Positive experience: Needs to be cleaned more often in the swimming/changing areas and temperature in the pool need to be warmer. However it is sensibly priced and the staff are helpful.

Fantastic experience: 1st time I've ever been to the swimming pool in Tenterden, even though it's only up the road. The Ashford pool is much closer. Pleasantly surprised. The pool was nice a warm with plenty of staff on hand. The kids were happy and didn't want to leave spending most of the time playing in the waves or on the slide. Changing area was nice and clean as well. Will visit again.

Fantastic experience: Such a great place to take the kids swimming, the shallow area is vast with things to entertain the kids and you can enjoy the waves too. Importantly the changing rooms were clean all the staff were helpful and friendly, finished off with a lovely hot chocolate and toastie in the cafe

Negative experience: This gym is in desperate need of a deep clean, which it clearly hasn’t had in ages. The changing rooms are filthy, with hair, dust, and even discarded plasters littering the floors. The pool area is equally dirty, and the changing rooms nearby are just as bad. There seems to be no cleaning schedule in place, and the staff hired appear uninterested in maintaining basic hygiene. The reception staff have been consistently rude and unwelcoming for years, further detracting from the experience. The Rainbow Room floor has visibly changed color from neglect, with dirt and dust piling up over time. There’s so much potential to improve this place, yet nothing is being done to address these glaring issues.

Fantastic experience: We go here to play pickle ball, well run and lots of play, equipment supplied, £4.90 for nearly 2 hours. Nice tidy leisure centre, parking available with 2hrs free if using the centre. Friendly staff. Haven't used any other parts of the centre. Cafe on site.

Fantastic experience: I tend to go to classes and enjoy being pushed and worked hard. I have enjoyed all the classes I have attended in the month since I have joined but Hayley is incredible.....her classes are knowledgeable and fun but you want to give it your all! This week I have done 2 classes with Emma.....again a great instructor. It is nice to have support like this when you are on a fitness journey!!!

Positive experience: Gym well appointed with free weights and machines. Pool large and free swimming area not too crowded. Would get a higher rating if the showers worked. Showers in both Wet and Dry area both not working; I was told by someone in the changing room that they'd been out for months - unacceptable!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Tenterden swimming pool! Lovely time there on the flume and wave machine and the inflatable looks awesome! Not to busy and lovely friendly lifeguards and Christmas music to top it all off! Thank you so much for such a lovely time!

Negative experience: Went lane swimming for 1 hour on Tuesday evening. Cost over £10 , way more than any other local pool. Facilities are run down and dirty. No working showers, non working sinks in the toilets and the pool had a lot of dirt on the bottom. Plus side, pool was nearly empty...but Im not surprised.

Positive experience: Only 2 disabled/enclosed showers so was a long wait in cold changing room

Negative experience: Gone down hill. Very overpriced for a mediocre small pool and the most annoying thing is the website is useless with no pricing and incorrect swimming information. Cost £17.60 for 1 adult and 2 kids with £3.90 off the price for parking and we were then told after paying that we have timed sessions even though on the website it's open swim almost all day. The pool is fairly cold although this doesn't bother me and the kids. Lots of human hair building up by the communal showers, get the impression cleaning doesn't happen often enough but may be wrong. Probably only worth going with real young ones although it's still overpriced.

Fantastic experience: I have recently moved to the area and heard all sorts of horror stories from my neighbours about the pool/leisure centre as it was under the old management company. However, I went along and had a look for myself, and was impressed enough by the facilities & friendly staff to immediately sign up for 3 months membership...... I am already hooked on the spinning classes, and have even managed to find my way back into the gym. The spinning instructors are great and there is a good selection of equipment in the gym. I've no complaints and will certainly be extending membership when it expires.

Positive experience: It was a classic leisure centre. If you are looking for someone to go with the kids on a rainy day in the holidays this is the place for you: a wave machine, a flume, a hot tub.... great fun If you're looking for a bit of lane swimming and a hot tub don't go here on a wet Wednesday during the school holidays!

Negative experience: Freezing swimming pool. Not suitable for babies. Spent over £20 for 2 adults and one "free" baby. Very expensive. 5 minutes later, baby unhappy with freezing water, £20 down the drain. Long story short will never return to this pool.

Positive experience: Not a lot going on here. Paracise is excellent with Maria but only one class per week.However the price has gone up and not affordable for many people now. There is no pool open and noone seems to know if it will ever reopen

Negative experience: This is becoming a farce i have written to my MP who is now looking into the truth regarding the pool, this is now a disgrace, is it the trust or ABC? how can a town like Tenterden not have a working swimming pool???

Negative experience: Why is the pool STILL closed, paid my swimming membership and they closed it again it's absolutely ridiculous, and they aren't saying when it might reopen.

Negative experience: Took my 2 children here at the weekend, changing rooms are very scruffy and not clean. This goes for the pool to, very cold! And dirty. Which is a shame because the lay out and set up of the pool is really ideal! But unfortunately being so cold my son couldn’t stay in the pool for to long, and has been very ill since visiting.

Negative experience: I tried Tenterden swimming pool today to see what it's like but was not happy with couple of things, 1, the changing rooms was cold and so was the swimming pool, my son was cold from start to Finnish and most of the water drops was not working at all, when we finished in the pool we went to the cafe for a hot drink and snacks but found that it was all empty of items and shut, which was a shame as we wonted something to warm us up after the cold swimming pool, experiencing, the price was little to expensive for 2 adults and 2 year old, if the pool 2as more warmer then we would havestayed longer and if the cafe was open for business

Negative experience: Not good looks scruffy and very run down no swimming pool open there's always problems with the roof and no coffee shop we would all meet up in a group use to love going swimming & keep fit classes and after we go to the coffee shop where Jenny worked she was always so helpful and kind and went that extra mile but there's no social community now shame it use to be a lovely meeting place to socialise and keep fit.

