We provide health and wellness services to women in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. We provide personal training, nutrition and mindset education. We aim to work with a small number of clients at a time. So we can provide only the best service to the clients we help and support.

Fantastic experience: I completed the 12 week program at Claire Adam’s Total Health in the months leading up to my wedding. As a newbie to exercise I was apprehensive about how I would adapt to the gym lifestyle- because that’s what it is, a lifestyle. On my own I have paid hundreds over the years in unused gym memberships, diet subscriptions, lifestyle apps and nothing stuck because I had little to no accountability. The wonderful team at C.A.T.H offer it in spades! The format of the small group training sessions allowed me to gain confidence but still receive tailored feedback. I never missed a session and what’s more, I looked forward to every one! My diet has never been the same. Weekly meal planning is now a part of my family’s routine. Fantastic experience: Ladies only workout space that brings community, health & fitness together. Classes are varied & out you through your paces with the emphasis on your pace. The team are knowledgeable & can help you to adapt each exercise to your ability. Meal plans weekly are good to give you structure in eating to match the workouts. All round good experience.

Fantastic experience: As someone who had declared I'd rather poke needles in my eyes than go to the gym, I cannot believe how excited I get about going to CATH. The trainers are friendly, funny and know their stuff. I'm 52, was beginning to feel weaker,a hot flushing mess and had various body parts that were making themselves known and the CATH team, and it is the whole team who look after us, have put me back together again, mentally and physically. 100% do it.

Fantastic experience: I’m typing this under my husband’s account but this review very much belongs to Kate Hardie! Signing up for the 12 week programme at Claire Adams is the best decision I’ve made in years. I’ve lost 2stone, changed my body shape and found ‘me’ again. The PTs ensure you get the most out of every session and are laser focussed on helping you reach your goals. Coupled with great nutrition advice and regular progress checks, I felt 100% supported. Alongside this I’ve enjoyed meeting lots of other ladies who encourage and celebrate your successes with you. Did I mention that it was fun too?! Claire has created something really special here. It doesn’t feel like a gym. It’s a community of members who meet and push themselves to be the best they can be at every session. Huge thanks to Claire, Lisa, Manos, Danielle and Pippa. Fantastic experience: I am 58 years young and had never stepped foot in a gym environment before joining C.A.T.H. I signed up initially for the 6 week programme ,had a great initial introduction with Lisa and booked 3 small group training sessions a week to keep me on track. I'll be honest the first session nearly killed me !! but also I found it a really supportive environment from both the coach and the other ladies many of whom have been coming for a while. I have carried on with 3 sessions a week ever since and have never once thought 'oh no I have to go to the gym today' But you don't just get exercise at C.A.T.H you get advice on meal planning and diet too. I discovered what I thought was a relatively good diet could actually be much improved which was a real eye opener to me and I now have a much more balanced diet and feel much better for it. I can book a check in whenever I want for a weigh in or just for general advice on how I'm doing. When my six weeks came to an end recently I had no hesitation in continuing my membership. The work out sessions are easy to book on the App and they are available from early morning into the evening so I can always find a slot which suits my working day. Claire has an amazing team. Lisa, Manos and Pippa are fantastic coaches and just as important they are fun people too. If you are thinking about joining..do it, you won't regret it

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend highly enough! I joined the 12 week programme and have loved it. I lost 14.2kg on the 12 week programme, and feel so much better in myself - in how I look, but also in my health. The team are so supportive and friendly and make the gym sessions a good laugh too. Who knew I would be enjoying gym sessions?! My nutrition has totally changed and I’m finding myself wanting to be more active, now getting into running too. I made use of recipes provided by the gym and weekly nutritional advice.

