Negative experience: Business only interested in taking your money. They don't do direct debit payments and instead request you pay by standing order. I should have realised from the start this was a red flag as this is presumably done to avoid the customer being protected by direct debit guarantee? Insist on direct debit, if they refuse then it tells you all you need to know. Business did not suspend payments during lockdown and played the "we're a small gym who can't afford to suspend payments" card, but promised to add the lost time to the end of contract. So, whilst I'm not in the habit of paying for services i dont receive, I decided that to support local business I would continue to pay £99 a month joint contract fee in good faith that the 5 months without access to facilities would be provided at the end of my contract. surprise surprise; business now refuses to add the lost time. The owner Ivan outride lied to me (he told me, in black and white, that he would add the lost time to the end of my contract and now refuses...). I assume the sole reason for his lie was to get me to pay them money for a service they did not provide. In effect, they have stolen my money. I tried to resolve amicably and requested either a refund or the lost time added on, only to be told they wouldn't do either because they put on the odd zoom class and also all members were given an unlimited membership upgrade.... the membership tier I was already on and paying for. So not only have I been forced to pay for a service I did not receive, they have informed me I've lost out on free upgrades given to everyone else....because I was already paying more for it Beyond absurd, isn't it? Half the weights equipment is either broken or falling apart, no heating in winter. The dumbbells are canny and they do have a great range up to 60kg i believe, so I'll give them that! they have about half a dozen punch bags hung up which you can use when its quiet (when its busy their group classes get priority of the space) the missus also enjoyed their group sessions so its a shame to have it all slip away due to poor management. Overall, my recommendation is to avoid. Many other far far cheaper alternatives available, pretty much all of which provide a wider range of gym equipment, classes and have longer opening hours (gym only open half day Sat and shut Sunday) The location was ideal for me but after the unprofessional handling of the current situation I'd prefer to do a 10 minute drive and go elsewhere. EDIT// Looks like they've closed/gone bust (They've deactivated their FB, and members are saying its closed on social media), sorry for the staff who worked there and good luck in future endeavours. As much i dislike having my money stolen i wouldn't wish anyone to lose their graft (all i wanted was what I already paid for and was promised) I do hope people took heed of my advice and did not pay by transfer/standing order because i doubt you'll get your money back if you did. If it were me and I paid by direct debit or debit/credit card I would be contacting my bank and requesting either a direct debit recovery or a chargeback under 'services paid for but not provided' as soon as possible to make sure I got my coin back. Fantastic experience: Great team, something different everyday. Covid safe - squares are not too close together and cleaning stuff in every square
