Fantastic experience: First time here and only came for a Boxing class for the kids. Was easy to find, plenty of parking, prices in cafe reasonable, clean/tidy and staff were very friendly.l which makes everything better.

Positive experience: Joined in November when I was referred by my physio to exercise my knee post ACL reconstruction. Gym equipment is very good & the pool is good. It’s the showers that let the place down!! They’re REALLY awful. They spray outwards & not straight down because they are so scaled up due to not being cleaned regularly!! Either the heads nee changing or they need new heads! Absolutely awful!!! When I used the gym changing room & tried to use the showers there, not only did the shower spray everywhere but me, but it had a slimey surface on the floor near the taps - very dangerous as very slippery. It doesn’t take much for these issues to get sorted especially when we pay this monthly fee!!! Hope you get these issues sorted! K xx

Positive experience: The gym is very small, but has sufficient weights and machines in quieter times. At busier times I often had to change my workout plan as the weights/machines I planned to use were taken. The showers are a total disgrace, after seeing them I never used them. The showers and changing rooms next to the pool are only unisex ones, no separate male/female changing rooms. The swimming pool is only available at very limited times. Overall quite a Spartan experience. Therefore, I have rather returned to a further, but bigger and better equipped gym (priced the same).

Positive experience: I come here for swimming but the only downside is the changing rooms, they're very old fashioned and not the cleanest, the showers are no good either, have to keep pressing the on button or hold it down and wash your hair with one hand. The pool is lovely though, staff all seem nice.

Positive experience: Gym itself is well equipped and clean. However, as others have said, the mens changing rooms and showers are in awful condition. Pool is fine but often closed for private use which can be frustrating.

Positive experience: Good sized pool and gym, good range of equipment and kept in working order. Friendly staff. Only gripe is showers in the women's changing room. Why is the shower head 8ft high? This leads to the water being sprayed all over the shower cubicle walls rather than on the person trying to have a shower.

Negative experience: Gym is ok not a bad choice of weights and machines but the thing that is annoying is the fact you have all the kids from de stafford school taking up all the weights and machines some mess about they don't even know how to use the machines and yet you got a member of staff on the gym floor who just let's this happen thi speeds to be looked at is not fair

Positive experience: Front of house staff are pleasant and helpful. Gym facilities are very good and popular. HOWEVER, the showers are in dire need of improvement/replacement and are frequently cold. Additionally very disappointing, is the standard of care over cleanliness in the men's changing room, which leaves a great deal to be desired! Recently, the supposed cleaning of the men's changing room left the floor covered in a film of brown, dirty water from a wet mop that had clearly just been pushed around with little concern for actually washing the dirt away. Recent significantly reduced staffing numbers clearly means remaining staff are under a great deal of pressure but this disappointing issue is just not good enough and discourages one from using the showers at all.

Negative experience: Other gyms are cheaper, bigger and better. Get with the times.

Negative experience: Started going to a gym class only to find the instructor is being made redundant, despite the class being funded by the NHS. I very much doubt the staff remaining will be able to deliver an adequate level of service and safety.

Negative experience: Great gym facilities but membership is expensive now compared to other clubs outside of caterham. The changing rooms and toilets are grim and the pool and changing areas in need of a revamp... major gripe is the gym is turning into a kids club from 5/5.30 in the evenings, groups of kids often hover around machines hogging them and I don't think staff ever tell them not to do this!

Fantastic experience: Been a member here since 2014. If you want supportive personal trainers and decent facilities then this is a great choice. I couldn’t ask for a better experience. Would thoroughly recommend. Reception staff are also always lovely and organised.

Positive experience: Prices going up all the time since it was taken over. Pool was closed when I went there due to something being broken.

Positive experience: I only use the pool there, which is old but well maintained. Changing rooms are cleaned regularly. Nothing to complain about!

