Fantastic experience: I honestly can't recommend Joanna from Fitness Soul enough! I started my fitness journey with absolutely zero knowledge or experience in strength training, and after just six weeks, I feel incredibly confident and like I genuinely know what I'm doing. What truly set her apart was the expertise in adapting the training to accommodate my specific needs, ensuring every session was challenging yet safe. Joanna is a brilliant teacher, focusing heavily on technique and form, which has been essential for my progress. If you're looking for a personal trainer who is not only knowledgeable about building strength but also patient, adaptive, and dedicated to educating you on the "how and why," look no further.
Fantastic experience: Tucked away in Tennant Street this club is the nirvana of exercise addicts. I'm one of them. I made that post about 10 years ago and have revisited it today (8/7/2025). The comments are as relevant as ever. Fitness Soul has established its identity as "The gym for people who hate gyms". It's for people who understand the need to exercise but are not naturally athletic and are looking for an environment that caters for their mindset. Natural athletes welcome too! % genuine review.

Fantastic experience: Honestly, at the beginning I wasn’t sure this was for me. But once I started training, it completely changed my mind. Week by week you notice how much stronger, fitter, and more confident you become, it’s such a rewarding feeling. What surprised me most is how good it makes you feel, not just physically but mentally too. The energy, the motivation, even the rush of happiness you get after each session, it’s addictive in the best way. I’d recommend this to absolutely everyone. Once you give it a try, you realize how much you actually needed it.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Fitness Soul for over two months now, and it’s the first time I’ve ever felt comfortable in a gym environment. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported by Lez, Joanna and the rest of the team. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and genuinely encouraging. It doesn’t feel like a typical gym at all—it’s more like a small, active community where everyone is invited, no matter their level. I started without any experience lifting weights, and I’ve surprised myself by actually enjoying it. The classes are well-structured, and all the team really know how to guide you in a way that builds confidence. Zumba and kettlebells are my favourites, but I’ve also really enjoyed strong core and social strength. In just a couple of months, I’ve noticed that I feel stronger and more motivated. For the first time, working out doesn’t feel like a chore—it feels like something I want to keep doing. If you're looking for a place that’s beginner-friendly, supportive, and far from intimidating, I honestly couldn’t recommend Fitness Soul enough.
Fantastic experience: Zumba is my first love and after 15 years of dancing with Fitness Soul I can assure you that there is nothing like it to wash away the stresses of the day. A range of classes and special events will draw you in. My second love is walking the hills and this became badly affected by osteoarthritis - I knew that Fitness Soul could help. I have Personal Training that meets my needs and every session is different and fun - Joanna always thinks of something different to keep you involved and to help you reach your goals. Strength and core training can help manage symptoms of musculo skeletal conditions. its natural to be cautious but the years of expertise at Fitness Soul means they know how to support you. I no longer need pain killers and am walking further, faster and higher these days. With some hard work, commitment and the right support you soon start to see some benefits. Its scientific but just now for me its also magical!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant small family-feel gym with brilliant owners and coaches. Not only do you get supported and encouraged by the owners and coaches, but you’re also supported and encouraged by the other members. Absence is noticed - if you need help with accountability this is your place. Small group PT sessions are hard but progress comes. And we all know weight bearing is good for us as we get older! Not experienced anything like it.
Fantastic experience: Fitness Soul is the perfect place to get fit and strong in a warm and friendly environment. Everyone involved has so much energy and passion, you can't help but want to keep going back for more. I am so much fitter and stonger since joining, and truly enjoy (most) moments. I have never lasted long in other gyms, this one has me fully committed.

