Landal Piperdam: Opinions
Positive experience: Lovely lodge - although it could do with a bit of tlc (looking a bit tired & needing some repairs) Hot tub was great but it needs some tlc as not all the jets were working. Be aware these are self catering & you need to bring anything you think you will need!! We popped to the shops to buy more necessities as we forgot a few things. (Very minimalistic!) Spa is nice. We didn't use the pool or restaurant due to the weather. Be aware some lodges are quite far (1/2 mile) from the main building & there are no lights on some of the roads between them. Nice relaxing break as planned. No WiFi or mobile signal most of the location, except at reception & room with a view.
Negative experience: Went for my 70th with family. Issues started before we even got there Had a spa voucher (which cannot be booked on line). After 20 phone calls and an email, got it booked although girl I spoke with said she couldn’t do a patch fast as not trained!! Email on day before arrival saying our hot tub wasn’t working but they had upgraded us. On investigation, they had down dreaded us as no sauna in the lodge. Eventually got that sorted. Large red notice on lodge door saying strictly NO DOGS ALLOWED. £500 fine. We had paid for our dogs so they said it was ok. Couldn’t use balcony (locked with notice saying not to be used). No lighting in kitchen area and we had a small child. Radiators were all rusty and chandeliers were covered in cobwebs. RUN DOWN SADLY
Fantastic experience: I went into piperdam a few nights ago. The only outstanding memory of the night was Sam's persistent flirtation with my wife. Contrary to my wishes, my wife is eager to meet him again. Otherwise, it was great night out, would recommend (don't take your wife)!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant location brilliant setup loads to do we will be back
Positive experience: We came here for my mother-in-law's 70th birthday celebrations for a 4 day break. I had initially read up on reviews beforehand and was hoping we would be one of the lucky ones. But from the get go there seemed to be little problems. We were initially booked for the Osprey Spa lodge (pet friendly) but was informed the day before that we were getting another lodge as the hot tub wasn't working and apparently we were getting an upgrade (we were actually being downgraded as the lodge they tried to give us didn't have a sauna). After the hassle was resolved, we were upgraded to the Eagle Spa plus that came with a working hot tub this time. When we arrived the lodge looked lovely but we soon noticed the amount of cobwebs in and around the lamps. The lack of WiFi was also a problem as not all the lodges got WiFi and ours was one of them. This wouldn't be quite so bad if our own data was working but the signal was atrocious (suppose that's what happens when you're in the middle of nowhere). We decided to go out for a meal at the restaurant on the grounds called 'Room With a View' and was sadly disappointed. The staff were new and obviously flung into the deep end and didn't know which tables they were serving the food to and were approaching the wrong tables many times. Out of the 6 of us that went for a meal, only 2 enjoyed it and 2 walked away with a dodgy stomach afterwards. We think it was the haggis that we had for our starters! The timings of the food getting dished out was weird and we had a kid with us who was served last while the rest of us had already started eating. Also for a place that is supposed to be dog friendly, we noticed there didn't seem to be many dog waste bags and some areas leading to the lodges were either poorly lit or not lit at all due to the street lamps not working. Apart from all of that negativity above, as a family we did have a nice break away regardless but I'm glad to be back to my own home comforts.
Negative experience: Horrendous stay. We booked this break away as a couple following illness, park found to be rundown on arrival. We also arrived to a foul smelling lodge which we needed to fully clean on arrival as it smelt like a dirty dog kennel, dog fouling around hot tub which my wife stood in on opening lodge doors, flooding around lodge, faulty hot tub which was not useable or repairable during our stay, no heating due to boiler fault, faulty oven which needed replaced during stay. Maintenance in and out everyday due to ongoing faults. Paid Monday to Friday however due to low temperatures and ongoing faults left Thursday after agreement with reception staff. Reception staff initially apologetic, sending a bottle of wine to lodge and offering a full clean, stating we could not be moved as park full, then offered refund of 20% for inability to use faulty hot tub. Staff then offered full refund (stating full refund had been processed) if checking out early due to disastrous stay and ongoing issues and faults, however denied this after check out despite numerous discussions and emails with staff which I will not name on this at this time. No full refund issued despite three reception staff advising they were aware we were being refunded on early check out , we were issued 20% only due to hot tub. We planned a large family holiday next summer for son’s 30th birthday, wouldn’t even consider this now. Would discourage anyone from booking Piperdam, staff are rude, obviously dishonest and have continued to communicate in passive aggressive manner. Lodges run down, in desperate need of upgrading and certainly not worth the money charged. Avoid at all cost.
Negative experience: AVOID!!! We booked a lodge to stay while at a friends wedding and chose to pay extra for a lodge with a hot tub, on arrival our hot tub was not working and we reported this as soon as we realised hoping it could be sorted. Zero communication from staff the whole weekend, we constantly had to keep calling and going to reception for updates. We did not get the use of the hot tub. We have now been told we will be given a refund of 20% because this is “company policy” however we paid more than 20% more for the lodge with a hot tub so unsure how they can get away with this. Seems like they are aware the hot tubs are not working and making money from people by charging extra and then only refunding a small percentage back. To make matters worse our friends who got married here had money stolen from guest gift cards!!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love coming here, been coming for a few years now. Love it!
Fantastic experience: The wedding was fabulous. The meal was delicious.
Negative experience: Have not stayed in lodges, but used restaurant.A glorified Witherspoons, but better food and service at spoons to be fair, and far cheaper.
Positive experience: There for a wedding which all in all was great fun, however the food was very poor quality and lots of repairs needed to put this anywhere near what they think they have, I didn't stay the weekend asbrhe price was throught the roof but them that did stay said never again.
Negative experience: I'm actually quite surprised at how highly this is rated on Google. Read the lower marked reviews before you go. Awful experience in lodge 32 - found another review from June 2024 with similar issues that still haven't been fixed so don't stay there. We have stayed here before but Piperdam is so in need for an upgrade. Hot tub broken (seems to have been broken back in June too according to another review I found.) No wifi and very patchy data. I have left reviews on Facebook and trip advisor with all detail. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Positive experience: The holiday homes ( even the most expensive ones) have multiple small issues that could be repaired easily but have not been. They were limited amounts of toilet roll and accessories added such as no hair dryer. Overall relatively clean. Hot tub was clean but seriously needing repair
Fantastic experience: We had a very enjoyable family trip with dogs. Some of the cabins were on the small side and needed some renovation, but the main one was very spacious and comfortable, with a private sauna and outdoor hot tub. Maintenance were extremely responsive and there were plenty of activities and facilities on site. The dogs loved the woodland location and Camperdown Park is close by for longer walks. We'll be back!