Fantastic experience: What a fabulous Team they are at CATH! I completed the 12 week Programme recently and can't recommend it highly enough. Clare, Danielle, Lisa & Manos were super instructors: approachable, skilled and supportive. You will be in safe hands. The small group training structure is ideal to build confidence and have that personalised targeted level of training. The other ladies participating (maximum 5) look out for each other and never judge. The food planning check-ins helped me keep on track with my nutrition. I achieved a lot and I learned that looking after your well being, whilst requiring discipline, can be fun! Go for it, you won't be disappointed. Thanks guys, great experience

Fantastic experience: I joined the 6 week programme with the hope that it would give me accountability, teach me about gym equipment and where to start, and set good habits. And all of those and more were completely delivered by the amazing team there. It’s soo welcoming and non intimidating and there’s lots of laughs, but also takes the work seriously, pushes you, and expects you to put in the effort. It worked so well for me. Special shout out to Lisa who went the extra mile, non judgemental, so kind and so fun. Couldn’t recommend more.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed the 6-week programme and it was brilliant. The trainers are super lovely! Really gave me the motivation I needed to exercise regularly and eat well. Perfect for me who was a total beginner to gym work. Also helped me heal up my diastasis recti as I was 5 months postpartum when I started. Got checked by a physio last week and my core is finally back! Would definitely have continued if I were not moving house soon. Many thanks Team CATH!

Fantastic experience: I hate exercise and I love going here. They are very supportive while also pushing you just enough to improve. Small classes mean you get individual attention, but it isn't as intense as one to one PT. The other women that attend are really friendly and welcoming; it is just a great atmosphere all up.

Fantastic experience: I’ve just finished the 6week programme & signed up for a continued membership. The 6 week was exactly what I needed: at 50 years old I know what I *should* be eating, how much I *should* be drinking & that exercise will keep me mentally & physically well - but work and family have constantly been the priority for the last few years so I’ve only felt bad about not doing the things I should. The CATH team takes care of all that: the food plans are helpful to remind & organise the week so I can make simple & healthy changes, the exercise sessions are fast paced and really well suited to each participant. The trainers are careful to explain and demonstrate each exercise & are on hand to make adjustments when necessary. Having followed a ‘bootcamp’ fitness programme some years ago & seriously damaged my knee, I really appreciate how different this set up is: the care taken to build the strength up without risking any further damage but still making sure I make the most of the session. Really happy with the results & delighted to be continuing. Bring it on!

Fantastic experience: Excellent 12 week transformation programme. I joined Claire Adams Total Health to kick start my journey back to fitness as I enter my 60's next year. I've build muscle, strength and balance, but most importantly I now have renewed confidence if the ability of my body to do amazing things. The team are fun and very supportive, the sessions are never the same twice, and the play lists are banging - so there no time to get bored or wish you weren't there :-) Definitely the best time I've had in a gym!

Fantastic experience: I joined CATH because I'd been away from exercising for a long time and had lost my motivation. The sessions are small so you get lots of assistance and advice.The team were so encouraging and knowledgeable from the start but importantly for me it is a great atmosphere with lots of good banter! I know the thought of going to a personal trainer seems daunting but it honestly doesn't feel like that at all, everyone is so encouraging and will put you at ease. I wish I'd done it earlier, I feel better than I have in a long time and can't recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I'd highly recommend 1-to-1 sessions with Claire. I contacted her initially because of her physio qualifications because I needed a personal trainer that could help me get my fitness back after a shoulder problem. I learned so much from her about how to work out and I will always be able to use what she taught me in my own training. The gym itself has a great atmosphere and all the staff are lovely.

Fantastic experience: Joining this health club was one of the best decisions. I feel great emotionally and stronger since I started eating healthy and working out, not to mention the steady weight loss. I have never enjoyed going to a GYM with crowds and not having guidance while exercising but this kind of program works for me because the sessions are only in small groups and the trainer can give advise and correct each person’s technique in order to get maximum use. The staff is lovely and dynamic with the planned exercises.