Fantastic experience: I met Joanna and Letzek through a friend in common, and I was instantly inspired by their dedication and passion, knowing they built Fitness Soul from the ground up all by themselves! It’s incredible to see their vision come to life in such a welcoming and vibrant community. Since then, Fitness Soul has always been there for me during some of my most difficult transitions since moving to Edinburgh. Whether it was healing after a breakup, dealing with burnout at work, or even navigating lockdown — we exercised online using apples and potatoes. Great memories! Fitness Soul is not just a place to work out; it's a community where everyone lifts each other up. The instructors are incredibly passionate and genuinely care, creating a supportive environment that inspires you to push your limits without feeling overwhelmed. My favorite classes are Zumba and Social Strength! Zumba is an absolute pure boost of energy after a long day at work. Social Strength feels like hanging out with friends while lifting weights – how awesome is that?I also love Konga with Roz, if you really want to sweat to awesome tunes. These classes make working out so much fun, and I’ve noticed remarkable changes in my strength and endurance because of them. I’ve been with Fitness Soul on and off for almost 10 years, and no matter where life has taken me, I always find my way back. I am now determined to stay! Fantastic experience: Never been a gym person, but last october a friend recommended me Fitness Soul and I decided to give it a go...it was the best decision! I started going to the Social Strenght classes and found exactly what I was looking for! Competent guidance and supervision, in a relaxed and fun environment where everyone is welcome! I never felt embarassed or pressured, and I think that's what put a lot of folk off commercial gyms, especially women. I feel at ease, motivated and supported by the trainers but also the other people in the group. There is a good number of classes, but the gym can also be booked and accessed when there is nothing scheduled if you want to squeeze in a training session on your own. It's my happy place :)
Fantastic experience: I'll have to thank Celia(my physio) first that recommended me to try Fitness Soul. I had constant pain in my back and neck, a tendinitis in my wrist and very sore knees. It was 3 years ago that I started doing Zumba classes and thought it was fun!! Joanna's energy and smile are always encouraging and contagious. Then I found myself lifting weights attending Lezcec's classes. I always thought this was not for me. Now I've realized it is for everyone, of any fitness shape or age and that we all really need that. And I even like it! I've never been a gym person, I found it boring and struggle to be constant. But I can say now that Fitness Soul has completely changed my perspective. It's a small and nice community here always willing to help. And that also matters. The rest of the team are also very kind and helpful. So many things learnt in this time. My pains are mainly gone and that is thanks to exercising and the strenght training. I've also used Joanna as PT in the Small Group and she's been great, always cheerful, resourceful and knowledgeable guiding us in different aspect of exercising, nutrition, injuries etc She knows to read the room and adapt to the group and to every individual helping us to progress to reach our own goals. We also share healthy receipts, ideas and some laughs! (Some will say turmeric shots after the sessions too :) ) These guys at Fitness Soul know very well what they do and they do it with a lot of passion for helping people of any kind and age in their own journeys. Whole team will make you feel welcomed. They share everything possible with clients and are always bringing new ideas to improve and keep people interested in doing more. They put their best on it and they care, you can sense that and it is very engaging. So it's just not about working out but also learning and sharing experiences with beautiful humans that want to give you a hand. And sometimes some cute doggies too! What a journey, one that I never thought I could accomplish! Now I feel I can't stop it and I hope to keep all the good habits for a lifetime and also continue improving. Thanks Fitness Soul. Fantastic experience: Could not love the fitmamas classes at Fitness Soul more! It's so good to be able to get a work out with the kids in such a friendly environment. They have been great extending classes to online and not just in person during covid helping keep us all motivated and sane. The coaches are all fabulous and great motivators no two classes are the same so there's always something to enjoy!

Fantastic experience: I have been having myofascial pain for many years and I started PT to recover and get stronger. It was scary at first, but Joanna was understanding about where I was coming from with having past injuries and with time, I started feeling confident to exercise again. I was amazed by how much I could accomplish in just 3 months after thinking that 'lifting is not for me'. After strength training, I am now stronger and more active in my life. The gym has a fantastic atmosphere with knowledgeable trainers who also love what they do

