Positive experience: Excellent local facility, tried the swimming pool for the first time, a few weeks ago. The gym is well equipped, and the staff are helpful. Occasionally the toilets break down, but it takes weeks to repair them. This is a well-lit and airy environment, with refreshments available.

Fantastic experience: Great gym and fantastic pool.

Negative experience: Said I have to be 18 to use a free 7 day trial membership that I had got from the quarry and was told I could go here

Fantastic experience: I’m very impressed with this leisure centre. Staff were lovely and helpful. It’s a nice bright place to swim with plenty of space in the changing rooms lots of lockers too.

Negative experience: Very bad experience with them. Worst service. I have been charged several times by mistake and never refunded.. Looks like a scam. They force you into an annual contract.

Positive experience: Been to float session with grandchildren today. Booked in advance informed at desk session was 11.00 -12.00 When there pool cordoned off so only half available with limited floats and a couple of balls! Then they closed pool at 11.45 to erect floats for aquaplay... Not impressed with this. Grandchildren not too happy either. What are we actually paying for?

Positive experience: Good selection of equipment, very clean. I wish it was bigger, some areas feel a little cramped.

Negative experience: Where to begin, having been a member in various forms for over 20 years I have seen a massive deterioration over the last 18 months with regard to both customer care and responses to all and any queries. The lazy and arrogant attitude of the management and a couple of members of staff has to be experienced to be believed, a simple thing like producing a pool timetable that is correct more than once in a week is apparently beyond their abilities and they will be both evasive and actually lie to you when questioned over it. If you dare to vent your frustration you will be met with the standard reply that you are being "aggressive" to dissuade/prevent you from getting any answers (a standard tactic used by the incompetent). As for the pool, personally I don't feel the cold much so that doesn't bother me, what does bother me is that some the pool staff are so lazy that it can be up to 20 minutes before they rearrange pool dividers and take the lane signs down, which is a third of the time available for a swim. Let's return to the timetable, if you pay £6.50 for use of the pool for an hour you expect to have use of the full pool, but with the "swim for all" session that is very rarely the case, in fact you may have swim the "slalem" stroke as half the pool will be cordoned off for some other activity with NO mention of this on either the online timetable or the paper timetable which is only sometimes available. Inconvenient is not a word I'd use to describe driving 7 miles only to find what remains of the pool after division is full of people avoiding colliding with each other. The really laughable bit is that it clearly states that staff training will take place twice during the month on a tuesday morning from 7-9. Staff training actually takes place at random times and only during "swim for all" sessions as at 15:00 on 27/06/24. Half the pool shut and I was informed by a staff member that he was sorry but it was a last minute thing, out of curiosity I asked the pool staff being trained when it was arranged? Well over 2 weeks previously was the reply. You couldn't make it up, utter and total incompetence on every level. The place is run for staff conventence not to cater for customer.

Negative experience: Never a single machine free. Too busy

Negative experience: I set up a member ship with this gym and was told I could cancel whenever I wanted (I was only in the area for 2 months) so I paid the expensive joining fee plus 2 months of membership, during the second month I called up and cancelled my membership with someone on the reception desk. The following month in February, I had a phone call from them saying I owed them money to which I said I cancelled and hung up the phone as I believed it was a scam. (They were asking for payment over the phone). Another month goes by and then they send an independent debt collecting company after me! Despite providing all the evidence that I hadn’t used the gym outside of the paid 2 months and the phone call cancelling, they were still harassing me, I paid the £60 I allegedly owed and blocked their numbers just to be done with it all. Do not recommend this leisure centre at all.

Positive experience: Great facilities! Plenty of parking, great swimming lessons for little ones. Downsides: - Having to pay 20p for the hairdryers (which take forever to actually dry your hair) - 20p for lockers which it doesn't return... can be a pain when visiting with kids and having to return to the locker - would be much better with lockers that give you the money back - Lack of cubical showers in the pool changing room

Positive experience: Good facilities. Swimming lessons seem really good. Absolute nightmare getting hold of them to book onto them though.

Negative experience: If you are bringing your little ones here for a swim in the small pool be warned. Its rarely warm. The thermometer vanished from pool side at the back end of last year, since then the baby pool is quite often freezing. You complain but nothing happens, you might hit it lucky and find its a little warmer one day but more often than not its so cold. My little one won't go in the pool any more as she shivers. Manager doesn't give a hoot and neither do most of the staff. Just save yourself the trouble and avoid. Such a shame as up until the colder months it was fine, I guess the cost of heating has hit home and they don't want to pay the energy bill. No good for children who need a nice warm pool. Not really what you want as your child's first experiences with water/swimming. EDIT - RESPONSE TO REPLY: We (and other parents) have been complaining about this issue for months (Since at least October/November 2023). The pool might be warm one in four of the Monday lessons we attend. Even when we have attended outside of lesson time the pool has been freezing and we have complained to pool side staff who have no interest, we then complain to reception upon leaving and again no interest. We even phoned before coming on one occasion as our daughter is so scared of getting in the freezing water due to the temperature, the person on the phone told us (in a cold tone, must be something with the place) 'the pool is fine there is nothing wrong with the heating and there never was'. Customer service lacking. If there truly is an issue with the heating then I fail to see why after 3 months it hasn't been rectified.