Fantastic experience: Claire Adams Toral Health has been fantastic for me. I’m fit again and look forward to the small group sessions. The encouragement to meal plan and help change behaviours has been a huge motivator. Fantastic experience: Saw the advert for Claire Adams Total Health (CATH) on Facebook. Knew that I needed to do something to improve my overall fitness and wellbeing so got in touch with Claire. After a prompt reply, the initial meeting clearly set out what the options were to meet my goals. Having 'dabbled' with gym memberships over the years and never really getting going, combined with my own lack of will power and commitment, joining CATH has been a turning point. I'm gradually progressing from being a mid-50's, out of shape, easily breathless woman that has found the CATH approach so helpful that I now get to three classes a week that keep me motivated, have built my stamina and resilience, where I've lost weight, lost inches across all bits of my body, and have improved my health generally. The team at CATH are as unique as the women that go. They are supportive but also push you to keep improving with their own different styles. Each class is different and mixes cardio with weights so that you get a full body work out that keeps you engaged and interested. I highly recommend the approach of the CATH team, and for anyone that needs that extra push for their motivation, this is the team for you.

Fantastic experience: Claire Adams Total Health is fantastic. I would highly recommend the gym to any women looking to become, stronger and healthier. I have never done any training like this before and am 7 weeks into my journey and am, much to my surprise, loving training. The team are great and the small, woman only, sessions mean you're not lost in a bigger gym environment. There are also lots of extra support in nutrition and motivation you can use as a member. Fantastic experience: I recently finished my 6-month programme with CATH and wanted to thank the team for the incredible experience. Claire, Lisa, Manos, Danielle and Shane were such knowledgeable experts in their respective fields - nutrition, wellness, training, strengthening and conditioning etc. Each class was always well thought out and effective, all while keeping a sense of fun. It was great to have the flexibility of classes throughout the day and at the weekend. The online support was also great, with meal planning, evening nutrition talks, and online modules. Fantastic experience: I have just finished the six week challenge at Claire Adams Total Health and have experienced great results! After surgery for a chronic pain disorder I needed a kick up the backside after being almost housebound and a little too kind to myself for a long time. CATH was the answer to my prayers. The ladies only, supportive environment was exactly what I needed as my confidence was at rock bottom. The 3 sessions a week were so fun and the nutritional advice and weekly videos really helped me kick back habits and make healthy, long term choices. All of the trainers were supportive and knowledgeable to help me on my journey. The impact on my mental health was almost immediate and my body changes followed shortly after. It was a great investment in myself and if you are considering it my advice would be to sign up and give it what you've got, it will always be a positive experience!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to the gym for almost a year. I have previously been a member of different gyms and had personal trainers in the past but with limited commitment by me- finding it too difficult to do it. At CATH - it’s different. I attend 3 to 4 times a week . The classes are never more than 5 people and so it’s extremely supportive. The coaches are great and the woman only gym was exactly what I was looking for. My mental health has improved so much, I am physically stronger than I have ever been and I love going to the gym (words I never thought I’d utter!). If you’re thinking of joining just go for it. Fantastic experience: This is a great gym with fantastic, knowledgeable and caring trainers. The classes are fun and the exercises are explained and demonstrated before you start. There are always options given if you can't do the full exercise and the trainers will ensure that you have the correct technique. There is also a wealth of nutrition information from the trainers and a nutritionist and they will advise you on your diet. There are also free Pilates and circuit classes-excellent value. I have lost 5Kg in 4 weeks, lost inches and feel fitter and stronger than I have in years. Thank you for all of your encouragement and support, you are a brilliant team!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been with Claire Adams Total Health for 5 months now. You are made to feel very welcome from the moment you walk through the door and the 6 week programme sets you up for success from the very beginning. The team genuinely care about you and your progress along with having a good laugh which is just as important! They make every effort to ensure you are safely progressing. The team are incredibly knowledgeable and ensure that exercises are adjusted for all abilities and any injuries whilst making sure to push you appropriately. Your results are reviewed regularly and it’s nice to see results outwith the scales through measurements and percentage body fat etc. I’ve done diet plans in the past and although I have lost considerable amounts of weight I have regained it. The nutrition advice given at CATH is sustainable and achievable whilst providing results. The team are only ever an email away if you are having difficulty or needing any extra advice. It has been a pleasure being a member of CATH and would have no problem about recommending. It’s ace being able to carry all my heavy shopping bags without any effort! UPDATE 2024 In a year I have lost 16.5kg and 30.5 inches. I have dropped 3-4 dress sizes. It always shocks me when I use a similar weight dumbbell in the gym and realise what that extra weight must have felt like to carry around all day. Claire’s background of being a physio is incredibly helpful and the team work hard to provide alternative options as required. I had never tried weight based training but was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it and how much it helped improve my ankle stability and strength. The monthly check in keeps you accountable with your goals. I also really enjoy looking at the more in depth results from the body scan such as percentage body fat and visceral fat level. All of which have reduced. There’s no convenient time to start a lifestyle change but you soon get used to attending and building the sessions into your routine. There is such a range of session times that you will be able to find a time that suits you and your body. Think about where you could be a year from now if you start!

