Negative experience: I found 3 of the 8 machines I wanted to use faulty. A staff commented I cam walk so I don't need disabled access because other people walk in after. To top it off a male staff member entered to mop a spill and did not knock or ask if everyone was decent for him to enter. Really disappointed. I strongly recommend management to come visit the branch to see if they are happy with their standard.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym, good range of equipment from Resistance machines to free weights and benches, cardio and functional training equipment, and good space throughout so it never feels cramped. The staff are all very pleasant and friendly and look to offer great PT sessions from what I've seen, especially the man from Pure Gym who has always offered exceptional service to the members and with boxing training incorporated into sessions, overall a great gym with a good friendly atmosphere.
Negative experience: Standing out side because my pin is not working and I press green button for help no one come

Negative experience: Nov 2nd. 2024. 3 women in hijabs in the gym today.... Leaving at 1915hrs. Didn't bother bringing a towel in but use the tissues in the gym instead... Which is fine... But then one of them leaves them on the side after use instead of putting in the bin next to them.... Even when I reminded her she ignored me... It's scummy people like this that then complain that the gym is a tip.... Which it is to be fair...... I've never seen anyone cleaning in this gym... Never used the showers here...and i don't intent to...

Negative experience: Staff seem okay but seems like something is always broken. The lift has been out of order for months now making it almost impossible for anyone disabled to access anywhere except the ground floor. I have flagged this as queried if they were going to atleast compensate the members until fixed or refund the months paid while broken. The guy seems okay and helpful took my number but now been a few weeks and heard nothing back again. Seems impossible to contact the head office too. Quite frankly pretty disappointing.
Hi, we will be fixing the lift and members will be able to use this with assistance from a member of staff. This way the lift will not be going out of order due to missuse.

Fantastic experience: Big gym, has 3 floors, operates 24hrs, well equipped with all sorts of equipment, has a sauna, showers, lockers and broken down equipment doesn't take long to get fixed. I definitely recommend!! I have attached a pic of a single floor for ref. U earned my five star!

Negative experience: Gym equipment very often out or order for periods of time of well over a month. It has no ac or lack of upstairs so top two floors are extremely humid and smelly. You feel very suffocated and faint. There is not enough equipment to accommodate busy periods and you are left waiting around for 15mins plus or better yet having to just leave. When I’ve tried to cancel my membership Przemyslaw Drabik Assistant Manager has been absolutely terrible at email response and has resulted in my paying almost £100 towards a membership I no longer want or use. They have no contact number and despite being asked to be contacted though phone call because of the extremely poor email response time they have not done so resulting in me still not being able to cancel my membership.
Hi, regarding the out of order kit we have not had anything out of order for a while and we have had massive investments bringing in more kit to make sure even during the busiest time period there is plenty of kit for people to use. We have recently this year had brand new AC installed on our top floor and will soon be replacing our middle floor AC too. When cancelling your membership there is a 30 day notice period as per our T&Cs. We received your cancellation request at the end of September and processed this.
Fantastic experience: I was assisted by Molley today, and wow she assisted me perfectly. She helped by cleaning the equipment I was about to use and checked it was all ok. Couldn’t fault her. 5 stars
Negative experience: I got a ticket for parking from Tesco when i was in the gym and i was told by the management that they will clear it, 4 months later i got a reminder for the same ticket, Nothing was done and the ticket increased after 4 months, I went back to the management and i was told i should pay the fine that there is nothing they can do. I have to pay it with the interest.
Hi thanks for your message, we have spoken to the parking enforcement company who have agreed to only charge the £40 rather than the increased rate. Negative experience: Malfunction from 2nd/3rd floor air conditioning is beyond a joke. They are not being considerate and won’t fix it after numerous complaints. Due to this, being a consistent issue I have decided to leave a gym I have been with for 4 years
Hi, we have recently had a whole new system installed on our top floor so the temperature is constantly regulated. Regarding the middle floor it has recently been a little warmer then usual and we have scheduled an engineer to come out and fix this asap
Negative experience: Been going to this gym for the last 4 months it started out really good with good facilities I don’t go to the gym until half 10 or later on a night because of time I finish work when I go there is no staff on you have to type a code in to get into the gym quite a few times I’ve been and my code wouldn’t let me in I told the gym and they asked me if someone was exiting and I said no and also asked if I typed my code in to fast as that could be the problem I also said that I didn’t and I only go to the gym once a day so it wouldn’t be that I’ve been their twice in one day all in all go to the gym to work out and sometimes the system will glitch and you won’t be able to get in I knew a couple of other people this has happened to at this gym also turned up today to once again tell them about the problem and the guy I spoke to didn’t really care and was just thinking of excuses to why I couldn’t get in told him I wanted a refund as I’m going to change gym as my Membership for the month has only just started also refused to give me a refund avoid going to this gym at all costs! I would like to speak to a manager because this isn’t good enough if I do not receive a refund because what I have been paying for an not gaining entry when I want, I will be contacting trading standards contact me by my email thanks
Hi Jamie, I have seen your account and it looks like the code was repeatedly put in to our system too quickly. To stop this please only enter your pin once. I have since tested your pin and it is up and working. Very soon we will be changing our system over to a QR code instead of a pin code. This will make sure this glitch will not occur. We are unable to issue a refund as we can see you have used the gym everyday.

