Fantastic experience: A lovely place to stay situated in beautiful country, spacious bedrooms with extensive fittings and a property supplied with a wide range of facilities. One can be kept very busy with an informative range of talks, discussions, and one to one sessions with very well qualified leaders. All of the staff were enthusiastic about their subjects and emanated a wonderful spirit of enjoyment. I left a healthier person with determination to maintain this adjusted way of life

Fantastic experience: The Metabolic Health Retreat was a perfect balance of information, inspiration and pampering. The food was amazing, and plentiful. The service was six star, nothing was too much for anyone. It seemed that everyone went out of their way to answer questions, to accommodate our requests, and to always find a way. I am looking forward to the ongoing support by the amazing team.

Negative experience: I believe the owner of this place wants long term members to quit their memberships. From the appalling customer service, non flexible rules, fees and fines for not signing when attending classes, the whole experience here is negative. The admin and service team needs an overhaul, new staff that actually care. This is not a wellbeing place, it’s a quick fix money maker with bad service. It’s the Ryan air of expensive wellbeing centres.

I appreciate that you have taken the time to write a Google Review. Whilst your observations don’t match the many positive comments from our amazing members, I acknowledge that we can’t please everyone. Like any business, poor behaviour or hostile threats of any kind are not tolerated. With reference to fees and fines I can only draw your attention to the use of these are usual for all sites and businesses such as ours. On a positive note, Combe Grove is uniquely positioned to offer so much more, and I would like to invite you to make an appointment with our new Metabolic Membership team who would be delighted to help you. Perhaps you would be kind enough to make an appointment with me so that I can listen to your concerns personally. Amanda Randell Cox

Negative experience: Should be amazing but isn’t. Lack of sufficient maintenance of the core facilities and focus on residential metabolic health retreats to the detriment of long term members mean Combe Grove falls far short of what it could and should be. The location is stunning and deserves a much better run club than is currently offered.

Combe Grove - Health and Wellbeing Centre

We appreciate you taking the time to write your thoughts here on Google. I would welcome the opportunity to talk to you in person so that we could learn from each other. If I may be bold, I would like to refute the focus on the residential retreats to the detriment of the Members, as we are working hard to bring all Memberships together to form a mutual symbiosis, providing expertise in Metabolic Health to everyone. We understand that change is difficult, but if I could ask your patience while we continue to improve the infrastructure of an old building that has been abandoned by many previous owners, I am sure you will see the ameliorations over time that our beautiful site, as you so rightly say, so justly deserves. Negative experience: Unacceptable Customer Service, Charges and Poor Client Care at This Well-being Center As a long-time club member of this well-being centre, I'm disappointed to say that in recent months with the new ownership, their approach to client care and customer service is far from their advertised values. It’s clear that prioritising clients’ well-being is low on their list, as inconsiderate policies, non existent customer services and a lack of communication have made this experience increasingly frustrating. Recently, they introduced a £10 charge for not attending a class, which would be understandable if handled with flexibility and clarity. However, they enforce this policy in a rigid, black-and-white manner, leaving no room for misunderstandings or humanness. I was recently charged unfairly for the 2nd time. This time, I went to sign in after class and the option was gone! Dispite the club manager witnessing the whole thing, I was charged! I was told I should have "remembered to sign in before class"—yet I was never informed of this requirement in the first place. In the three years I’d been a club member, I had signed in after class before without any issues, so this sudden shift in rules feels unfair and poorly communicated. Changing rules without updating members is simply bad business practice, and it’s unreasonable to penalise people for not knowing about changes they were never informed of. The entire experience has become needlessly stressful. I joined this centre to support my well-being, but instead, the constant inconsiderate rules and uncaring attitude toward clients are having the opposite effect. And it’s not just myself that thinks this way. The majority of other members I have spoken to have become increasily frustrated too. I was charged 3 times back in May when they first brought this system in. They hadn’t communicated this effectively and I shouldn’t have been charged. However as I was in the right, I waited 4 month for a resolution. Despite constantly emailing them and chasing up my refund I had to resort to cancelling my DD to eventually set it right. They are great at taking your money, but do not care to give it back where it has been taken unlawfully. Now, again, I’m left with no option but to stop my direct debit to prevent this company further steeling from me. This place has lost its essence as a well-being center. It feels more like a money-making machine than a place that truly cares for its clients. If you value transparency, genuine client care, and an environment that actually supports your well-being, I’d advise looking elsewhere. On top of all this. The showers are cold, they have constant problems they email us about almost weekly. And we hear that the owner is not interested in what we have to say.