Negative experience: Was referred by my doctor was told only one person could deal with me and he only came in on Thursdays I rang and left numerous messages once with one female receptionist who was very rude. This guy never called me back and I've had to wait for over a month to even start. He left one message in late November saying he couldn't fit me in till at least January and that's the last I've heard either none of my messages have been passed on by the various staff I have left them with or the gent in question is very unprofessional. I wanted to start as soon as possible but that seems to be a problem although I've used gyms all my life he has to be the one that gives me permission. I wouldn't ask to use this gym usually but due to bad health and finance's it's my only option it's too small,too crowded either with bratty kids or most of Caterham,it's far too expensive if you don't swim or even if you do it's pricey, the changing rooms and toilets are falling apart the opening hours are limited especially on weekends. They are very disorganised even when you call during the weekdays between 12 and 5pm you are lucky if someone answers the phone usually it goes to answerphone and if you are lucky someone will call you back in a few hours or a few days later. Terrible.

Its cheap to do the lane swimming ,if not busy at times with slow plodder s in the way only 25 metre. Staff all seem bit distant. I guess that youth of today . Parking not a problem few snacks machines available

Positive experience: Don't know can't get in to the classes of my choice. Members are permitted to book classes a week in advance. Tried soon after midnight and my chosen class was fully booked.

Negative experience: Good pool but my god it was impossible to get through to reception to book a swim. They must actively ignore the phones in there. Really really annoying.

Fantastic experience: Ample parking, friendly reception staff, reasonable monthly payments and have a swimming pool, selection of free weights and cardio machines. The classes seem very popular judging by the attendance gym staff knowledgeable. Only issue is lack of stretch area although can use an empty studio. Not super busy evenings and mornings

Positive experience: It’s a good gym however it needs more free weight equipment/ benches. Also someone should be in the gym ensuring people are cleaning after using weights/ equipment as I have seen on numerous occasions people not doing so which is worrying especially during this pandemic.

Positive experience: It's a good gym but gets overcrowded at times especially when they bring 12-15 school pupils in the gym who just sit and round and take up the equipment. The car parking can get a bit silly where the usual culprits in there extra large 4x4 feel the need not park in the paces provided but to mount the curb as close as possible to the entrance. Rant over Overall a good gym with really pleasant staff :)

Negative experience: Very very overpriced gym membership for what you get. Where previously elsewhere I received a personal training programme, free swimming, regular meeting with trainer to track progress and adjust where necessary, for a lot more I don’t get anywhere near that kind of level of service for quite a considerable amount more per month. It’s like a budget gym but up to 3 times as expensive. Since the refurbishment it’s better, and there is some decent equipment in there, but this is already showing signs of malfunctioning where 2 pieces of equipment were broken the last time I was there. They’ve refurbished everything except the changing rooms, which are dirty, have damage to the walls, and the toilets keep leaking on to the floor. Taps are loose and wobbly, and they’re genuinely really unpleasant to use. It is also one of the most cliquey gyms I’ve ever set foot in, where if you’re not ‘in’ with the trainers they will outright ignore you. I would like to use the free weights, but they are always taken up by muscle bros, who aren’t the friendliest bunch to a newcomer, or someone who looks like they don’t belong there it has to be said. Unfortunately I am only a member of this gym out of pure necessity and convenience, and will be moving on as soon as I get an opportunity to do so. I can’t recommend this place.

Negative experience: I am a regular user of the swimming pool and have, along with others, had meetings with the manager to address several concerns regarding hygiene and the pool, but little has been done to rectify our concerns. 1. Very few people have a shower before entering the pool, even though there are signs asking for swimmers to shower. Every swim you get a very strong smell of deodorant or perfume, so strong it's almost suffocating. There are also long strands of hair in the water. 2. The water temperature can only be described as hot. At least 2 or 3 degrees hotter than any other pool I have used. To be fair some other issues to do with cleanliness around the changing rooms have been addressed. If it weren't for it being so convenient and there being no other local pools I would cancel my membership and go elsewhere.

Positive experience: The gym has very good fitness classes but really is in need of a facelift, especially in the gym and changing areas. I would suggest putting in some good spotlights in the ceilings in those areas at the very minimum and making everywhere look a bit more cheerful and less dreary looking.