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to FS on/off since 2017. Started doing the first bootcamp that Richard did (killing but loads of fun!!), and continued for over a year doing classes with Joanna, Leszek, Roz & the rest of the gang. The thing about this gym is that isn't your normal type of gym where you go, exercise and go home having little to 0 interaction with the people in the class or the instructor. This gym is a place where you go and exercise having fun with a great bunch of people that are (and treat you) like a friend/family. If you're looking for a place to exercise where no-one cares or bothers you, don't come here, but if you're looking for a place where you can exercise, feel happy, feel like you're partying (Zumba & Konga) and....even cure your hungover, FS is your place!! For the past 12 weeks I've been doing a Small PT group class with Joanna and I have managed to not only achieve my goals (Loss fat/volume + gain muscle strength (my knees are happier now). Develop healthy habits: healthier meals and weekly exercising - gym, hillwalking, cycling, running,... anything that requires a bit of an effort- & Stick to all the above without losing motivation after the 12 weeks)!!! Joanna has managed not only to keep me motivated, but also made it so much fun that even on days that I felt like no motivation/energy or had to "take it easy", I went, exercised, gave it all (got told to remember to take it easy ...haha), had fun and left with a big smile in my face!! As well as PT, I started going back to Zumba (with Joanna), Social Strength (with Leszek) & Konga (with Roz) and can't recommend this guys enough!! They're the happiest, funniest, inspiring people you can find on your fitness journey!!! I can't recommend enough this bunch!! And the rest of the FS family are as GREAT as this 3!!! They'll inspire you to push your limits and you'll be surprised on how much more of what you think you can do you will do if you join them!!

Fantastic experience: I just completed my eighth training session with Joanna from FitnessSoul and the small PT group. These are female-only training sessions, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Joanna is an incredible fitness trainer. She is very supportive and always takes the time to answer any questions. There’s always a lot of fun, and everyone leaves the training with a smile, even if we are sweaty and have sore muscles The workouts are varied, including everything from warm-ups with muscle rolling to light and intensive cardio, weight exercises, and stretching. In addition to fitness, there are plenty of discussions about the menstrual cycle and how to eat and exercise to support our hormones. After just four weeks, I've lost 6 cm from my waist and 2 cm from my hips. Under my "couch potato" skin, I can finally feel my abdominal muscles and I love this! Additionally, I sleep like a log, and I've never been more motivated in my entire life to lose weight.

Fantastic experience: I've been doing bootcamp 3 times a week for over a year. It's not easy but it's great fun, we all see our progress over time and the bottom line is that unlike any other gym I attended in the past, I keep coming back, 3 times a week, every week. This means something.

Fantastic experience: I was part of the Bootcamp group for 6 months. I had a wonderful time under Richard and the amazing group of people that he leads, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday @ 6.30am. Always a cheerful bunch despite the early hours, the program consists in cardio work, HIIT, Strength Training. I was very lucky to find them back then, and I am very grateful that I met them. Fitness Soul, is not only bootcamp, as you might be well aware. Have a look at their social media because they have a lot to offer, from Zumba classes or Kettlebells, to Open Gym Sessions.

Fantastic experience: Been doing small group PT with Joanne and loved it. Not used to doing lots of exercise but Joanne is a great motivator and there's always a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Have improved strength ,fitness and confidence so I highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Joanna has helped me significantly with my weight loss and strength. I initially joined a small personal training group called Fitmamas and now attend classes with Fitness Soul. She has also assisted me with nutrition, providing the best advice throughout my journey and helping me reach my targets. She’s also super supportive and friendly Lez has also been absolutely brilliant; he has helped me build my confidence in lifting more than ever. Additionally, he provides the best advice and facts about training and lifestyle. Lez is attentive to helping you use the best technique in classes. I particularly enjoy his strength and hyrox classes—they are super fun. Fitness Soul itself is a great gym with an amazing group of people from different backgrounds. The supportive community fosters motivation among everyone.

