Positive experience: Curtains hanging down, had to prop a chair in front of them to block out the day light. Housekeepers hardly checked room, we had to go to reception to ask for basics like toilet roll, bins were only emptied once and none of the tea cups were washed.
Fantastic experience: Afternoon tea was lovely. Friendly server and bar man with a great sense of humour.
Negative experience: 2nd time we stayed here rooms r basic although first time i wasnt bothered 2nd time i had a good look rnd the room ,,mirrors filthy chair in the room green stain on cobwebs hanging an black damp up the wall behind the chair there was water in the kettle gog knows how long its been in there .We paid on arrival for breakfast so wish we hadnt seriously bacon egg sausages mushrooms an tomatoes were colddd my daughter got black pudding it was like a brick foods thats been cooked to the right temperature should have a holding temp if its still there after 2 hours it should be reheated properly or thrown away i dint think il do a 3rd stay here it looks lovely from outside but rooms are not good they tooked up the walls with paint not even same colour grey they really need to sort there cleaner out buy her a feather duster an tell her to do the lamps an tv with it
Negative experience: Drive past everyday but never really gone in . Looks really good from outside and through the windows. Does look like a great place to stay but only given 1 start as I've never stayed in the place. No idea what staff are like either. Sorry can't give much more information
Negative experience: Where do I start. Had my mother's 70th there on 17th Dec. Booked it 2 months in advance, paid a large amount in advance and it was by far the worst meal and service my family and myself have experienced. Half the food was missing off the plates as they had ran out of potatoes, lettuce, tomatoes, bacon... thats just to name a few. So Christmas dinners were minus potatoes and the "heritage" burger that's supposed to come with all the trimmings was a burger and a bun. All food was cold and staff were not helpful as you could see they'd had enough. Management was apologetic and offered full refund on deposit I paid. Still awaiting refund, Management has gone AWOL apparently. Please if you are thinking if going here I would tell anyone nit to waste your time and money.

