Negative experience: Wow… visited with children for a child’s birthday pool party and the lifeguard stopped all children from going beyond the half way point on the inflatable. We’ve been to two other pool parties here in the last few months and not had this issue before. I didn’t complain though, I merely pointed out my child was a competent swimmer. But while she was off swimming, the lifeguard seemed intent to want to argue and within seconds the lifeguard was calling for the manger to come and have a word with me - a bit overkill for saying ‘she can swim!’ The manager did come and have a chat (he seemed a little embarrassed when I said I’d not complained) and he was very professional unlike the lifeguard. Apparently it’s at the discretion of the duty lifeguard and all children need to have a 50m badge to use the full inflatable. Unfortunately we don’t tend to carry that with us to the swimming pool! I appreciate its risk management and not all children are likely to be able to swim that distance but parents are required to be in the water to supervise and they tend to know their children’s ability; whether or not you pull your 50m badge out seems a little irrelevant (especially if an overzealous lifeguard is going to take matters into their own hands anyway!) To avoid the ambiguity and inconsistency it’d be worth considering a smaller inflatable so all children can use all of the inflatable. We were considering booking here for two parties next year but we'll now look elsewhere. It’s a shame because the children enjoyed previous parties but I can’t explain why they’re OK to use the inflatable at one party but not another.

Fantastic experience: Great little centre with lots of activities for kids and their parents, family membership makes it manageable for families. Staff are friendly and do a good job especially through the summer holidays, can't say enough about it really and it's local.

Negative experience: £6 for soft play, on a budget you'd have to choose between kids playing or food to feed them whilst here. Receptionist extremely rude

Negative experience: Would leave a 0 star review if I could. We visited as we are down to see family for holidays. / reception staff incredibly rude! Showers too hot for children! Smells of wee in changing rooms! Reception staff talking down to me in front of customers for simply reading the pool timetable wrong so we couldn’t swim. Made me pay for a locker lock even tho we are only here for a week! Vending machines don’t work properly . Soft play has one slide is absolutely tiny had to pay for a full session and we only stayed for 10 minutes. Will never visit here again.

Fantastic experience: Really nice local facility, always been nice and friendly, clean and everything well serviced. We use everything from the kids play area to the very cost effective kids swimming with the inflatables. Value for money & nice to be local. Family membership is fantastic value for money as we’re a family of 5. Gives you loads to do over the summer holidays including kids clubs and full gym memberships.

Negative experience: Pool is nice and warm for little ones however let down by the awful strong stench of urine in the changing rooms, it’s very off putting for members of the public paying monthly fees to come. This is an issue that really needs looking at as it makes you feel disgusting getting changed and smelling that. Also the showers aren’t suitable for little ones, very hot.

Fantastic experience: The. Arc Go Active was lovely. Beautiful if yr a swimmer. We went to the over 50’s club. My husband has Alzheimer’s and I’m exploring different classes that are suitable for him. We played table tennis which he enjoyed but he’s never been a sportsman. If you enjoy badminton you would love this group.

Positive experience: The family fun sessions with floats are great fun, especially when the flume is working. The showers are not the best.

Negative experience: Lovely facilities, lovely management, majorly let down by one member of staff. Lady on reception (dark hair, late 20s/early 30s).. shouted at me very rudely for my toddler running into the soft play (despite my immediate apology), then criticised me rudely when my toddler climbed on the table (again I had instantly apologised). I then politely asked, due to health and safety concerns, that they could close the gate to the kitchen area-which contains boiling appliances-the dark haired lady rudely told me "well you could be supervising your children".. I wonder if their insurance agrees this gate ought be left open? The rude member of staff, who made me feel personally attacked (other parents also said they'd had issues with her rudeness) refused to give me her name when asked, instead attempting to get a manager to confirm her apparent belief that children ought be seen but not heard

Positive experience: Please change the radio station in the changing rooms to something better. It's very annoying. Just play good, classic tunes.

Negative experience: The swimming teacher on reception was awful to me this morning surely her role is not on reception .Tried to show me up but she was unsuccesful .Not helpful or friendly be wary.

Fantastic experience: My local gym i love it I go gym swim then steam and sauna

Fantastic experience: Great gym, well specced and equipped. At peak times it does get busy but not overly so. No issues with people there, all friendly and no one trying to make others feel uncomfortable, etc Will be renewing my membership in April. Using Don, one of their personal trainers, very good and knowledgeable, would recommend him if anyone is looking for a PT in the area.