Fantastic experience: Travelled from Shrewsbury to use this facility due to the very poor conditions of our local baths. My wife and I were extremely impressed. Very clean and comfortable surroundings. Great swim

Fantastic experience: I am a regular at the leisure centre and love the facilities well equipped Gym with friendly knowledgeable people. and the classes are great! I just love Zumba! Amanda is incredible and makes the classes fun. Just needs another Nia class as I can rarely attend because of the times

Positive experience: We took the baby swimming, he liked it. The water was warm. Changing rooms are ok. They satisfy do s good roller disco on a Saturday, but beware of lethal toddlers on scooters, it's a shame they are allowed to participate as they are dangerous

Fantastic experience: Good value monthly membership, can combine gym use, fitness classes and swimming. It's possible to save your membership fee in 1 week of dedication. Not so useful for kids as age restrictions apply (which needs revisions) but they are eligible for a well priced 3 month membership

Fantastic experience: Brilliant experience. Me and my 4 year old went to the fun and floats session, it was great fun and not overly busy. The Lifeguards are on patrol so you feel very safe and the receptionist was very helpful and happy. Just a good experience.. Money well spent!

Negative experience: Tried to use baby/toddler pool facilities. Phoned first thing and was told by reception that it was open from 12-5pm. Got there to find out it was actually only open from 12-2pm. They refused to admit their error despite me saying you verbally confirmed this on the phone to me. When you've got a crying toddler that you're trying to deal with, these things do actually matter. Wouldn't bother with them now.

They never answer the phone, email inquiries are being returned at least two weeks later and they don't even read what you have requested and take your money either way. Receptionist can never help you, because every time very conveniently her computer brakes when you speak to her. Swimming lessons are a joke and no flexibility is being offered at all. Wish I had never signed up with them

Fantastic experience: This leisure centre is a perfect example from the outside of modern day architectural brilliance. With a mixture of straight lines combined with long beautiful curves. The facilities are all up to date well maintained and clean. I've not seen it extremely busy, l don't do crowds. Staff are all pleasantly helpful and accommodating. I can only recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Great for childrens swimming lessons, swaimming teacher Gemma is fantastic, Curly and co too . Love that parking is free and easy to park. Reasonable prices. Sad level 7 has reduced to only 30 minutes now, and it is annoying when inconsiderate people leave their clothes in cubicles, instead of lockers when swimming, meaning my kids have no where to change. Curly is easy to contact via email if concerns with swimming lessons. Covid guidelines were good and all staff professional. 5 * :) big thank you to the team.

Fantastic experience: I Didn't use the gym but the pool was really nice. Not too busy, perfect temperature and theres a small, shallow pool for toddlers. The main this for me was that the pool and changing cubicles were clean

Positive experience: Always quiet whenever I swim. Straightforward visit, friendly staff, no real complaints. The changing rooms and showers are starting to look a little tired in places. Some maintenance needed.

Positive experience: Hummm. An hour less on the badminton court post pandemic, but still costs £5. One of the more expensive centres I have been to. Courts not swept clean very often. Nets and posts not set up properly. Badminton not one of centres priority users as does not bring in the revenue. Swimming, ladies changing cubicles non existent. 2 only. I like my privacy, none here. Great for screaming kids though. Gym, not used. Cafe OK for snack and watching the kids sinking in the pool. If your in a wheelchair or disabled, warning, the lift is often out of action for weeks and there are around 32 steps to access reception. So you don't need a gym to exercise!! Saves me a fortune.

Positive experience: Difficulties actually getting into contact with anyone. Registered online 2 weeks ago and my account is still pending meaning I can't make any bookings. Due to the current situation I don't want to just turn up at the centre. Tried calling multiple times with no one answering. Ended up messaging their facebook profile and found someone who could fix the issue. Centre and staff are both great, was just difficult to get in contact with anyone.

Negative experience: Would be a fabulous venue, sadly the disabled toilets and baby changing facilities are either locked or not in use. Completely impractical to have only poolside cubical toilet facilities open for use. If for example you have a baby, you have to use the toilet on the poolside with the door open, in full view of the swimmers, or leave the baby outside alone. This makes it only have one star rating.