Negative experience: Poor hotel rooms 112 & 102 - December 2024 On the 3rd of December I stayed in Room 112 (a Classic King Room) and on the following night I stayed in Room 102 (a Single Room). The hotel’s website describes their accommodation as follows, “Our rooms and suites are finished to impeccable standards, offering the perfect space for you to enjoy time away from home.” Both of the rooms I stayed in were far from this. The carpets, walls and bed bases were stained in parts. The paintwork and finish were poor throughout the rooms. The furniture was also basic and dated. The bathrooms were particularly dated and in extremely poor condition. The bath panels were damaged and the sealants around the bath, sink and toilets had to be seen to be believed. The heated towel rails in both rooms were rusty in parts. The shower head in Room 102 was in an extremely poor state and was clearly unhygienic. On my return home I contacted the hotel on three separate occasions to raise a complaint about the accommodation I stayed in but got no response. Make of this what you will. I shall be returning to the Rhondda valley next year in relation to work but I shan’t be staying at this hotel due to what I have outlined above. Nor would I recommend it to anyone visiting the area. One final note. All the staff I interacted with whilst I was at the hotel were lovely and the reception area was decorated nicely for the festive period. However, this does not make up for the poor state of the rooms and how they are glowingly described on the hotel’s website.
Negative experience: Christmas Dinner at Heritage What an absolute shambles placed at the very end table 19 and served last for every course… we had no Yorkshire pudding as the chef had burned them (we were told) we had 1slice of meat each (not adequate) roast potatoes sent back as they were stone cold the gravy was like coloured water.. the Christmas pudding was an experience of its own and was tasteless it certainly did not warrant the price tag This will never be repeated a disappointment for all 7 of my family if I’m honest I would rate it minus 1star
Negative experience: Had a Christmas meal booked. Not impressed. Staff seemed very confused with our order even though we had to email our orders twice. When the meals did eventually arrive half of the items which were listed in the festive menu were missing off our plates. Some of our party also didn't have accompaniments to their meal eg onion rings and gravy until we had actually finished our meal . Was never asked if everything thing was ok with our meal as I suspect they already knew that we were not satisfied. Would not recommend.
Negative experience: I stayed at this hotel at the end of August 2024. It was a last minute booking as my son and myself needed somewhere to stay for one night. I booked 2 rooms via a web booking service for 1 night. We arrived at the hotel quite late (around 21.45) and were asked for booking card details - even though we had already provided them, but I was told at the time it was a new payment system that they were having some teething issues with and they needed new card details. We left early the following morning. The review of the rooms themselves is 'Rooms were pretty uninspiring, pretty much end of the corridor, next to the road, although I get that it was a last minute booking. TV didn't work to start with but got it resolved with reception. Mattresses in both rooms weren't fabulously comfortable. Checked out early next morning so can't comment on gym or food... But overall feeling is that looking at the decor and feel of the place is really dated, in room WiFi isn't great quality, and fittings are pretty worn. To top it off, I've been charged twice.... But am waiting for the hotel to reply to a mail requesting a refund. Would only stay here again if there was no other option within a 20-30 min drive' I am now almost 4 months later and the hotel still have not refunded the money. I have emailed them on many occasions, and have phoned them in excess of 20 times. I have received a single email back from them, telling me to phone reception and leave my card details (This email arrived a few days after I raised a small claims court case against the hotel). I replied back to them saying that I was happy to hear from them but that the refund now needed to include the small claims fee and interest. I have heard nothing back from them after this despite emails on 9th Oct, 25 Nov, 4 Dec, and phone calls on 3 Dec, 4 Dec, 5 Dec, 9 Dec, 13 Dec, 16 Dec. The General Manager is apparently called Mr Evans. He appears to be a very, very busy man as he has been unable to return a single phone call, and does often appear to have 'just left' when I call which is most unfortunate, and all the messages I have left for him appear to have got lost between reception and his desk. Whilst I get that the service industry is often an unjustified target of criticism, I stand by my original review on the hotel. If you have any sort of issue and try to phone or email to resolve it, then the customer service is worse than appalling, there is apparently no-one else at the hotel who could deal with it, and they appear to be unable to deal with resolving an issue that they themselves caused. This establishment appears to be a complete catastrophe, and I would suggest you avoid it.
Negative experience: I was part of a group who attended one of the Xmas events on 14/12. Although the entertainment was good and the staff efficient and pleasant I have to comment on the shocking food on offer! Although we expected turkey/pork rolls with roast potatoes, what we received was not good at all!! Stale bread rolls, not enough provided so had to wait to replenish and a very small portion of meat!! Far below the expected standard!!
Negative experience: Starting off, stood at reception for 10 minutes waiting to know if I had to register my car for parking. Only if you're resident, notice would have helped? Meal was ok but obvious lack of staff training and supervision. We were left thirsty but thank goodness because could not believe I was charged £51 for two bottles of wine? Partly my fault because I wasn't shown a wine list. I will never go again. I live maybe 600 m away, my son had his wedding reception there, never again, be warned!! The negative reviews are true!
Positive experience: It was OK. Me and my wife had gone to stay at this hotel for her birthday It was rather expensive being classed as a high end hotel. The rooms were rather basic and we had some dirt on the carpet and stains on our curtains. We not overly fussy people however I have worked in five star hotels and know what is expected for the price and rating of a hotel and unfortunately this was not it. The location isn't very special no views and not much to do in the area. Too their credit the staff were lovely. My recommendation is to save your money on the rooms and spend it in their lovely bar and restaurant. You can also pay a visit too the mine experience and museum that is on the hotel grounds. This was a fun experience and you get an insight into the conditions into the old mines of Wales.
Positive experience: Attended a lovely wedding first weekend in Nov 24. Nice venue, well organised. Packaged rooms and breakfast £90 which we thought was quite reasonable. Reception, bar staff, general service and house keeping all friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit tired and in need of some TLC but had a great nights sleep. Food at wedding reception: cold soup, small meat portions (1 small, thin slice of beef) tasteless pudding. Expensive drinks but that’s hotel prices. Breakfast buffet style all hot food was lukewarm served on cold plates and chef was very slow at topping up. Good selection of cereals and continental cold varieties. All in all for the price a quite reasonable venue.
Negative experience: Told at reception desk the room had been cancelled, although I have an email confirmation on 19th September. They admitted there was no email from them to say it had been cancelled/that I had not been alerted to this. So now I’ve got no where to sleep after driving 3.5hrs. Crazy booking system!
Negative experience: AVIOD THIS HOTEL. We never stayed the night, we got there just 9pm Where do I start, getting out the car I could smell someone smoking weed, that was put off straight away Then walks into reception which was ok receptionist was polite and ok Then when we started going to our room the damp smell hits you in the corridor, gets to our room, the door was stuck hard and you had to give it a good push to open it, the window was open most probably to hide the damp and mouldy smell in the room, went to close it mould all over it, def people has smoked in this room can smell stale smoke, went into bathroom, if you needed shower you would be more dirty coming out than going in, plug hole mouldy and dirty. Towel radiator was rusty, aswell as the screws holding the mirror, bathroom door mouldy, cracked basin, shower curtain mouldy and shower head omg I nearly threw up, it had bits of dirt and hair in bath, extractor fan in bathroom coiling was dusty and disgusting hairs on bedding and and duvet cover dirty, no pillow protection or mattress proctors, I thrown better pillows away. But they expect you to sleep on them, very thin and had stains , stains on mattresses, room had bits of rubbish on floor, no hangers and room dusty not up to standard by any means, The hotel needs to retrain the housekeepers. The manager of this hotel either don't care and not bothered, or has no clue how to run hotel, they have not address theses issues which obviously has been going on for months, and still allowing guests go into these rooms and expect them to stay, the manager must be delusional if they think the hotel up to standard, best thing they can do is shut it down and revamp it. Maybe then they may keep the guest to stay the night To be fair the receptionist did write down the issues but I very much doubt that anything will be done about it I wish I read the trip advisor review before booking we actually drove over 2half hours back home as noway would stay there, it was getting late to find another hotel and more money to spend to find another hotel
Positive experience: This hotel is a great location but does require painting and a refreshing a bit. It has a bit of a Bed & breakfast feel about it.
Negative experience: About the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Dirty bedrooms and mouldy bathrooms. Had to eat out due to poor reviews for The Lost restaurant. Avoid unless the zombie apocalypse happens.
Negative experience: Arrived mid afternoon. Went to our room which absolutely stunk of stale smoke. After being told there was nothing else due to a wedding taking place, the manager then found us another one. Room was very dated, damp wall by the window and paint peeling off.The bed was awful, felt the springs all night. The hallway has a musty smell, the plug in air fresheners mask some of it. The desk in the room was sticky and coffee cups weren't clean. Breakfast was average, buffet style so the food has been sitting there a while. Overall it wasn't great for the price. Definitely needs a refurbishment and some tlc. I think it ll be the premier inn or a better hotel in Cardiff next time we re down this way
Fantastic experience: Loved my stay. I booked my self a 2 day mummy stay and loved every minute. The staff was helpful and the room was amazing for the peace and quiet I wanted.

