Negative experience: Used to be really well priced but has increased considerably in the last few years. Gym is overcrowded due to massive uptake in Jan '24, expect the same in Jan '25. Difficult to now find parking or cardio equipment that is free at peak times. Which is a shame as there's a good variety of good equipment Used to be a separate closed off area for adults only where you could work in the quiet. That went with the refurb and it's now an open area next to the kids zone. Spa is lovely and relaxing, but the hot tubs are set up to be like a wave pool, impossible to relax in them.

Negative experience: Over priced and crowded. They charge new members more to subsidise existing members. The weights floor area is messy and the Spa area is always breaking down.

Negative experience: Changing the classes time without consultation with members is not such a good ideas because all the classes were full. Also not ideal with dropping off and picking up children.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic experience and a brilliant venue—not just for the gym but also for business meetings and relax, with an amazing SPA. Special thanks to Kayla, who on the first day dedicated plenty of time to give me a tour of the entire facility and explain everything thoroughly. She also allowed me enough time to make a decision without any pressure regarding which membership level to choose. I had the chance to train with Matty Mant, who is, so far, the best trainer I’ve ever worked with—extremely knowledgeable, highly professional, and with excellent communication skills! The facility itself is impressive. Everything is spotlessly clean, and every staff member goes above and beyond to ensure the service is of the highest standard. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a gym, spa, swimming pool, tennis or squash courts, and even a workspace—all under one roof!

Fantastic experience: My son & I were given a tour for all David Lloyd's facilities in Milton Keynes and we were really impressed. Not only the facilities are impressive but also the professional approach of Nik, the Sales Consultant that showed us around. Fantastic experience: Just a few days into my membership and absolutely loving it! Sam was excellent during the onboarding process, really put me at ease (I've not been to a gym in years) and answered all my questions. I wasn't 100% sure about joing DL but Sam's intro to the club completely changed my mind. So far, my daughter and I enjoyed indoor tennis (lovely courts and great availability), the pool and the lounge. We are really excited about trying the parent/child classes together, and I can't wait to spend some time in the spa.

Positive experience: I'm a member at Milton Keynes which has undergone an expensive refurbishment. Unfortunately there is an apparent payback with lower attendance classes cancelled. Makes economic sense perhaps but not for me anymore.

Negative experience: Waste of money and they don’t keep their promises. Always try to miss sell memberships. Response from Customer care people is a nightmare. A big list to go on. Be cautious not to fall with their offer traps.

Positive experience: It is a lovely Gym with all you need, swimming pool, sauna, tennis court, outside area for football and tennis, lovely cafe, work area where you can bring your laptop and work from there. But it costs a fortune monthly, my husband and son are members but I don't feel I could ever justify the prices of the membership. The front of the building needs some attention it looks old and ugly, when you go in everything looks better but to me the first impression of the building is a bad impression. I have to say the staff at the reception are always very helpful.

Fantastic experience: We recently visited the David Lloyd Club in Milton Keynes without a clear plan, but Sam’s warm welcome and thorough tour changed that quickly. He took the time to really understand our needs, asking thoughtful questions, and gave us a comprehensive tour of the fantastic facilities. His patience in answering all our questions, along with his great hospitality, made us feel very comfortable and excited about joining. Positive experience: Gym side all nice, u always get machines you want, very occasionally it's busy. Tennis, you can always get a court even you walk in without booking. Badminton and squash its wiser to book but quite few times it's says not available and when u go courts are empty. Food side: generally good but last time I ordered veggie and got meat bit on it. If you are vegetarian then I would give it a miss as I think there is contamination in the kitchen

Fantastic experience: My son and I went on a tour of the facilities guided by Nik, who was very friendly, helpful and personable. The facilities are fantastic and it pretty much sells itself. However, Nik asked questions about what we wanted from the club, whether we could see ourselves there and he really made the effort to find out what we needed. I'm really pleased that there was no "hard sell", just a genuine effort to show everything the club has to offer and how it could benefit our lifestyles. Suffice to say, I made the decision to sign up for membership and am really looking forward to my new health and fitness journey with DL.