Negative experience: The gym itself, facilities wise is fine. Good cardio area downstairs while there is a large weights section upstairs. Staff are also friendly and helpful. But the lockers in the mens area are a disgrace. Look how many broken ones there are. Come on guys get them fixed. It's not a good look.

Negative experience: Worst gym i have seen in my life toilets are blocked, fungus in sauna , fungus on the bath walls edges, lockers are broken, so many problems, you cant go toilet there, you cant take shower. Nobody listens they just dont care. If anybody needs any new diseases go there. You definitely will get 2-3.
Hi, We have high standards for our gym and will be actioning the points you have made. Regarding the broken lockers, we have banned multiple members who have vandalised the lockers. Our cleaners are highly trained and we are increasing the hours worked to make sure the changing rooms are kept clean and tidy. We have a plumber coming on Monday as we are aware of the toilets occasionally getting blocked, however they are still available to use and the showers are fully operational.
Fantastic experience: She goes an extra mile cleaning the machines been coming her for 2 years now and Molley has so far been the greatest cleaner all the machines are spotless and the gym has got a new feel to it due to Molley the GOAT CLEANER!!!!!

Positive experience: I just recently started going to this gym, and thought it was pretty decent. The female changing room is always clean and has no awful odour, which is really good. Yesterday I went to the gym with friends and majority of our pins were not working, despite the fact that most of us had a monthly membership, and the others purchased day passes and there was no one at the reception. Several people came in and went to find staff, they came back saying there was no staff in the building which I thought was quite odd. According to them, this seemed like a regular occurrence. I had to purchase a day pass just to get in. After my workout, I noticed someone in the office and called for their attention, the person looked at me, ignored me and continued eating(RUDEEEE). He then proceeded to come out and walk past me, and go back into the office. Like if he isn’t a staff what is he’s doing in the reception offices or he could at least say something. In summary, the gym needs to work on their customer service and have at least one staff in the building incase someone can’t get in or an emergency occurs or else my friends and I would find a more suitable gym.

Negative experience: Just left JD gyms and swapped over to NRG, worst decision ever, no staff, dirty, broken equipment and entry codes not working. Then, it tipped it over the edge when I tried to use the sauna, faintly warm at best, I don't know if it's on a low setting or they just rarely switch it on for longer than 5 mins, it's a bit of let down when the membership costs more than average and you expect the facilities that are advertised to be working. Staff and management need to work on fixing the sauna asap. It's a selling point for the gym as it is stated there are sauna facilities on the website and on the social media posts but yet it doesn't work. I will be going back to JD gym asap if this doesn't get sorted out before the cancellation cool off period ends. Also, I was already having issues gaining access to the gym with my code as the gym were randomly blocking people's accounts :/ this was a big problem as I work nights and need to use the gym during unsociable hours when there are no staff in the gym to let me in. Apparently there are lots of complaints and never any management or anybody reading these reviews who are willing to do anything about it. It's seem they prefer to argue against the 100's of bad reviews and try hide them by bribing members with free gifts to give a false 5 star review. Absolutely shocking behaviour and I will definitely be reporting this gym to an ombudsman or an official regulatory body to address this matter if it doesn't get resolved withing the company.

