Fantastic experience: Nice staff & good coaching to learners, especially kids.

Fantastic experience: I called in as an attempt to rectify the breakfast sandwiches and other goodies during the Fringe. The baths were 5 mins away from my accommodation. I arrived Sunday morning at 9.20ish for the lane swim. Very helpful staff. The changing cubicles are poolside with lockers that are free to use and which you set a lock code for. Nice pool and it was as busy as I would want it without being jammed at 3 per lane. I chose medium speed and slotted in fine. I did the mile, showered down and left to be somewhere for 10.30am otherwise I would have checked out the sauna. Good old-school pool, decent facilities, clean, everyone in there seemed reasonable. Everything you could want from a pool and lane swim. Shame I wasn't in Edinburgh for longer or would have been back.

Positive experience: Read some reviews that suggest this pool was refurbished maybe 5 years ago!? Really! Just been for a swim & the place is grim. Bad tiling, bad paint, rust, useless showers. Just does not look well maintained. Water is freezing. Yuk!

Fantastic experience: My partner and I are the new memebrs of Dalry swim centre. We are very pleased with the service received from the reception staff (Elaina). She was so kind to explain in detail about the swimming classes and even she showed us the swimming pool and facilities. She dedicated so much time to address our questions and giving good advice and tips. We gave 5 star because of Elaina's fantastic approach and assistance.

Positive experience: So many people sometimes when there are only 2 lanes. There were literally 7 people tonight at my lane. A bit dangerous especially when the people are making a lot of waves. Is it possible to have more lanes if there are too many people?

Positive experience: Tiny gym but has good equipment if you time your visit so you can get on it. Good pool and sauna Even some private showers!

Fantastic experience: Very nice swim centre. I enjoy my swimming here. The only thing I am disappointed in is the showers. There is very little water pressure, and you have to press the shower button constantly because it stops almost instantly if you let go. Otherwise I really like going to Dalry Swim Centre

Negative experience: Totally freezing pool... The coldest indoor swimming me my daughter and my niece have ever experienced by miles and it was on the 25th of November so they are a joke Strange staff.

Fantastic experience: Booked a family swim session here. It's a fairly big pool with changing rooms and lockers. You don't need any money for them (like back in the day)they are digital lockers.Showers at the side of the pool are warm. Enjoyed swimming with my family here.Would recommend to anyone if in the area. Parking not good on the street but there's side roads and a co op car park nearby.

Fantastic experience: This a swimming baths I have been going to all my life, this time I was working but this does not distract me saying it similar to how I remember but a bit more modern and the staff are friendly and helpful. Nice!

Fantastic experience: Like going to David Lloyd. Staff all very friendy from the reception person to the life guards. Staff are constantly cleaning this spotless pool. Been to a few pools but this is consistently my favourite.

Negative experience: I'm not sure if he is still there but the gym coach who has a skinhead blonde/ginger hair has made me not ever want to come back to this gym. He was extremely unprofessional and would constantly try to make condescending jokes. He would always try to make conversation with everyone in the tiny gym which some may seem as fine and friendly however his attitude would be very rude and it would make me feel on edge. The majority of people go to the gym to put their headphones on and zone out while working out. However this is impossible to do when your staff are extremely unprofessional and try to start a conversation every 5 seconds. This guy also did coaching sessions and over hearing him with his clients he is also rude to them. He would joke around with guys in the gym but be condescending to women. It's a shame that I live so close to this gym and would be ideal to go every week however this member has staff has given me anxiety to step foot in any gym.

Fantastic experience: Attending swim baby sessions. Staff are friendly, trainers are good. over all maintenance of the pool, shower rooms, lockers, open showers all good.

Positive experience: There are too many people in a small area. You don't have a proper changing area, where you can remove your shoes. You need to take off them near reception before entering. And when you've to leave, you have to dress in a 40-degree environment and then come out in a sweat. It's quite uncomfortable.

Positive experience: Not bad, lanes a bit tight, prefer the royal Commonwealth Pool

Fantastic experience: Newly refurbished 25m pool with sauna and also private shower and change available. The gym is small but the staff are all very friendly. No need for a coin for the lockers. Check the time table as sometimes classes and family swims are in.

