Fantastic experience: Went for my COVID jab, the staff I met were friendly and helpful, the place itself looked quite nice.

Negative experience: I initially joined this gym without any issues, and the gym and pool were decent. However, my experience took a turn when I moved away and informed them I needed to cancel my membership, as there was no gym in my new location. Upon my return, I paid the joining fee and rejoined earlier this year, only to later receive an email stating I owed £90 and that my access would be suspended until the balance was cleared. What I find particularly frustrating is that they took my payment for the month and the joining fee before informing me about the outstanding balance. To me, this feels like poor practice and, frankly, a scam. It’s very disappointing, and I believe this situation should have been handled more transparently.

Positive experience: Good health suite but no jacuzzi

Fantastic experience: My son joined the ultimate membership. He loves all the lesson here, tennis and badminton. He loves the coaches and told me he learned a lot from them. To be honest, it’s quite busy here. Fortunately, there is always enough parking space.

Positive experience: Attended here for a physio appointment. Never realised it was so large.

Negative experience: Worst staff ! I was doing back strokes in the swimming pool, a guard in red t shirt comes to me and says "you are not allowed to cross the non swimmers line". He insisted that I din't know swimming while I was comfortably doing back strokes and floating on water on my back! I had to prove him by doing a normal swim and still he didn't allow me to go in deep water. I had to talk to his supervisor who allowed me to get in. Such a terrible staff !!!! Horrible experience.

Negative experience: Was in the gym and someone started setting a tripod and recording, rather than asking she stop, a member of staff helped her. A gym that doesn't respect people's privacy is one to avoid at all costs. Will not be back until people are treated with respect

Negative experience: Absolutely filthy. I have never er ever seen such a dirty sports centre. The female toilets and changing rooms are vile.

Negative experience: I was so disappointed to see that Jacqui is no longer working in cafe. The atmosphere is just not the same now when you go in. Jacqui was so cheerful and welcoming, with her happy smile. She always had a wee chat with you, and was so efficient at her job. I am sure there will be a large number of people who feel the same, and decide to go elsewhere. Its not a pleasure any longer to sit in cafe, and I think Wishaw sports centre will suffer if she is not reinstated.

Negative experience: Why has Jackie got to leave the cafe at Wishaw sport centre before she came it was not a pleasant place to sit and have a coffee or have a chat with your friends as the person behind the counter did everything she possibly could to get rid of you by scraping chairs glaring at you to make you feel uncomfortable, but when Jackie came that all changed she was always cheerful,and couldn’t do enough for her customers,and everyone felt welcomed ,but when she left it felt it was going back to how it was so I’m sorry to say you’ll lose a lot of customers including my self and my friends.

Positive experience: I done a carboot sale here, and it was great. Bit warm, no windows, and no air conditioning.

Negative experience: Bring back Jacqui! Ever since she has left the cafe things have went completely downhill recently. The past two weeks especially, no atmosphere, understaffed etc.

Negative experience: Worst sports centre! The staffs face are always tripping them.. specially the ones at the reception you ask them a question and they look at you as if you are an alien! the pool is always freezing and if not freezing it’s never opened, pay for a membership you can’t use the toilets are always covered in poo and never any toilet roll. Place needs renovated and new staff asap!

Positive experience: New look and equipment at fabulous. Some of the staff are friendly but not all. Facilities are excellent. I can honestly say I have never been in a better gym and I have been in a lot of gyms.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting. Took our 6 month old boy. Staff at reception very friendly! Pool and changing facilities very clean and comfortable to use. Main pool 29 degrees and kids pool was 31 degrees! We will be back! Thank you

Negative experience: Half past 8 on a saturday morning...instead of my usual pure gym, i joined my son at wishaw sports centre... A dark gym, with neon lights, and a dj at his dj desc prancing around. Well done North Lanarkshire council, what a horrible gym experience

Negative experience: Pool area and changing rooms are absolutely filthy, people walking about with outdoor shoes on through the pool area and nobody saying anything. The floors were disgusting. Gym equipment needs replaced, definitely not worth the membership price. Staff are friendly enough.

Fantastic experience: Love my classes at Wishaw- spin with Steven and Michelle are fab. Great buzz in the room, great tunes, great workout. Same with Stevens attack here too. Highly recommend. Desk staff always friendly and helpful

Negative experience: Terrible done one bellie flop and kicked out when teenagers are doing front flips and there to scared to send them out disgusted in 10 minutes as well wont be back

Positive experience: The aquafit class was excellent as always however the showers were cold and none of the hairdryers worked and there was a section of the changing rooms cordoned off which meant there were not enough changing rooms as it was a full class plus school holidays.

Positive experience: I play football regularly here but could be doing with improving the pitches a bit more. To be fair, the price is very reasonable but the pitches do have a fair bit of wear, not to mention the amount of rubbish or glass we've found on the pitches from time to time.