Negative experience: One of the worst customer service I've experienced from any company. Requested to be sent monthly VAT invoice for my subscription. Waited over 3 weeks to get a reply that they don't issue any VAT invoice. Contacted the head office and again waited ages for a reply and was told that they don't issue any VAT invoice, even though they charge VAT.

The tills have not been working and I was so impressed at the team work, politeness and calmness when dealing with us members! Fantastic experience: I went for a walk through session of the Milton Keynes club and met Josh. He gave me a good overview of the club, asked me about my main objectives and provided me with answers of how the club can help me achieve it. He was very professional. it’s been 2 weeks now and i am very impressed with the club and facilities. Enrolled my son for some DL kids session and he loves it. The adult and family swimming pool is available through the evening. The SPA is a great place to unwind. Plenty of staffs available and all of them are very pleasant.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member of David Lloyds Gym in Milton Keynes for several months, and while I initially had high expectations, my experiences here have been increasingly disappointing. My latest encounter with the management, particularly with a manager named Matthew, has left me questioning the value of my membership. Recently, I accompanied a friend to discuss a parking ticket he received for parking on double yellow lines outside the gym. My friend had parked in the same spot many times before without issue, but the lines were newly painted while he was on holiday, and he didn’t notice them in his rush to drop off his child for a session. When we spoke to Matthew, the manager, to explain the situation, we were met with an unexpectedly rude and dismissive attitude. Matthew seemed completely uninterested in our concerns, bluntly stating that my friend should have known not to park on double yellow lines and that he couldn’t do anything about the fine. When my friend mentioned that other organizations, like Dartford Bridge Crossing, often show leniency for first-time offenses, Matthew responded dismissively, saying he didn’t work there and wasn’t concerned with their policies. His tone was condescending and unprofessional, making it clear that he had no intention of helping us. He even remarked that it was difficult to talk to us, further emphasizing his unwillingness to address our concerns. This level of customer service is unacceptable, especially considering the significant amount we pay each month to be members. Between the poor customer service, lack of addressing concerns. It’s disappointing to see that, despite paying a premium for membership, we’re not receiving the quality of service and care we were promised. I strongly urge the management at David Lloyds Milton Keynes to address these issues and take their members’ concerns more seriously

Negative experience: I’ve been a member of David Lloyds Gym in Milton Keynes for several months, paying approximately £200 per month to utilize their facilities. While the gym offers a range of activities and services, my recent experience with the management, particularly the manager named Matthew, has left me deeply disappointed. Recently, I received a parking ticket for parking on double yellow lines at the gym. I had parked in this same spot numerous times before without issue, but the lines had been painted recently while I was away on holiday. Unfortunately, in my haste to drop my child off for a DL Kids session, I didn’t notice the new markings and ended up with a £60 fine, which increases to £100 if not paid within 14 days. On August 24th, 2024, around 18:00, I went to the gym and spoke to the manager, Matthew, to explain my situation. Given that this was my first infraction and I had been a loyal member for months, I hoped for a bit of understanding and perhaps a courtesy gesture to cancel the ticket. To my surprise, Matthew responded with a harsh and dismissive tone, saying that I should know better than to park on double yellow lines and that he couldn’t do anything to help. I even tried to explain that other organizations, like the Dartford Bridge Crossing, offer leniency for first-time offenses, but Matthew rudely dismissed my point, saying he doesn’t work there and doesn’t care about that policy. His manner was unnecessarily abrasive, and he ended the conversation by stating that it was difficult to talk to me and that his decision wouldn’t change. Frankly, it’s not about the money. It’s about the principle and how loyal customers are treated. As someone who spends a significant amount of money each month at this gym, I expected a more considerate and customer-focused response. Additionally, when I first joined David Lloyds, I was not informed that there would be a major renovation just a few months later. Shortly after joining, the spa, steam rooms, sauna, and several other facilities were closed due to renovations, which came as a complete surprise to many of us. When I inquired about this at the reception, I was told that the person who handled my membership should have informed me, but that clearly didn’t happen. This incident is not the first time I’ve encountered poor customer service at this location. Despite being promised quality equipment when I joined, the badminton, tennis, and squash rackets provided are all damaged and of very basic quality. When I’ve raised this issue in the past, I was simply told to bring my own equipment if I wasn’t satisfied. However, the most alarming incident occurred while we were playing badminton one day. A couple of individuals, clearly under the influence of drugs (as everyone was talking about them and the smell was noticeable), entered the club from the back entrance near the badminton courts. There was no security present, and it seems anyone can enter the club from this back entrance without any checks. Out of nowhere, these individuals attacked one of our badminton and tennis clubmates, grabbing him and punching him in the face multiple times before fleeing. The attack left him with severe injuries, his face covered in blood and bruises. When we called the staff, they arrived and provided basic first aid, but that was the extent of their response. They informed us that they couldn’t do anything further because there were no cameras in the area, and the attackers were not members of the club. Despite this horrifying incident, no additional security measures have been implemented. The back entrance remains unsecured, and there are still no cameras installed. This lack of action is deeply concerning. Overall, the level of customer service at David Lloyds Milton Keynes Gym, particularly from Matthew, is appalling. As members, we deserve to be treated with respect and to have our concerns addressed courteously. Sadly, this experience has made me seriously reconsider my membership at this gym.

