Positive experience: Visited here with the autistic lad I work with for an ALN session. They have great size family changing rooms and the small pool is a really good size

Fantastic experience: My son loved it here. He's only 3, so we just used the small pool. It has a jacuzzi like area, and he thought it was hilarious when they turned the bubbles on. He even used the shower afterwards, which he normally refuses to do. The changing room was clean. You can even pick up your recycling bags here.

Fantastic experience: There are 2 pools. A full sized swimming pool and a smaller 10x10m kids pool. The kids' pool has stairs to get in and out. It's about 60 cms deep and has a jacuzzi seat around 1 corner, which both kids and parents love. Both pools have lifeguards on duty. There are tables and chairs around the outside of the pool for parents to sit while kids swim. The pool ratio is 1 to 1 for under 5yrs old, 1 to 2 for 5yrs-8yrs old. 8yrs-15yrs can go in unaccompanied, providing they are competent swimmers. Bring your sunglasses if it's sunny as the pools are in full daylight so it can get bright in full sun. Bronwydd pool also offers parties. You can choose just 1 pool or both pools for a party. The big pool has a big inflatable obstacle course, and the little pool has floats and toys to keep all kids and adults entertained x

Fantastic experience: A small sports centre hidden away, the pool was cool but not cold. In addition to a regular pool it also has a pool for toddlers which is next to the main pool.

Positive experience: Free parking. Good showers and changing rooms. Two pools. One for kiddies. Larger one for adults and older children. Lifeguards by side of pool through out. You have to reach the pool by car from roundabout by Aldi's in Porth. Look for signs.

Positive experience: This swimming pool is busy and we'll used for lessons and water based activities. It is a relatively uninspiring building that is showing its age and it would benefit from modernisation but many people would miss out on activities while it was underway. This building uses Solar panels to reduce its environmental impact.

Positive experience: Previously 5* but now the public pool is open from 12.30 and the kids shallower pool is open from 3.30pm which is unsuitable for me due to work. Why is this? Seems ridiculous that both pools wouldn't be open at the same time

Negative experience: Never answer the phone, or when they do it's to slam down and hang up on me. You may as well unplug the phone or remove it altogether

Positive experience: The centre is kept clean and well disinfected ,staff are helpful But the system for booking falls flat and much to be desired as when people block book swimming and gym and don't bother turning up thus stopping others using the centre,Management and not of the center but higher should be doing a better job and having a better system in place.wake up management start doing your job properly.

Fantastic experience: I love Bronwydd pool and use it often - the staff are friendly and most helpful and choose this pool over Ystrad every time - however I took my great grandson to the baby pool today and he was shivering after 25 mins and asked to come out - normally we have to pull him out screaming because he doesn't want to leave. Although the water temp is fine for me and my husband for a 2 yr old it's not warm enough for them to enjoy the pool experience. I did notice the other day that one mother had her little girl in a wet suit - maybe that's the answer but it's hard enough to dress a wriggle child as it is.

Negative experience: A nice pool but such confusion on opening times. I (as a female) take my 22 year old disabled nephew swimming. The family changing rooms do not have locks and so I have to put a bin in front of them to stop people coming in. This is not good enough. As it is a council run facility then I guess there is no governing body to check over such matters

Fantastic experience: A beautiful pool in an amazing location with a long varied history. Proper pool to swim in and even though it is a tight carpark to park in, there are normally spaces. A few disabled parking spots too.

Negative experience: The pool and gym area is good however one of the staff Jackie discriminated my boyfriend with hearing aids. He didn't her what she said and then she told him to "take out your ear phones and maybe you will hear me". His friend jumped in a corrected her telling her "they are not ear phones they are hearing aids". So she just raised her voice instead of saying sorry. I am discussed with that behavior it not only up set him it ruined his day and we no longer feel safe or happy to go there.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting this little gem. Peaceful clean pool with lovely new changing facilities, parking and the staff are so helpful and friendly.

Positive experience: A small gym but for the price is very good. Has the essential machines that the average person would use. Parking isn’t the best as there aren’t many spaces and always seems to be full. The pools are also quite cheep but always seem to be crowded. The changing rooms are freezing; this seems obvious after getting out of a pool but compared to other leisure centres, this has to the worst. The staff are friendly.

Positive experience: Great pool brilliant small pool for children and a nice main pool if you know how to swim. the only downside is when you do get out of the pool and you go into the changing room areas it is absolutely freezing I know you going to be cold getting out of the pool wet but as soon as you walk into the changing room area they have these fans blowing that make the whole area just freezing cold anyway. Put some heating in as I don't really want to be risking illness everytime I go to the swimming pool because of how cold it is in the shower / changing area not everyone has a really good immune system so for people with low immune systems or people who are at risk of catching illness I would avoid. Other than that brilliant. The only other downside if they don't seem to be able to ban certain people from entering the pool as quite often I would find myself taking my family to go swimming and finding out that the pool is closed and that the reason the pool is closed is because of a certain family (according to the staff that work there) often go there and defecate in the children's swimming pool at that point the staff have to close the pool for 2 days while they sort and clean the pool. The staff see that this family does this quite a lot so I don't see why they don't just ban certain people who do this. This pool is brilliant but I cannot give it 5 Stars until they sort these certain critiques out.

There was a time where the pool, faced closure, lots of people took time to get petitions signed.. and it's still there...

Negative experience: Pool is always too full to use yet they were on about closing it. Ridiculous bad manangement by our council. Raise the prices! Whats the point in having a pool if you cannot swim in it!