Negative experience: Large room which was basically clean. Mattress needs replacing as springs can be felt. Main issue is the noisy road and awful single glazed windows. Constant traffic noise which kept me awake. Dinner was good and the staff are lovely. Im afraid due to the poor glazing and constant noise I wouldn't come back as a barely slept and have had to go to work exhausted.

Negative experience: Absolute dump. Do not stay here. I arrived late evening to an 'executive' room that stank of damp, had visible mould around the windows, stained carpets and furniture and pee around the toilet seat. No way was I staying here. Booked through Expedia and despite their best efforts to contact the hotel to request a refund, the hotel has ignored them. Disgusting hotel with management that clearly don't care a jot.
Negative experience: Went for works business, they requested my card in case of any damages to the room. I complied. They took 150 pounds out of my card for my stay without authorisation whilst also potentially taking the same amount out of my company for my stay. I have called 4 times and they promise the manager will be on this day to call me back. All 4 attempts they have not called back. Horrendous service, now we may have to take legal action because of their poor communication. shame.
Fantastic experience: Good food, wide variety at breakfast buffet, free car park, very clean in room, only one thing, lack of mattress protector, don't know it that is standard there or just one of shortage. Overall very good.
Negative experience: We booked our room at the hotel online - a "beautiful, modern venue" the internet said.... The corridor leading to our room stank of damp. While the room itself was passable, the bathroom was an absolute discgrace. The top of the toilet cistern was cracked; the side of the bath was hanging off and the mould around this and the bath itself was utterly disgusting and unacceptable. The trim on the wash handbasin was hanging off and the screws on the mirrow were rusty. We didn't use the bath/shower. The whole bathroom needs a deep clean/overhaul.
Negative experience: Hotel entry was nice and staff were pleasant. However rooms very poor. Beds didn't have mattresses that could be slept. Furnishings tired. Size of rooms ok. Place would be good if owners replaced mattresses. Not recommended in current state
Negative experience: We waited 15 minutes at check in before someone came to sort us out. Our room was not great, very old and not brilliantly clean, mould on the wall. The bed was awful, and I’m sure the sheet was not clean, one pillow case was covered in marks, so not used. There was a wedding on so we were kept awake by the loud music and later on people being very loud. Only plus was that the breakfast was nice . Would not stay here again. Having looked at the photographs of the rooms, not seen one that looked like ours.
Positive experience: The hotel appeared to be well kept, clean and tidy. However, the bed which appeared to be well made, but the quilt was turned back the bed appeared to have been left as last slept in with a crumpled sheet, the mattress was well past its use by date, completely unsprung in the middle, which meant I was either sleeping uphill or downhill. The self service breakfast was well cooked and well presented.

