Fantastic experience: Joined here September this year, I’ve always been inconsistent but since I’ve spoken with the PTs here such as Lee, Ash and Lewis I am a lot more consistent and Lee writing me up a food plan making it more easier for me to gain weight again after falling off track. Most comfortable gym I’ve been in.
Fantastic experience: Cool small gym, opened 24/7. Very friendly staff and gym members alike. Great personal trainers to help if needed.
Negative experience: ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. Nobody told me this was a 12-MONTH CONTRACT, and now I’m getting non-stop harassment — texts almost every week and phone calls once in a while. I tried to raise the issue, but my concerns were completely ignored, They even change numbers to contact me which is HARASSMENT which goes against Anytime Fitness’s promise to treat members’ concerns respectfully and professionally. THE FIRST PERSONAL TRAINER SEEMED OKAY AT FIRST, BUT THE SECOND I SAID I WANTED TO STOP HIS SERVICES, EVERYTHING FLIPPED. He accused me of being a perv just because I asked for one session with a female trainer, Even the manager was there and he lied about no hearing it when he was working out right next to us BTW and then the first PT made my workout ridiculously hard on purpose, leaving me in pain for days, This is all because i wanted to stop his services, He saw my bank by mistake and he seen me as a money bank, It seemed the money i was giving him for his sessions was going on junk food, He lashed out about the perv thing all because i wanted to stop the sessions, I told him about what i bought off amazon and he said, I should stop buying from amazon, Felt like he was using me for money, This is a clear violation of their harassment and bullying policies and their standards for staff conduct, which require employees to act professionally and treat members with respect. Another trainer? Pure arrogance. I texted him saying “Yo,” and weeks later, when I asked for a workout routine, he was rude and dismissive when he was sitting in the male changing rooms, strutting around like he owned the gym, He thinks Yo is disrespectful, Get a grip, This behavior directly breaks Anytime Fitness’s rules that staff must be professional, courteous, and create a safe, supportive environment for members. And the manager? Every interaction was unprofessional. They consistently dismissed my complaints, swept reports under the rug, and protected staff instead of enforcing accountability, This type off manager is the type to lie about not hearing on what the first PT accused me off when he was working out, He said he didn't hear but HE DID, I know he did, Why did he even single me out and say the banter between me and male PT 1 was rude?, Seems like i was singled out, He brushed everything under the rug instead off doing anything about it, Fitness claims that management must investigate complaints fairly and support members, yet I experienced none of that. The membership contract itself is misleading and predatory, designed to trap people who didn’t fully understand the terms. Combined with the constant texts and occasional calls about payment, this crosses the line into harassment. Members are supposed to be informed clearly and treated fairly, yet I felt trapped and ignored. Thanks for “showing me the way” on what to do in the gym on somethings, NOT ALL, but I won’t be coming back. This place is GREEDY, TOXIC, AND DANGEROUS. Paying customers get ignored. If you value your sanity, health, and money, STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ANYTIME FITNESS BIRKENHEAD. I’ve noticed the club replying to other 1-star reviews but still ignoring mine. My review involves how I was treated by a members of staff, who is still working there and is being protected by management. Their silence says more than anything I could write.
Negative experience: One of the worst experiences and gym. I have been member with other gyms but wanted to try this new gym. The management has been only mentally abusive even though i have left the country due to visa circumstances they still insisted to pay for the services i have never used and passed it on to the collection agency. Please have a better professional management.

Negative experience: Advertising offers that they claim are not available anymore once they've harvested your information. Then they constantly send you what's app messages at 1.45am.

Fantastic experience: The gym is well-equipped and spacious. Being open 24/7 without regard to timetables, and never seeing it overcrowded or people waiting for equipment. The gym's staff is continuously working to keep it clean and tidy.

Fantastic experience: amazing gym highly recommend to anyone what makes this gym so special is every single gym instructor makes you feel welcome and they always encourage anyone no matter what your fitness level is. personally for me I have always suffered with my mental health massively and sometimes coming to the gym can feel very overwhelming at times but never worry because the team there check in with you and make sure your okay and encourage you to come back with amazing support and understanding shout out to Lewis who personally got me back into the gym by sending me a little message

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience working out at the gym for over 6 months now. The exceptional customer service by Renata and the staff, made everything a breeze. Visiting the gym was the highlight of my day after a rough day at work. State of the art equipment, always clean and ready for use. Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!! It is a franchise, so all gyms may not act the same but the owners of the Birkenhead branch are utterly terrible. I finished my contract a few months ago as it had finished, but little dif I know they had put me on a rolling contract until 2099! They kept calling and texting asking for money saying my rolling contract meant I had to keep paying until I put it in writing. I refused as I was unaware of this, I was no longer under contract, and repeatedly told staff I had ended my contract as I was sold it. On a six month basis. I recieved a notification some months later from my bank stating that they has re-set up a direct debit without my knowledge or consent. Staff said they didn't know why this happened. Since then I have been bombarded with phone calls. I block them and they still manage to contact me. It's utter harassment! They have now sent the matter to a debt collectors which I am receiving threats for legal action. It's not worth the hassle. I have spoken to another ex member who also has had the same issues. STAY CLEAR.