Fantastic experience: Excellent place, didn't get off to a great start but once we got in everything went well, great food and service!
Positive experience: Quite good . Nice spacious accommodation. Really disappointed don't do breakfast on Mondays or Fridays . Should be advertised that's the case
Fantastic experience: We had a very luxurious chalet. Great quality.... but there is NO wifi in those chalets and the mobile data dissappears almost altogether inside. Bit of a hassle if you want to plan for your trips. For the rest it's great! Jacuzzi is great! Service is great! I stayed in chalet 79.
Negative experience: Some major issues, some minor. First visit here in a couple of years staying with a group of 10 in lodge 54, nothing much has changed, lodges are tired and need lots of little things repaired and upgraded. On arrival the heating was not working, maintenance could not fix it so a plumber was sent the next day. Plumber arrived but without the maintenance crew, I was sent around the lodge assisting the plumber checking all the thermostats were on, not what you expect from a weekend away. Plumber couldn't fix the issue, instead all the valves were removed from the underfloor heating which left the heating on flat out until they could get an electrician. At least we were no longer cold. We are home now and have yet to see an electrician come to make repairs. There is a major issue with one of the floor sockets in the bedroom above the lounge, when anything is plugged in a huge blue flash emitted from the socket and all the power went out, luckily it didn't damage the device we were trying to charge. The general cleanliness of the main areas was ok, there are some areas which are full of lint/ dust, some of the carpets are past their best. Stag and hen parties have taken their toll here, I think at a lower price you could accept the tired nature of the lodges, but at the premium price being charged for these they really need to be better. Kids enjoyed the little pipers, and the hot tub, the games table was missing all of the pieces, we were told that we would not be getting them as they go missing, presumably there were none left to hand out. Unless some investment is put back into these I cannot currently recommend a stay here.
Negative experience: We checked in right before the reception closed at 5 ish after a 12 hour drive. We had a lodge and my dog came with us a very fluffy Labrador. We got to our lodge. When we walked in smelt strongly of damp. There were large cobwebs on the ceiling. The master bathroom was full of mould. The worst part was the stains on the master bedroom floor. I was unsure if the state of the lodge was due to the fact it was a “pet friendly” lodge however my home is not anywhere near this dirty and i have a pet.We have had to wear shoes inside the lodge due to the floors. On one night we also went down to the bar for some food. A butter chicken was ordered. Let’s just say the nan bread on the side was more like a popper dom it was rock solid. As we had my dog with us i did not go down to reception to complain about the state of the lodge i thought i would just give them the feedback on the way out. As the lodge was so dirty to start with i didnt need to worry about pet hair on anything. When i went down to the reception to sign out they were less than apologetic and they didnt seem to care. Please see attached photos
Fantastic experience: We went here for the weekend to celebrate my parents 50 th anniversary with my family and we had the best time...so did the furries xx
Positive experience: The Lodge was lovely & well equipped. My only gripe was it was a bit whiffy on entering, smelt a bit damp or musty. The outside space didn't look very inviting, dirty table & broken chairs. Staff soon brought new matching chairs Once this was done, & opened the windows for a little while it was fine. I used the spa. Jae was excellent. She listened to what I said and applied it accordingly during my massage. The pressure was just as I like it. Really enjoyed the facial too. Thanks Jae.
Fantastic experience: I went today for my first ever beauty and spa experience! I got the power trio which included a massage, facial and scalp massage. It was absolutely fantastic and the best value for money. I felt like a queen! Pamela was wonderful too and made sure to adapt things to make it more comfortable and accessible. I have daily chronic pain and I’ve spent the rest of the day finally able to settle and breathe with very little pain after a busy weeks stay. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Stayed in the Kinder Lodge with my family, our stay was absolutely fantastic. The location was amazing, with woodland views from the porch and balcony. The lodge is wooden throughout, and feels similar to an American hunting lodge. The rooms were clean, very spacious and the site is very quiet. We felt the value was exceptional, and we will definitely be returning.
Fantastic experience: Myself, partner and two kids come to use the pool quite regularly and it's always a joy to go. Both kids love it and the changing facilities are always clean and well maintained by their wonderful staff especially Brandon every time we're there he's always attentive and comes to have a chat and see if there is anything he can do to help make our time there more enjoyable!! He's an absolute credit to piperdam and that deserves some recognition!!
Positive experience: Went here for our mini honeymoon getaway, my main issue was the cobwebs and dead bugs everywhere. I obviously expect this slightly due to the location being in a woodlands but in the restaurant onsite there were dead bugs all along the window ledges which have been there for a significant amount of time, quite off putting whilst having lunch. Our lodge was really nice although we found a beer bottle cap in the hot tub which made us think it wasn't properly cleaned out from the previous occupiers.
Positive experience: Popped in today for a birthday lunch and hadn't been in a while. Wasn't very busy, but service was very slow. Also saw staff taking a lady's meal back to the kitchen 4 times which was worrying. The lady left without eating in the end. Our meals were OK although we did send them back to be reheated as food was luke warm. Drinks were returned to the bar as there was no fizz in the drinks ordered. Husband ordered the pork belly, but after a while had to reorder as this was apparently not available today. Surely you would let your staff know what's on and off the menu for the day. The toilets could also do with a bit of tlc. So disappointing as this used to be a special place to visit. Please take comments on board, as you have a super venue, but something is just not right at Piperdam and that is such a shame. Don't think we will be back I'm afraid. Sorry. P.S. Staff were pleasant and polite, not their fault that things are not as they should be.
Negative experience: Stayed in the large Vegas lodge which we stayed in 8 years ago. Its desperately in need of modernising. Lots of lose water taps, snooker table needs recovered and decent cues, hot tub was filthy. Carpet on the stairs was manky. 18 hole golf course is decent but you should not be charging for the 9 hole course as its an eyesore. Went into the bar area which was fine to be honest with friendly staff. 4pm check in is not great either. No WiFi in the lodges also refused food in the restaurant as we hadn't booked a table in advance when it was less than half full.
Fantastic experience: The lodges are great, especially if you have a hot tub. Self catering accommodation, but there is a restaurant at the site which is very good. It has 2 golf courses, 1 a 9hole par 3 course the other is a very testing 18, and also quite long.
Fantastic experience: Went for my first every massage and was so nervous but Amelia made me feel so at ease and was amazing from start to end. Would highly recommend booking.