Dear Claire M, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're genuinely sorry to hear that you feel disappointed in our changes to enhance the Members experience, however we appreciate you voicing your concerns and I would like a personal meeting to discuss your perspective. It’s important to us that every member feels supported and respected, and we strive to communicate our policies as clearly as possible to create a positive environment for all. We understand your frustration with the late cancellation fee, this charge was introduced thoughtfully, intending to provide all members with a fair chance to attend our popular classes by minimising last minute absences. However, we understand that there can still be some challenges, especially if communications are ignored or missed, and we're always here to clarify any concerns as they arise to help you adjust to the new system, which was voted in by the members themselves. In instances where members have encountered difficulties, such as forgetting to sign in, we aim to balance flexibility with the consistency needed to fairly uphold policies. The system has been in place since May and multiple goodwill gestures must at some stage come to an end and we must insist that any poor behaviour towards our amazing team of Apprentices is not acceptable. 2024 has seen some wonderful ameliorations to Combe Grove with a substantial amount spent in updating the old infrastructure in the Coach House and pools alone, and the new unique Metabolic Memberships, bringing the UK’s first centre for Metabolic Health together, where local members can benefit from the experience of the extraordinary medical team. Members at Combe Grove have access to a wealth of experienced medical professionals, over 14 therapists, 70 classes, 2 pools and Gym and much more, with daily nutritious meals and healthy drinks available in the Map Room we are working hard towards a future full of vitality and wellbeing for all. Warm wishes, Amanda Randell Cox

Negative experience: No denying the views and location are stunning but as a long term member at the club, it definitely needs renovating as the facilities are looking very tired and often out of order: For example, the spinner, steam room, lockers out of order at various times. The showers are now set to tepid and no longer warm enough to use - I have to shower at home! As the fees have been increased, this is not good! Likewise the pool is normally very cold, not what you expect for a high end priced spa. The members have been complaining about this for a long time, but sadly the owner is not interested. The staff on the front desk are vey friendly but it is out of their control.

Fantastic experience: Blown away by the knowledge, empowerment, time and space shared by this idyllic retreat. This programme is packed, and seriously backed up by evidence and the infectious enthusiasm of some extraordinary professionals. There is something new to try for everyone. I don’t hesitate to give Combe Grove 5* and am supporting its even bigger ambitions in the future. A truly unique and inspiring experience - thank you!

Fantastic experience: I recently joined and I have been so welcomed by all the staff with particular thanks to Katy who gave me an incredible induction and showed me how to use the gym and created several programs to focus on upper lower and hiit routines. They were all tailored to the areas of growth she gathered from me from lots of questions about what was important to me. Katy also gently corrected by form (posture) that I had gained from previous gym experience and had lots of knowledge on how to get the most from the equipment. I’ve only met a few of the staff but they are so friendly in particular J who showed me around and knew so much already even though he’d only recently started and Jaishen who was so helpful answering my many questions during the sign up process. The grounds are stunning with so much to explore including an adult swing in the grounds. The classes are so fun… lovely tutors and welcoming members and so much variety..: this week I’ve had Disco Fusion, Yoga, QiGong and Zumba… so varied it’s great … no need to get bored keeping fit! Finally the pools and tennis courts with indoor and outdoor options look amazing and I’m particularly looking forward to the outdoor pool (just wish it were cold as I love a cold dip) but still the views from it are incredible all over the valley. Finally the cafe serves the most gorgeous coffee by another friendly member of staff who seems to know most regulars names so it’s got a lovely vibe in there. The terrace is going to be my journalling ‘go to’ spot this summer after a fab morning at Combe Grove. So grateful I joined

Fantastic experience: I attended the menopause retreat and found it truly transformative. The expertise, care and attention from all the team members at Combe Grove was astounding. You are given science-based, accessible knowledge into metabolic health, and helped to personalise how you can make the most impact to your life through the five 'roots' of nutrition, movement, mindset, environment and sleep. The rooms are gorgeous and the grounds stunning. I can't recommend it enough.