You joined on a 6-month minimum contract but unfortunately cancelled after only 4 months, meaning the agreement was not yet fulfilled. Our team made multiple attempts to contact you and offer support, but with no resolution, the matter was eventually passed to a third-party agency — always a last resort. All terms, including the rolling continuation after the minimum period, are clearly outlined in your agreement and welcome email. Fantastic experience: First time I've consistently gone to the gym. Staff are very helpful and friendly and they often do "challenges" to keep you motivated if you are struggling to find it yourself. Has all the equipment needed for a full body workout and regular classes. Would recommend this gym to anyone, Newbie - Pro.

Negative experience: Terrible communication with the contracts. If you have financial problems some of them won’t care or listen and won’t reason with you to help out. Only one did and she understood. Miss payments you get £12 added on your bill. Don’t tell you if you do a contract especially 12 month contract that you have to pay over £100 just to cancel the subscription and even if you cancel the subscription you still have to pay for the next month after which for a gym is just absolutely ridiculous. Multiple times I’ve said I’m having financial problems and still just try and rinse your bank. Absolute joke!

Fantastic experience: Came in from Georgia (USA) for a wedding in Liverpool. Saw this location pop up, and was very impressed. Easily one of the better AF I've accessed. Spacious, plenty of equipment in excellent condition, spacious studio room, clean changing area. Would absolutely attend next time I'm in the area. Cheers!

Fantastic experience: Really enjoy this gym it's a safe place to workout and make friends. Everyone is so friendly and can get along with everybody. The staff are lovely and always help you. They always have a smile on there face and always tell you how amazing you're doing in the gym. I am making so much progress since coming here i am made up It's a really nice place to workout and even better open 24/7. Boss equtiment and also loads of classes you can get involved in.

Negative experience: The management is inadequate to say the least staff members are rude and unhelpful boarding on bullying payments are taken when they feel like it the worst gym in Birkenhead just avoid it there are many more places with better equipment staff and price

Fantastic experience: Left a few months ago as I moved out of the area, but AF Birkenhead is genuinely the best gym I've been at. Friendly staff, nice community of regulars and a ton of great equipment. Also, shout-out to Ashley one of the PTs. I've had a few PTs before but wanted to learn to lift safely and fix my diet to help gain weight. Ashley did exactly that for me, and also helped me look at lifting differently, focusing on how I felt and the mind-muscle connection rather than just aiming for bigger numbers and set routines. Haven't had a gym injury due to improper lifting since, and feel much more comfortable switching my routines when needed.

Fantastic experience: I'm happy I've joined the staff are friendly and the equipment is decent. Also it's never super busy, it's just a steady flow of people so you're not waiting for machines. Plus I've joined some of the challenges to keep me busy. Its also clean and tidy.

Negative experience: Was in on a break from elsewhere in the country, just needed a day pass. Said they were open according to opening hours, door was locked, pressed the bell to be let in several times, and waited no one answered. Not giving my money to people who are going to mess me around, maybe actually open the gym when you're open and staffed.

Visitors need to ring the door bell for attention. Our staff member went to get the door, but you were gone when they came upstairs. Fantastic experience: Really cool atmosphere and staff. I've trained in a few gyms over the years on the Wirral and found that Anytime fitness has all that anyone could need, both in equipment, friendly staff and a good vibe with other customers!

Fantastic experience: this gym is an credit to Birkenhead and what lovely people to tell the truth when I got out jail I was homeless and and our anytime fitness helped get through it something I will never forget and if u want to start a healthy lifestyle and get in shape with lovely warm happy people this is the place for u can't thank enough

Fantastic experience: I rate this gym 5 star when I first started the gym I wasn't in a good place, however since I started coming more my self confidence has improved and my self esteem has too. Also I've notice my mental health is alot better.I am more motivated. I come to the gym 5 days a week so days I come early before going to college. This helps me start off with a postive day. Anytime fitness is very clean. Also the staff are welcoming and friendly there always there to help and sometime motivated me.