Fantastic experience: Joining NRG Gym has been a fantastic decision. The standout for me has been Nafeesa, whose friendly and helpful demeanor makes every visit enjoyable. She goes above and beyond to assist with any questions or concerns, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for all members. She also offers personal training for women, which I will be looking into soon. The recent upgrade to NRG Gym’s equipment is impressive. The new machines are top-notch, catering to all fitness levels and making workouts both efficient and enjoyable. From the latest cardio machines to the advanced weightlifting stations, the state-of-the-art equipment has significantly improved my workout routine. so happy with the new smith machine and other hammer strength additions. The gym is always clean and well-organised, with plenty of space to exercise comfortably. I never have to wait long for a machine, and there are always new options to keep my routine fresh and engaging. Overall, NRG Gym offers an exceptional fitness experience. With Nafeesa’s outstanding customer service and the excellent new equipment, I feel motivated and supported every time I visit. Negative experience: If you are thinking about joining this Gym in the near feature, DO NOT BOTHER. Been a member here since Dec 2023. Here is what they DON'T tell you on their website: - If you need to use a locker in the Men’s locker room, GOOD LUCK. All the lockers pad locked by the management and they unlock them when they feel like turning up to work. Managers decided it was a good idea to penalise all members because some members decided to damage the lockers. WHERE IS THE RATIONALE? - When the doors or your access code is not working, turn around and go home because there is no way you are getting in unless you wait hours for management to turn up and let you in. The intercom system is a JOKE no one on the other side. - Machines broken for long periods of time and management not interested in dealing with it. Try to speak to manager and they are too busy attending to their personal clients. -They advertise Sauna’s, what you get is wooden box with halogen heaters, hardly ever switched on barely gets over 40C. - No managers at this site, what you get is PT’s turning up because of a rent offset arrangement. No interest in doing any real meaningful work for the gym. Try to speak to the staff and get told “I don’t know I Just come for my shift” To the Directors listed on Companies House: Shafiq Ahmed, Steven Kenee, Alexander Rupert West, - You seriously need to employ real managers at your gym instead of having PT’s who are only there for their own benefit, this might work for general staff but not for management. - Facilities need attention, sort out the sauna and equipment. 18/8/2024 - Still DO NOT recommend you join this gym. Nothing has changed about this Gym - went there today and could not get it. Pressed the assistance button and waited for almost 30 mins before i gave up and returned home. Twice this week - unable the facilities that they charge for. LET DOWN!!!

Negative experience: Decently priced gym but comes with its issues: * Equipment out of order for prolonged periods of time * Members not putting weights back (NRG tried to implement a system to reduce this happening, but seems they’ve given up) * only 2 stair climbers which are often taken * The chest press machine is far too close to a weights rack, dangerously close. A lot of the equipment is too close together despite a spacious gym floor. * Vacuumed a lot but no dusting or cleaning of mirrors it seems, it’s filthy. Disregard most of the 5* reviews as there was an incentive to provide 5* reviews for a protein shake bottle earlier this year.
Negative experience: Been trying to cancel my membership as I'm still in my 14 days cool off period. Sent two emails with no response. Sent a message to their Facebook page with no response and can't even phone through on the number provided. Quick to take our money but drag their feet when trying to get a refund
Negative experience: Advertises on the website that it includes sauna, but hasnt worked in 6-8 months. Everyone who asks staff about it is just chinned off.
Positive experience: The staff are friendly, but the gym requires some renovations. Many of the essential machines are broken, and the third floor has an unpleasant odor and lacks air conditioning. Update : the gym has listened to my issues stated and has added air conditioning and new equipment, however the cables on the second floor are almost always broken.
Hi, We are glad you like our staff, we are currently in works with improving more areas of the gym! We have had a lot of new kit recently delivered with more on its way. New male changing rooms and a redecoration of the gym.
Negative experience: Some of these machines have been broken for over a month (4 out of 6 cables broken on middle floor) +, and even if they do work the cables on some have friction, are janky and have resistance where they shouldnt The gym has has poor standards of maintainance since the change in managements AC on top floor still not working too
Negative experience: Where do I start -Leg machines done work -Back machine broken for months - treadmills broke for months -Only 2 stair masters and 1 works and it make a loud clicking noise -Upstairs air con never works no fans to compensate it’s so hot -Parking machines to validate inside gym always out of service -Free weights always a mess - Dust EVERYWHERE - upstairs weights area machines too close together prone to accidents - Cable machine always broken -Lift always out of service Staff never have a clue what’s going on with repairs when promoted -All PTs leaving due to bad conditions -No where online to LEAVE A COMPLAINT The gym is a mess AVOID all good reviews aren’t real ******* RESPONSE ******* Ok if the pictures are dated I will go around today and take the same pictures with a phone next to it demonstrating the date and time. I was in the gym yesterday and every single picture was taken on the 12th June. The only picture that was approx 4 weeks old is the car parking one. As on and off the machine isn’t working I did my entire work out yesterday in utter silence due to there being no music I was on the top floor and I was so hot we all had to open the fire exit door and stick a weight there (unsafe in a fire) That treadmill along with others has not been working for months yet you say you’ve voluntarily turned it off hmmmmm and stair masters broken FOR MONTHS and I have continuously complained Leg extension machine hasn’t been working FOR MONTHS. I tried to get to the weights and as u can see the chest machine is in the way and I banged my head. These pictures are far from dated darling and all previous reviews say exactly the same you try and bribe us with energy drinks for a good review when people have put 5 stars but written what they really think The gym is a mess. Even the entrance pods make a funny noise when u enter literally everything needs servicing and sorting out. Bike machines in the spin room a lot are broken too. All you’ve done is renovate the make changing rooms and incorporated a new back machine on the top floor but left the old broken one there!!! We will all keep writing bad reviews until you sort these issues you are not providing a gym for the community you are in this for profit clearly and we have to be robbed of our money in the process. There are hardly any freelance PTs on site because they have all left. This gym will be closed soon
Good afternoon Vee and thanks for your detailed review. I'm sure as you are aware your pictures are quite dated now and from across different dates! NRG Gym have invested in a number of projects at the site over the past months significantly, the improvements to the male changing room with its brand new look and feel I'm sure you would agree are a welcome benefit, plus the brand new AC units being installed on the top floor currently which should be fully operational in the matter of days. (Your picture highlighting how new they are) Additionally decorators have been giving the gym a brand new look, and modernisation these works are underway and many of our members have been very positive with these changes. The car park machine has been operational for some time with a slight blimp 2 months ago with a connection issue but our staff made every effort to support the members parking in Tesco. We have made the decision to take the lift out of action for now and we can override this should we need too if we have an elderly member or someone who may require it this will avoid the missus we have experienced recently. We are in a gym environment and really only want to use the lift for disabled and elderly should they struggle with the stairs. Our staff over the past 5 months have been brilliant and the gym is looking to recruit more great staff but since the new management back in October things have been much stronger and the gym has also got some additional Life Fitness kit arriving very soon to boost what is already and great facility for the community. I also believe the treadmill you have pictured was switched off as all treadmills are fully operational. And we do tend to update member of kit non operational with a polite notice keeping you informed. Please do approach the Management and ask for updates to avoid using such platforms as we are here to help the community and our members enjoy the experience, some of the fabricated comments should not be on here so like I said please do talk to us on site. Negative experience: Pin not working! First visit to the gym but the pin number never worked! Waited for help but no one at gym to help!!! Very annoying and frustrating as I was looking forward to working out after building up to attending the gym after a very long time!