Fantastic experience: Combe Grove is a magical place. The metabolic health retreat I attended recently felt potentially life-changing. The staff, nutritionists, practitioners and fitness team were all first class and incredibly friendly. The food was fresh, healthy and delicious, and the grounds (70+ acres) were beautiful with breathtaking views. I can’t recommend their retreats enough. Thank you CG Team!

Fantastic experience: Since my experience on the Menopause Retreat at Combe Grove, my life has changed dramatically. The programme provided the structure to enable me to completely rebalance my life. I have always naturally eaten breakfast late so the time restricted eating became a natural modification. However, understanding how my body responds to food has been a huge motivator for an instant adaption to the metabolic diet. By focusing on the nutrients and protein content rather than calories, meals are now colourful, energising and simple to make. Now I'm feeling physically healthy through diet and exercise I am able to focus on sleep and relaxation. I was unable to take HRT and finding help has been difficult. However this retreat has given me the information to enable me to naturally take control of my symptoms and my life. I would recommend it for any women who want to feel empowered, healthy and strong.

Fantastic experience: I've attended Combe Grove for a few years now and worked with your PT Ed Trotman for the last 8 weeks - his PT programme has quite literally changed my life. When I started working with him I struggled to even walk from a back injury, and his patient, motivating plan has got me to a place where I hardly feel my back pain. Thank you so much Ed for all your help to date!

Fantastic experience: Came to take in the stunning south facing views, over the valley in a quiet private estate like setting. We had a lovely meal over lunch and enjoy the views from the rooms in the manor house. We could’ve spent many hours there just lounging and relaxing. We would return again, as it was a surprise highlight of our travels from Bath to the Cotswolds

Negative experience: The cruelest staff. I would never support this establishment, they don't have any humanity. My mom came to visit me in London from Canada, it would be her last trip, with stage 4 cancer. She had a flare up when she came to visit. Each day was touch and go on what she could manage. I had booked this hotel in Bath for us, and she was trying to rally so much every day, one day was manageable ...well perhaps a 2 hour energy spurt where she would be her lively self and make us laugh, then the next terror. Anyway, the cancellation had just switched to fully refundable to non refundable at midnight, I called at 7am and said we couldn't make it and was it possible to switch to another day (so my partner and I could use the booking without loosing the full ££ booking amount). I explained the situation, and they didn't care. They just said no and took my money. There wasn't even any sympathy for what I was dealing with. Admittedly I was 7 hours late to get my money back but my mom would feel devastated if I cancelled so she was trying so hard to rest up. I didn't ask for my money back just a new date I left it at that, as those were some of the most stressful and devastating days of my life. She had no doctors here, no help, her oncologists couldn't do anything from Canada, they said to take her to A&E but then I was fearful they would say not fit to fly and I was in terror she wouldn't be able to make it back to Canada on her commercial flight. Contrast Combe Grove to another service establishment: We did end up spontaneously at Sotto Sotto in Bath for dinner....miraculously they had an open spot (was hard to make any advance bookings) anyway that was one of the most wonderful dinners I ever had with my mom. The staff were so so warm and kind. I remembered how nice their service was so during covid when the hospitality sector was hit hard I sent over an amazon gift card to the server we had that night as an extra thank you.

Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN THIS CLUB. They don’t care about their full time members and mis-sell the facilities when you do join. They are now more interested in running their retreats where they then close off facilities to full paying members for weeks at a time. The swimming pool has been closed multiple times over the summer with barely any notice and no compensation, with them hiring out the pool to non-members. The week long retreats that they are now running are taking place in communal spaces which will be closed off to members for full weeks at a time, as well as the oak room yoga room. It’s impossible to get out of contract before the 12 months are up even though the facilities are reduced and not what I signed up for. Facilities are broken in some places and taking months to repair and still not fixed from before the summer. Go somewhere else they do not care about their full paying members at all.