Positive experience: A great setting with superb facilities where you feel at ease for hours. The sole drawback is that the spa area's noise-making regulations might be more stringent. A few groups of people were talking so loudly that they were practically shouting, but the staff did not actually address them. Maybe some of these members could be advised to be mindful of the fact that people visit spas to relax and unwind. Just to add, Helen at reception was so kind, friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: A few of my friends had recommended I see Gavin as I had been looking to get back into the gym, but was still troubled by some lower back pain. I was fortunate enough to see him in the gym, and he went out of his way to help me. I implemented some of the stretches and exercises that he recommended and I have to say I feel so much better. Positive experience: I went to the club today as was working out with a friend. We had a great workout. I’m a member of Bushey. We had lunch and both ordered the chicken fajitas salad and both got food poisoning. I think it’s the chicken that was off. It was dry and terrible. I’ve tried to call the club and let them know. As newcomers to the fitness center, navigating through the variety of equipment and services available to us as adults but also our children could have been overwhelming. However, Sam masterfully orchestrated our onboarding experience, making it not only informative but also incredibly enjoyable. Sam began the tour with a smile and a personalized greeting, setting a friendly tone for the session. His passion for health and wellness was evident as he guided us through each section of the gym. He wasn't just walking us through—he was engaging with us, asking about our fitness goals, and suggesting how the gym’s resources can be tailored to meet our needs as a family. During the tour, Sam demonstrated an impressive depth of knowledge about all the classes and benefits. What made the experience with Sam truly stand out was his ability to listen and adapt the information he provided based on our responses. Whether we showed interest in weight training or cardio exercises, Sam immediately adapted his approach to dive deeper into those areas, showing us egym and classes that align with our interests. Moreover, Sam outlined the various health and wellness classes offered, from yoga to high-intensity interval training, and helped us understand the schedule and instructors. His insights were invaluable in helping us decide which classes might best suit our lifestyle and fitness levels. By the end of our visit, Sam had not only shown us the facilities but had also made us feel like part of the community. He encouraged us to try out different areas and classes, reminding us that exploration is part of the fitness journey. We finished the tour feeling excited and prepared to embark on our new health path, all thanks to Sam’s exceptional guidance. In conclusion, Sam's attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly approach to onboarding new members is commendable and greatly appreciated. Our children also commented on just how lovely they are thought Sam was. He's an asset to David Lloyd, and his dedication ensures that every new member starts off with the right footing. Fantastic experience: Took my Mother for a tour of this gym. We were given a tour by Manny, who was excellent from start to finish. He sat and listened to the health issues my Mum had been having and showed us the elements of the club we were interested in. He was very empathetic and understanding without being pushy. He was also brilliant with my 3 year old who was with us for the tour, keeping her stocked up with juice cartons whilst we were sat down! Facilities were excellent, particularly the pool, spa and the wellness studio. Manny is a credit to David Lloyd =]