Fantastic experience: Lean and Strong Challenge has been an excellent and cost effective way of getting to join in with fitness soul (one of the best fitness gyms ever!) whilst living too far away to be in person. It is a group put together with an app, WhatsApp and the care of Joanna and Leszek. There are habits to learn to follow and 3 workouts a week that you can do at home with no equipment or in a gym. It’s an encouraging group and has really helped so far! Love it Thanks for the opportunity to be part of the fitness soul family remotely xxx
Fantastic experience: Enjoying the "Lean +Strong Challenge" as it's giving me a real fitness focus, pushing me out of my comfort zone in the run up to Christmas. Changing habits for 4 weeks and some for longer. Great encouragement and support from Joannna, Leszek and the 'whatsapp' group. Signed up for Lean & Strong Challenge, workouts loaded on app, with no regrets, accessible to do at home whenever you can, and you can track your progressions , they also provide a support and motivation group! Fantastic experience: I signed up to the small group personal training with Leszek to try to build strength. The sessions were always fun and varied, and Leszek pushes you just enough to know you are developing without it being so hard that you dread coming! The atmosphere is super friendly and supportive. Although the cost seemed like an investment compared to just going along to gym classes, it was well worth it as the small group and personalised approach makes you feel accountable to stick with it and keep going to sessions. In short, if you are in any doubt, just go for it! You won't regret it.
Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Joanna highly enough! She is extremely passionate, professional and dedicated trainer. I have never been someone who did much exercise as an adult, going to the gym was so out of my comfort levels. But Joanna is just brilliant, she helped me set my goals and stay motivated from the first day. Started seeing progress in a few weeks already which was amazing considering my previous level of fitness! I really enjoy each session, she makes you push your limits, but also mixes things up and the sessions can be quite fun! Fantastic experience: I started PT classes with Joanna over a year ago. I wasn't in the best shape mentally and physically at the time and was looking to improve my body and feel better with myself. I quickly started to see the positive changes in my wellbeing and how i look. I realised its more than just that. I am so much stronger and more capable, my knee and back pain after a long hike is currently non existent. Fitness is now an important part of my new life and i am never going back to how it was before. I look better, i eat better, i enjoy exercise! Even after a long day at work and long commute back to Edinburgh i always look forward to it because of the positive energy and enthusiasm training with Joanna gives me! I continuously see improvements in me and i am currently training to compete in my second Hyrox fitness race in october and then climbing Kilimanjaro in february! ^_^

Fantastic experience: No hesitation in recommending Leszek & team. Personable, personalised positivity every session. He has oodles of experience in developing minds and bodies - including his own awesome endurance achievements - and is an ideally qualified guide to help you on the way to your destination. Easy/fun or hard/serious: he knows what's appropriate and when. In only 6 mths he's got me strong enough to feel super-relaxed just 2 days before my Celtman Solo! You won't regret it either. Just do not let Leyla in the gym - carnage!
Fantastic experience: As someone who skived off nearly every single PE lesson at school and who just thought strength training was "not for me", starting to attend PT sessions in a gym in my 40s was massively out of my comfort zone. I needn't have worried. Training sessions at Fitness Soul have been something I didn't expect- so much fun! Leszek is very knowledgeable and has pushed me to go beyond what I thought was possible. I have noticed great improvements in my strength, health and energy levels- honestly so delighted about this and so is my long suffering physio. Advice around nutrition, lifestyle and incorporating functional movement in to every day life has been really helpful too. Always some good banter and a nice supportive, community feel in the small group.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with Leszek for 8 months, and he’s made such a difference to my fitness. He’s pushed me to do things I would never have done, and I’ve loved it. Lost weight, sure, but more importantly I’ve got in to fitness. If you are thinking of getting a PT, it pays to invest in one who loves what they do, and knows how to get the best for you
Fantastic experience: This is the first gym that I’ve really clicked with. I’ve been dragging myself out of bed 3 times a week for the bootcamp at 6:00 am and I’ve been loving it. There is a really supportive atmosphere, the instructors are great and the structure of the classes makes sense. I feel that I have been pushed to achieve more than I expected but it’s been a very positive experience. After 4 months I feel much stronger and generally better. Highly recommended.

My training sessions have helped me immensely with improving my flexibility and regaining some strength. Fantastic experience: At the end of June I (unexpectedly) qualified for the UCI Pump Track World Champs in Chile and to prepare myself for the race I knew I had to work on my strength but didn't know where to start, as I've never trained in a gym or had a PT. A friend of mine recommended that I get in touch with Leszek and after our first meeting I knew that was a good choice. Leszek's energy and enthusiasm is electrifying. Having someone teach me how to lift weights and look after me during sessions was so important, it took away the worry that I could do something wrong and hurt myself. It was hard work but fun and always rewarding. Leszek will push your limits but that's the point, that's how I progressed and got stronger and I definitely don't want to stop. I only wish I had started strength training much earlier in my life. I must add that training with Leszek went beyond him just telling me what to do in the gym, he helped me with my worries and doubts when it comes to racing, and showed me strategies for how to deal with high stress situations. He's an accomplished athlete himself with huge knowledge, a passion for coaching and getting the best out of people.