Negative experience: Do not trust the 5 star reviews, the majority of these were given in exchange for a free waterbottle/bag or by those that regularly attend the classes. I've been a member of this gym since it first opened as sweat around 8 years ago and since NRG took over its gone downhill fast. When NRG took over it initially looked super promising with loads of new kit coming in and loads of staff. Everything began going down hill when their cleaning standards slipped and along with it the equipment maintenance. You will often see staff vacuuming or dusting the bases of equipment yet doing nothing about the disgusting mirrors, stains, gum and spillages all over each floor. When I say there is zero equipment maintenance I'm not exaggerating, it's very much the case of wait until somethings totally bollocksed, bodge it for a couple of weeks then leave it beyond repair for weeks and months at a time. The rules of the gym are a joke, by the vending machines you'll find a list of rules, none of these rules are enforced. There's a rule that you must have written permission to use cameras yet you'll see some of NRGS own staff on days off filming with tripodsalkng with countless members, there's a rule stating no workwear, sliders, or inappropriate clothing yet you'll see kids in school uniform(alegedly no kids allowed even though some are clearly under age), builders in timberlands and cargos and people in floor length coverings and dresses. There's also the rule that you must re rack plates and replace dumbells, they enforced this for maybe 2 weeks then gave up and it's literally the same culprits every ti.e so wouldn't be hard to sort out I would happily pay much more a month If any of the rules were enforced equipment was maintained/repaired and the cleaning was done properly yet instead you're using money to repaint walls black that didn't need it ?? The only thing keeping me at the gym is the location being ideal for me. I would love to see it change around and like I say would happily pay more, but I just don't see it happening any time soon which is a shame