Negative experience: The fact that you only have certain times you can go in is a joke, and when you go down with your kids that's 3 and 4 your not aloud in the kids pool even with arm bands. Why pay for members when there is so much limits.

Fantastic experience: Gym has recently been renovated and it's now state of the art. It's tremendous. Sauna/steam room are is a little outdated and could do with some TLC but otherwise works well and does the job. Has cold and hot showers too. Pool is good and normally has public sessions available. Good location as right next to Wishaw Train Station. Football pitches are in poor condition and require to be relaid.

Fantastic experience: I train in the gym and the new gym is 1st class in my opinion. I was very disappointed in the state of the cafe. My partner sat in the cafe as I took my 2 granddaughters in for a swim. I was in the pool for an hour and a half with my granddaughter's and in that whole time not one table was cleaned after people left their table. After the swim I went in to the cafe for juice for my granddaughter's and we had to clean our own table before we sat down. I also observed another customer cleaning their table as they sat down. The floor had food under the tables when people left their table, and no attempt was made to clean the floor by any staff. People did clear their table when they left, but not one table was cleaned for new customers sitting down. Very poor indeed.

Fantastic experience: Great gym and great sports centre in general with some helpful staff

Negative experience: Swimming teachers are fantastic, however the place is disgusting .. no clean tables EVER in the coffee shop, everything is sticky & unhealthy food only. It’s a shame. Whoever is supposed to clean this place should be doing it properly.

Positive experience: Easy to find plenty parking spaces and cheap

Fantastic experience: Kids love swimming. The disabled lockers in the swimming aren't in use. But the family size ones are. We have just been using them. The hoist has been repaired and is a wheelchair that needs pushed but you can use it into the shower then onto the hoist mechanism lowered into the water then when leaving taken back out the water and disconnected to the hoist mechanism then into the showers and into the changing room. We use the family changing room. There is plenty space for my wheelchair and the poolside one. In the bottom family changing room there is a fold down changing bed for adult use. There is also a changing bed and shower in the disabled toilets in the swimming area. I'm not sure on the suitability of the gym for my wheelchair as I've not used the gym in here.

Negative experience: Horrendous customer service as always, asking myself to pay for an induction when being a member before. £12 for a session what kind of gym do they think they are running. Thank God there are more options in Wishaw these days

Fantastic experience: Wishy sports centre has everything. Indoor football, badminton, tennis, table tennis, basketball and flying...OK so I made the last one up! Shoot me! The centre is modern and clean and everything is signposted for your ease. The centre has a swimming pool and a state-of-the-art gym. The centre also holds a smorgasbord of fitness classes held in the various suites. There are excellent changing and shower facilities as well as an in-house cafe. The staff are brilliant and helpful and you'll have the best experience in fitness that Wishy has to offer.

Negative experience: Hired a badminton court for martial arts seminar, only to be drowned out by very loud music from a children's party. Could not hear a word the instructor was saying. Thought a sports centre was for sports.

Positive experience: Nice building, but for a long number of hours sitting on a wooden bench for the audience of a dance competition so not on. Uncomfortable does not do it justice. Would have thought an establishment of this size could have provided something a little more comfortable.

Negative experience: We go here every week but I was totally disguted today, sat my bag on the changing room seat and when I picked it up it was covered in poo,the changing rooms obviously aren't being cleaned as vigorously as they were in the height of covid

Fantastic experience: Just joined the centre, but over the last 3weeks, swimming first thing in the morning, is definitely the right way to get going , all this and loads more to enjoy, and if you are over 60 , at a fantastic price.

Positive experience: Far too many people in the baby pool which half of it was roped off for swimming lessons, was even asked to take my toddler into the big (cold) pool! Way too cold for him in there. No tokens for the lockers so had to leave our belongings in an open locker!

Negative experience: Was snowing one day so left my jacket (that I got with money from my mum before she passed away) on a chair in the changing room to dry off. Came out the gym and it was gone. Asked reception staff and manager to check CCTV in the corridors as it's a very distinctive jacket. Got told couldn't check it till some guy was in 3 days later. Phoned 3 days later got told oh we checked the cameras and couldnt see it. Mentioned this to the staff when I was in that night , got told oh the 1 guy that is allowed to check the cameras is on holiday. So in other words the cameras didn't get checked. I go to pure gym now , 24 hours a day and less than half the price.

Fantastic experience: Attended Swimming pool with Grandson for his swimming lesson. He had great time and I watched from gallery socially distanced from other parents/family. Pool was busy with lessons and other people using the pool for pleasure and exercise. Staff friendly and helpful, with the centre kept clean as usual.

Fantastic experience: Thoroughly enjoying the Krav Maga Self Defence classes at Wishaw Sports Centre on a Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday night. There's kids classes too.