Fantastic experience: A brilliant gym with support and encouragement to match. I went along to Fit Mammas for 6 weeks and loved every session. I lifted weights I never thought and I would and Joanna was there every step of the way, pushing me harder and holding the baby. Thanks guys!
Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Fitmamas or Joanna as a PT enough. It's amazing to be able to have a challenging, personalised workout that I can bring my children along to. I've never felt so strong, and even after a night of broken sleep I leave each class with loads of energy. Joanna's style of coaching really adds to this as she has such an infectious enthusiasm for making people feel better in themselves. One of the benefits I've found from working out with other mums and their children is not only having a wee cheer squad, but there's always someone to soothe a crying baby/ensure mobile children are safely out of the way! And it's great to be able to connect to other parents and be a sounding board for each other. It's also an incredibly welcoming gym, I'm usually quite anxious about joining classes expecting them to be intimidating. It's definitely not the case at Fitness Soul, it's a unique place! :)
Fantastic experience: I have been training with Leszek for several months and can highly recommend Fitness Soul, all the staff are friendly, you get a lot of good advice and fitness tips which you can apply outside of the training sessions as well, and Leszek keeps you really motivated
Fantastic experience: Starting PT with Leszek was the best decision I've ever made for my health and wellbeing. I find it impossible to motivate myself to get up and do any sort of fitness on my own. Having an appointment with a PT who is always smiling and making fitness fun and never a chore has been literally life-changing. It was really hard work to begin with (and still is - if it's not, you're doing it wrong!), but the progress I've made has been unbelievable.
Fantastic experience: I couldn't recommend enough Joanna&Leszek's classes (and the rest of wonderful FS instructors!). They are fun, challenging and the hard work is very rewarding, learning a lot of stuff about my body every day and the best way of pushing it further. There is something for everyone, regardless of level of fitness. A great way of unwinding after a full time day of work.

Fantastic experience: This 6 week exercise class has been exactly what I've been looking for. It has helped me to increase my exercise, eat better, feel fitter, feel better and improve my overall tone. Amazing in 6 weeks I've gained muscle and lost body fat. Joanne is a great instructor and will work you to your own limits being mindful of any injuries or specific requirements. She will even help with the babies so you can focus on the exercises. This class will really make you feel like you've worked hard and you'll then want to do more in your own time. Joanne will support you with ideas, programmes and help with nutrition. Great for any mum looking to improve their fitness and overall health.
Fantastic experience: I have gone to Fitness Soul for many years so knew that Joanna knew her stuff. I decided to try personal training instead of classes primarily because I had been struggling to lose my lockdown belly and felt that I would benefit from a 1:1 approach. In a surprisingly short time (just a few months), Joanna helped me lose my lockdown belly and I also learnt alot from our sessions regarding exercise, diet, and my body in general. Joanna is very open with her knowledge and I would highly recommend her for personal training as I am sure she will help you achieve your fitness goals.
Negative experience: There are not enough classes (quantity and variety) so I didn't really used it as much as I would have wanted and it's not cheap. I actually got charged an extra month that I didn't even plan to use and couldn't get rid because it was autorenewed. Zumba classes were great though.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my time training with Leszek. My strength and fitness improved and he provided good insight into which areas I really needed to work on to improve my overall fitness and resilience. He also provided me with some running coaching that was very useful and has improved my pace. Leszek is very knowledgeable and his training sessions are fun and effective.

Fantastic experience: I can’t rate Fitmamas highly enough. The instructors are great. They push everyone to achieve their best but at the same time offer lots of different options to suit everyone. It’s a great set up where I can bring my baby daughter with me and she is safe and happy with me while I exercise!

Fantastic experience: Fit Mamas was recommended to me as a safe way of getting back in to exercise by a physio after I went for a 'Mummy MOT'. I started a few months after having my baby. With lockdown and pregnancy I hadn't really exercised properly for a year, so I was pretty nervous. Especially with a grumbly baby in tow! I met Joanna for a chat before my first class- we discussed my goals and she really put me at ease. The classes have been fab, each instructor has their own style and brings their own little something to their classes. I've found the support from them and the other mums has really spurred me on and I'm feeling much better within myself. We exercise, share mum related struggles and the babies love it too as they get to watch and play. Fitness Soul has a really personal, friendly vibe and has made a big difference to me physically and mentally. I'd definitely recommend their classes.