Positive experience: Check in was fine but the service could have been friendlier. Not really sure why breakfast is £2 cheaper at check in £10 at check in vs £12 the next day. Beyond the reception, corridors seemed quite dingy and needs a good hoover and spray of air freshener. The room was not great. The bathroom door and one wall had holes in them. The bath needed resealing, mould between tiles, the towel rail was rusty and hanging off the wall, and a few stray hairs on the floor. The bedroom was in a similar condition all of the furniture was damaged. We ate at the restaurant and actually had a really nice meal. It was very quiet with it being a Monday but the two staff serving were really nice. Food came very quickly and was hot and really good. Overall it wasn’t a terrible stay but the room did let it down somewhat.
Negative experience: Hotel is very old and worn and felt a bit dirty. There was a function on that they didn't tell us about which had really loud music playing until midnight which kept us awake. Then once the party had ended there were lots of drunk people shouting in the corridor. When we checked in we asked if we could have an extra 30 minutes on our checkout time but were told it would cost £10. Felt very unfair seeing as the room wasn't cheap anyway and we had lost a load of sleep due to the party. This hotel is overpriced for what it is, definitely not worth the money, and didn't seem to care about it's guests. I definitely would not stay here again.
Negative experience: DON’T DO IT Fire alarm goes off if anyone uses their shower and leaves the bathroom door open. On our first morning this woke us up at 6:50am, absolutely petrifying my 3yr old. Then it went off again at 7:30 while we were having breakfast. Later that day it went off at 18:50 while trying to get my son to sleep, scaring him so much he was shaking. I discussed this with reception who explained in a disinterested tone, it was because of the showers and they couldn’t stop it happening. The receptionist said “we reset the alarm as quick as possible when it sounds”. I immediately realised the danger of this, they were resetting the alarm and not checking for actual fires. I returned to the room, packed my family’s stuff and moved to another hotel. Next morning we returned to collect the rest of our stuff and check out. We found all the fire doors held open by fire extinguishers, fire exits and stairs blocked by laundry and a laundry equipment in unventilated room, with no obvious fire suppression systems surrounding by flammable materials and liquids. This hotel is a fire disaster waiting to happen. The attitude of the staff was disgusting. Beyond the fire issues, the room was tired, the mattress was awful, we could feel every spring inside it and the smallest movements made the springs make noises. The room had an adjoining door which has previously been forcibly opened and then nailed shut. The towel rail couldn’t be left on as it would make an incredibly loud noise. The only positives about this hotel was its restaurant which was fantastic. Great service and food.
Negative experience: Currently have a full calendar of entertainment advertised but have failed to pay any of the acts deposits or honour their bookings. This has particular been the case with a key artist booked in over the Xmas period. Totally dishonest practice causing the acts in question to lose thousands of pounds. Avoid!

Fantastic experience: Came here for a wedding, the whole day was amazing and the food was fantastic. Wedding was outside and looked lovely, room for the reception and night do was done so nicely and with a lot of thought. We'll done to all the staff for a fabulous weekend
Positive experience: Nice stay, room was average, could do with some pictures or something on the walls as it was very plain. Good breakfast selection from fresh fruit to full english. Reasonably priced at the bar. Overall not too much to complain about and I would definitely stay there again
Fantastic experience: This hotel served our needs perfectly. Within striking distance of Cardiff. Easy driving to local attractions. However be aware of the 20 Mph signs which are abundant in Wales.
Negative experience: Don't bother staying here. We barely slept with inconsiderate neighbours with a loud TV and cannibis smoking. Not dealt with very well by the hotel.
Fantastic experience: Had a Sunday roast platter (two) and everything was outstanding. The good was absolutely beautiful. Homemade Yorkshire puddings were great. Not one platter was finished their was so much and 9 of us went for food. Highly reccomend.

Positive experience: Just wanted to say that one of the young bar staff was very rude to me today. She argued with me regarding the amount of blackcurrant that was placed in my drink. She placed too much and I wanted less and told her, but she kept arguing with me. Have a word with your bar staff!
Negative experience: What a shame, no attention to detail. We were four couples staying here for one or two nights, every bedroom had two single beds, however one bed was ok and the other, in each room needed to be condemned, when you went to lay on the bed all the springs up the centre had broken and the mattress enveloped you like a hammock, dreadful. I booked a continental breakfast for both mornings, they think a continental is toast, cereal, yoghurt and stale patisseries, no fruit or orange juice or in fact other juices(none bought in) when asked for continental I got brought one slice of salami and one slice of cheese, no bread. The bar continually overcharged for drinks, a half of coke and a small Merlot, priced from £11.45 to 13.74 and when challenged they said “oh you were charged for a pint of coke and a large Merlot, buyers beware as others didn’t challenge and one of our party charged £17.60 for two pints of coors.

