Fantastic experience: What a great place to be. Excellent to walk along. Great views of Liverpool from there and Evertons' new stadium . Great to do a bit of seafishing from . Parking isn't really a problem. Well worth a look.

Negative experience: What disgusting attitudes of the reception staff told that there was only 20 minutes left on the swim website stated it was open for another 90 min. Told to come back at 4.45pm arrived at 4.50pm to be told 20 minutes wait.others went in at 5.15 pm just after another person had paid for the pool that we would have to wait another 20 minutes sat with a 3 and 4 year old excited to go swimming staff sniggering at us almost like it was a sick game one of our grandchildren is autistic does not understand having to wait and why absolutely appalling behaviour from staff members

Positive experience: Really like this centre as there are two separate pools. One for swimmers and one for the family. The family pool is warmer that the other pool. Feel safe letting 3 children swim in the family pool as all children are at different stages of swimming. Also like the way swimmers go in every hour through the holidays and so pool never gets overcrowded. Bit tight on parking spaces and not loads of changing rooms or showers and mirrors could do with replacing but overall a great pool for young families.

Negative experience: I have spent my whole life going to guinea gap baths. My children grandchildren always had a great experience At times some issues with classes / lesson being cancelled However I am beyond upset and angry with how my neuro diverse grandson was humiliated for not having a pass which he has just on his uncles family pass He was so upset. Had a major melt down and now fearful of going swimming

Fantastic experience: Excellent Customer Service and available for a wonderful refreshing swim with two pools. A Large training pool and a slightly smaller warmer Leisure pool. Used extensively by schools and local people as the only other pool is in West Kirby . Victorian in origin it has stood the test of time and is loved by all. We live on a coastal peninsular and it is vital to teach our children to swim, Lets protect it.

Positive experience: I had a pleasant experience swimming at the Guinea Gap. The baths are a relic from the previous years as a seaside resort. The changing rooms are very old but I enjoyed being able to shower and change in the same cubicle! The layout is confusing for people who have not visited before. I didn’t realise that there were two changing rooms. I had to re-dress and go to a different part of the leisure centre to get to the place that I needed to be to access the training pool. The pool itself was good, there was one lane set aside for lane swimmers during the public session that I visited. The pool was quiet enough that I could swim for about 20-30 minutes uninterrupted. I didn’t see much of the rest of the facilities but I had a nice swim. The staff were friendly and helpful and the other customers seemed nice, too.

Positive experience: It's been a while..... have they spruced the place up? fixed the showers and lockers, cleaned the windows, opened the cafe? I'd like to go back. Too many municipal pools have declined thanks to the Tories. I see from previous reviews that the management do not respond, do not explain or apologise. Can anybody name the Manager? Its like they want fewer customers for an easy life. So what is the point of this website?

Supposed to be a training pool , however, Unfortunatly too many in pool some people just walking from one end to the other and have to swim around or stop and start becoming un enjoyable experience and cannot have a relaxing swim

Negative experience: Took my two boys 5 and 2 for a swim. Only to be told we can’t go in because it’s a one to one ratio. I understand it’s for safety but they both have arm bands wouldnt leave my side and wouldnt leave the shallow end. We have been swimming multiple times before and never experienced anything like this. We was all ready in are swim stuff an drove a fair bit to get there an both boys was upset to be turned away. Isn’t that what lifeguards are for? Also make it more clear on the website so people don’t waste there day time and money getting there. So silly that a mother can’t take her two children swimming on her own in the summer holidays.

Negative experience: Arrived at 1.30pm for the parents and tots swim after calling in advance to ask whether it was on, was told yes and to turn up with out booking, to be told on arrival it doesn't run during the holidays. After waiting half an hour, we entered the swimming baths with two bored children to find it was extremely unhygienic, smelt of urine, rubbish on the floor goodness knows when the floor was last cleaned, pool was okay but as you walk into the pool area there is a soaking wet rug that is unavoidable to stand on and is probably crawling with bacteria, will not be going back.

Fantastic experience: The Royal Navy club is opposite the Guinea Gap Baths being ex Navy the club has a welcoming atmosphere everyone is welcome at the club you dont have to be ex forces or still serving give it a try.

Negative experience: Went for 'family' swim, no different fromany swim. Went with young child and when asked had any toys/inflatables told the swimming instructors don't want them putting out- we didn't stay long. Could be cleaner

Fantastic experience: Signed up myself, two sons and nephews so we could use the gym and other facilities. The staff are excellent, knowledgeable and always happy to help. The facilities are clean and there is a great atmosphere. I highly recommend signing up and using these great services. I just hope that with pending cuts, we do not loose access to these services and team. Great work, and thanks for your support GG Team.

Positive experience: Love going here swimming 2/3 times a week, gym is good too. Can get very busy in training pool but not a problem. The lockers unfortunately always seem to be broken as they're jammed with change, some of the changing cubicles need a completely massive deep clean and would be good if there was an extra drin in the family change area as its sometime like another pool in there. Still gonna go every week tho

Fantastic experience: Hi I came here to swim in my school the staff might know me it’s Izzy from hillside primary school and I loved comming here! I loved it so much here that my mum is trying to sign me up for more lessons here! Haha xx The staff are very friendly and my parents sometimes visit the gym many of times! They tell me that the place is good!

Fantastic experience: Gym is booked in advance to limit numbers and cleaning stations and bins next to all equipment. Changing rooms still closed as is drinking fountain but toilets still available. All in all top marks for keeping centre open and putting in safety protocol to hopefully remain so

Positive experience: Nicely set up very clean Staff very friendly and took time to see I was OK as it was my first visit to their gym. I will definitely use Guinea Gap again.

Negative experience: I seen a cat vaping in the changing rooms in the baths i was very appauled but he was quite a cool cat to be fair
