Positive experience: gyms are way too small with limited options, staff is very nice n welcoming. No trainers around unless you book one i guess. Pool is ver well maintained and quite big. suana, steem and changing rooms could be cleaner and upgrade

Negative experience: Upsetting experience with staff member Hannah she is so nasty, I had an honest issue with freezing my membership. However Hannah accused me of lying about it. She was rude and obnoxious not sure who she thinks she is talking to a member for years like that. She needs customer service training from Linda.

Fantastic experience: Love my local

Negative experience: Machine always broken, the only good thing about that place is the receptionist, usually very lovely. The times aren’t often updated, machines very limited, and not enough space to actually do a 30 min training with a large group, thankfully because they all know each other they still have a go regardless, there’s so much that has to be improved in that place, also the steam room seems to be working 50% of the time, the other 50% there’s just warmed air with a little bit of fragrance..

Negative experience: Most staff members are rude and have zero to no customer service skills , the only nice member of staff is Hannah. BE active memebers are treated in a discriminatory manner. Several workiut machine have been out of order for months if not years. They keep taking on new members , the centre is not big enough to cater for all the members, health and safety is a genuine concern especially at BE active times which is only 1 hour, the least the centre could do is to increase the timings for BE active memebers or put a cap on how many ppl can attend the session

Negative experience: Filthy, do they even have cleaners working here I wonder? Cancelled my Membership after seeing how dirty it was.

Negative experience: Reception staff don't speak at all, no greetings, the changing rooms are dirty and smelly like sewers, swimmers just leave clothes in cubicles so you have to get changed in the view of everyone Mens rooms only have 6-8 cubicles but women's have a lot more plus a second changing room Swim coaches don't engage with parents to tell if their kids are progressing. It has potential but needs a revamp

Negative experience: I recently visited a swimming leisure center in Perry Barr, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. The facility itself was not well-maintained, with cleanliness being a major issue. Additionally, I encountered rude staff members whose behavior was unacceptable. Moreover, I was shocked to witness instances of racism during my time there. Overall, my visit was marred by these negative experiences. I hope the management takes steps to address these issues for the well-being of all visitors. As well as the fact as they as soon as the family was entering the pool we was told that we need to get right out! The tone of voice they speak to is horrific.And to add we booked out swimming places a week before and on the day we was told we need to wait for people to get out,As I said we had booked!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE OF HORROR!

Negative experience: Awful experience son hated the swimming lessons. The main teacher he had seemed to have no passion or interest in what she was doing and didn’t seem to be a very kid friendly person, she wouldn’t get in the pool sometimes with the kids baring in mind my son is four and these were his first ever lessons. She kept saying the word no to him on his first lesson when he didn’t understand how to do the back stroke rather than just show him or help him this lead to him him crying and not wanting to go back. Teacher changed a few times and he had one that was absolutely amazing but because it changed frequently he only ever had her once. Nightmare to try and cancel membership. The changing room had an ant infestation and wasn’t every clean at all. Reception staff were always nice and friendly.

Negative experience: Where do I start? Weights area reminds you of a garage gym. Upstairs/downstairs, pull out your phone and try to find the passcode only to enter and see that the only thing available is the rowing machine...run back down, same thing. Low ceilings so standing shoulder exercises forget about em. You do not get money's worth, price is a rob for what you are getting. Cherry on top, just the thing to annoy you...car entrance, if you don't drive in at 1mph you risk your bumper being damaged. Been trying to cancel but they don't pick up the phone...Cant wait till Alexander stadium gym reopens.

Negative experience: The facilities are really poor. Starting with the gym, it has a very limited choice of machines, and half of them are always broken, taking ages to be repaired. I've seen people vaping while training, with staff members seemingly unconcerned. The condition of the toilets and changing rooms is appalling—they haven't been renovated for decades and smell of urine and worse. The steam room has barely been working for years, and the sauna area is always filthy. The small space in front of the sauna is often littered with hair, and I've seen elderly people shaving and powdering their toenails, which is disgusting when you're just trying to enjoy the sauna. I could go on, but simply put, you pay £35 per month for nothing.

Negative experience: The staff are hostile and rude. The other people there are rude and swear at you if you don’t swim at their pace . As a person of colour I was verbally abused by white people and told “it’s always the same ones” even though it was my first time there.