Alex Waldron 3 years ago

Negative experience: Place is a complete mess. Got a skin infection from poor pool maintenance. Stopped my membership and they charged me an extra month and thought because it's in the fine print of the contract it's ethical and reasonable to charge an extra £82.50, even though your membership has ended.

Fantastic experience: Visited on a great sunny day. Staff very helpful and the outdoor pool was glorious. Inside pool great and Aqua beds good. If I lived nearer I would become a member.

Negative experience: Some of the gym reception team could possibly benefit from a little customer service training. We all appreciate that maners are vital, but, "what is the magic word" doesn't seem an appropriate thing to say to any visting guest, despite personal views on maners. Sad to be welcomed like this because the gym is in good shape - newly renovated.

Positive experience: Combe grove, what a experience! First of all let me tell you the views were amazing and the food, wow! I could eat so many of their pizzas. Yum. There was a oopsie in the outside pool :/. Luckily I spotted early and managed to get the manager quickly to scoop it out. Wasnt clear if it was human. We were the told 9114 was the password to the gate but it turned out the actaul password was 3777. Anyways had a really good trip, might come again might not, it was on the pricey end I will say that!. If you have a female women who to bring on date then this could be good? Just dont take her to the pool.

Fantastic experience: The hotel is wonderful. the rooms are clean and well-sanitized, very comfortable. The view is incredible . Both the indoor and outdoor pools are great, warm and well-maintained. I tried two massage treatments at their spa and it was quite pleasant too. The only thing I didn't like was the food. Both breakfast and dinner menus offered limited choices, and the portions were small.

Positive experience: Nice enough and definitely good value, rooms pool etc all good, breakfast excellent. Just a bit rough around the edges in places but I get the impression it's improving all the time. The no smoking policy is a bit extreme. Only 1 place to smoke outside which is a 5 minute walk to the perimeter. One should surely be allowed to smoke provided you're far enough away from non-smokers. And there's plenty of space for that. Beautiful setting.

Positive experience: Had a lovely stay at Combe Grove. Such a beautiful property with plenty do to. We had very poor service when booking before we arrived with delayed responses to emails and it being hard to phone them and someone answer the phone (despite it saying on their website to book direct via phone or email). Thankfully when we arrived we had much better service. Was disappointing that the restaurant was booked out weeks before hand for breakfast and dinner especially when there's no fridge or microwave in rooms so you have to go into town if you want to eat. It's a shame the restaurant isn't given priority to guests. We stayed in a balcony room in the lodge and it was lovely. Overall a good stay and we would stay again.

Julia Carling 5 years ago

Positive experience: Disappointing afternoon tea for five people (3 adults, a 4yr old and a 1yr old). We booked the table on the day, to our surprise they had availability on the last day of the eat out offer so we only paid £25 instead of £50. So we didn't have high, but realistic expectations. We arrived at the restaurant and wore masks as required in communal areas. Once seated we removed our masks. Most staff worse clear face protection which seemed adequate. One member of staff who brought the food didn't wear a face mask and got closer (whilst taking to us) than we are allowed to with our own family members from another household. This made us feel a little uncomfortable (from a covid point of view), but we thought the rate in Bath is low so nothing to complain to them about. We were asked what drinks we wanted, I asked for a drinks menu and was told only tea and coffee were included in the afternoon tea, which was fine but I was willing to pay for an appetiser or something. Thankfully they had decaf tea and after we reminded them that we had ordered three, not two teas we all enjoyed a cuppa whilst waiting for the food. There were three fingers of (cold and slightly stale from being in the fridge) sandwiches per person. They were tasty but a little hard and definitely not enough. Especially for a baby who drops food (unavailable but we did our best to catch it and of course tidied it before we left) and one person who didn't eat ham (no mention of vegetarian or alternatives as food all prepared in advance). Also chives sprinkled over the top so all sandwiches tasted like they had onion in them. The worst part was when we asked if we could have more sandwiches (which we would have been willing to pay for)... Five minutes later we were told no, as they had prepared everything in advance and had other reservations, so they couldn't give us more. We were there for over an hour and very few people were seated, so I'm not sure this was true. The scones were very soft and tasty, there was one with a few raisins and three plain. However there was no butter or cream/clotted cream!!! Which is awful for an afternoon tea, it removes any thought of a luxury and unexpected for a hotel restaurant! The rest of the cakes were nothing special, the carrot cake was moist, the chocolate cake basic and madeira cake (possible lemon?!) was tasty, but they were the same cakes we saw on the counter by the bar, just much much smaller pieces. More like a sampling plate for a very basic /budget wedding meal. No one came to ask if everything was ok/how was our food/ did we need anything and we found it difficult to get the staff attention to pay the bill. I understand it must be difficult for the staff with the virus safety measures but we didn't feel welcome and weren't greated with a smile (behind the transparent face cover). The grounds were nice, although the water fountain was lacking water and needed a clean, but maybe that's a sign they are struggling with 2020 like many other hotels. We aren't in a hurry to return, which is a shame as we are local.