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a baby friendly (yes, you can bring your baby or toddler!) yet rigorous workout in Edinburgh, the Fitmamas class is for you! It’s a great way to get in shape (body and mind!) after the 4th trimester. If you are looking for one on one time to work on some personal fitness goals, Joanna as well as her partner also offer great PT. The team at Fitness Soul offer a variety of classes — and if you can’t make it down to Leith, you can still get a sweaty workout by joining live online. Positive experience: Was attending for Zumba B1 and instuctor and course information was fab. Venue was let down by being absolutely freezing cold and had nowhere to make a hot drink. Not been as cold as that for a long time.

Fantastic experience: I've been training with Leszek for past few months. In this short time I learned so many things about myself than in my entire life. He showed me there are no limits when it comes to our abilities and it's been a discovery path what I'm capable of. Sessions with Leszek are great fun, very educational and he pushes you beyond your limit. He's unconventional and shows you creative ways how to get fit. Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant service. Honestly, if anyone is looking to get fit and lose weight then this is the best place in Edinburgh, by far. Leszek was absolutely fantastic, as a person in giving me confidence and in personal training. He pushed me to my limits, slowly but surely, but it was a really enjoyable experience, not harsh or an boot-camp style harsh atmosphere. He also made it FUN, which is what a lot of other types of training people forget. I've lost weight, feel better physically and mentally and struck up a good friendship with Leszek too who is possibly one of the nicest guys around. What more could you want. You honestly won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: Leszek has been a breath of fresh air to work with - just what I needed to round off 2020. Myself and three friends have just completed 14 weeks of group PT (all of us starting with roughly the same fitness level). The sessions have been varied, well structured, and have pushed each of us to achieve our goals. He is clearly passionate about his work, and has a tremendous knowledge of all things fitness and nutrition. Bags of personality, professionalism, inspiration and knowledge in equal measure - highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: I did a programme of Personal Training at Fitness Soul to try and break the stubborn routine of inactivity and excuses. Leszek helped me go from a point of little to no regular activity, to looking forward to liftin weights each week! My goal was to reset my routine and mindset, and there's no doubt that without the discipline of weekly sessions that that would not have happened. Leszek made sure that sessions were fun, progressive and challenging, but always within my abilities - and helped me realise that I could in fact lift heavy things!
Fantastic experience: Joanna’s Trigger Point Pilates sessions I try very hard not to miss. I swim, I cycle, I run, I sit on a chair, all things which lead to niggles, soreness and tight spots. It is an active way to address all these things in a fun and ultimately relaxing way. For running for me, it prevents those pesky hamstrings or IT band issues becoming problematic. Basically, I don’t understand why anyone would not want to use this opportunity.
Fantastic experience: I’ve really been enjoying my sessions with Joanna. She’s positive, enthusiastic and knows how far to push you without going too far. As well as being very knowledgeable about health and fitness she’s created a great sense of community around the gym. Fantastic experience: Leszek is an inspirational trainer who has given me a whole new sense of what I am capable of in my running and strength building. Fantastic experience: Leszek was recommended to me by friends who were aware of a shoulder injury that I was recovering from. After some months of inactivity I had lost range of movement and strength and as a keen padel player this meant I was missing out on my favourite sport. What I particularly liked about training with Leszek is that he took time to really understand my needs and goals and then tailored activity to focus on what I needed. He was able to push me to achieve these goals and make some other lifestyle changes that have improved my overall health and throughout he has made the sessions interesting and fun! I will happily recommend him to my friends and the racquet players in our clubs. Fantastic experience: Leszek has been helping me improve my fitness for the past 3 months. He identified some weaknesses and problems with my shoulders which we work to improve every session, as well as providing advice and guidance around what I can and should be doing to improve my overall health and fitness. Each session brings something new and Leszek makes sure that I push to the limit each time. Not only that but he does seem to try and make me laugh at the most inopportune moments, which just makes me look forward to the next session even more. I can’t recommend him enough, and looks forward to finding out what he has in store for me next!

Fantastic experience: This is not your typical gym, there is so much more that Leszek and Joanna have to offer. I took classes (mostly zumba and pound) and did personal training with Leszek. I cannot stress the great atmosphere they have created. All of the trainers/instructors are great and the other fitness soul members are lovely too! I instantly felt comfortable and apart of the family. So as I said before this is not your typical gym, it is an amazing facility with a community that is there to create an environment where you can have fun and be healthy and most likely very sweaty too!!!