Negative experience: I gave it 2 stars because of the friendly staff and the pool was nice and warm, otherwise I would give it zero, you can only have an hour in the swimming pool which isn't long enough, and the changing rooms smell of urine, if those were sorted then I would rate it 4 or 5 stars

Negative experience: Awful, loud and very unwelcoming poolside female staff members. Mainly the old blonde pool attendant. She comes across as a stalag guard. Someone needs informing she works for a leisure centre...someone else's leisure centre!

Negative experience: Diabolical. Wasted so much time at this swimming baths for lessons for a child. Multiple teachers, can’t keep staff longer than a month, the showers are like taking part in a bushtucker trial. They smell of urine, it’s filthy, turns your stomach, it’s always kicking off. You need to keep your shoes ON to protect your feet from the filth. It’s seriously outdated! They should stop all lessons until they sort out the staffing and cleanliness of the place. Why I stayed here for so long I do not know. Huge waste of time. The standard here is so low.

Positive experience: While the parking situation at the center is frequently congested, the facilities are somewhat outdated, and the location isn't particularly convenient due to regular traffic jams on the roads leading to it, the staff here are quite pleasant and provide a positive aspect to the experience.

Negative experience: Terrible did nothing were just talking obnoxious do not recommend at alll

Positive experience: A slightly ageing facility. Still a really good pool, cared for by well meaning staff - but has very limited open swimming times so best to check ahead before you arrive. The school holiday programs and timetables look much better for general use though.

Negative experience: Opening and closing time is different from every other leisure centre, close way too early on weekends.

Negative experience: Closes at 1Pm (still on covid hours - but charge the members full price membership !! For half day weekends!!!!Single Mom of three trying to cancel my membership as I'm struggling, was told by Beeches that Yes a payment as come out 1st of the month which was the same day I rang to cancel but I was told they would still take out another payment for the following month. Even if I cancel today can't understand why take out for another month, rude heartless woman told me if I don't pay for the following month it will be then sent to debit collector's. Disgusting.. you can never swim there as the pool is occupied with lessons 24/7 .

Fantastic experience: My local sauna and have been really impressed by staff and facilities, decor could do with a upgrade but still clean and tidy thank you to all the staff especially Mandy

Positive experience: Good facility for serious swimmers in the pool area. Better than all the other pools locally. Still lots of none swimmers traipsing through showers with muddy boots. Difficult to manage, as they seem to run short of over shoes on occasion.

Negative experience: Well… not the best swimming/leisure centre in Birmingham. As soon as you walk in you are met with the reception staff who just seem like they literally do not want to be there. They come across as very miserable, hostile and not welcoming! Then as soon as you walk in the women’s changing room, my goodness me the urine smell just smacks you in the face like wind. It’s like you’re gagging that’s how bad it is. Even the chlorine does not overpower the urine smell that’s how strong it is. The price they charge is way too expensive for the facilities and customer service they provide. If anything it’s a very overrated place, you are better off swimming in the pond with the ducks, swans and geese’s for free than wasting money in this place.

Positive experience: Large pool, they also do fun pool sessions with a range of inflated items available in the pool. Staff have always been friendly and accommodating.

Negative experience: Disgrace!!! Been paying full membership for months to get my lane swimming in at the evening. Only now to experience the gym have rented out the three lanes to a swimming club at the evening leaving a couple of lanes for the gym members to use. It was awful packed in like sardines importantly taking our money for the use of the pool to swim, when clearly they don't care about their members and want to make more money by rented some pool lanes out to the new swimmers club. Disgraceful they need to either stop the club or reduce the swimmers membership!!! This calls for a petition! !!!!

Positive experience: Pricey for what it is. The changing room toilet area smelt like urine. Maybe its the schoolkids lack of hygiene but needs some updating for sure. Gym area is good but the changing rooms is a let down doubt I'd actually pay membership

Negative experience: Be very careful when cancelling memberships. They deny emails, online forms, phone calls and voice messages. They leave contact about supposed "missed payment" until its too late to query, because if you do they just pass it over to a credit collection firm. Absolute discrace! Pretty sure it's fraudulent. Seems I'm not the only one who has had issues cancelling, but they get away with it! Will also cancel swimming lessons with no notice and you are still charged for them! Tbf some of the reception team do appear to be helpful. But my experience as a whole is awful and I would advise when you cancel to follow it up in person, and probably record the interaction/ have witnesses....

Fantastic experience: Used to go here when I was secondary school, glad it's still about, staff are very friendly, showers and changing rooms decent. £1 for the lockers, but you get it back at least.