Fantastic experience: I started with Claire and her team as an overweight, tired, and sluggish 50+ woman with sore and stiff joints having previously tried every diet and many gyms including personal trainers. 18 months in, the biggest shock is that my joints no longer hurt and it's literally all down to Claire and her team guiding me in a different direction of health, nutrition, exercise and wellbeing. I have discovered that consistency is key and with regular sessions, it hasn't taken long for me to notice massive improvements with each session leaving me feeling stronger and fitter. Claire runs a really welcoming gym where it doesn't matter what stage you are at, everyone supports each other. The team are highly skilled at what they do, and their encouragement and motivation is second to none. My top tip would be to sign up to the 6-week programme and try it - what have you got to lose?

Fantastic experience: I have been going to CATH since June 2022. I wanted to improve my fitness and lose weight! I soon started making progress and after a few weeks it was such an easy decision to continue! Aside from meeting my own short term goals I quickly realized that being part of CATH was about investing in my long term health. Building muscle, improving cardio fitness and learning how to eat properly are things that are important life skills. Now I have much longer term goals and a commitment to myself to continue. The gym sessions are enjoyable, the nutrition guidance invaluable and the check ins keep you on track and motivated. More recently I have been going through some chemotherapy. . I am now having personal sessions twice a week which are thoughtfully planned, flexible for how I might be feeling on the day , and definitely bring something valuable to me physically and mentally. You can’t fail to feel good about yourself after a session!

Fantastic experience: I started with Claire Adams 6 weeks ago and I've lost 20inchs across my body and 9lbs in that time. With 3 X 50mins classes per week, meal plans, support and a lot of laughs along the way too. The team are great! I have never exercised like this in my life and I'm enjoying it so much. And I love feeling stronger and fitter and leaner. Would definitely recommend for anyone that needs a kick start to their health. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I recently completed the 6 week foundation programme with Claire Adams. I signed up to educate myself and strengthen my body. I was nervous and not fully convinced I had the drive to get through the 6 weeks before I even started. I had zero experience within a gym setting so I was starting from scratch. Upon entering the gym for the first time I was greeted by another client with a smile from ear to ear, quickly followed by a handshake and introduction by the personal trainer. It was onwards and upwards from this point forward. Everyone I met was so supportive and helpful. Each session was challenging but achievable. Much to my surprise I started to fall in love with working out. Exercises that I struggled with were adapted for me to allow me to be comfortable during the session. After a couple of weeks I felt stronger, the following weeks I could see a change in my body shape. In 6 weeks I lost 5kg 14inches and 3.8% body fat! What I gained in confidence cannot be measured! If you are reading this thinking "should I sign up" just do it! Best decision I've made in a very long time!