Positive experience: This is a lovely hotel and we had a gorgeous room in the main house overlooking the valley below. We stayed for four nights on a fully inclusive rate. The bed was comfortable and the food exceptional. Also, really incredible WiFi. Due to Covid, there was no daily room cleaning, and that was fine. But there is something missing. The bar isn't quite right and is really set up for coffee in the day rather than an inviting space to spend the evening when resident. The hotel also relies heavily on apprentices. Obviously, that's great, but not so great when effectively they aren't supported and all I really can see is the hotel trying to save money. Service was inconsistent with the staff not having the confidence or knowledge to deal with customer queries and complaints. It always took forever to get served and when food arrived it was dumped and the server would run away. There was no follow up or checking if we had everything we need, etc. I really wanted to love this hotel, but they need to sort out these issues.

Charlotte Alexander 5 years ago

Positive experience: Very relaxing. Laid back service-polite but no room cleaning which was a bit of a corona excuse-but it suited us. We were left entirely to our own devices. Very luxurious wool carpet in our garden terrace room, wet room and private sun terrace all added a bit of luxury. Set high on a hill with panoramic views across the Midford valley yet a short walk into central Bath, I think the hotel setting would be hard to better. Add to that an outdoor and indoor pool with sensible corona booking system, a sweeping regency terrace scattered with sun loungers and tables and chairs, the sound of tea cups on saucers for afternoon tea or the odd popping of a champagne cork, I felt that I had gone back in time, in a completely transporting way.

Sharon Trevarthen 5 years ago

Positive experience: This is undoubtedly a beautiful hotel in a great location within stunning countryside. Just a stone's throw from Bath but it exudes tranquility. The facilities are great with a gym, spa, tennis courts and indoor and outdoor pools. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable and, during this current pandemic, every effort is made to ensure they are clean and risk free. However, without air con rooms have a tendency to be hot and airless. But this potentially amazing hotel just suffers from inconsistencies. One meal was good, the next awful, we heard staff being rude about guests and the afternoon tea was certainly not as advertised. It feels as if something is missing and I hope they find whatever it is.

Negative experience: Booked a weekend stay here in July on the weekend we were supposed to be getting married (cancelled due to Covid). The hotel then cancelled our booking 1 day before we were due to check in via EMAIL leaving us rushing to find another hotel. Hello Simon, we are very sorry to hear that your experience of Combe Grove was not more enjoyable. We have plans to develop the wellness facilities to improve the experience for our guests and members and we apologise that you found the changing rooms and gym not up to standard. This is very unusual. We assure you that our rigorous cleaning was stepped up during our pre-hibernation period and that we take the health and wellbeing of our team and visitors extremely seriously. We do hope that we can welcome you back in the future. with our best wishes, Combe Grove

Fantastic experience: Canned here for a day conference. Lovely place.

Positive experience: Lovely few days away in such a relaxing location, only thing that could be better was that our king bed was 2 singles combined leaving a big ridge down the middle.