Fantastic experience: Nice hotel, clean, pleasant staff, good food, and a good bed, Sadly no Internet in the room I was in. It stopped once through the fire doors
Negative experience: What an awful experience. 1. not a nice welcome at all 2. Room was full of damp mold with a very dirty feel 3. Bed had hair on and in it 4. room backed onto a470, couldnt close window, the photos will show you why. Full of rotten wood which smelled. 5. The toilet rim had faeces all around it 6. Woken up at 2am to a fire alarm 7. Smoking was permitted right outside reception, smell was awful. 8. The breakfast sausages were inedible. The sad thing is, this was once a beautifully looked after Hotel, its clear the owners dont care. They seem to be cutting corners left right and centre. I was honestly appauled and wil not be returning. Had we not lived 3 hours away i wouldnt have stayed.
Negative experience: Room allocated had mould stains and growth across the whole ceiling of the bedroom and black mould growth on the ceiling of the bathroom. Obvious damp problems as water run marks could be seen on the walls and in the corners. Very damp, mouldy smell like an old shed. Hotel was fully booked so couldn't move rooms. I decided to check out because of the state of the room. Lady on the desk was very apologetic and took note of the issues to pass on to management. This room should not have been used for guests as it is a health hazard. I can only hope the other rooms in the hotel were better.
Negative experience: Received a Groupon voucher for an afternoon tea for a Christmas present Everything about the occasion was so poor. Cakes, scones, sandwiches were dry Cakes and scones shop bought and past there best. A failing business well past its prime.
Negative experience: Worst hotel stay of my life. I booked a double room. When I arrived it was a twin. The door looked like it was kicked in. The lock was damaged and I couldn’t secure the room. The receptionist gave me a master key. This is very trusting of them/worrying for a lone traveller. Around midnight there was cigarette smoke and loud music coming from the room next door. I was in Wales for a job interview and keen to sleep and not inhale smoke. I spoke to reception again. What proceeded was an hour long ordeal of threats of violence, my door being kicked, verbal abuse and swearing and 5 police officers removing my neighbour. Needless to say I didn't sleep at all. I felt so anxious. Nobody checked on me or even acknowledged this was happened. I would have expected an apology of some kind or some compensation. When I complained I was offered 20% off my next stay. No thanks. Safer in a tent.
Positive experience: Afternoon not brilliant, wasn't as dissociation, no napkins provided. Service none existent. Room ,dirty net and shower curtains, mould around Bath sealant and tile grout. Entrance door wouldn't close without slamming it. It was a wet day when we arrived, so our clothing was wet, the heating radiators were cold throughout our stay and our clothes were still damp in the morning. The old adage comes to mind, 'fir coat and no nickers ' Recently emulsions corridors which has left them smelling of dirty wet floor mops. Shame , hotel has a lot of potential.
Negative experience: March 31st 2024 - Really sorry to say that Sunday Lunch yesterday was well below the usual standards experienced...appreciate there were two large bookings coinciding with our reservation for 5 persons to celebrate a birthday - tables of approx 12 and 20 respectively had also booked...waiting 90 mins patiently for 4 tepid roasts with side plates of watery carrots and french beans that looked decidedly weary from waiting under a lamp for too long was not a great experience...the one cremated dried chicken burger was no better sadly...chef even failed with the pigs in blankets and these were to be complimentary...fair play the waitresses worked tirelessly and tried their very best to support a clearly over ambitious reservation booking and the main reason we didn't complain or make a fuss - yes, we lied and said the food was OK, fearful that after 90 mins what was served would be taken away - sitting beside other tables laden with used plates, waste food and empty glasses did not add much to the ambience...was glad to pay the bill (and for the pigs in blankets), forego dessert and drive away not looking back - overall, the experience was below that of a Brewers Fayre and sorry to say it is very unlikely we will return nor recommend.
Negative experience: I had reserved a Sunday lunch at this establishment and was deeply disappointed by the meal served. It comprised only two pieces of beef, three roast potatoes, and a side dish of frozen carrots and green beans, without any other vegetable options or Yorkshire puddings as advertised. When I brought this up with the waitress, she informed me that it was all they had and promised to speak with the manager. Despite expressing my dissatisfaction with the £16.95 meal, the manager simply referred to the menu and refused to address the issue. Given this experience and the apparent change in ownership, I doubt the longevity of their business and have no intention of returning.
Negative experience: 31march 2024 booked Easter Sunday meal for a party of 23people for my father in law 90th birthday. What a big mistake the food was distasteful had to wait 30 minutes for starters one of our party never had her starter until the rest of us finished ours. We had to wait another 40 minutes until they cleared the dirty dishs away then a further 30 minutes to bring the main meal ,the food was terrible the vegetables was frozen cold and water in the bottom of the plates the yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes was frozen and cold and tasteless. People had plates with their meat and yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes no vegetables or gravy other tables had the vegetables first but not the main meal.compind to the Manger he seemed not interested blaming lack ofstaff.we was not the only party not happy two other party's walked out during our stay.

Food was cold not fresh, vegetables over cooked frozen Yorkshire pudding and to top it all off extra meat in cauliflower....a big bug Felt so sorry for the lady who had to serve us Complaints were coming from everywhere in the room and there was a 90th birthday party going on We refused to pay and left as did other people
Negative experience: We went to the hotel today for Sunday lunch and have to say we was very disappointed it came out two slice of beef and three roast potatoes vegetables was only carrots and green beans and cauliflower cheese no potatoes no Yorkshire pudding no option of having any other vegetables was disgusting,when the staff spoke to management he didn’t care and said it states vegetables and that’s it and at £18 for Sunday lunch was disgraceful
Negative experience: Me and my partner visited for Sunday lunch today and what a disappointment it was. I ordered duck spring rolls for starter which were ok then pork belly for main, I've been served roasted pork loin instead. I didn't say anything as I thought ok I will eat it but when I tried it, it was overcooked, hard and very dry so I left meat and only ate everything else. Nobody came round to ask how is our food and nobody asked how was our food when we went to pay. After we paid we mentioned to the waitress about the pork belly on the menu being served as pork loin and how bad it was, she told us we should have said before paying and she would have reduced the price - I think the waitress should have asked how our food was before we paid? We've had Sunday lunch here few times previously with last one being 3 weeks ago and it was beautiful but today was a completely different story. We were considering booking this hotel for our wedding but after today's meal we're not sure about it. I wouldn't want my wedding guests to be served awful tasting wrong meat.
Positive experience: A mixed experience. Initial impressions of the hotel are good, but beyond the public areas, the rooms are tired and in need of maintenance. Surprisingly for a hotel of this size, there is no lift. Training for the reception to support guests with disabilities would be helpful regarding this. Aside from this, my interactions with the team have all been very friendly and helpful, including with other employees who were much more disability-aware and considerate. The food in the restaurant was good. Parking was easy and the location fairly quiet.
Fantastic experience: Lovely venue. Attended a wedding there on Saturday 16th March, service and food excellence. Didn't stay so unable to give a rating, but family who stayed said the rooms were lovely.