In response to your points raised the gym team are consistently reinforcing the rules, at Peak times the management team are on the gym floor ensuring members replace weights, wear the correct attire and behave in the way we expect. We have also banned a lot of members recently who fail to follow our T&Cs, as we want the best training environment for our NRG Tribe. NRG gym have been investing heavily over the past few months with brand new male changing rooms, new kit recently add and more shortly arriving in the Summer. Im sure you have also seen the improvements made to the decor around the gym also. As we are a 24 hours gym from time to time members will mistreat the facilities and we do review CCTV footage to establish who the offenders are and subsequently remove them from the gym. Negative experience: This gym is getting worse and worse every day, the dirty eat you alive, you can’t even look yourself in the mirror so is dirty. Equipment broken, dumbbells missing on the top floor you need to go and look for them all over the gym! Employees always sitting open legs in the office with the door open. Does shafiq check his gym at least? The previous management was much better
Fantastic experience: I joined the gym start of this month paying an upfront fee, to my disappointment on arrival the showers and locker room was undergoing a renovation which was not mentioned anywhere on the website or upon sign up. Very frustrated I contacted NRG Gym management asking for a full refund and membership cancellation. I was contacted by Przemyslaw who was the utmost professional, immediately arranged my refund and apologized as well as answering all my other queries. It's just a shame as I visit the gym in mornings before heading to work so require showering facilities - however once this gym is back up and running with showering facilities I will attempt to join again simply because of the great service provided by Przemyslaw a true gent and credit to NRG gym. UPDATE: Being a member now for over two months I thought it best to come back and give some feedback to potential new members. The gym is a great layout with plenty of equipment, a few machines are out of use ever since joining wish these could be resolved. The sauna is pointless, it’s never hot enough and the hottest I’ve seen was probably 35 degrees in fact the showers are hotter than the sauna, the temperature on these could definitely be a little cooler. Lockers were recently smashed and ruined by some yobs, unfortunately the gym decided to reduce the opening hours of the locker room however thankfully not yet enforced - wish they would rather focus on removing these individuals from the gym. Apart from the sauna, showers and lockers the actual gym has good facilities and only negative would be the number of broken machines.

Negative experience: Aweful gym with high staff turnover, nothing is cleaned or oragnised the dumbbell rack has had dumbbells stuck under it for years which the staff clearly dont care about, most of them spend their time trying to talk to girls The ac on the top floor is a genuine safety hazard, if you look at some reviews they clearly have had this issue for years now Machine and cables always broken, even if they do work some have shoddy cables so the resistance is aweful They say they dont coerce 5 star rveiewa but they legitimately do give out a "free" nrg shaker or bag on showing them you left a 5 star review, so yes incredibly rotten In fact have a look in choronological order and you will see they try to review bomb good reviews when multiple 1 star ones show up to push them down All in all, aweful management and a health and safety hazard which may need the councils intervention if they dont fix soon

THEY EXCHANGE FREE GIFTS FOR 5 STAR REVIEWS HENCE THEIR FALSE 4.5 RATING I'm not sure how they have 4.5 stars when everyone I speak to moans about the gym? OH JUST READ ANOTHER REVIEW WHICH HAS ANSWERED MY QUESTION. Equipment always broken, exercise studio door has been broken for months according to staff member. P.T Staff members paid £70-90 for a month's work due to the rent they have to pay deducted from wage caused by th poor standards in the gym, why would anyone want to pay £20-40 per session in a grimy bust up gym. Instructors don't turn up to teach classes, classes cancelled within an hour of start time, cancelled classes due to an instructor fasting but the same instructor can be seen waving his arms around and chatting to friends despite stating he doesnt have any energy to talk you through an exercise class, I am tolerant to others but this is clear lunacy, gym is a little grubby, the management schedule their rota for their personal needs rather than for the needs of the business with 2 managers in at the same time 9-5 approx and then one staff member in for the entire gym and that staff member is designated to teach a class meaning constant class interruptions when the morning class actually runs, gym goers called bullies who complain about poor standards and a team of staff who know they are working at a substandard level but dont seem to care. The gym won't even bother to provide a rope or something to section off the yard area to prevent constant class interruptions. The only gem in that gym is a PT called Dylan who is like a gym angel with a halo as he seems to be the only staff member who is punctual, cares about the members health and provides decent classes, all with a smile. Nafeesa is pretty good too but to a lesser level as she doesnt bother to stretch off gym goers class attendees but puts on a decent class. I've not been a member long and I am withholding payment due to these terrible standards. Back to simply gym which is an amazing gym I only left to save 5 mins driving each way as I'm often in walsall town. I actually was walking out of the gym and I saw an old gym buddy outside the entrance who laughed at me for being an nrg attendee and said " what the hell are you going there for, everyone knows its not the one." The good thing is teamed with attending Dylan class and going to another gym when I realised that NRG couldn't fulfil my basic needs eg. Put classes on when you say you will, provide some cleaning spray for members to wipe down sweaty equipment in studio, provide clean water that is filtered properly and doesnt taste rank, provide a boxing class that caters to all levels so attendees above novice level can be stimulated also, stop focusing on threatening white board signs upon entry about fines and member suspension for not putting weights back properly when you are doing so so so many things wrong. How can you judge the members keeping you in business when the service you provide is so sub standard. I could keep going about whispers of a pervy gym instructor and other things but as I haven't been party to it, I'll stop here.