Positive experience: From the outset the grounds and main building are beautiful, followed by a really lovely older lady on check in which to be fair was the highlight of our stay, she was simply wonderful. From there it was less pleasing, but I can't be too critical as all in all it was fine. The breakfast was ok, although it lacked a few items I'd have enjoyed as the cooked breakfast was served in Bain Marie's as opposed to cooked to order. You have to pay extra for a flat white (which ok I agree with had it been any other time of the day, but it should come as part of breakfast at no extra cost). The breakfast area is in the bar and in the bistro all of which have windows overlooking the lovely scenery, but none of the tables were placed in the windows and it was lined up like a school dinner hall, we of course done some DIY and moved our table in to the window (as you can see in the photos) to the delight of some staff but to the dismay of others (one staff member in particular but it's not worth going there, as unlike the others she seemed as though she was there for the money and to get home as quickly as possible) The rooms too are basic and lacked essentials such as a fridge, bottle opener, fresh milk etc. Little attention is paid to the cleanliness as we found the room to have cup ring residue on the surfaces and quite dusty. views were a "woodland" view which I don't really have an opinion on but would have preferred more of the rolling hills view. It was comfortable don't get me wrong and I guess you get what you pay for (and what's available). The worst part of this is the leisure facilities in particular the pool and changing rooms (popped my head in the gym which looked good and had some good equipment) but the pool area was very dirty and NOTHING worked. This area needs serious attention as it really let's the rest of the place down. I spoke to someone who was a member and I asked is it always like this and he said yes, and they are going to leave as it's been like that for months, despite multiple requests from members to fix the place up and get everything in working order.I would have put 4 stars had the full experience have been there but by no means is it a 4 star hotel. The staff were all pleasant and helpful so I guess theres not really any room for improvement there. So all in all I've had to give this 3 stars. I would of course come back if the facilities were to be improved.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful! We got a complimentary upgrade and were accommodated even with a vegan chocolate cake. Super nice and friendly staff, the room and the view were incredible, comfy massive bed! Will hopefully come back :)

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with our 2 night stay here. Set in the countryside, and if you like walking then a very pleasant long walk into Bath city centre. The room we stayed in which was balcony with views was clean and very pleasant. Breakfast was very good as well with all the normal breakfast items you would expect. Will definitely go back.

Positive experience: Nice big room with (huge) comfy bed and lots of soft towels. Good breakfast. We had to wait quite a long time for dinner and while one of the waitresses was very apologetic for the delay, another was rather abrasive and abrupt. It would be nice if you had a bit more choice of menu or could have a larger starter as a main course. The Indoor pool was lovely and warm. A shame the connecting door from pool to accommodation is locked and you have to trek outside to access it. Decor in main hotel beautiful but I think signage could be better and there was a skip outside in full view which detracts from the overall splendour of the hotel. Nice setting outside Bath, but you really need a car to get around

Positive experience: Location was lovely, main hotel was outstanding but our room, a forest Room, was terrible. We overlooked......no not the forest, the pool pump Room, other out buildings and to top it off the window that we had was half blocked by a wooden panel.

Positive experience: Great stop over but we picked a hot day and air conditioning isn't available in our upgraded room. Catering was good, wine list a bit limited for my tastes

Negative experience: A massive disappointment. Have had better breakfasts in £70 a night budget hotels. Very little choice, some more fruit would have been welcomed. Didn't even bother with the cooked breakfast buffet as it looked so unappetising. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because when checking out our complaint about noise throughout the small hours of the night was dealt with satisfactorily.

Negative experience: As a frequent stayer in hotels what really bothers me is great buildings let down by pretentious staff who lack the “extra mile” attitude. Have stayed here with work a few times and have let a few things go in the past like one visit I was allowed to order room service then the next- “we don’t do that sorry” or the fact you have to go hunting for reception staff to check you out in the morning. This time 3 strikes in one visit means I have to leave a review I’m afraid. On checking in I specifically asked if breakfast was included and was told NO and I needed to pay for it. As I didn’t know if I was going to have it if that was the case then I declined to pay which wasn’t taken too well and was told that they would need my card details anyway to cover “extras” I said I don’t want any extras. Then my room had no tv remote- minor I know but I was told I should have come down and told reception- NO your the hotel you should make sure your rooms are equipped that is your job not mine. Checking out- asked for a invoice told no despite having it done before numerous times. I was told we don’t do that? But you have! Then I asked by the way was breakfast included? Yes it was.... right so why did you ask me to pay for it again last night? Didn’t have an answer and just walked away. Won’t be back and will advise work not to use them again. Need to find another hotel to stay in for my weekly visits!