Negative experience: We booked the vegas lodge, it looks nothing like the pictures, it was filthy, curtain were dirty and transparent so no point even having them. most of the appliances didn’t work, and very limited cutlery. the snooker table is falling to bits and covered in duct tape, half the lights didn’t even work, broken chairs, my little one even fell down from a chair.full of insects and flies. massively overpriced as well. We have been here before and it’s nothing like it was last time so this is our last time here
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience and will be recommending to my friends!! Lovely ladies and very professional. I'll be back again!
Fantastic experience: Gorgeous place. Only one bar for miles but it's a nice relaxing place. Rooms are clean and set in a scenic wooded environment.
Negative experience: When trying to book a lodge that is accessible for a wheelchair user there was no mention on the website as to which if any would be suitable. It took over an hour on the phone to get to speak to someone who could help with my enquiry. I was dismayed to find that in 2024 not one lodge is accessible to someone who is a fulltime wheelchair user and can't stand let alone walk. I was told the lodges are wheelchair accessible if you can walk through the door and someone can fold the wheelchair up to get it through the door, because loads of folks do that!!! Also none of the bathrooms in the lodges have rails to help ambulant folks with mobility issues. In this day and age of inclusivity I am speechless.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic wedding venue, relaxed and friendly staff.
Negative experience: We booked the vegas lodge, it looks nothing like the pictures, it was filthy, curtain poles kept falling down, most of the appliances didn’t work, the snooker table is falling to bits and covered in duct tape, no lamps, broken furniture, massively over priced, the restaurant food and service was terrible.
Negative experience: I'll start with what is good....the scenery, particularly the view across the lake, and the staff who are excellent and obviously trying hard to make up for all the shortfalls. This was our second visit, marred by a lack of maintenance, lack of provision of basic items which the official description fails to mention, lack of appropriate cleaning, infestation with insects, and a general lack of attention to health and safety. Problems are reported and only partially rectified or not dealt with. Managers fail to get back to dissatisfied customers. Some faults have not been addressed since our last visit. Some of the issues are so bad that I intend writing an official complaint with copies to the local environmental health officer and tourism board. Customers are being sold a pup, my advice is to go somewhere else, anywhere but here.
Fantastic experience: I had my first Swedish massage today from Isabel who was very friendly and made me feel very welcome My daughter also loved her deluxe pedicure it just finished our long weekend holiday We will be back in October
Fantastic experience: Had a round of golf on a lovely well presented course. Beautiful scenery all around
Negative experience: We were unimpressed by our stay at Piperdam which was disappointing as it was a voucher our friends all gave us as a wedding gift. It was an expensive 4 night stay and the standard of the lodge definitely did not reflect this. We felt ripped off. It certainly is not a luxury stay and we actually discussed leaving early as our own home was much more comfortable! It smelled very strongly of chlorine/bleach when we first arrived so we had to open all the windows to air the cabin out. The furniture was scratched and outdated, the sofas were ripped and uncomfortable. All of the curtains were trailing on the floor and looked filthy. The blinds were stained and dirty. The main bedroom was actually OK apart from one of the main lights did not work. No WiFi in the cabin and poor phone signal - sorry but in this day and age it's just expected, especially with the rate of the cabin. We wanted to watch a movie in the cabin but couldn't do this. There were full dog poo bags right outside the front door when we arrived. The front door key never worked correctly and kept getting stuck in the door. There were lots of cigarette butts in the patio that hadn't been cleaned, so we had to do this before letting our dog out. The dishwasher did not drain. There were only 2 of everything cutlery wise which is totally ridiculous especially if you are cooking a few courses. 1 cheap roll of toilet roll so we had to buy our own (all the other cabin companies we have stayed at provided enough to cover the stay). 1 towel each, again they appear to only provide you with the absolute bare minimum which is not acceptable given the price. Radiators are all rusty. There are bits missing everywhere on the laminate flooring. The area around the lodges were overgrown and badly in need of a cut, we found it difficult to walk out dog anywhere. Cannabis use was evident as we could always smell it walking our dog, and had to close all the windows in our cabin one evening as we could even smell it in our cabin (being heavily pregnant it wasn't something I wanted to smell!). The bar was OK, staff were nice and food was actually alright. The whole place looked tired and in need of TLC. It's ashame as it's a nice area and has so much potential but clearly the money is not going towards the upkeep of the area or lodges. We will not recommend or return, hopefully someone who cares about customer service will take over the place and give it a much needed overhaul.
Negative experience: Lodges needing a lot of TLC, not worth the price we paid. Unfortunately won't be back
Fantastic experience: Gina was clearly a very experienced therapist. Calm manner, knowledgable and was simply the best facial I have ever experienced. Not only did she focus on the face skin, and muscles and manage as well cleansing, she also focussed on the neck, scalp and shoulders. Whilst the UV light was on, she massaged by hand and feet. Absolutely excellent!!! I want to go back for another!!!
Positive experience: Let themselves down , lodges showing a lack of maintenance, and readiness for occupation the cooker wasn't working , kitchen tap not working properly. The pool , bar & restaurant area were great and staff were helpful and friendly And efficient.
Negative experience: We won't be back. Sadly, this was our last time staying at Piperdam. We have visited Piperdam over the past 10 years, and this was our first visit since the resort changed ownership. I had read recent reviews expressing disappointment about the condition of the lodges, bar, and restaurant, so I was apprehensive. Unfortunately, our experience confirmed these concerns. When we arrived, we were given keys to our lodge for the week. We were immediately disappointed. The hot tub had a hose hanging out with water gushing everywhere, the garden furniture was covered in moss, and the patio hadn't been swept in ages. My husband fixed the hot tub hose, and I swept away the pine needles and leaves, which made a significant difference. As we organised our food in the fridge, we noticed it was missing a few shelves. The only shelf available was a partial one, but we managed. The lodge, meant for two people, had an overly minimalistic approach, providing just two of everything. Upon arrival, we received a dish towel, dish soap, two washing machine and dishwasher tablets, a cloth, and a sponge. However, the dishwasher was missing the temperature selection dial, rendering it useless. While we hand-washed our dishes, the tap was super loose moving from side to side when you wanted either hot or cold water. It was disappointing to find non-functional amenities given the cost of the lodge. The hot tub experience was equally frustrating. The buttons for the bubbles were peeling off, the inlet filter was clogged with pine needles, and it likely hadn't been cleaned in a long time. We had to top up the water during the week as it leaked from a corner. The queen-size bed had noticeable indentations from prolonged use, creating an uncomfortable hump in the middle. The bathroom was acceptable, but someone had punched the light switch into the wall. The sauna appeared as though someone had spilled nail polish on the benches. We reported the front door handle, as it felt like it would fall off. Additionally, the TV only had basic Freeview with an outdated DVD player, the remote didn't work, and the fireplace didn't work on a cool evening when we wanted to use it. Although the reception area had been upgraded, the bar, chairs, and Room with a View restaurant remained dark, dingy, and furnished with grubby tables and chairs. For our last night, we booked a table at Room with a View, only to find it shared the same menu as the bar. We almost left, as we could have had the same uninspiring pub grub at the bar. To be fair to the reception staff we raised our concerns as mentioned. They organised to have the dishwasher replaced, the door handle tightened and garden furniture replaced. Sadly, we won't be returning to what was once one of our favorite places. It's time to find somewhere new and special.