Negative experience: Disgusting. This place certainly does not get cleaned properly at all. The women’s section is vile. I’ve uploaded pictures of the ledge by the mirrors, that is months and months of collection of dust and hair. I literally feel sick. The equipment in the women’s section is so dirt too
Negative experience: Would have to agree with the negative reviews, faulty equipment left for weeks on end, some of the equipment pictured is still faulty months later, they are renewing the toilet in the changing room so more than half the lockers can't be used and no building working is happening from one week to the next, real lack of care not by the staff more the company brand.
Negative experience: I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of response and care provided after sustaining an injury due to a faulty fixture in the changing rooms of your gym on 27/03/2024 ,Despite reporting the incident promptly, there has been no communication or apology from the management or Head office, even after a month. As a loyal customer, I find this level of negligence unacceptable and believe it reflects poorly on the safety standards maintained at your facility ,I spoke to the manager yesterday and he said head office will not compensate or apologise to me and told me I should take legal action.
Negative experience: Used to love this gym but in the last few months it’s went downhill rapidly for a number of reasons. Firstly, there is a member of staff who constantly finds himself in the women’s only area for no reason. He makes a lot of women uncomfortable, including myself and has even been asked to leave while he was loitering. If you feel as though you need a women's only area whether it be for personal or religious reasons, this gym isn’t for you. Secondly, the turn around on broken machines is horrendous. In particular the abductor has been out of use for 3+ months. Prior to this the parking validation system was broke for months which lead to many members receiving parking tickets. The air conditioning hasn’t worked for months and that paired with sweaty people makes a humid, smelly environment that I don’t want to be apart of. The women’s toilets and specifically the hand dryer stinks! There seems to be no willingness from staff to make this gym how it used to be. A free shaker wouldn’t be enough for me to write a 5* review that couldn’t be further from the truth. I will be looking for a new gym, like I know so many others are.

Our staff will only ever enter the women's only section for cleaning purposes and not stay any longer then necessary. Negative experience: you are deceiving people about the sauna, the contract says that the sauna is working, it has not been fixed for more than a month, so I wanted to terminate the contract, and they are threatening to pay taxes for it !

Negative experience: Previously gave this gym 5 star, only because I wanted the free shaker they give out but it’s honestly went so downhill since the staff have completely changed. The gym smells horrible and during summer, the AC doesn’t work and working out on the top floor in unbearable even with the industrial fans which do absolutely nothing if you’re not standing near the 2 that are available. Secondly, I had an interaction with one of the trainers (A.Bapista) during February, where he kept trying to intrude on my workout and put more weight on the machine, making me uncomfortable. Basically wacking on weight which is the fastest way to cause injury. Clearly a way to pitch sessions to me. I told him I already had a coach several times and anytime during rush hour he’d try and act like he was training me. Ive been going to the gym for years and joined NRG a little over a year ago so I’ve been there longer than him. One day I just turned around and told him politely I don’t want him to intrude on my workouts, he kept asking me why and I told him I already have a coach, he continued to ask who’s my coach, assuming he’s no good even tho he’s won bodybuilding comps, then told me he’s clearly not very good because he see’s no progress with my physique which is out of order, especially saying that to a woman. I think it’s disgusting to comment on anyone’s body especially as a PT. I asked to speak to the manager and staff said he wasn’t in and if I left my details he’d call me. More than a month later, no response. I’ve seen him do it to so many girls in the gym, never men. Usually the girls who are more experienced in the gym and are regulars, probably to make himself look better to the newer members since this happened around Jan/Feb. Also the girls hand dryer has smelled since I joined, one toilet is permanently locked the other the lock is broken and the last toilet is the only one that works and usually has no toilet paper, that is never is the toilet holding and just left on the floor. So if you plan on using the toilet, take your own tissue or wipes because it’s unhygienic. Not one for leaving bad reviews but NRG has become a joke. Chest fly and abductor machines are constantly broken, and in the event it does work, it’s doesn’t stay fixed for long. The water foundations definitely hasn’t had a deep clean in a long time because there’s brown build up in the drip trays. Gym community hasn’t been the same since Aaron left, and the gym enforces new gym rules where you can get your account suspended if you leave weights out, that’s fine but at least keep the dumbells in order and fix your machines if you want to punish people. It’s a two way thing. TVs are never on, pointless. Music is terrible sometimes, I don’t want to workout to the radio, rarely up tempo. Training without earphones is a death sentence, Capital is not the vibe. There’s never been enough barbell clips for the amount of barbells they have, most people bring their own. The only reason I came here was for the convenience, but it’s not even worth it anymore. Once my membership is up, I’m going to Empire gym like most people who were previously at Nrg and have since left have .