Fantastic experience: Hotel is lovely, situated in a lovely location Staff were lovely & helpful! Male receptionist got us booked in & had our rooms ready straight away. Great value for money. Had a lovely stay despite the fire alarm at 4.30AM was terrifying with a 10 week old baby & no reassurance from night time staff I do understand there’s a responsibility to ensure everyone has vacated the premises however there was no staff in sight & after 30 minutes of no communication from the staff we were told by fire fighters that we could return to our rooms.. other than that the hotels fab!
Fantastic experience: Great service. Food was amazing both quality and quantity. Room was clean, tidy, spacious and well organised but could probably do with a bit of updating. Very welcoming and worth a visit either for a stay or just an evening meal.
Negative experience: These guys run ghost kitchens and when I had an issue a member of staff flatly refused to let me speak to someone in the kitchen saying "they don't talk on the phone". Waited over an hour with no updates through the app took me over 20 minutes of calling for them to finally answer just to get a non answer and the member of staff just kept saying "they send a driver it has nothing to do with us" however it does as your kitchen is the one preparing the food. Poor customer service, poor communication I hope the apps that have kept your business running decide to up and end your partnerships. Honestly baffling experience. I'm following up with customer support through Uber eats to let them know of the terrible help the hotel has been. Don't be a ghost kitchen if you can't staff enough people for demand.
Positive experience: I enjoyed my stay here while bikepacking, shopping for house in the valleys. First night, they stored my bike in storage room. Next night, just easier to bring bike into room. Lovely staff. Even while close to main road, think they could've done more then with their outdoor space in terms of outdoor seating and stuff. It's nice view down the Rhondda, not a bad a choice at the bar and great service.
Fantastic experience: We stopped in for refreshments after a walk. The atmosphere was delightful and service exceptional. It can ve pricey, but I loved it. Will call again when we're passing through.
Positive experience: Went there for a meal. Online booking was different to what the staff were advised of. Had Roast Beef Dinner and the meat was carved much too thickly, was tough and hard to eat. Unusually, the Roast Beef Dinner was served stacked! Very Weird!
Negative experience: Christmas Dinner had a take away Christmas dinner and we were very disappointed with it not much for 3 people to share and gravy like water. Rang on Christmas Day to sort out no one available to talk to told by staff manager in kitchen to busy to talk will ring Boxing Day I went to the Heritage Hotel in person on Boxing Day and told the Manager was aware of my complaint and will get back to us. It’s now late Saturday my wife has rang the hotel to speak to the manager a couple of times and we emailed the hotel manager direct on Boxing Day and left my wife’s phone number On my visit to the Heritage Hotel the staff referred me to the manager as they did not have authority they were polite.
Negative experience: Was not happy with Christmas party on the 15th December 2023. Booked for a buffet ,ended up with a cold Christmas dinner. Not at all happy ,will not be coming back ,there was 14 of us and it wasn’t cheap. There was no feed back about the Meal being changed, Service could have been more pleasant. Fantastic experience: I don’t know where to start! Me and my husband had our wedding at the Heratidge park on the 11th November this year. From finding the hotel and booking our day all the way up to the day itself was great! - any worries or questions I had were replied to quickly and an issues addressed in good time. Sasha and her team was amazing! On the day of our wedding - was amazing! All the hotel staff was so helpful and made sure the day ran smoothly, the hotel manager was also amazing! He came to let me know when it was time to head down. All staff super friendly and very professional I would 100% recommend having your wedding there! I wish I could do it all over again. It certainly won’t be our last visit, we plan to come back every anniversary for a few days! I think the layout and the decor of the hotel are very homely and cosy! The rooms are lovely too! Perfect for a winter stay! Perfect for a stay all year round to be fair! The food is great! 10/10 we did have dietary requirements for our wedding day and they provided! I didn’t catch her name but we want to also give a shout out to the blue haired lady who ran our event! She did amazing. And didn’t stop. Negative experience: What a dive of a hotel. Upon arrival we was greeted by ms happy on reception. On the way to our rooms you can see the hotel is in dyer need of a refurbishment. The carpets are thread bear going up the stairs the banister is old and loose. The rooms are covered in dust cobwebs on the ceilings and also very dated and warn out bathroom has a damp smell about it. No bath mat for the shower Also there isn’t any disabled parking either

Negative experience: Attended a wedding, we were absolutely freezing all day, when we asked to have the heating on we were told it had been on since 7.30 a.m, I think this was a untruth as it did not warm up all day and evening, very dissapointed
Positive experience: Busy little hotel, but a good bar and restaurant. Better than a Travelodge And around the same price. Rooms are big, although the decor is starting to show its age. Shower was unbelievably powerful and hot this morning.