Negative experience: We stayed in the vages lodge for my parents 60th wedding anniversary. We were welcomed with mold in kitchen sink torn snooker table top, drink splattered card table. Dirty floors and more cob webs than spiderman .the furniture is nothing like advertised luxury leather was replaced with cheap small IKEA looking range. definitely not going back even after being offered 20% discount, A great 1 of memory spoiled with false advertised property and facilities Hope this saves someone
Positive experience: Lovely secluded area with cabins in the woods. Great for dog owners. Lovely big loch that you can walk around. Recreation games area for children and golf course cost extra. Swimming pool is not suitable for those with disabilities which was really disappointing for us as all other areas are disabled friendly. We visited during the quiet period so no noise disturbance.
Negative experience: Just returned home from 4 night stay at lake side lodge and can only say it was the dirtiest and most run down accomodation we have ever stayed at . Save your money and please dont !! . Difficult to describe how bad it was .
Negative experience: Arrived early for our check-in, sat outside, outside area in need of maintenance, weeds, discarded cigarettes, cobwebs on windows, bird poo on picnic bench's .Overall the lodge was clean, the fridge door shelf was broken so there was no where to store milk etc, Another fridge was brought, We had this same issue back in 2021! Hot tub cover not fit for purpose, it was split up the middle so debris and the polystyrene insulation fell in the tub! Had dinner in restaurant, food was bland! The nice view was marred by dirty windows and cobwebs! 4th time visited piperdam but will not be back, not worth the money, needs a complete overhaul to bring it up to any kind of standard!
Negative experience: Use to come here on a fairly regular basis and always thought it was excellent. However, today I returned after an absence of a few years for a quick 9 holes on the par 3 course. What an absolute mess. The greens? Jesus. There was no grass on them. A disgrace. The fairways? What fairways? The grass was either 6 inches long or the ones that had been cut there was grass clippings everywhere. So much grass clippings. Such a disappointment. The whole resort just looked to be lacking in some TLC. We went into the bar area for some lunch after only to make a swift exit. Avoid like the plague. Won’t be back
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place to stay. Have sauna, steam room and swimming pool along with kiddie play area. Excellent customer service. Not to forget, spa and nail saloon for ladies.
Positive experience: beautiful place, wonderful views. clean house, several bathrooms, very large terrace with a wonderful view Unfortunately, the hot tube did not work properly and the cover was torn Pieces of Styrofoam kept falling into the water the filter fell out and dirty the water .
Fantastic experience: Fantastic weekend at Piperdam- eat, drinking, and being merry. Stayed lochside this time and loved the view. Went for massage with Pamela who I would whole heartedly recommend. Lovely food in the bar as well. Just brilliant and would def come back and stay lochside next time.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic staff and a big shout to Stephen for his help with the hot tub and we have booked the same lodge for next year the only negative is the tv and bedroom remote did not work on our arrival the man said the remote would need reprogramming and he would do this the next day but never showed up lodge 67
Fantastic experience: Great place to go as a family or couple. Quiet woodland, with or without private hot tub. Cabins a neutral decoration, well heated. Comfortable beds/sofas, the perfect home away from home. Just make sure to take laundry detergent and fairy liquid. Utensils, crockery/cutlery etc
Fantastic experience: Very happy with rejuvenating treatment by Gina, plenty time taken and excellent massage & facial. Both my girls very happy with their treatments too on 25 April, unsure of her name.
Fantastic experience: Thank you for having us we had a brilliant stay, the hot tub was fantastic, the bed is the comfiest bed we have ever slept on.the stark dinner we had was delicious cooked to perfection, I got a massage and it was brilliant from the young woman that did it.overall we are very happy with our stay and would highly recommend it Thank you
Negative experience: Would not recommend. We were expecting high quality but shower was mouldy and broken, sauna didn't work, ridiculously small television, and there was banging (like gun shots) all night. We cut our stay from three nights to one immediately.
Fantastic experience: Erin, our therapist, was absolutely wonderful today. Welcoming and friendly, she explained everything and gave us the most amazing massages. We will definitely book back in after our experience today, it was a first for both off us. The products used were so nice and Erin explained them all to us, we will be back in next week to buy some of the products she used today. The pool and sauna were so nice, we had a lovely day.. 5 Stars from Erin today!
Fantastic experience: Loved it, they are in the middle of getting done up so theres small improvements being made here and there, but its a great place, the lodges are lovely, very clean and spacious. I definitely recommend it and I'll definitely be back again. The restaurant is very tasty too they have a allergy menu for gluten free and dairy free options.
Fantastic experience: Exceptional Hot Tub Getaway! Escape to tranquility and luxury with a stay at Piperdam. Nestled amidst breathtaking scenery, this lodge offers an unforgettable retreat where relaxation is paramount. However, it's the hot tub experience that truly elevates the stay to a whole new level of indulgence. From the moment you step into the lodge, you're greeted by a sense of warmth and comfort. The cozy interior and thoughtful amenities set the stage for a memorable getaway. But it's the hot tub that steals the show. Perched on private ground overlooking stunning vistas, the hot tub at Piperdam is a haven of serenity. Whether you're soaking under the stars or basking in the afternoon sun, the soothing waters melt away stress and tension, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. What sets this hot tub experience apart is the attention to detail. The water is always perfectly heated, and the surrounding area is meticulously maintained for optimal comfort. It's clear that the staff at Piperdam take great pride in ensuring that every guest enjoys a truly exceptional stay. But the luxury doesn't end with the hot tub. The lodge itself offers a range of amenities designed to enhance your experience, from plush bedding to gourmet kitchens. Whether you're curling up on the sofa watching tv or enjoying a good book or exploring the great outdoors, every moment at Piperdam is filled with relaxation and enjoyment.
Negative experience: Spent four nights in a lodge for 12. Ovens did not work, fridge 1 had no shelves, fridge 2 had no door pockets, freezer 1 was sitting at a precarious angle, cupboard doors were hanging off, kickboards hanging off or missing. Lodge was not clean. Window catches broken / not working. Hot tub was not able to be used on first night as it was not up to temperature. Hot tub cover was falling apart resulting in small polystyrene balls floating in the tub. Only one key given for a lodge of twelve. Some simple maintenance and cleaning would have made a difference.
