Negative experience: I am devastated to be having to leave this review as I use this leisure centre often but when I was coming into the building recently I was denied entry by a worker called Craig this happened a few days ago and I was extremely disappointed I expected better from this Craig and he looked dirty at me as I was nothing

Fantastic experience: Showing it's age a bit but it's very clean. Water temperature in the pool is great for doing lengths, some places have it slightly to warm which makes distance swimming really difficult. The new, replacement building opens in Spring 2025

Negative experience: Never liked Kingsway as a teenager, made a poor decision to return for a while, but nothing has changed. Depressing, miserable looking building, doesn't inspire or enthuse you at all. The place is filthy and in a general state of disrepair. Broken lockers, antiquated showers, archaic facilities. Noone seems to care, but they happily take your money. However I recently came to my senses thinking, 'Why am I actually paying for this?!' Happily training somewhere else now. Staff seem thoroughly demotivated, lifeguards look like they'd rather not be there at all, some watching the clock more than the water. Pool is dark and gloomy, no windows or natural light. Ugly brick walls, it's like swimming in an underground bunker, dull and dreary. The water is usually filthy as well. Saw a lifeguard lowering a metal, wheelie, mop bucket into the pool to fill it up! Couldn't help wondering what else had it been used for? Gym is poorly staffed, manned occasionally by an angry looking woman with glasses who never smiles. Majority of receptionists are glum and unsmiling, with a couple of pleasant and friendly ones as well. The one with tied back fair hair is very rude and snotty, delusions of grandeur. The new Kingsway building that's under construction looks promising. Let's hope the staff do it justice!

Fantastic experience: Great local swimming pool not to busy has loads of other facilities

Negative experience: The swimming pool is like a tin can. The parking of the Centre is small. I reccomend parking a cross the road on bigger parking.

Positive experience: I played badminton here. The place is a little dated but it has some good facilities. Badminton club is on a Thursday 7:30 till 9:30 pm, all comers welcome

Positive experience: It's great for early morning swims. It gets pretty busy all other times.

Positive experience: It's outdated and the swimming gala times mean you can never get in the pool after 5pm on weekdays, not ideal when you work full time.

Fantastic experience: A really great leisure centre there are lots of facilities and a fantastic swimming pool with swim only lanes. It can get busy as expected but great staff and facilities.

Negative experience: Got squared up to today and they pushed me really wouldn't recommend poo on toilet floor staff are rude wouldn't let me use free weights or bench horrible gym horrible experience the one star is generous will not be coming back . Not to mention the instructor stunk of fish

Negative experience: Absolutely dreadful times for teenage kids,my son goes and has been told that he can only use half the gym and is not allowed in because of other kids.Just robbing are money not to mention how outdated the swimming area is. Would not recommend.

Negative experience: To be honest this place is dreadful, from abysmal locker rooms and swimming pools to dirty toilets it’s got it all for a place 20 years ago. Gym manager people square up to kids and just change the rules as they go, not to mention the fact it www closed for half of the summer. Why promote a teen gym to kick us out without warning? it’s clear the only way they get away from they’re dying marriage is having a go at kids just trying to train. Do better

Negative experience: To be honest this has been a terrible experience . Had a membership for two months and a few lads from a different school were messing about on Tuesday . We weren’t mates with them but on Wednesday they barred us from using the free weights . And on the Friday they barred us from the whole gym . They snatched membership cards , swore at us and intimidated us . Really a terrible experience that I wouldn’t reccomend

Negative experience: Absolutely disgraceful gym and staff members , advertise and sell memberships to encourage teenagers but do the absolute opposite , happy to take their parents money but do nothing to accommodate the children , never seen a gym have to cancel gym times so much due to staff shortages, simple if you don’t have the staff stop taking on more members ! What an earth am I paying for JOKE !! Do not recommend

Negative experience: Do not recommend. Awful staff and poor facilities. Swimming is ok , however gym is poor . Equipment ok but poor times , poor staff and poor management. Better places in the area. I will say I’ve not had a pleasant time!

Fantastic experience: I use the center for swimming , they have amazing 2 pools , olympic one and a small pool for children , the place is clean and the changing rooms are very clean too , staff is very friendly and polite

Fantastic experience: Went there for the No Strings Attached Badminton. Players were friendly and the facilities were good.

Negative experience: Attended for a Gala. Seating was very uncomfortable and the lack of windows made it feel quite dated. Positive note was that the staff were friendly and polite.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic leisure centre which hosted a walking netball tournament..hence my visit. Swimming pool ,squash courts ,classroom,balcony viewing of the sports hall,gym with equipment Free parking .Good toilet facilities . Drinks available.

Fantastic experience: Used it mainly for the swimming pool, ideal for the grandchildren.

Negative experience: The pool in general is okay. The changing rooms could be better kept and maintained. Most of the staff I have encountered have been quite rude and the website isn't updated, leading to trips here to swim when in fact the pool has been closed.

Positive experience: Pool water is fairly warm, changing rooms are dated and need a refurbishment. Limited parking given the size of the building but there's always been spaces when I've gone.

Negative experience: The place is a joke. Ring at 9.30am to ask if need to book to be told no just turn up at 10.30am. Turn up to be told pool is closed. Big pool opens at 12, turn up at 12 to be told pool is closed. Very upset 3 year old and wasted trips / day. Won't be returning to swim or gym.

Positive experience: Enjoyed our swim, the Pool and changing rooms were clean and spacious. Friendly staff. Sadly an inconsiderate person who took over the only shower cubicle for over 15 minutes meant there was a queue for the one remaining shower! Only marked down to 4 stars due to the slightly too loud, and choice of music being played while we were swimming.

Fantastic experience: It has everything and it's a very good price. Gym, swim, sauna and steam room. Everything you will ever need.

Negative experience: Took my 14 month old grandson to the baby pool, the baby/ disabled changing rooms were filthy an in a terrible state of repair. There were tiles missing off walls and the equipment was rusty (grab rails, assisted chairs). The pool it’s self wasn’t really warm enough for baby’s an neither was the changing rooms. My advise if you have a young baby or someone with disabilities then avoid. On a plus the staff are lovely .

Negative experience: Booked once for a 2hour football session with some work colleagues. Poor and overpriced facilities. The sports hall is very old and small. Definitely not worth it.

Fantastic experience: This is a great leisure centre with excellent facilities for the regular fitness enthusiast or families with children. They have a great well equipped gym, workout classes and two great pools. A big main pool and a great sized children's pool. The memberships are an excellent price too we pay just £52 per month for two adults and 4 children. Two of which can atually use the gym. Not bad considering just going to swim at a local pool used to cost us £14.80 per visit.
