Abercynon Sports Centre

Positive experience: Everything you may need in a sports/leisure centre! I feel swimming is a bit pricey though only downside.

Fantastic experience: Visited to use the pool with my baby. It's a nice pool, colder than Aberdare but not too cold. The staff and the lifeguards are all helpful and friendly!

Fantastic experience: Take the kids to swimming lessons here every week. They love it and the staff are very friendly and helpful

Fantastic experience: The woman at the desk was very friendly and welcoming. Offered us a deal and was completely understanding when we said no thank you. Set me up very quickly and couldn’t be anymore helpful. The gym facilities are amazing and will definitely be back soon.

Positive experience: Typically Valleys under financed Leisure Centre. Staff friendly and centre kept clean. As in most places the snack vending machines rarely work properly without the assistance of staff - some of whom more prepared to help than others. Rediculously priced snacks.

Fantastic experience: Good amenities, loads to suit everyone and friendly staff, always helpful.. outside play area, lido in summer school holidays ,football pitches, all add up to a great local resource for exercise and fun. highly recommend. If you haven't been before then take the plunge... its great

Fantastic experience: Sat in the sunshine with an I've cold drink. Food delicious. Had a stinebaked meaty pizza and dirty fries accompanied by garlic bread. Staff couldn't do enough, polite and friendly and accommodated request for no peppers on pizza.

Negative experience: Try to call get info on classes etc reception very slow or never pick up. showering and changing area's often very dirty lots of staff hanging around doing very little. Gym is good. but RCT leisure generally V poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: We love this sports centre, not crowded Suite to us, away from kids, more respectively area

Negative experience: Went to go for a meditation class Making the journey from mountain ash the class was cancelled. Could of made a comment on Facebook. Save me making a wasted journey.

Negative experience: Staff weren't very keen on giving any information, also didn't seem happy at all. Viewing area for swimming wasn't 'open' yet staff members on thier mobiles happily used it ‍♂️ my son can swim 50+ meters yet was shouted at for passing the 'no arm band' zone and he wasn't even wearing any. Asked to use a diving weight which was being used to prop the door open only to be told it may be to heavy for us? Very disappointed in the service for the money. Doubt we will return

Positive experience: Loved this park.. not many 'rides' but quiet and well maintained- one feature under construction/maintenance, otherwise a good selection for the kids to play on.. not many people so social distancing was easy.. still a lovely park after all these years - I used to visit as a child 40+ years ago!!

Fantastic experience: First time back in the gym after lockdown and I was really surprised with how good the set up was. Especially giving everyone their own little sanitiser to use going around. Very social distanced felt completely safe

Positive experience: Train here regularly with my swim team. The pool is always very clean and since it’s renovations a few years back, it has drastically improved. The showers are clean and work very well and the refreshed changing area is also clean and spacious. The pool also has diving blocks now, which i think were a great addition. Docked a star because they also put in a new ceiling... with no lines so backstroke can sometimes be a bit hit or miss

Only negative ...its really difficult to book a place (using my More card) as no one answers the phone when I try to book.Havent been for the last 2 weeks as I have given up after ringing 3 or 4 times.Already tried twice today.Really frustrating!!

Positive experience: Good range of classes and activities, could do with being refurbished in some parts. Swimming pool is slightly warmer than nearby Aberdare which we are told is because there is no separate toddler pool, no diving pool. Very nice staff. There is a large car park.