Fantastic experience: Victorian pool with character. Staff was really nice and helpful. Only gripe was that only 2 lanes were available despite being a lane swimming slot. but since there weren’t many swimmers, this didn’t cause a problem.

Fantastic experience: I had never been to the gym before, ever, and the staff were phenomenal. So helpful, especially Amber at the pool, made sure I was okay and knew where i was going - she even checked on me as I was leaving to ensure I got on alright. Absolutely recommend - such a great first time experience

Positive experience: A beautiful Victorian pool, helpful staff, always willing to help. I always feel welcome when I go. It's been modernised with new showers the balcony has individual shower/changing rooms. As well as upgraded communal showers.

Fantastic experience: Lovely pool, great atmosphere, decor... Friendly staff. Lovely sauna.. And the gym is small but everything you need for a work out ... and again a friendly inclusive atmosphere in the gym

Negative experience: I arrived at 12.15 and was advised if myself and son wanted to swim we would only have 30 minutes as there was a family session on at 1and it was fully booked,however I did not expect to pay £8 for 30 minutes in the water and to be told by the lifeguard we could only use half of the pool?

Fantastic experience: Went there to try and get fit so swam super hard for like half an hour then tried to catch my breath by walking around the pool. The leisure attendant asked if I was awright which was sweet but let me know I wasn't as fit as I used to be. Then I couldn't get back into my locker and she helped me get it sorted. Helped me from feeling like an eejit even though I was being a complete eejit.

Positive experience: Staff is helpful and friendly. Instructors are good with kids to make them comfortable for their first swimming lessons

Fantastic experience: Awesome swimming pool and sauna + excellent staff, but I would say that Nicola is the best. She has a great sense of humour, great smile and is always friendly to people. Who wouldn't love to go back every day

Fantastic experience: Excelent place to exercise while having fun with your family friends or alone and for sure you will make friends there! Highly recommended. Keep in mind that on Fridays you don't pay registration fee if you go with a membership holder

Fantastic experience: I went at 0700 for a swim. It was nice and quiet and the people also swimming were so friendly, it was a really nice experience. The staff were very helpful. You know when sometimes you are going to do a new thing and you know there are going to be regulars here so you’re a bit nervous? Well I was a bit nervous, however I was made to feel so at ease. Almost feel like a regular already! A sauna and a nice cold shower too.

We bought £7/7 day tickets but after 3 days my son has not managed to swim yet due to onsite booking system crashes and the difficulty of getting online booking working, yet there is now a £3 no-show penalty charge on his account. :(

Fantastic experience: My kids go here for their swimming lessons and they really enjoy it. It's a lovely old style Victorian Swimming pool with new changing areas.

Negative experience: Dreadful. The whole set up. From start to finish. If this is the future of swimming, we will be a nation of non swimmers before too long.

Negative experience: Swimming these days with Edinburgh leisure is like being a prisoner in those American movies. You get your details recorded, your picture taken, your allocated time slot and your designated lane. You then have to wear the approved footwear covers and go to the designated changing space. When you're in the lanes, don't stop to chat to your friend or look for any form of relaxation as it will be met with a stare of disapproval from the guards. Joking aside, they pack half the pool and leave the other half empty, they send you to shower at the same time due to the time slots, they have constant issues with their booking system or payment system (you can't pay on arrival either), it costs MORE than using a private health facility and there's always something not open or not as stated on their website. It's absolutely pathetic. Take up open water swimming and invest in a good wetsuit.

Fantastic experience: Small refurbished Victorian swimming pool close to central Edinburgh. Good size for swim, sauna and gym. Lessons for adults and children/babies. Very well presented and maintained. Staff are very kind and helpful. In pleasant surroundings and an enjoyable swim followed with a lovely shower after.

Fantastic experience: After I signed up, I realised the gym wouldn't quite serve my needs as a main place to work out. Tony was great and organised a full refund which I received in only a few days. Will definitely occasionally visit to use the pool which was lovely!

Negative experience: Je suis allée lundi 29 juillet à 9h. Bel endroit pour patauger, pas de corridor défini, rampe en métal dans l'eau à un des bords de piscine, ce qui empêche de tourner. J'ai dû arrêter mon entraînement car les sauveteurs ont mis les bouées au centre de la piscine, pour un cours d'aquaforme...