Fantastic experience: After my 6 week induction period, I had no hesitation in joining up to the Inner Circle. In common with many of you reading this review, I have tried so many gym memberships and left having used them too little and feeling no connection with the place. The trainers at Claire Adams are excellent, making everyone feel welcome and giving impressive individual attention to each member's needs and goals.I have never been in a group of more than 4 and the other members are friendly and encouraging. I've met a wide range of women and enjoyed easy cameraderie as well as inspiration from those who have been working on their fitness much longer. I haven't made enough use of the website materials yet but it is impressive in content and the booking software is so easy. I have already lost 13 inches from my starting measurements and feel stronger and generally more alive. This is proving by far the best investment I have belatedly made in myself.

Fantastic experience: I joined in January on the 6 weeks beginners course. After that I didn’t want to stop. I have joined many gyms in my life and have never actually wanted to keep coming back. You get so much support you’re never left wondering “am I doing this right?” I’ve had some really good results in terms of weight loss but more than that I’ve managed to gain a sustained change to a healthier lifestyle. Fantastic experience: I have been struggling with menopause weight for the last several years. Saw Claire Adams online and really liked the fact it was women only. Been a member now for 8 weeks and I am absolutely ecstatic at my results. Besides being down, inches and kilos I’m also re wiring my thought process on food. Without Claire Adams giving me the tools to do this I would probably be in the same rut. ABSOLUTELY love the this gym, the staff, the classes and their positive attitude.

Fantastic experience: Signing up to Claire Adams Total Health has been the best decision I have made in a long time and the best money spent. I never thought I would get to the level of fitness that I am at only after a couple of months. Although I am not dropping loads of weight on the scales my body shape is changing for the better and clothes are starting to hang off of me which I am amazed at. The classes are well structured and all of the team at CATH are supportive and encouraging and you even get a good laugh with the other ladies!!! Fantastic experience: I was really struggling to lose weight post-menopause. I'd tried various diet & exercise regimes but nothing was working any more - I'd get so far and then the weight loss just stopped. Following a health check which flagged up a worrying cholesterol reading, I realised something had to be done and quick. I spotted an ad for Claire Adams Total Health on Facebook and decided to give the 6-week Foundation course a try. It's not the cheapest option but my God, it was worth every penny! Since starting around 8 weeks ago I've lost over 10lbs which is a lot when you're only 4ft11. My shape has changed too and clothes are fitting me a lot better. My eating (and drinking) habits have completely changed and I'm starting to see muscles where before there was only flab! The fact it's such a small gym with only female members makes it a lot less daunting than joining a larger gym if you feel at all self-conscious. The instructors demonstrate how to use the equipment and do the exercises properly and safely, and will adjust the sessions to your fitness level. The amount of moral support is fantastic too - I had a bit of a wobble after a couple of weeks because I thought I wasn't making any progress, but Aileen had a Zoom call with me, calmed me down, looked at my food plan and told me what I was doing wrong - sure enough, by the following week the weight loss started again. I'm now continuing as an Inner Circle member for a further 3 months which should get me to my target weight. Give it a try, honestly - it works!

Fantastic experience: Claire and her team made me feel very welcome and encouraged me to keep on track. Video call feedback on planned food plans for the week which enabled me to tweak anything. The weekly programs were very informative with helpful tips to support nutrition etc. Although the maximum amount is 5 in class at any one time, I saw it as 121 because the fitness trainers were very vigilant and would always correct body positioning, lifting techniques etc to prevent any injury. I was very fortunate to have 121’s with Struan and Hayleigh. They weren’t tough on me but very encouraging to push on, thank you for that. My 6 week program went well and I achieved what I set out to do. I’d like to thank everyone of you for helping me get back on track. I would recommend this program. Y

Fantastic experience: The CATH team have been amazing. I just completed my first six weeks and I'm seeing actual sustainable results. Not just from the exercise, but also knowing what and how to eat. The personal trainers are really committed, helpful and all have a great attitude (and a sense of humour!) and they definitely motivate us to do better and to get stronger and healthier. The thing I like the most is that the small group training is for women of all ages, sizes, body types and abilities. Because it's a small group, everyone gets a bit of individual attention. I found that really helpful because I'm really interested in technique so to be able to ask questions was really important (and it helped me to be more motivated and have better results!) I would highly recommend to any woman who wants to make a positive change-it's not about just looks, it's about wellbeing, health and putting yourself first!