Positive experience: Dated needs a revamp hasn't changed at all since I was a kid early 90s. New gym though which looks ok

Positive experience: The staff are the best, really lovely. But the building and changing rooms are in desperate need. The one shower hadn't worked for months and the roof leaks in the changing rooms. It doesn't look like anything has been done there since I had lesson at school in the seventies. Come on give the place a make over please

Negative experience: Do not send your child here for swimming lessons. The changing rooms have a strong smell of urine, you have an army of ants crawling over your clothes as you’re trying to get dressed. They then send bailiffs when you cancel because of these reasons even tho you are owed money from the lessons you paid for which the swim teachers cancelled! Maybe they should spend their time actually cleaning the place than sending bailiffs to people who leave how about I send environmental health and bailiffs to you! Disgusting is an understatement!

Positive experience: Staff & facilities are great but the building is old & needs a revamp. Its a real shame as this causes it to often look tatty & dirty.

Negative experience: The smell from drains in ladies changing rooms is disgusting. They have a serious problem. It's no good getting the staff to put a bucket of water with bleach/cleaning fluid down them it needs sorting. Also around water line of pool is dirty needs better cleaning. It's a sham because it is a nice swimming baths.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for around 3 yrs now, love the gym (but not in free hr) got all the machines I need to use, with wipes & spray to clean all down after use. The pool is fine, you just need to look at the timetable as when you can use it. The steam & sauna rooms are great, I love em, relax, unwind, chill after a good session in the gym or after a hard day's work. The showers & changing room are what you would expect from a leisure centre. Have a shower, get changed job done. The membership fee compared to others is great, no frills & no poncy posers.

Negative experience: Lighting in the female changing room needs sorting. The shower tray is awful - need schedule cleaning during busy periods. And the pool needs to get a good clean dead skin cells forming around side of pool.

Negative experience: Avoid if your a hijabi Muslim. I had a horrible experience only went 2 days and I’ve requested to cancel my membership. Majority of the staff were lovely. Facilities were ok I would’ve been happy to continue based on the facilities but the 2 staff members who went out of their way to make me feel awkward was not worth the money. I was told off in the pool and although I respected the staff members request, it was odd when 4 other people continued to swim freely and not being pulled aside like me for the same mistake. The whole hour there and they continue to swim with nobody pulling them aside, we were all also in the same lane. The same staff member plus another staff member who had been behaving rudely since my very first interaction with her, they were staring at me so disrespectfully from the changing room up to the main exit. I looked back and they were both still staring just as I left.I even said thank you which was ignored.There were further incidents but it’s too long to go into detail here. It’s sad that there are no clear avenues to make complaints with an organisation like this. It’s also sad its 2022 and I was made to feel like an alien.

Fantastic experience: I'm not really a leaving a review type of person but after reading some of the negative comments I thought its only right that I let people know that this is a fantastic place with very lovely staff and you should visit ASAP. Don't hesitate.You'll love it. I visit this centre every week with my kids and we have a great time. I've not had any problems. We all have fun and shall continue going.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting! I telephoned yesterday to book a family swim and was told that there was no need to book and I could just turn up as they were running at full capacity. Showed up and was turned away saying that they were fully booked and needed to telephone before hand. Spoke to the duty manager who as far as she was concerned said all staff were aware of the booking system still in place. Well obviously not. Very unhelpful considering you were completely in the wrong.

Fantastic experience: Kids love it. One lifeguard is incredibly rude and shouts alot, I understand she has a job safe guarding but to shout and give dirty looks constantly isn't necessary

Negative experience: Decent enough gym but the whole building could do with an update. Update 2 years later. The place continues to deteriorate, most of the cubicles have no doors and the showers give you a trickle of water the whole place just feels grimey, I don't believe it is ever cleaned. The car park is a hazard with pot holes everywhere. The time for a re-fit has been overdue for many years now. A note to staff, put the membership scanners in a place where people can scan and walk in without queuing for 10 mins. Things run a lot smoother at Erdington and Ladywood because of this. Also the timings are shorter now which is so inconvenient. A month on the car park has been sorted but nothing else, the water fountains don't work now and sometimes they forget to turn the machines on in the morning, knock it down and start again.

Positive experience: Really struggle to get parked in the car park and local roads don't have much space. The changing rooms and general upkeep isn't great.

Fantastic experience: A good place to go for a swim and Sauna and Steam bath although I prefer the old Sauna/Steam baths but they have to move with the time I suppose.