Fantastic experience: Gina was lovely and my treatments were amazing and so relaxing. I will definitely book again during my next stay. Thanks Gina.
Positive experience: we have 5 bed villa, just basic, nothing "wow" missing bedside cabinets, lamps , no locks in the doors , not one hook in the villa not even in bathroom , nowhere to hang your clothes, towels! nowhere to hang wet swimming suit after jacuzzi, This villa is for 10 people. However the jacuzzi barely can fit 4 people! Activity.... dont expect to much as crazy golf is sooo neglected, holes are blocked by paper cups, archery is on paper from primary school, overpriced stay,
Negative experience: This place has so much potential, however, it's upkeep is at the point that it is a health and safety issue for families to enjoy. One of many examples include the child safety gate that was broken. The constant back and forth to the reception to rectify it and it was still not addressed for our entire 3 night stay. The thought of another family renting out this lodge and something happening to a child, e.g. going head first down the stairs has driven this review in the hope that the owners stop and prioritize health and safety in these lodges. All the bathrooms did not have handrails for an older or disabled clientele. The shower tray was another death trap as it had warped with age so was uneven making it as slippy and unsteady as an ice rink. Other essentials that need attention are the spa wasn't working, the sauna also didn't work and yet these are some of the main reasons why people chose Piperdam to stay. Reception also told my elderly mother to put all of the rubbish in her car and drive it to the dumper bins as we couldn't find the bins. This is a joke! The change over times are possibly too tight prioritizing money over safety and maintenance which is disappointing and dangerous. This is not a place I would recommend staying unless you are being guaranteed that it has been maintained.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time. Remote so data signal was not great. The food in the restaurant was really nice.
Negative experience: PART 2, to add on to food coffee lifes post below and see pictures there Stayed in lodge 51 Muirloch Spa Plus Fri02/02/2024 -Mon 05/0/2024 . We were booked into the Restaurant with a view as a table of 15 for lunch. Standard menu, kind of pub grubby vibes. For a big table, meals all arrived in good time and nothing was missed. I chose the Cajun chicken linguine (the calories are stated on the menus here and it was stated that the dish was 1100Kcal) when the dish arrived it just looked so sad and as if there wasn’t much chicken, I pulled apart the dish and there was around 8 small pieces of chicken that may have made up about 100g cooked chicken, now I meticulously weigh and log my food daily for health and wellbeing, along with working in the hospitality industry for more than 17 years, this dish was in no way shape or form 1100Kcal. I also make a Cajun chicken pasta dish at home with more volume than this had for less Kcal. It was not creamy, the pasta was oily and under seasoned, I spoke with the waiter and he said he would take the dish back to check with the chef, he returned and apologised that the portion of chicken was correct. The portion of chicken in the dish was so poor and not worth the money of £15 for the dish. He kindly let me swap it out for the Caesar salad with added chicken, which was lovely, the waiter handle the situation well. My husband ordered the crab linguine, I think if chef Jeanal Drummy (the chef who created the dish and won chef of the year in 2022) tasted their dish here they would be taking their name of the menu (unless that is how the dish is intended to be served) it was under seasoned and over spiced, for a light, fresh pasta dish, the delicate crab flavour was lost in the over powering chilli and evoo, we hate to season our food as we believe a good chef will season their food well and the guest should enjoy every bite without having to add anything. Most people enjoyed their food, one guest had the salmon that is served with hollandaise sauce, the sauce was cold and practically just a mayo essentially, as it lacked the sharpness of lemon and the little burst of pepper. The kids portions are plentiful and I was envious of their food over my own. If you are a coffee lover, don’t expect to find any on site, no on site café and just starbucks at the press of a button from the bar staff. The distance the lodges are from the resort service is a bit of a trek along roads that are not well lit in the evening and there is evidently drink driving going on as we witnessed on one evening out with the dogs. There should be a lite pathway along the load to the services and along to the play barn also and the barn car park needs potholes filled Site in general is looking tired. Having worked for a major UK travel company in their hospitality sector, we were always trained that the customer should never see work, were possible, the end of the driving range is just very bleak looking and untidy, the one way road that leads out of resort on to the main junction either to leave or drive back down to service is a shambles, pot hole galore. Also no first aid kits were in any of the lodges and with poor signal, I found this slightly irresponsible that nothing is available in case of an emergency ( first lodge we have come across with no kit) The site nor the lodge wowed me and will never return or recommend. If I didn’t need to be there for family, I wo uld have left that night. Disappointing that the reception team did not ask how our stay was at check out, it was a case of great thanks bye, shows lack of care to your guests.
Negative experience: PART 1 Stayed in lodge 51 Muirloch Spa Plus Fri02/02/2024 -Mon 05/0/2024 To say I was underwhelmed is an understatement. If I had not had other family members on site for a celebration, I would have left (we travel a lot and I could have got flights to somewhere with a nice hotel for the price we paid here). To start the key to the front door is fiddly in this lodge several twist, turns and moving it about to either get it unlocked or locked and then get the key out. Also some awkwardness to close the backdoor to get to hot tub. The Lodge is very tired, unloved and needs some major updating. The bedroom was maybe the only room that felt comfortable and worth paying any money for the stay. Splits in the laminate, cupboard doors hanging off, tables extremely stained and disgusting, coffee table glass too small for it, dining table split and stained. Careless paint splatters over the floors and doors from previous refresh of white wall (although, you would not think the walls have been painted in a while with dirt and scuff marks) The single chair is disgustingly filthy and needs to either be binned or upcycled in a material that is less subject to stains. The sofa also needs replaced, the springs have gone on left hand side which is uncomfortable. Cushions look and feel like they have been there since the 90’s. The wet wall in the bathroom is an eye sore, whoever chose that walnut wet wall needs to have a rethink, the seals round the bathrooms floor, doors and wet wall is coming away with careless paint platters on the floor. The shower, toilet, sink were sparkling clean, I could not fault the shower, no sign of pink soap scum, limescale or mould and I can slightly overlook the fact that the shower hose pipe was exposed and the stainless steel coating has slipped away from the shower head. Our sauna was a waste of time, wouldn’t get above 40 and well what is the point. We enjoy a sauna every week in our gym and this was seriously lacking. The bed was a super king sleigh bed and was lovely and spacious, the bedroom is the only room I would say made the stay acceptable and only just, the pillows are shocking, the furniture is showing signs of wear and tear but I did like the pine furniture in here it had a rustic lodge feel. The hot tub, pointless, we got in it for 5 mins, the lid is broke and was an effort to move, there was polystyrene from the lid in the hot tub, the jets only work in one area of it, and after 5 mins, the hot tub sounded like it wanted to explode, just felt very unsafe. Along with a big what looked like a split in the bottom that was all green. We had family staying on site in lodge 92, we popped round to see them as we couldn’t have anyone in our lodge cause there was only 2mugs, 2 glasses, 2 forks/knifes/spoons, 2 plates, 2 bowls and 2 side plates, so don’t expect to be able to host if you are in a two bed lodge, found this to be very strange. And well, their lodge was gorgeous in comparison to our, you would not believe they are on the same site. Even one of the other lodges that other family members were in were middle ground between ours and 92 (tired looking but still far more presentable and a fantastic sauna that did work). We also found no dish towel in the lodge and it really was bring everything for yourself as there was no sponges or washing liquid to clean dishes, so very weird. So at my expense I had to go out to the local Asda to by these things. Never have I come across a lodge where I have had to do this. Also, why is there no lamps, who wants to site with the main light on
Fantastic experience: Wonderful break away. Service and location is perfect. The lodge was lovely but some of the furnishings are looking a bit tired but still very comfortable and clean.