Negative experience: I spent a week in this hotel, I have no objections to the housekeeping. At the end of my stay, something happened to me that I can't explain. The hotel manager dragged me out of the shower, claiming that I had extended my stay. I showed my confirmation, I'm right, we checked the confirmation I signed after arrival, I'm right. However, the manager claims that someone changed it and shows my name and says that it was him who changed it. I tell the manager that these are my name and I haven't changed anything. Absolutely no apology from him for dragging me out of the shower, nothing, no reaction, the manager disappeared. I travel a lot due to work, but this was my first strange experience. Next time I will look for another accommodation. Never again.
Positive experience: Only went to lunch but was shown some rooms which looked nice. Lunch was really good enjoyed every bit the staff friendly the manager was really good friendly and bubbly. I would recomend this place to anyone

Negative experience: Hi, me and my husband check in on Saturday, there was an old lady in reception who was completely rude and serious, who make us to feel that we are from another world, she asked for breakfast, we said we will decide later on, and then she asked for bank card details, idk what kind of hotel is this who took bank card details, although we already paid, we stayed there for 2 days, no Internet on TV, even though can't see anything on tv, just grey screen, no WiFi, room was okay, we call the receptionist guy thanks to him he came and fix the TV and said we have issue with Internet waooo like for 2 days seriously, next day we came early at 5 to hotel just to get dessert in our room but guess what receptionist said we don't have anything except sandwiches omg, and when I check out after 30mins they deduct money and when we called, we got news that we had breakfast which we didn't, that rude receptionist old lady add us in breakfast. It is such a pathetic service and a bad hotel I have even seen in the UK. They don't even deserve any rating.

Fantastic experience: Always stay here when working in south wales…home away from home staff are superb especially Lynsey on the bar and restaurant(knows my order even before I do)and Sara on reception who helped me out by signing for some important Mail I got delivered there,that said all the staff are amazing…and also the food is another level including the hanging kebabs and Cajun chicken burgers..see you all soon..

Positive experience: Went to a private function disappointed that you had to pay for car parking but due to amount of people there they did allow free parking. Poor selection of gin mostly gordens flavoured gin. Service was pretty good staff were pleasant. Chairs in function room were a little shaky. Didn't stay so can't comment on rooms.

Negative experience: Stayed 1 night at the heritage park Hotel and was very disappointed overall. The room was nice but no heating so room was cold. Warm water run out fast so the bath was cold Served by a pervy creepy barman / waiter who was drooling at the sight of the wife's breasts. The food was over cooked and undercooked in places. Worst meal iv ever had out. Zero vegan safe food.

Fantastic experience: Great hotel, gym was good and rooms were clean, TVs had Netflix, YouTube etc which was good. Stayed for a night 2nd-3rd July, breakfast was great and the girl who served us (unsure of name) was super friendly and professional. Great value for money, nice location would recommend for all types of people.

Negative experience: Group of 20 booked into the loft for a family occasion on 17th June 2023. We were looking forward to a first positive experience since we were last there for my father's funeral reception. Service was slow at bar (understaffed) as wedding was also on. Food was adequate but now we have received £100 parking fines for each vehicle for parking at the venue where we ate. The fine amounts to a surcharge which removes any desire to want to eat or book here again. A message left for management has not been returned which is poor. It isn't the food leaving a bitter taste... July 1st... in spite of emailing my number and dictating my number verbally to a staff member who wanted to help, the manager has not returned any calls to talk on the phone. Very disappointing. In the interim a third vehicle in our group also received a fine which they paid for fear of escalating the penalty. When emailed, Ilona declared that: "The fine has been paid. The case is closed." I am staggered by the below par customer service and indifferent and diffident attitude to a legitimate request for the hotel to represent the interests of its customers and await a more professional response. Now 2 months on, and empty platitudes from different hotel staff has yielded no returns of fines paid by 2 of our party. I wonder what trading standards will say?
Negative experience: Beware got new parking surveillance company at this hotel,went for lunch on the Saturday only to have a parking fine of 100 pound through the post a few weeks later,this company trying it on to get money out of people when they were parked legitimately.Phoned to get it sorted to say to be told there's a glitch In the system as its new and won't be charged only to have a letter in the post today reducing it to 25 pound.If its not recinded I'll see these people in court

Negative experience: Waited 3hrs for a room that looks like something from a scene in Ghostbusters. Could have made the walls good in that time. Staff at reception unhelpfull. Paid for the room but no further card details and I cant have my room. Travelling around Wales on business and the worst by far. Travel upto pembrokeshire and see what you get for less money + views are outstanding. Very very disappointed.

