Negative experience: Energie Fitness Eltham - An Appalling Experience from Start to Finish I deeply regret ever signing up for a membership with Energie Fitness Eltham. Since joining, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, culminating in an unethical demand for £22.99 today to cancel my membership after my request to freeze it due to an ongoing back injury. I’ve only visited the gym few times since joining over a year ago, as my back condition has worsened significantly. Despite this, I’ve diligently paid my membership fees every month. Yet, instead of compassion, this gym’s response has been to hound me with relentless emails and demand further payments. The handling of my membership freeze request has been nothing short of abysmal. Despite notifying the gym multiple times about my health struggles, they’ve refused to cancel my membership without extracting an additional fee even when I requested to freeze it. It’s disgraceful how Energie Fitness prioritises squeezing money out of struggling members over demonstrating even an ounce of understanding or humanity. The condition of the men’s toilets is absolutely revolting and reflects the gym’s complete lack of care or respect for its members. The bathrooms are often covered in urine on the floors, with faeces smeared on toilet seats and pubic hair left scattered everywhere. There is frequently no toilet paper available, leaving members in truly uncomfortable and embarrassing situations. The stench is unbearable, and it’s obvious these facilities are not cleaned regularly or properly. This is not just unprofessional—it’s downright disgusting and a serious health hazard. The gym equipment isn’t much better. Dust visibly accumulates on the machines, and some are coated with a greasy film that makes them feel unhygienic to touch. It’s clear that cleanliness is not a priority for this gym, and the environment feels more like a breeding ground for bacteria than a place for health and fitness. To make matters worse, it’s worth mentioning that the majority of the positive reviews for this gym appear to be fake or written by members of staff themselves. It’s blatantly obvious when you look at the overly generic and glowing comments that fail to reflect the gym’s actual conditions or service standards. This kind of deceit is just another reason to avoid this place at all costs. I urge anyone considering joining Energie Fitness Eltham to think twice before wasting their hard-earned money. This gym prioritises profits over people, lacks basic customer service, and fails to deliver on even the most fundamental aspects of a clean and safe environment. Save yourself the disappointment, frustration, and financial exploitation—there are far better options elsewhere. Energie Fitness Eltham is not just a gym; it’s a disgrace to the local community.

Negative experience: Energie Fitness Chelmsford - SHOWERS / DRAINS the water is not going down the drains - in particular the disabled wet room @ ENERGIE FITNESS CHELMSFORD, ESSEX where huge chunks of long hair and dirt are coming back up through the drains. In response Jodie - Christian, Elliot - Josh give you a mop and bucket to clean the wet room which overflows on a daily basis. Under the Equality Act I am disabled person and joined the gym to use the wet room but at no point was I advised that it was my job to clean the wet room during and after I had a shower each day which meant it took me forever to have a shower as I had to turn the water on - mop the floor throughout so that the water did not overflow into the changing rooms an issue I raised with JODIE, Christain, Elliot, Josh, Mel and various trainers at this gym that was ignored including the cleaner Past reviews indicate that Head Office @ Aurora House is just a pre recorded android voicemail and you never get a response to your complaint and you certainly never receive any refunds or a detailed breakdown to confirm how much money you have paid each month. HMRC should carry out a detailed investigation into what monies Energie Fitness Chelmsford are declaring on their annual tax return as Energie Fitness Chelmsford should be investigated for tax fraud and money laundering.

Negative experience: This is an open letter to anyone who is thinking about going into business with Energie fitness/UBX, In a word… DON’T These companies are run by some of the most crooked and dishonest people I have ever came across. They have ruined peoples lives with there lies and business tactics and have sent many people into avoidable bankruptcy. Their greed is only topped by their borderline illegal behavior's. As a franchisee you are promised the world but once the gym is open the only support you will receive is a biweekly webinar, where you are preached to about all the practices that you should be doing as if the whole industry is one size fits all, there is never information specific to you. And you might get a physical visit to the gym once a year if you are lucky, depending on location. They force you to use their suppliers for everything from gym equipment to consumables and then add on a 30 to 40% premium for the pleasure. They then also get a back-end finder’s fee from that same supplier who in turn increases your price to cover it, they take their fees from your turnover so if the gym is not making a profit, they will still take money from you even if it means the staff wages, business loans, vat or rent go unpaid. most of the network have never made a penny from their gyms and half of them from before the pandemic have either left the network or gone out of business. there use to be about 130 gyms in the network. But now there are about 70, there are several current and past franchisees that are taking legal action against energie fitness HQ currently. even their “Flagship” gym in Milton Keynes that used to be part of the head office have recently left the network. they were released easily from their franchise agreement, and it was all kept quite hush hush because they were able to leverage the amount of dirt that they had on energie fitness about shady dealings going on at the HQ as they were directly next door. They have had 5 CEO’s in 3 years, and the last one was fired for having a affair with the in house legal counsel, there is a document being sent around in recent days from a ex-franchisee showing that they have opened and closed 20+ limited companies to do with energie fitness, that I am told is to avoid outstanding debt and is borderline illegal conduct especially from an in-house solicitor. (Feel free to search her yourself on companies’ house). Only a very limited amount of gym’s have actually reached profitability, and if you do fall behind financially due to rent or VAT and ask for help from them they will refuse, and instead suggest you sell your gym to them for pennies, they will then resell it to a new franchisee (for a couple hundred thousand pounds) that has the capital to run it until it either reaches profitability or they run out of funds. and then it will be recycled again, to someone else… For energie fitness it’s never the priority to get you into profit, they get most of their income from the opening of new gyms, and then take money monthly from the turnover regardless of profit. They are not to be trusted, even the founder was basically called a liar by a judge in a case where EF attempted to take a franchisee to court as he wanted to leave the network. I have personally heard about a franchisee who has tried to take their own life due to the way that energie fitness HQ handled their business STAY AWAY PLEASE

Negative experience: I'm disgusted by the behaviour of energie fitness head office in regards to the closure of energie fitness Ipswich, I've been a member there for a good while and recently it was closed down without warning I've been made aware by some of the staff who I have become friends with that they knew that this was happening for several months yet they continued to sign up new members and take direct debits from existing members without notifying us of what is happening. In my case my direct debit was taken a couple of days before the gym was closed down and is no longer available to me. something which head office encourages the gym staff to do to squeeze every single penny they can out of unsuspecting members, and now they have stated that they want us to continue to pay our memberships fee and use their “App”? Why would I when I can get the same pre-recorded workouts for free on youtube from thousands of Trainers or even live classes?. I've been led to believe that this is common practise amongst the Brand encouraged by the head office. They have even sold a year long upfront memberships the day before the gym is closed down. the staff have made me aware that due to mismanagement on behalf of the head office who franchised these gyms to local people that nearly 40% of the gym’s in this brand no longer exist. Something that they have explained was totally avoidable if it wasn't for the greed and bureaucracy of the higher ups who sit in an office and never step foot in the gyms good hard working people are losing everything so that the corporates can prosper. shame on you energie fitness shame on you.

Negative experience: Worst service, refuse to cancel membership. They avoid emails, phone calls. If I could them a zero I would.

Negative experience: Sent an email, no reply. Don't bother calling the listed number on the website, it's a pre-recored message by an Android that repeats the same line over and over. Had a terrible experience at branch of this fitness chain but you'd think there was a human in the office to reply to my email. Very poor.