Positive experience: A group of us went and stayed at the Osprey spa plus logde, great size VERY warm instead very uncomfortable if i'm honest. We were looking forward to the Hot tub, but to our disappointment the hot tub was cold, and had clearly only been put on not long before we arrived. Kitchen and bathrooms were nice, but the overall lodge felt it needed a bit of a revamp. Restaurant was also a let down, loving surroundings and entertainment but the food was poor! not worth the money at all. The best part for me was my massage it was fab!! It's not somewhere i'd be going back to.
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience at the admiral spa yesterday 21/1/24. Isobel was my therapist and what a lovely person she was, she made me feel very comfortable and spoke through the treatments asking me if I had any concerns or questions. The atmosphere in the room was perfect from the dim lighting to the warm sheets/towels to the music and oils. The bamboo massage was perfect, so relaxing and I feel great this morning, no tightness in my shoulders and neck and my skin looks amazing after my facial. At the end I was given recommendations and made an Elemis purchase to compliment my treatments. Can’t recommend this enough and Isobel also, thanks for adding to my wonderful weekend of surprises. Clair.
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience, Had the back neck and shoulder massage with the Elemis oils and it was incredible! Stayed in one of the new lodges at the front and the rooms were incredible. We had a few issues but it was sorted straight away by the amazing staff xx
Fantastic experience: Bit disappointed with our lodge. Cooker was broken with only 3 rings working. Heating was a bit dubious. Did complain and we did a get a 2 ring burner in place as we couldn't get the cooker to switch off However the restaurant was really good. Service was excellent Food was lovely.
Fantastic experience: X My whole experience at the spa was amazing start to finish. I was given a warm welcome and lots of advice on my treatment. Gina was very professional with a friendly manner. I will definitely return. Ann
Negative experience: Disappointing doesn't even cover it. We've checked out after the first night due to the poor state and cleanliness of lodge 2 (Muirloch). When we went to check out early this morning it was obvious all of the faults we reported are known about already and the lodge is being let out under false pretenses. We have visited a few times before even getting married in one of the Vegas (now called Braveheart) lodges in 2018. Sadly standard have really slipped badly under Landal ownership and there is a very obvious lack of investment going on. The first sign of trouble was the puggy in bar having an out of order sign placed on it whilst we were having a drink and a very obviously burst couch at one of the tables. On arrival at our lodge just after 4pm check in we were met by the maintenance guy who had just filled the hot tub. He mentioned the water was a little colder than he hoped but it should be fine in a wee while, contradictory to what we were told at check in that they are typically done in the morning. By 1030pm the hot tub has only climbed to just over 27C, so clearly wasn't anywhere near useable. We initially didn't mind that as we thought we'd just use the sauna and be done with it. Sadly this was also out of the question as it was broken and in general in poor condition. The writing around the control dials was completely worn off and has been replaced by ineligible writing in black marker. After 2 hours of the light suggesting the heating elements were on and zero heat it was eventually turned off. This wasn't even close to the end of the problems. The lodge in general is heavily worn and in dire need to renovation. The carpets are heavily stained and in some place worn through (livingroom and bedroom door). The walls are also heavily stained (including above the toilet!) and there is obviously water ingress in the bathroom ceiling. The sealant behind the kitchen sink is also coming away from the wall with alot of mould showing behind it. The strip between the carpet in the livingroom and the kitchen floor was also loose leaving a sharp edge. The kitchen floor appears to have heating. However, when flicking the switch to power it the control panel just flickers away, obviously broken. The couch in the livingroom was badly worn and we also think burst given how far we sunk into it and by the fact it was giving us both backache. The bed in the bedroom was also horribly uncomfortable with a very thin and worn mattress. We could feel every spring through it and struggled to get comfortable during the night, both waking up aching in the morning. I'm surprised anyone could sign off the lodge as clean and ready as it was clearly mouldy and full of dust (asthma and allergies triggered for both of us and you could see the dust on surfaces and switches). Very very disappointed with our experience and we've had a trend of increasingly worse stays at the park since Landal took over. We certainly wouldn't consider staying again which is a shame as it was a place that was dear in our hearts. The fact they are letting the place get into such a poor state is appalling and they shouldn't be letting out these lodges. There are a number of things that could be done to improve things and they are very obviously being overlooked in the name of saving If you want WiFi then it is only available in the main reception. It is 2024 and is the type of thing that is expected now, especially if you are giving out an info sheet with QR codes. The TVs in the lodge are pretty old and the remotes were missing the battery covers. I tried to phone the out of hours number for the nighttime duty manager (at 6pm as reception closes at 5) and the number went straight to their EE voicemail, the general enquiries email address is also not monitored outside of reception hours. When we spoke to reception after 9am this morning there was also a reluctance to let me speak to a manager instead we were pointed to the general enquiries email.
Positive experience: These cabins are a good size cozy and warm with an outside hot tub. But the shop is very small with not much choice and the restaurant doesn't have much on offer especially for vegetarian food. I wasn't impressed with the food in the restaurant but didn't have anything for me to eat in the shop so we went to the restaurant and both me and my wife were disappointed but we had been out and driving all day and too tired to go out driving around for something to eat as there were no other local shops to walk to. You definitely need to have a car to get around as there's not much near to Piperdam only the golf course for golfers.
