Fantastic experience: I love my Sunday mornings here! I started a few months back and the group is so encouraging. Everyone is always really positive and I actually love the exercise! Does my body ache afterwards? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes! I find it more fun than staring at a gym wall on a treadmill!

In all seriousness, were made up that you've found people to be positive and encouraging. Its one of the foundation stones of our club and certainly sets us apart from the herd.
Fantastic experience: Joined UJA about 18 months ago. An amazing place to train. Friendly and inclusive whilst at the same time pushing everyone to improve. I can honestly say I have enjoyed every single session since I joined. There is a great mix throughout the year with charity events, local competitions and working through syllabus for gradings. I couldn’t be happier.

Fantastic experience: My son has been attending for over 1 Month now and although he is generally a shy kid. Robin, Jay, Dan and the other Junior students have made him feel so welcome. He comes home excited for the next Week. Its well organised and friendly. Thanks guys.

Fantastic experience: An excellent club and perfect place to learn judo. Jay and the team give first class tuition for all ages and abilities. Events are posted throughout the year, including charity events which are always great fun to get involved in. The group itself are a great bunch. Always supporting eachother in our progression and having a few laughs along the way

Fantastic experience: Very Welcoming and friendly club! The instructors are all very knowledgeable and always wanting to help you improve in the sport. I was very nervous about joining a new club but was quickly put at ease by everyone there. My son always attends the children's class and loves it! Again the instructor is welcoming and friendly and very very patient! I'd recommend universal judo academies to anyone wanting to give judo a try x

Fantastic experience: Amazing Judo club. I had been looking to get back into judo and come across this place when searching online. The classes are very welcoming and the coaches are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Best thing I've done getting back into the sport and becoming part of a great club

Fantastic experience: I know nothing about martial arts and so when my 8 year old daughter wanted to give judo a try, I was a bit nervous. I needn’t have been because Robin, Jay, Dan and the team at Universal Judo Academies have been fantastic with her. She loves the sessions, which are fun and help all the kids develop at their own pace. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: They practice Traditional and Modern sports Judo and some old school jujitsu self defence stuff too. The Instructors were really good at technical breakdowns and explanations. Class was only an hour but I worked up a good sweat. Great for fitness. I'm quite a nervous person but the other students were really chilled out and helpful, so it was a really good session for me. Thanks guys. I'd definetly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: My daughters trained with Jay and Dan for years at Merseyside Judo Academy. They are very knowledgeable in Judo, Submission Wrestling / Grappling and Self Defence whilst keeping it Safe, fun and interesting. I would highly recommend to others. =)

Fantastic experience: A brilliant club. Very welcoming. The instructors jay and Dan are superb. So knowledgable, supportive and care so much about their students. Perfect for all ages and abilities. I started in early thirties looking for a new sport to get in to. I was completely new to judo and now im hooked. The camaraderie of the group is brilliant with everyone wanting to help and support each other regardless of age or ability. If you want to get fit, gain confidence, have fun, be part of a community, train to compete and for self defence this club offers all of it and more

Fantastic experience: My 14 year old son joined UJA nearly a year ago and absolutely loves it. He now trains every Sunday & Monday, with anyone & everyone... men, women, boys, girls, young, old, experienced, beginners... Everyone treats each other as equal and a member of a growing team. The instructors are attentive, have extensive knowledge, and they are keen to pass on their skills to their students. Five stars isn't enough!

Fantastic experience: The lead instructor has an impressive knowledge, and tremendous skill in teaching. Absolute beginners are welcomed, and those who are more experienced can gain a lot here. The facilities are great too. The dojo itself is bright and open which is a nice change from the other dojo's I've attended, with a large matted area.

Fantastic experience: A perfect place for learning and discipline at any age. I see young kids 8 and up learning the basics and having a lot of fun and then there are the older people exercising and taking in the complete art. The head Sensei (Jay) there is passionate and highly skilled and no doubt on of the best Judoka in the country hands down!

Fantastic experience: Really recommend this place, instructors are great and really helpful! Everyone is so supportive of eachother and ever since I started, I've grown more confident in myself. This place is real good for learning self defence and everyone works together and helps eachother out during the training sessions!

Fantastic experience: Universal Judo Academies in Wallasey is an excellent place to practice Judo! After taking a long break from the sport, I decided to pick it up again, and I'm so glad I chose this academy. The teacher here is absolutely fantastic. Not only does he have an impressive knowledge of Judo, but he's also friendly and incredibly motivating. He creates a positive and encouraging atmosphere that's perfect for all students, whether you're a beginner or an experienced Judoka. The facilities at Universal Judo Academies are top-notch, even though it's a small dojo. Everything is well-maintained, clean, and organized. It's clear that they take great pride in their space, and it provides an ideal environment for training and learning. One additional advantage is the ample parking space available. You won't have to worry about finding a spot nearby, which is such a convenience. Fantastic experience: Great gym with really good facilities, if there is something that interests you then Jay will do his best to either arrange a seminar or find one in the area for you to attend. If you want competition they will find it for you, if you just want to train for fitness, then they can cater for that as well.