Fantastic experience: I found CATH after seeing an ad on Instagram and made a spur of the moment decision to join up as I'd been suffering from low moods and wanted to do something to make me feel better about myself. I couldn't have made a better choice! The team at the gym are so warm and welcoming and they are all focused on making sure you feel comfortable but also that you're being challenged. I signed up for the 6-week Foundation course and have decided to stay on as a member as I'm enjoying it so much. Fantastic experience: Claire and her team are absolutely lovely. Having not been in a gym in a very long time my confidence wasn’t great but everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The gym is very clean, small but well equipped. There is limited capacity for each session (5 I think) so you get to know the PTs well and they spend time getting to know you and what you’re looking to achieve as well as finding and adapting to your abilities. Everyone is at different ability levels but given the small group you don’t feel under pressure or uncomfortable, everyone is encouraging. There are various online sessions too from yoga and check-ins to help with nutrition and any other queries to support you. Claire has created something really special and you can tell she has poured her heart and soul into making CATH the environment it is. If you are looking for an all female environment for all shapes, sizes and abilities then I’d highly recommend CATH.

Fantastic experience: Amazing place and amazing team. I have finished my 6 weeks program and I am really happy with my results. I have lost kg and cm as well. Team is really supportive and very helpful. I am not a fit freak or body builder I just wanted to get fitter and lose weight. However I am gaining more then that . I am eating healthy and I feel much better. Small session are great as you are working in small group and coach has time to keep and eye on you and help with workouts. Thanks to this I am learning how to use weights and how to do workouts properly . I didn't had a clue how to exercise properly and in the past I had many injuries caused by wrong techniques. I will stay longer and continue my membership with Claire Adams Total Health. I definitely recommend it :)

Fantastic experience: Joining Claire’s gym was probably the best thing I did for myself last year. It’s a brilliant, warm and supportive environment, Claire and Struan are excellent, patient and very skilled at persuading you to push yourself further than you thought you could go. They’re gentle when you need that and ferocious about helping you get fitter and feel better. I often drag myself in reluctantly and stagger out feeling brilliant and very pleased with myself. Lots of great women there and fun chat but the best thing is how committed they all are to helping. Can’t recommend them enough, honestly.

The instructors are professional and deliver quality programmes that are different each session. The team is dedicated in promoting health and nutrition and encouraging their clients to reach their goals. Fantastic experience: Classes for all abilities of women young and old. I attend with my daughter and we both leave exhausted and feeling positive. They push you but not ever in a discouraging way and the atmosphere is always friendly. Fantastic experience: I joined the gym almost a year ago in preparation for my retirement from work. I've always been overweight and have been to every Slimming club with varying degrees of success but not sustained. Because of my weight problems I've also been easily intimidated by gyms and felt very self conscious. Claire and Rytis are amazing coaches who support you every step of the way. The gym is a safe, welcoming place where you immediate feel part of a 'community'. Exercise is tailored specifically for you if you have any issues and because they are a maximum of 5 participants per session, it's as good as having a personal trainer - actually it's better as you meet some amazing people and will make friends. You can also do online classes. I no longer feel self conscious, my self esteem has improved, I'm fitter, healthier and my mental health has also benefitted enormously. There is also access to a nutritionist, Jane, who is always there to give advice and information. I'm no longer on a diet, but have a healthy, balanced eating regime. I've not only sustained my weight loss but have continued to lose gradually. I can't recommend Claire Adams Total Health highly enough.