Negative experience: My wife attempted to book a room a year ago for a wedding, the transaction did not complete and were told we'd have to contact them again to secure a booking which we decided against. We have now been charged for the room we did not want or use and they have charged us twice, and refusing to refund any of the money. Update/ Response: this has not been resolved on another platform as the hotel have refused to refund any payments taken and is now being handled by the bank.

Fantastic experience: Clean, conveniently situated hotel for visiting close family nearby. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Meals were great with really good service. Not the height of luxury but priced accordingly. Will be back!

Fantastic experience: We had my mother's celebration of life gathering at the heritage park this week. . The staff could not have been more helpful and supportive. We stayed over night and the accommodation was clean and warm and the rooms contained everything we needed. Thank you for making a difficult day, so much easier for us.

Negative experience: No response from two emails sent to the heritage park hotel. I am emailing after the family meal we had at the heritage loft restaurant last night - 6th January. I did not feel it appropriate to complain last night as it was my sisters 40th birthday and there were 16 of us in total but I do feel it is important to give feedback today on the evening and meals. To start, it was disappointing to see a great big pot full of water right where we were sat due to a leak in the conservatory. Given the restaurant was very quiet last night I am sure we could have been seated elsewhere, even if we were slightly separated. A simple phone call to explain could have solved this. Secondly, the majority of the food was cold when arriving at our table, especially the fish and chips. We waited a further 5 minutes for the hanging kebabs to arrive which meant some people were half way through their meals by the time 4 of the party had received their kebabs. The other meals would have been stone cold had we waited for all the meals to arrive before starting together. Also, the hanging kebabs are advertised as coming with a full salad and red cabaret etc. None of this was included last night, meaning it was just the kebabs, chips and naan bread (very dry). Again this was very disappointing and could have been resolved if I had been contacted before hand and explained that a lot of your delivery order hadn’t arrive that day. As this was the case with the chicken wings, which several people ordered for their starter but then had to change their order on arrival. The steaks (which as all meals were pre ordered) with preference added, were very over cooked and very dry. Again disappointing when they are almost £22 each!!! Considering all of this, the service from the two ladies last night was lovely, although they did seem quite stretched and understaffed. There were five separate families in my party last night with the bills ranging from £45 - £95 (not including drinks), so some families had very expensive bills considering the poor quality and execution. We have dined with yourselves on many occasions over the years and this was very disappointing hence the need for feedback.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my husband got married here 25th November 2022. We booked the wedding with only 5 months notice and nothing was too much trouble. We sent countless emails, some of which were essays. Sorry again Natasha!! Anytime we wanted a meeting, Natasha was on hand with help and advice. The day itself was perfect and both ourselves and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the day and evening. Some of our guests had special dietary requirements and the chef adapted the menu to accommodate these with no issues. This was really appreciated as these guests didn't feel singled out or excluded for having allergies. Thank you once again for this. Approx. 15 rooms were booked by our guests and everyone complimented the rooms and breakfast the following morning. We are very pleased that we chose The Heritage Park Hotel for our wedding and would recommend this venue to anyone looking for somewhere to have their whole Wedding Day. Negative experience: We went to the Heritage Park for a meal. The food was very nice. However, the menu stated "Blade of beef" yet it was more like a sliver. There was very little Christmas decorations, no Christmas music, no ambiance. One of the staff was obviously not in a good mood and this did not help the less than festive feeling. We would definitely not consider returning for a Christmas meal, if at all any.

Negative experience: We attended a murder mystery. That was great. The chairs were rickety and dangerous.The food was very disappointing in quantity and quality.The bars was poorly stocked they had to keep going between bars to get what you wanted and staff bickering with eachother. The venue was beautiful and have been in the past. So let's hope this is helpful to make changes.

Negative experience: Be very careful before booking here. They wrongly charged me twice (£110!) and still won't refund me, after weeks of chasing. I've contacted multiple times and keep getting told it's being dealt with. It's been weeks now and still nothing. Would not recommend staying here as you could end up being charged twice and not be able to get your money back. Seems to happen to quite a few others looking at other reviews :/ Totally unacceptable during cost of living crisis

Positive experience: We spent 2 nights for a wedding in a room with twin beds. The resturant food was amazing, great chef. The staff were so attentive, not too over baring to the wedding party. Easy to charge food and drinks to the room. Did not have time to use the gym. Only niggle was when entering the room off the main road it smelt damp. The hotels greatest assets are its staff. Each department worked hard to ensure everyone was catered for. Nothing was too much effort. The bar area was cosy. I would recommend booking for events or staying here for a nice break.