Fantastic experience: I signed up for a membership during the Christmas offer - 3 months for £9.99. I've very little experience with the gym but I wanted to make a change this year. I didn't know what to do so spent the first few weeks on the treadmill. I was contacted by Tim for a fitness consultation and knew that I'd need support if I wanted to reach my goals. My main goal is to be as sexy as possible this summer, and that is what I told Tim. In the weeks having Tim as my PT, I have exceeded my own expectations. I've lost weight, yes, but I've also become stronger, fitter, and generally more energetic. I've had guidance every step of the way, from diet to workouts, and it has been brilliant. Tim is very professional and knowledgeable, and he explains the benefits of the machines, nutrition, literally everything. I enjoy my sessions and have started to develop a real love for working out, which is a huge surprise to me. I love seeing the results and just feeling better in myself. I'm more confident now to wander upstairs and use the weights, following a programme written for me by Tim, and pushing myself. I don't feel silly when asking questions or just being myself, and I've learned so much. I feel safer knowing I have a point of contact if I get stuck, or need a boost in confidence. Signing up to NRG was a big step in itself and I quite like the gym anyway. Working with Tim as my PT has been the best investment, worth every penny, and has marked the start of my phenomenal fitness journey. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I’m a PT myself and it’s always good to reach out to another coach as there is someone out there that always knows more. I was advised to come to NRG gym as it was a good gym to train. On arrival I was greeted by Tim, we got chatting an when I told him I was after a coach myself he broke it down to me on what he offers. We sat down and discussed goals. Tim gave me a programme to stick to where I’m now checking in with him weekly. I’ve been with him now for 8 weeks and the results are insane. So just want to big him up and say thank you mate, absolute amazing PT and online coach. Anyone who goes to NRG or is thinking of joining I highly recommend Tim, his knowledge is insane.

Positive experience: The gym is spacious , the machines and equipment are of good quality. Hygienic standards can be shocking at times, but I can't blame the gym and it's owners for that , as many members treat the gym & it's equipment in a disrespectful way. It's difficult to get a good session in during the peak hours as teenagers tend to hog the machines while playing on their phones. I think the management would do itself a huge favour if they'd start cancelling some memberships of those who treat the gym in a disrespectful way.

Negative experience: Signed up and made the initial payment. Went to the gym only to find out the pin doesn't work. No sign of staff and assistance button wasn't any help at all. Other members were also experiencing the same problem and had to leave unfortunately without being she to use a service which I've paid for. Should've read the reviews before I signed up. Hopefully they sort it out tomorrow

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym last month for a gym under £30 it's has everything you need. 3 floors and Hammer strength plate loaded equipment. A very big gym for only £20 a month

Fantastic experience: Attentive and smiling staff, along with a spacious gym, allow for smooth workouts even during peak hours when the gym is most crowded. The equipment is sometimes damaged, which unfortunately is something that often happens in any gym. What I find appalling is that people don't take care of the equipment provided to them. However, overall, it's a well-serviced location with a great team. ✨ For girls who may feel less comfortable training in front of everyone, there's a specially designed women's area that is fully equipped, and boxing bags with gloves are also available for everyone. You'll find something for everyone in such a large gym—I highly recommend it! ️♀️

Negative experience: I'm not one to usually leave bad reviews because I like to exercise the benefit of the doubt. However, my experience with this gym has got to be the worst I have ever experienced. So, if anyone is looking to join, it is worth noting that the customer service in this place is atrocious. A few times when I have tried to go, my code hasn't worked. I tried to ring the emergency button for a staff member to help me but no one was there. I decided to come back the next day to have my code checked, only to my surprise I was greeted by what I can only describe as rude and ignorant individuals who were more concerned about talking to their friends instead of dealing with the issue I had. When I expressed the inconvenience this has caused me having to come back on multiple occasions, they all have the same thing to say - 'Sorry, there's nothing I can do about this'. I simply don't understand how this place can be a 24-hour gym with no way to contact a senior staff to help with any technical issues and the staff posted at the gym are of no help but instead give you attitude. Now, I would like to reiterate that I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this customer service was so bad I felt compelled to leave this review as a heads-up to anyone else out there trying to join this gym. Positive experience: I visited this gym for the first time today and my first thoughts are, it's a decent gym and convenient. However, a lot of the dumbbells were unorganised and a few were nowhere to be seen. Would definitely be worth 5 stars if things were more hygienic and organised. I also barely saw any staff.

Negative experience: Friendly gym good atmosphere Amendment: I did previously put 5 stars but as of late April to May the smell on the second floor in the late afternoon and evening is getting worse and worse no Aircon or fans the smell of body odour is totally offensive and unacceptable for a gym. I know at least 7 people who have left due to the smell and the heat in the gym.it's a shame but myself and others will be doing the same if the situation is not sorted .