Negative experience: I had been a loyal member and feel the need to share my recent experiences, which have significantly altered my view of this establishment. The recent renovations, which were much needed, were funded in a manner that I found both surprising and disappointing. Despite using the facilities at reduced capacity, members continued to pay full prices, only to be greeted with a price increase upon completion, justified by these very renovations. This approach not only felt elitist and unethical but also raised questions about the fairness and legality of such practices. My concerns led me to contact trading standards, who confirmed they are investigating the matter for potential breaches of trading regulations. Further reflection on DL's strategy reveals a clear intention: Renovate the Club: Proceed with upgrades while charging existing members full price, anticipating some cancellations but expecting many to return later. Restructure Membership: Post-renovation, introduce a 'diamond' class to effectively price out middle-class families, making the club more exclusive. Balance the Books: Rely on the remaining members to offset the financial impact of those who cancel their memberships. Create an 'Elite' Environment: Aim for a membership base that pays premium rates, presumably requiring less management due to their reduced numbers. This calculated approach to transform the membership base and club atmosphere raises concerns about the inclusivity and ethics of DL’s practices. I have since cancelled, refusing to pay the higher cost as i was priced out, and would never return even if they offered half price.. i despise unethical behaviour and hope they get whats coming to them.

Fantastic experience: From my initial chat, Josh was very informative, easy going and polite which made me feel comfortable straight away. He welcomed me for a relaxed tour of the club and nothing was too much trouble. He answered all my queries and at the end of the meeting assisted me with my membership. Josh is a credit to the team and I can’t recommend my first experience highly enough. I wanted to add a little extra to my review to say since joining at the start of this month the entire team have been exceptional. Kaitlyn on reception has been so welcoming along with the other members of the team. Yasmine in DL kids ensured my daughter had the most wonderful introduction and Matty has been excellent in my PT sessions. Fantastic experience: Needed some help and information about the new spa and clarifications regarding tennis courts and gym Facilties. Heidi at reception was most accommodating and very helpful, clearly knew all aspects of the facilities at David Lloyd and was able to clarify all questions and queries. Excellent service, thank you very much Heidi.

Fantastic experience: Josh gave my daughter & I a tour & breakdown of memberships. He was knowledgeable and friendly without being a pushy salesman. We didn’t sign up immediately as we had another gym we wanted to look at, but DL has no competition in Milton Keynes. So we popped back to see Josh to confirm our membership. Overall a great experience with him.

Fantastic experience: I went as a guest and enjoyed the variety of equipment available in the gym. The shower areas are clean and inviting. The food from the cafe is excellent. The staff all work really hard to make sure that customers are well looked after. Dee Denham and Paula Peters in particular go above and beyond to make sure customers have a top notch experience.

Fantastic experience: So pleased we joined. We had our tour with Sam, which I must say he was fantastic. All the facilities are of great quality, what you would expect at the price but overall great value. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I had never been to a David Lloyd before, but after doing the big move to Milton Keynes, I needed somewhere to work out. Heidi at reception was immensely helpful- she really took the time to speak with me and explain everything. The team seems so lovely, love the community vibe! Thanks Heidi :)

Fantastic experience: I visited the club recently and received a warm welcome by Heidi at the reception desk. She answered any queries I had with professionalism and made me feel very welcome on the day and the facilities were great! I will definitely be coming back again to the club!

Fantastic experience: I came as a guest unsure whether this gym would be suitable for me, and I was overwhelmed with the level of care and responsibility each of the staff took to ensure my comfort while there. Most particularly Heidi at the reception. She helped make sure everything was easily explained, gave me very clear directions, and went out of her way to give impeccable and efficient service. Going to a gym has proven a daunting activity before, but she has done her utmost to provide me with everything I needed to make sure I come back; and I most certainly will!
