool and a sauna.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities, every large town in Scotland should have a facility just like this. It really is the way forward
Fantastic experience: A great place for events, facility are perfect and easy to access. free parking
Fantastic experience: Kids always enjoy it here on their bike skates or just to play on the park
Fantastic experience: Great place for family relaxation, sport grounds for kids. If you are a sport person, you can also register with them.
Fantastic experience: Good Venue, which includes gym, free weights area, football pitches, sand pit for long jump 100 meter track and gymnastics area. Good indoor and outdoor football training areas, good gym area. Best leg equipment I've seen for a while in any gym.
Fantastic experience: Went there for my 2nd covid vaccine. They were practising social distancing, everyone was very helpful, and I was in and out in around 10 mins. Good experience.
Fantastic experience: Only been there for vaccinations but they have a fab playpark over the road and there also seems to be loads of halls and sports areas to facilitate the community!
Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities. Great friendly staff. Plenty car parking spaces. Nice selection ov hot and cold food and drinks .
Fantastic experience: Everywhere I go there is always a Tesco fuel station which I am great full for and there fuel is always clean as I also take my car too as my wife does too as I have also got the rest of my family going to Tesco fuel stations too , thanks again Tesco .
Fantastic experience: 10 out of 10 for the service provided. Well done, hard times for the last few years. Keep going.
Positive experience: Sorry to disappoint but was only there for booster jab and flu jab but is an impressive space with multiple sports halls also outside 5 aside pitches and large play park outside and plenty of parking
Negative experience: Dreadful wait of around 45 minutes standing in a queue waiting for my flu/COVID booster jags. Seemed less efficiently organised than last year.
Positive experience: Came oot wi' a teer in ma een and twa sair erms....smaa price tae pay if it keeps the coovide awa.....
Fantastic experience: Great facilities plenty of equipment in the park kiosk has a good selection of snacks reasonable priced plenty of walks in the surrounding area
Positive experience: Decent facilities but they need to stop overbooking every weekend and leaving the car park inaccessible
Fantastic experience: A visit to get a vaccination. Straight in, straight to check in the vaccination. All done quickly and professionally
Fantastic experience: Attended for vaccination but also the midnight walk for st andrews hospice, very spacious
Positive experience: The play park across from the Sports stadium is very good. Aimee at kids from 3 - 13 in general. Adults will like it as it has lots of seats and places to play E buggies and bags. Make sure you walk (or run) around the running track. It’s all shiny and new and gives a strong nod to the history of Ravenscraig as it features steel works throughout. Also has world flowers, areas to walk. A wooden ‘hut’ that serves food and even outdoor exercise machines, aimed at older kids and adults x
Negative experience: No one is there to answer the phone, myself and my colleagues had a work event on the football pitches. This was cancelled without knowledge, we turned up and i had to pay from my own pocket for the pitch we had already paid for. One of my female colleagues were also not offered any changing facilities. Would not go near this place better off using Wishaw sports centre in my opinion. Demeaner was totally unacceptable from the staff i would terminate my own staff for this type of attitude and conduct total waste of time
Negative experience: No one is there to answer the phone, its as if they don't want business tried 10+ times to call between myself and others to book a park with no answer we were given a credit for a pitch over a month ago and were told we cannot use it unless the employee that gave us it authorised it. surely there would be some sort of note somewhere to let them know when we called to use it. we were also given no receipt or reference number for the credit. totally unacceptable and a waste of time and money. Avoid at all costs
Fantastic experience: Was watching my son's football team play on the astro pitches, the football pitch was clean no litter lying around. The cafe was nice and the food was too! Staff were friendly.
Fantastic experience: Excellent sport venue. Just wish it had squash courts and a swimming pool. Plenty parking spaces. And disabled spaces spread in different pars of the car park. Staff are friendly and professional. There is also I cafe located up stairs. Lifts are available.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful facility and easy to get to.
Negative experience: A large steel building that resembles an aircraft hanger..Journey felt like singing 'here we go around the roundabout, if you can pass the smount of colourful.graffiti. BTW spelling is not a strong point of person who enjoys covering areas in vivid red spay paint. Next the 'new play area' opened by Princess A.. It looks as if it has been there since the dinosaurs ruled earth! A big steel ++ of frames...at what cost I ask myself.. surely it could have looked better.. Throw on graffiti and wow a typical lanarkshire play area. I use term loosely!! North Lanarkshire Council voting is just days away. Wishaw is a drink & drug area openly swigging from a bottle of buckfast. It is the drink or drug misuse.. Graffiti art. Can you not be more productive than a non sensible signature. Motherwell you have links with centre.. use it.. back to ravenscrsig..aww flight snnounced.. oh well NLC if you want votes for any party on 5th get your act going & clean.off graffiti. You & parties state the moon served on a silver platter well.serve it now .
Negative experience: Bar prices were shocking to the point where the cost for the same round of drinks from 3 different bar persons was not the same each time. Contrary to the restrictions in place at the venue very, very few people were wearing masks when moving around the venue. A large area near the bar was littered with discarded drinks cans, food, plastic cups and spilled drink therefore very sticky underfoot. Although these issues are possibly more to do with the event organisers than the venue they did contribute to my experience. On the plus side the toilets ( ladies) were clean and well maintained.
Fantastic experience: An amazing indoor and outdoor athletic facility located minutes from Central Motherwell. Very affordable fees, award winning architecture.
Positive experience: Enjoyed 1st visit to gym, although we walked around the outside of the building twice before we found the entrance. Reception is closed and the signs showing the alternative entrance stop about 200 yds from temporary entrance. No sign on door to show how to get into the building.
Positive experience: Took my son to a football game. Hadn't been there for years. Nice surprise seeing all the new facilities. Play park, cycle track, well equipped play part. Lovely area for picnic. Fabulous
Fantastic experience: Got the bus to the park ever half hour toilets and food place not open yet, my grandson (6) had a great time lots for him to do will be going back.
Fantastic experience: Massive complex. Lots of classes/activities for all ages and levels. General gym membership allows use of both a reasonably standard gym with all the normally expected equipment and a much lesser used power lifting/weightlifting area with multiple platforms and full racks. Changing rooms are decent. Football pitches are good with both indoor and outdoor spaces provided. Sports halls available for booking as well. Large modern (as of summer 2021) playpark right across the road. Huge, never full, car park as well.
Fantastic experience: Great sports centre offering a wide range of activities, from gymnastics to football to the outdoor running track and play park. The centre really provides a needed service to the surrounding area and produces top class athletes. Constant improvements to the facility keep the venue updated to provide a high level of service.