Fantastic experience: I signed up to the City to Summit which is , in many ways, similar or equivalent to an Iron Man. I have always been quite fit and have pushed myself as far as I can in all sporting activities but this was a step into the unknown. My friend insisted that I meet with Leszek about this endurance event and I quickly realised there is a lot of science and theory to be considered when training and competing in an endurance event. Leszek's knowledge was incredibly impressive and he helped me to understand how the body works (e.g. aerobic versus anaerobic, heart rate zones), useful equipment, the importance of nutrition, how to put together a training programme, the psychological aspect of an endurance event... the list goes on. Above all else, Leszek genuinely believed I was capable of completing the event and was beyond supportive throughout my training programme. Leszek is second to none in my opinion and I can't recommend him enough. I know I wouldn't have been been able to cross the finish line after 19 hours of exertion without his help!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I are not super fit people in the slightest. We have been desperate to lose weight for a very long time and just needed the right class or instructor to show us the way. We cannot recommend Leszeks personal training highly enough. He knows so much and considering the amount of injuries my wife and I had prior to starting we were amazed he could formulate a regime around all of our pre-existing conditions so we could train together as a couple. He brought a tonne of experience and thoughtfulness to motivating us and keeping our progression steady but always surprising us by showing us that our limits were always on the far side of what we thought they were. We are no doubt going to be back to training with Fitness Soul in the near future as this initial burst of PT has given us a huge confidence boost that we can make exercise a constant part of our new healthy lifestyle. Leszek is a wonderful trainer and a wonderful person to boot so if you're looking to book a PT with lots of experience and creativity then book this man the now!

He will make sure that he encourages you but takes into consideration anything that might be a problem i.e. I suffer from Arthritis and Leszek makes sure that the exercises suit me. Fantastic experience: Leszek is a great coach. Each session is slightly different (so I don’t get bored), whilst always focusing on flexibility, strength, and cardio. Leszek has taken the time to understand what exercises I don’t enjoy and enjoy, so that he focus on tailoring the training sessions to ensure I start to enjoy exercise more than I have in the past! Having never exercised routinely in the past I’ve really appreciated the one on one sessions as I can go at my own pace whilst Leszek encourages and supports me to push my own boundaries. I now feel confident to go to some group exercise classes. Leszek has also taken into account a long standing health problem and ensures that I work to strengthen the muscles around the affected area that will help me in the long run. He has also given me advise on how to mitigate the risks of having a desk job and enjoying visits to the pub too often. If you are looking for a personal trainer Leszek is the one!

Fantastic experience: For many years, I've considered myself to be fit, strong and healthy and I've worked with a number of personal trainers during this time - some good and some not so good. Working with Leszek is different. Firstly, he's a kind, considerate and friendly soul who is evidently committed to what he does. What I particularly enjoy about working with him is that he listens to what it is you want to achieve and he then helps you to achieve this in tandem with training you for longevity (and not just for looking good). Looking and feeling better are of course the outcomes of working with him but Leszek trains at 'source' by focusing on a combination of strength, flexibility and endurance to produce the desired outcomes and to therefore help equip his clients for leading longer, healthier, more active lives. After all, what good is strength and muscle mass if you're going to lose flexibility and be unable to move your body in later years? In working with Leszek, you can fully expect to be pushed to your limits - and sometimes a little beyond them - but Leszek is always aware of where those limits are, is supportive in helping you achieve them and is eager to monitor and measure progress. If you're looking for a trainer who is as effective as he is unconventional and understanding, go and see Leszek, do what he says and pay what he asks! If your experience is anything like mine, you'll be glad you did!

Fantastic experience: After taking classes in different gyms and studios (Portobello Swim Centre, PureGym, etc), I have finally found the perfect one! Fitness Soul is by far the best studio I have visited in Edinburgh. Small classes, the instructors actually paying attention to you and how you're doing, everyone is really friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions and give advice. I definitely recommend it!
Fantastic experience: I have really enjoyed training with Leszek. I particularly like the functional approach to strength and fitness. Leszek ensures that one works at his/her own pace while at the same time encouraging them to push the boundaries of their comfort zone.