Fantastic experience: Isobel made me feel relaxed and comfortable while being treated. Really enjoyed my hot stone massage, would highly recommend. Wayne
Fantastic experience: We have just stayed in Lodge 45 for 2 we really enjoyed it lovely massive slay super king size bed lovely furniture in bedroom bed was comfy loved the high roofs looks small from outside but huge inside! Only downfall I would mention is in need of new sofas hottub is a great feature and sauna both worked perfectly shower was great also very powerful kitchen has everything you need I think people must realise the lack of respect other people may have left..for example hot tub cover being damaged the staff won't replace things Every Time people break things?! These lodges are clearly used for drinking parties and i can only imagine how people leave them....respect is a must! our lodge was very clean no complaints staff was lovely had a lovely pedicure and being able to bring our dog was brilliant will defo come back
Negative experience: Honestly am appalled by the service we received over the weekend, there was 12 of us staying over the weekend, we had drinks in the ‘bar’ area every night and the service every single time was shocking, staff looked like they didn’t want to be there and it showed, not a manager in sight the whole time. As a manager myself I find it shocking that you’ve left 16-20 year olds to run a place like that, I asked for 2 different types of cocktails and the bar maid rolled her eyes, we had dinner on the Sunday and honestly what an embarrassment, we were seated at 6.10, ordered by 6.25 and our food arrived at 7.15, none of us ordered any starters and half the table had fish & chips! The batter on the fish was a horrible colour and was disgusting and dry, half our food came out and the other half took 10 more minutes to arrive to the table, bearing in mind there was only 2 other tables in the restaurant, staff couldn’t care less, we found all the waitresses very snippy, one said “it’s not up to the chef it’s up to us” even though she stated she wasn’t a manager, lodges were old and needed some tlc, the pathway from the lodges down to the clubhouse needs lights! Shocking that even needs said. Bottom line is all your staff need retrained on customer service, there should be a manager on to deal with complaints and none of the staff knew the menu either. My dad (a full grown man) ordered the burger and it looked like a child’s portion, came on a very small plate and just looked awful, everyone’s food was terrible and drinks took 15-20 minutes to arrive. All in all I would never eat here again and I wouldn’t ever recommend this place to anyone. Judging by the reviews doesn’t look like there will be much business for yous in the future if yous don’t sort this out.
Positive experience: Described as luxury lodge, however, very tired and not very well equipped for a self-catering lodge that was meant for up to 10 guests. Basic would have been a better description. Disappointing.
Fantastic experience: Very warm welcome to lodge, everything nice and clean. Lovely large white towels, even 2 bags ice in freezer . Hot tub and sauna fantastic.
Negative experience: Came for the weekend - 1 bedroom cabin. I was really disappointed with the condition of the cabin. Furniture ripped, kitchen falling to bits, radiator in bathroom leaking. The hot tub was dirty, the cover was ripped to pieces and polystyrene was everywhere. The hot tub was also cracked. They only give you two forks, two knifes, two plates etc it was comical. Would never return and would never recommend this place it is faulty towers.
Negative experience: The accommodation was extremely poor. The lodges are marketed as four star romantic getaways which it is far from. The sofas are an embarrassment to have in these lodges with rips on them and the leather flaking away let alone the way they collapse when you sit on them. Furthermore the carpet is atrocious it is full of stains and fraying everywhere, we brought our newborn baby and I wouldn’t dare put him down anywhere as it was disgusting. The kitchen was ill equipped with below the bare minimum in utensils (which were badly burnt and needing replaced), you would struggle to make a meal in there or eat it with only one of each crockery provided and only 2 glasses which didn’t even match. Not having a Prosecco flute in a romantic getaway lodge is embarrassing. The kitchen itself was shocking with the freezer so backed up with ice it probably wasn’t cleaned for a long time and certainly is not usable and the doors all squint and hanging off. The cherry on the cake was the door mat to leave the lodge to the hot tub area which had chunks missing out it and was disgusting. These mats can be purchased cheap from a shop so I don’t understand why that would be there. Overall the lodge is dated, tired and disgusting and far from what was advertised. I’m glad we left after being there 30 minutes had a better time at our home.
Negative experience: Was there for 4 nights beginning of September this year what a disappointment and waste of hard earned money, only saving grace was my spa treatment the girl was lovely and welcoming. Firstly you can’t get into lodge at 4pm then out by 10am on day of departure. Told not to use hot tub until 7pm as been drained and cleaned. The lodge was a big disappointment, slivers if glass on kitchen worktops which had seen better days as bits off and hanging off, fridge not working properly shelves on door missing, windows not closing properly, one of the showers had what looked like conditioner down the wall. To top that hot tub not working!!! Lid didn’t close over properly, the material was torn and the polystyrene balls falling into tub along with pine needles leaves etc. reported twice before someone came, to be told “hot tub broken” - NO WAY SHERLOCK!!! He went on to say don’t know what want him to do as he’s the only one there and his attitude was appalling. Was given a refund by the manager on day 3 of which feel I probably should’ve fought for a total refund as our hard earned money was wasted, and our staycation ruined, only saving grace was my spa treatment the girl was lovely and good at what she did. I will not return again or recommend, we were there in 2016 and it was perfect. Whole place needs updating and properly maintained. Was in lodge 48 Eagle
Positive experience: Isabelle was so welcoming, lovely warm hands. Felt so relaxed after my reflexology treatment. Lodges weren't very warm but perfectly clean
Fantastic experience: Very relaxing. I had the pleasure of kirsten doing my treatment. She was amazing very kind and helpful. Done a brilliant job with the treatment I asked. So thank you
Fantastic experience: We hired one of the lochside lodges for a week. It was clean, very spacious and comfortable. The loch view was spectacular and we had a sense of privacy from the other lodges which were more than 50 metres away. We were spoiled with bright sunny weather all week. Having a two year old we were also glad that Camperdown outdoor playparks were just a few miles away. Our grandson would have happily stayed there all week!
Positive experience: Plenty for all the family. Nice facilities, and great location. Bit disappointed the coffee machines can't cater for non-cows milk - would like to see barista machines in such a high class resort. Cabins could do with a little makeover. Otherwise, lovely experience.
Negative experience: Just back from a 4day stay. We have stayed here 3 times previously and were sorely disappointed this time. The outside area was not cleaned and the window had dirt blobs all over them. Covered in cobwebs so couldn't open a window. Hot tub area was not cleaned, table was filthy as well as the ground we hosed it all down ourselves. Inside the Freezer box was full of backed up ice... months worth!! The Restaurant service was dreadfully. 50mins for a starter!! We cancelled our mains. Other 3 tables had been waiting 90mins for their mains. I did speak to the Duty Manager the next day and was told this would all be sorted ...the outside area never was. We chipped the ice off the icebox, cleaned out side the best we could and never went back to the Restaurant. Lights outside weren't working either. This have gone down hill since our last visit. The poor young Restaurant servers are the ones I feel sorry for. We will not be re-booking after this experience which is a shame as it used to be great.