Negative experience: UPDATE - The centre did eventually cancel my membership. I do believe it was due to the faciloties in my contract not being available though. Very much advise AGAINST a 12 month membership. I am leaving the area (which was not expected when I joined the gym), to an area that would mean it is not realistic for me to travel to the Centre to use their facilities. However, when explaining that I am leaving the area and wish to cancel due to that fact, I am greeted with the news that I must pay a cancellation fee of £150, or see out the remaining months of my membership. It is absolutely disgusting to be expected to pay for something that you will have no use of, unless they bring the centre to where I'm moving! Many Gyms/Leisure centres and Health Clubs will be reasonable about situations like these, and as long as you're moving more than a certain distance away, for example my previous Club was 7 miles. This is clearly the right thing to do, as its obvious that attending the centre/gym in the future would not be possible and therefore are happy cancel your membership without any arguments - NOT THE CASE WITH TENTERDEN LEISURE CENTRE.

Positive experience: The pool itself was great fun - lots of activities for children and good for babies too. The downside is we queued for an hour to get in, the changing rooms were dirty and even though we rang ahead to ask the temperature (and got told it was 30 degrees and OK for babies) it felt cold when we got in.

Positive experience: Millions of pounds of work and the place still needs a clean. Broken sockets with tape over them and rusting nuts and bolts never a good look.

Negative experience: Good facilities, a bit old looking. Exercise lanes had families playing in them with children jumping in. I almost got landed on! The life guards did nothing about it and were just chatting amongst themselves.

Fantastic experience: Changing rooms, swimming pools and gyms are really clean! The flume suitable for younger children.

Fantastic experience: Very busy but dealing with it well

Negative experience: Arrived in the morning with the kids to go swimming and told by reception that there would be a 30min wait. No problem. They took my wifes name and we sat down. After about 20mins people who arrived after us were being called up, at one point 5 families that arrived after us were called up at the same time. When we went to reception to state we were not called we were informed quite bluntly that we already had been called and paid! With this obviously not being the case we eventually got in to the pool but was very disappointed to find the wave machine not working, the small pirate boat slide out of order and taped up and the mini-rapids with the crocodile not working either, yet we and other families would have paid full price! Really disappointing experience and very poor customer experience from all three ladies on reception.

Negative experience: Flume not working, nor wave machine or any other water features. Just a swimming pool. £9 for an adult with no discount to allow for the above. Terrible

Fantastic experience: Great for parents with younger kids. Frequent fetes and shows on the green.

Negative experience: Well that was shameful. So, after squeezing into their overpriced carpark near £5, my preschool son (4) and I paid just under £15 to get into the overcrowded,dirty and partially closed pool only to be kicked out after 50 minutes because our session was over. How can a leisure centre justify that kind of price? Do better. Won't be coming here again. Son will be told it was closed due to price gouging

Negative experience: Long term patron of the leisure centre who left due to a house move - Gym facilities are a little dated but acceptable, post covid prices have been raised and are high for the provided facilities. In house staff generally friendly and welcoming. On leaving I was advised by the Serco membership team that I didn’t owe any fee’s , and that my account was squared. I have recently received a Final notice letter threatening to take me to a 3rd party debt management company. Spoke to membership in house who were friendly but unable to support me. I’m unable to speak to Serco directly to query the charge and advice given and the only method of contact is an email address with a 2 week reply turn around. Completely unacceptable communications which felt almost threatening considering I was advised I didn’t owe anything! + unable to query and/or complain. I’ve paid the outstanding balance just to avoid the hassle but a terrible experience, due to customer services and membership policy I would never come back

Negative experience: Phoned up the other day to find out about swimming as I couldnt find the info I wanted on the website. Was told they were open between 10am and 3pm. Also asked about prices and was told 'they vary'. Today I went swimming with my 3 year old to find out it cost £14.10!!!!! I had drove from Hastings and had been to other pools around the area inc Eastbourne which only cost £5.90 and inc parking. The pool was ok but the price was shocking. If I had been told the price on the phone I wouldnt have gone.....

Positive experience: I take my youngest to swimming lessons here - they've gone to great lengths to make it safe for everyone and I feel confident going there. Shame some of the customers aren't wearing masks despite the many signs asking them to do so.

Fantastic experience: Nice pool with a slide and always seems to have music playing. If you're there at the right time there is also an inflatable obstacle course for the kids to battle with. Check the website for more info but we always end up driving the 10 miles here at least once a week when staying in Camber as the kids prefer the pool.

Fantastic experience: What a difference now there is new management. The pool and cafe are open and the place is back to normal. I especially like the music playlist in the gym ie Hendrix, The Stones The pretenders etc. Thank you.

Positive experience: A decent enough leisure centre with a good range of facilities. Children's swimming lessons are very good. Always a good atmosphere in the gym. Showers now work after an upgrade and being temporarily out of service.

Positive experience: It is a lovely place and great value for money staff could work on there attitude towards customers a little better specially in the cafe area also my adhd son was a little upset as he wanted a jacket potato but there was non available but there was still signs up to suggest there was some available maybe when you run out of things there should be a sign up to make others aware food was OK not the best for the price but was OK.