Positive experience: The quality of NRG is sadly declining every time I visit. Sometimes they offer freebies like protein shakers and drawstring bags in exchange for a 5-star review but they don't deliver a 5-star service. It used to be a nice gym with a great atmosphere but over the last 2 years, it’s just become very sad. They are very slow in making changes. It took them a year to do a locker chop and to hire a cleaner. There's always equipment that's out of order. The Stairmaster on the cardio floor sometimes has technical issues however does seem to be repaired quite quickly. However, the water bottle holder looks like it's been broken off and there's tape holding the side of it together. Also, the one next to it is bumpy to climb. The treadmills are in great condition after they had finally been replaced last year. It would be great to see more cycling machines as these are always hard to get hold of during busier times. The women’s toilets had no toilet paper. The last stall doesn’t even lock properly and I had a stranger accidentally push the door open whilst I was using the last stall which was extremely mortifying. Also, the middle stall cannot be used at all, it's been locked for a while now. At busy hours it’s difficult to find one available. I’ve also had issues with the weighing machine stealing an extra pound for a full analysis and then only giving me a standard reading. Also last time I used the machine there was no paper so I couldn’t even print my measurements. The TVs also never seem to be working. I would prefer to work out in the women's section but the treadmills and cycling machine are very old and worn out. They don't compare to the machines on the cardio floor. It's also very cramped and gets overcrowded easily in the women's section. Seems like NRG prices are also slowly increasing every year and I’m starting to question why I haven’t already moved.

Negative experience: The gym is disgusting, manger is unprofessional there over 200 pending complaints which hasn’t been addressed. The hygiene standards is below acceptable. Equipment is broken all the time, most staff do not enforce rules. I alerted a member of staff about a safe concern and was laughed at. Only reason why so many 5* reviews is because the get members to write a good review so they can get free shakers/ get entered into events like win free boxing gloves

Fantastic experience: I have noticed a lot of low reviews about this gym. But the new gym management all seem to be working really hard to bring the standards of the gym up to a high level after taking over from management who never really seemed to try. Will especially was very welcoming when I spoke to him. There’s also state of the art Cardio equipment and the classes are great. Also they have plate loaded and pin select equipment over both floors. And a well stocked Female only Zone. I can’t recommend this gym enough. And I think it will only keep improving with this team in place.

Fantastic experience: Today was my first day attending the NRG Gym in Walsall and I was pretty much lost and didn't know how to get on with the machines or find the one I was after. It was when Adi, NRG Personal Trainer greeted me with a warm hello and asked if I was okay and needed help. I said I was a bit lost and he promptly helped me showing me around throughout the whole gym, he attentively showed me how to use the machines and the areas it was supposed to target. He was extremely friendly, displaying so much good will! He was giving me tips, helping me with my breathing techniques, he literally went away and beyond and I was honestly shocked in a very positive way as I had a previous experience in a different gym and although the PT was nice, he was nowhere as attentive and thorough as Adi was! I explained to him that I was a bit tight financially but I wanted to have at least 3 to 4 sessions with him to get myself going and in the pace so he offered me a nice discount of paying for two sessions and having the 3rd free which I completely loved! Honestly, it was such A POSITIVE Experience at NRG Gym Walsall and I am thankful that this gym is able to provide this high quality customer service/ assistance to their customers through these attentive staff that really have passion for what they do! I am definitely a happy client and I'm looking forward to attend the gym more regularly and have those sessions with Adi! I definitely recommend NRG GYM and I'll let all my friends and family know! Negative experience: Not great, they ask you to leave a 5 start review but they don’t maintain a 5 star gym. Multiple pieces of equipment are out of order, some have been this way for months and still no sign of them getting a repair. Very rarely see any staff around apart from the cleaner. It’s a good gym because it’s convenient, not because of how well the place is kept. Needs a lot of work to bring it up to a 5 star

Positive experience: Busy gym but I've always managed to get on cardio equipment and even have floor space to do weights. Although, could do with more weights on 2nd floor, on right side when going upstairs, which seems less quiet.

Negative experience: Since Josh the manager left gym machines have been taking ages to get fixed preferably need 2 pec deck machines however the young lads working there are polite and respectful
Negative experience: I have been there only once and coming from Birmingham on the bus.. As I read the reviews I so wanted to visit the gym.. The moment I entered I was looking for more cross trainers and treadmills. There is barely anything in the ladies section, very cluttered.. Barely any room to walk around. The receptionist is always away from the desk No one to help around daytime..
Positive experience: Good gym with every equipment you will need and good selection of free weight. Althought could do with a second punch bag. Staff very friendly and helpful also 2 hours free parking at tesco. The area we're it let's itself down is the shower and locker room. The showers are dirty and have mold. Also the temperature of the water is way to hot.