Fantastic experience: After a couple of minor issues, that were rectified quickly, we really enjoyed our stay. Reception team were on it straight away, and everything sorted within the day. Admire spa, was a much needed break also, with Isobel as our therapist, she adapted the mum and mini treatment perfectly. Hope to be up staying again soon.
Negative experience: Went for 3 days. Only good things were the lodge itself and the hot tub/jacuzzi. It states on the website there is free WiFi - only at reception! The WiFi does not travel to your lodge and there is no phone reception either. When we arrived we only got told where our lodge was, nothing about what activities are on and that you had to book the spa online. My father went for his honeymoon and loved it so that is why me and my partner went, unfortunately it has been completely run down since then. There used to be quad bikes but now there isn’t. There used to be a bike hire (which is stated on their website) there was no bike hire when we arrived the man stated ‘we don’t do them anymore’. The restaurant/bar there really isn’t any good food. We tried dinner and breakfast both terrible. Even the alcoholic drinks were bad. There was a restraunt called ‘eat with a view’ or something we asked to sit there and she said you had to book. Which we never got told. The waitress stated you eat the same food but just in a restaurant style room? Only one bar and one little shop when you run out of things, shop is overpriced. When we went to the activity barn we asked what activities we could do, which we got told mini golf only and I had the impression that the woman knew there wasn’t anything to do around there. Lodge was nice and so was the scenery but you’d expect more. Very poor and run down really does need a pick me up and more things
Positive experience: Overall a great place to stay , golf course had some damage to the greens which was no fault of course management just badness by someone ,lovely walks around about Piper dam ,12 of us in the Vegas lodge hot tub and sauna were well used by our party. Our only criticism was 12 for an evening meal in the main restaurant and quite a few of the choices where off as they said it has been a busy day no steaks ,burgers or pizza choices ... The lodge was great however and the walks were excellent so it never spoiled our stay to much Would use Piper dam in the future
Negative experience: Wouldn't stay again. Where we stayed was i dire need of some repair. Health and safety hazards for small kids! Room carpets were sticky and very grimy! Restaurant on site was grime, and the service was shocking. The location was beautiful, but Wouldn't stay again.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful resort in very relaxing surroundings. Staff were all helpful &friendly. We had lunch, which was delicious, sausage panini & chips. Our lodge was lovely and the hot tub and sauna were fab! The spa was amazing and Gina made me feel at ease instantly. Loved my healing duo treatment, would highly recommend x
Fantastic experience: We had a long weekend for 15 in two lochside lodges. Clean, roomy and well-equipped. Even saw the ospreys flying over the loch!
Positive experience: The lodge was immaculate. Only downfall was the couch has seen better days it was all ripped. Also no WiFi. The other half and I had brought our fire stick to watch movies but couldn't. Very picturesque. The hot tub and sauna were amazing.
Negative experience: Was there for my friends 3 night birthday treat… stayed in lodge 55 forester .. it was a disappointment.. the lodge was warm, but filthy.. as was the outside areas ..dirty laundry and Rubbish lying outside front door ..the sofa was ripped and the furnishings poor and innneed of replacing there wasn’t even a toilet roll holder in any bathroom.. the jacuzzi was dirty and had to be cleaned..the beds are tiny and the only lamp was so old the shade was wonky .. the sauna didn’t work so couldn’t use it .. the kitchen cupboard laminate was hanging off, the freezer was so iced up we couldn’t use it .. not enough cutlery and essentials for the group amount ,not enough outside chairs for downstairs ,and no tables or chairs for the upstairs balcony .. shower was cold and small .. but the main concern for us all was that we could not open the patio doors to get outside !! The maintenance people said it was because there was no handles? Not sure if they’re nails shut ??So we had one door for evacuating the 5 bed 10 guests if there was a fire. Surely this does not meet fire or health In safety regulations?? As I’m sure the wiring and location of the sockets … embedded in the oak flooring certainly should not be allowed .. I would not give it a 5* rating it is not even a 3*.. anyway, it’s overrated, overpriced and a danger to folks and especially children staying there .. we won’t recommend it or be back..
Negative experience: We were there June 2023 was our 3rd time but this time we had the worst experience and won't be back. Our hot tub was filthy, lid was damaged, emergency doors blocked off sauna didn't work, we got shocked 3 times of the cooker we had a leak in the toilet and the facilities were not there also swing park been took away so iv got to say very disappointed with this site
Fantastic experience: Lovely family holiday, sauna, hotub 5 bedroom all ensuite, open plan living upstairs. Only 1 TV in main living area so we took a TV for our bedroom to watch in the evening.
Negative experience: Accommodation was tired, some of the furniture was fit for the bin. No WiFi available in lodges, which is poor for a place charging almost as much as centre parks. Probably good if you are there just to play golf. No hot food delivery to lodges, on site shop a bit of a joke. Very little for kids to do that didn't cost you, not even a swing park. Food at bar was pretty poor and over priced, staff were akin to an antidepressants control group. Would not go back if I won a free week in a competition.
Positive experience: Great service; arrived early but still taken. Made to feel at ease straight away. Pleased with my French manicure as well. Would definitely recommend, thank you Gina x Angela
Negative experience: These are nothing like how they are advertised. (4*) We booked for 5 days. Can't check in until 4 pm. (Standard). But you need to check out at 9.30 am on the last day. Which is extremely early. When we arrived at the cabin, we were disgusted at the state of said cabin. Decor dated, holes in walls, windows dirty. Carpets stained, ripped, and badly fitted. Couches are all ripped. Small fire burner caked in dust. One of the bathroom showers was all chipped. Badly fitted mattresses on beds, very small doubles. The bed sheets were clean but stained. The bottom of the bed base was all dog hair. We went straight down to reception. Staff were understanding. And had the room re- cleaned. They removed the kitchen curtain because, in their words, it was disgusting. Activities - large golf course extremely good. Par 3 course greens are atrocious. Driving range needs a lot of work. Spa is good, according to wife. Golf shop and spa staff were good. The activity barn was good. Staff member who taught the archery and segway was extremely good. Sorry, this was a long-winded message. This isn't a 4*. Certainly, it wasn't worth the money we paid. Very, very disappointing