Hello Andrew, Thank you for your important feedback. The Elmhurst Foundation are in the process of developing Combe Grove as part of a five year plan, having taken over guardianship of the estate in 2017. We have major refurbishment plans in progress, both for the main Manor House and neighbouring Coach House which houses our gym. Part of the vision of our charitable trust is transform Combe Grove into a centre for work-based learning excellence. As such many of the areas at Combe Grove are fronted by apprentices, under the guidance of full time team members. Several of our internal systems have also seen a period of change which I hope goes some way to explaining some of your experience. Please rest assured that your comments have been noted and shared with the team. We look forward to welcoming you back at some point in the future. Wam regards Combe Grove

Fantastic experience: Staff were so friendly and attentive and really made us feel so welcome! Facilities here were great too, we went to a relaxing mindfulness class and the leisure building was amazing. Our room had the perfect view and the dinner was incredible. Cannot fault anything about this place. Will definitely be coming back here again!

Fantastic experience: A beautiful manor house perched on a hilltop just outside of Bath, with incredible views. Service is excellent and the food at dinner in the orangery was very good. There is a real focus on wellness and it is nice to see so many people also keeping active during their stay. Dogs are welcome here too.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. It needs updating. Rooms r a nice size but get very hot. Breakfast has a very limited choice and staff need to wear a uniform so u know who they r. Reported a problem but it never got fixed. Had a dirty towel and lipstick on the cups in room. Got a balcony but it needs a good clean, paint and get rid of the weeds. It has lovely grounds and views. To get to the Swimming pool u must walk outside the building along the road and upstairs, when there's a door connecting your hall which u can't use 3 miles from city centre and a good 15 minute walk to get a bus (if u can). It could be a really nice place but a long way from that at moment

Negative experience: We arrived at 6pm on a recent Sunday tired and hungry to be informed that there was no meal or indeed any food service after 6 on a Sunday. The bar had run out of crisps and nuts. Our room was pleasant enough although the single beds small. Bathroom was great. The window to the terrace was dirty. The following morning Breakfast was 20 minutes late setting up (we were very hungry). This is not an inexpensive hotel and I found the service lacklustre and complacent.

Positive experience: This place is very special, stunning views, peaceful atmosphere, and helpful reception. Only thing wrong was poor vegan/vegetarian breakfast offering. We waited 50 minutes for porridge which looked and tasted like wallpaper glue. The other vegan option was falafel (for breakfast?!). About 25 years behind the times on vegan food, sorry! Please change menu for next time we come back! Try latest cookbooks by Isa Chandra Moscowitz if you need reference. Otherwise love this place.

Fantastic experience: I was so impressed with this hotel. Absolute amazing value for money. Gorgeous location though 10 minute drive from Bath, very worth it. Breakfast was nice the grounds are stunning and facilities are good (pools gym etc). Would 100% return! We came for my boyfriend's birthday and he loved it, they even left us some chocolates to say happy birthday!

Positive experience: We had such a great stay at the hotel. We had stumbled upon it online, and were very pleasantly surprised. We had booked directly with them, and when we arrived, we had discovered they had upgraded us to a valley view room, that was very beautiful, along with the some of the best chocolates in our room. The grounds of the hotel were absolutely stunning. Definitely visiting again soon.

Fantastic experience: Lovely stay at this great hotel. A beautiful setting, it’s peaceful and rustic with lots of character. Perfect location, being just a short 10 minute drive from Bath City Centre (or 45 minute walk in the lovely countryside) Breakfast is included with the rooms and there is a great selection, catering for multiple dietary requirements. Gym, indoor and outdoor pool are great and open all day for hotel guests to use. Staff are also lovely and attentive Overall a great stay and would highly recommend!!