Positive experience: Recently started swimming lessons with my 2 year old and he's really enjoying it, the staff are great and understanding on days he's not feeling like it. Unfortunately there are negatives, the main one being that the changing rooms stink of urine! It makes me feel dirty standing on the floor with bare feet, second guessing whether it's water or wee on the floor and I've never known this at any other pool. Also the tiles in the changing room are always covered with water which although I understand given we have to come from pool to change, are slippy, especially for my son.

Positive experience: Great place for swimming - kids pool is warm - the slide is great and the bigger pool isn’t super cold but it isn’t warm! Last time we went it did have the showers out of order which wasn’t great as only had 2 disabled shower that could be used.

Negative experience: The changing room in swimming pool area smells of urine so bad. Never been in a place that stinks like this before ! ( and been to many swimming pools in UK and Europe)

Negative experience: Bullying is common at the kids holiday/half term clubs and staff do not listen or care. Disgraceful.

Fantastic experience: I visit the wellness hub to help overcome injuries. It is working out great. The aqua fit classes are mega fun and I get lots of calories burned off without hurting my feet or knees.

Positive experience: Reception staff either want to help or don’t everything seems to much effort sometimes. Vending machine timed out & kept our money, told reception but no one offered any help.

Negative experience: Alright facilitys but horrible reception staff, the woman accused us of theft after a miss understanding and continued to be rude to us after apologising even though we nothing wrong. Wont be returning because now i feel uncomfortable bieng here.

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere in the gym, everyone minding their own business but also courteous of others. Lots of different classes for all ages. Never had a problem with the any of the facilities or staff.

Negative experience: The staff here relating to swimming should get their rules in line when it comes to not going in deep end when the minimum specifications are reached, is it one length or two lengths capability but then to still deny access to deepend after 2 lengths contradicted another member of staff previous week !!!

Fantastic experience: I recently started going to THe Arc. . We have been 6 times in the past month . I have to say ,,the staff are amazing . On reception are 2 Ladies . One is called Rachel and I’m not sure of the second lady who has straight dark hair . Both very welcoming , helpful and friendly with my little boy who was nervous . When I the water There was a lifeguard who was firm in making sure the rules were followed ensuring safety for all . I spoke to her and thanked her at the end of the swim session . Her name is Caitlin . She made sure no one a little older messing in the small kids pool. Fantastic staff . The changing room are very clean and plenty of cubicles and lockers . They Could do with more options with the slide and small pool being open . That is the only negative point .

Positive experience: Took grandkids for a flume session only to be told when we were in the pool that we couldn’t use the flume. Why advertise it as a flume session then just chuck a few inflatables in very disappointed grandkids

Negative experience: Got turned away from gym with my son. Was not told that under 16 was not allowed in gym when i signed up for family membership. We had been in gym multiple times prior to this. Also lots of kids going in thermal suite for free. Dont see the center stopping those. Will be canceling membership in the next few days. Will take my business else where. What a way to get young people interested in fitness!

Positive experience: I only went to the swimming. The entrance area has seating for the cafe which you can sit at and see the swimming pool. The swimming pool is a great size, but not all of it is open every day, so check.

Fantastic experience: Our son has swimming lessons and we family swim here + Saturday morning football matches when available. Recommended. Food in cafe is nice too

Positive experience: Use it 5 days a week, gym, swim and classes. Good variety 8f classes, staff helpful and friendly, I love the place personally.

Negative experience: Went to the yoga class - never seen anything like it. Looked liked he was making it up as he went along. Looked like he had had no training and the class was exactly the same as a few months previous. The music was so loud - at a yoga class I found this weird. The virtual classes are out of date - they show old classes on repeat .

Positive experience: The football for my grandson was as good as it gets, full AstroTurf. Sad to say no win but 4><4 draw so I'm told a good game. "For info I'm not a sporting fan". Re cafe it was a bit disappointing, carrying 3 hot drinks that the cups were to soft to hold lids on with hot liquid. Better ones available.

Positive experience: Clean. The buttons on the toilet to flush in the changing rooms are extremely hard to press.

Fantastic experience: Excellent for disabled, two full changing rooms with hoist and changing bed, shower, toilet etc, lots of room, then two chairs for entering the pool using the poolside pod which lowers into the pool. Staff very helpful.

Fantastic experience: Great sessions with the slide and the inflatable aquafun with very good prices - just £2 for a session of 1 hour. The cafe is great too. 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: Swimming lessons are great, although if can take a while to move through the level as the swim stroke needs to meet the standard. The gym is great too. The place is clean and they adhere to social distancing, staff very friendly and helpful

Negative experience: The cash machine to pay your council is not user friendly. I always have problems with it now. Before they changed software it was working fine.

Fantastic experience: It is managed very well and I feel very much at ease when I visit.