Fantastic experience: I've deleted my original review that left two Stars over the cost of a replacement fob being £20, However, I can't fault this gym. The staff are welcoming and friendly, it is ALWAYS clean and well presented and with air conditioning, the equipment is to a high standard and you can use your fob at AF branches across the UK, this is an absolute game changer! This gym is an asset to Birkenhead and is bright, spacious, and airy, my only criticism Is I feel the vending machine is priced a little too expensive for a bottle of water, there are however free to use water fountains (but I prefer bottled water!) Seriously, I can see me being a member here for a very long time!

Fantastic experience: Joined in September and am very glad I did, the staff are lovely and helpful as well as the members. The welcoming environment motivated me to be more active and outgoing. There’s lots of machines and space to workout, not too overcrowded and it’s in the middle of town so easy to get to.

Fantastic experience: All the staff and customers are always helpful, polite and friendly, as are the PT’s. My PT Ashley is not just a great instructor but also has become a friend who is very knowledgable, supportive and always there for me.

Fantastic experience: One of the best Anytime’s I’ve been to. I travel all over and have been to plenty. This one is tidy and well equipped. So much space that you won’t feel crowded - especially in the functional fitness/cardio zones. Staff like Renata and Grace help make you feel extra welcome visiting the gym. Fresh AF!

Positive experience: Very friendly and helpful staff. Good facilities. Clean. All age groups. No lycra in sight - just trainers and tracksuits. Some years ago there was a relatively large membership price increase which was too much at the time. So left. Good to their word, membership was monthly and there was no small print dragging me into a longer contract. All good - except the price at the time.

Fantastic experience: I like everything - the equipment is easy to use after I've been shown how to use the machines. everybody is friendly - staff are friendly. Exercise helps with my anxiety so feel a lot more positive since joining the gym. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Visiting from New Zealand and delighted to be able to use my AF membership here in Birkenhead. Steve from the AF team was really friendly and helpful in getting me set up to use the gym here. Much bigger than my home gym in NZ, every bit of kit you could want, clean and uncrowded. Perfect!

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend Personal Trainer Ashley high enough. He's helping me get stronger even though I have long covid. He carefully watches my training to make sure I don't over exert. I've never had an injury with him but he still makes me work hard. He's cheerful, chatty, professional and really knows his stuff. I always look forward to our sessions and feel like he's made a massive contribution to my fitness and wellbeing. The gym itself is clean and stocked with excellent equipment. I can also recommend the yoga classes with Bev. She's a brilliant teacher and her sessions are always varied and interesting. Bev is always pleasant and welcoming and very good at tailoring the postures to suit people's individual capacities.

Fantastic experience: I've lost two stone in under two months while attending Anytime Fitness Birkenhead. I'm always greeted by friendly faces from both staff and other members. I've seen a huge change in my mood as well as my body since I started attending, and I look forward to every visit. Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym. Extremely friendly staff with wide ranging expertise to help newcomers and advanced gym goers in a modern 24/7 environment. Plenty of machines and free weights available as well as a functional area and studio for spin classes, HIIT training and yoga, etc. Classes are included in membership and can be booked online for convenience. Wash facilities and lockers are available and the gym is always clean. Free weights and machine weights go up to heavy weight for advanced lifters and functional area offers alternative exercise equipment such as ropes, resistance bands, kettle bells and recovery equipment such as theraguns and foam rollers. People who attend the gym are friendly and considerate of others and their needs. Great place to train!

Fantastic experience: In the past, I was always nervous about going into a gym but I never feel like that here. It is friendly, accessible. Everyone is amazing, everyone supports each other and there are services to help with any kind of need. A special shout out must go to the amazing staff who are super supportive and easy to talk to. Ash has been my PT for months and you've never met a more passionate and engaging trainer

Fantastic experience: I’m so happy to tell that the gym is the best in Birkenhead, the only 24 hour gym with all the equipments and hygiene. Staff and the trainers are very friendly and supportive. They keep organising some events to keep the clients motivated which is really impressive and mainly they keep a track of the clients progress and consistency. I personally want to thank Jett, the best trainer in the gym. He always gives me suggestions, advice and training tips and if I’m not coming to the gym he actually calls and enquires is everything okay and motivates me all the time.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Lots of equipment. Some quite specialised equipment like body composition machine that most gyms don't have. Free parking as well as cycle storage. Very clean and well run. Nice atmosphere. I can 100% recommend.
