Fantastic experience: Lovely location, great spa experience, staff helpful

Fantastic experience: Myself and my daughter came to the Spa today 20/04/24. We both had beauty treatments which were so lovely & relaxing. The lady who did treatments was so nice, polite and helpful. The staff on reception were very welcoming and greeted us with a smile.

Positive experience: Booked a room for my 50th, stayed in room 26. The shower head kept dripping all bloody night!! Told reception and they brushed it off. Nice setting and gardens but the shower let it down. Personally i wont be staying again.

Fantastic experience: We booked last minute and it exceeded all expectations. We arrived after dark and was greeted at reception by a lovely lady called Kiera - she even kindly offered to dog sit for us whilst we dined. All the staff were great and welcoming. Jack looked after us at dinner and even offered for us to try the different wines as we were undecided. The food was on point. The building is stunning if you love history and stepping back in time to grandeur this is definitely for you. We stayed in the annex - stunning views over the bay with a balcony to enjoy our morning cuppa. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. We didn’t use the spa but this looked fab too. Thankyou to all the staff for a wonderful stay

Fantastic experience: What a lovely day, all staff amazing,beautiful hotel, food 5* so relaxing I think I would have been pronounced dead if anyone had taken my pulse at times. As feedback I think the only thing I'd say is maybe invest in a few larger robes, i'm a bigger woman with a large chest, and felt a little restricted, and was worried one of my 'ladies' was about to escape, that would frankly put the other guests off their afternoon tea . Massive thanks to the staff we'll be back xx

Fantastic experience: Absolutely gorgeous hotel full of history. Food was amazing and the staff where very professional and lovely. Just one complaint the coffee was horrible and the Irish coffee was no better it would have been nice to have really good speciality coffees . Apart from that it was excellent!!

Fantastic experience: I booked two rooms at Netherwood alongside a spa treatment to celebrate my best friends 40th birthday. I booked in August time for a November booking. Anna was incredibly kind and well informed as to the types of rooms which would be on offer. The customer service from Anna was impressive especially as I was never made to feel like I was a nuisance whenever I would call or when I needed to rearrange the booking to increase our party size. When we got there the hotel was very well signposted and we were amazed by the beautiful views and how clean everything was. Ample parking space so we didn't need to worry about leaving the car on a main road. We finally met Anna who greeted us with a smile and a hug; and we were so fortunate to be given two rooms with an adjoining door as it meant our party of 4 could go into one another's rooms without a problem. The staff overall were so helpful and the rooms were clean, spacious and well equipped. Adam at the front desk was very helpful and went the extra mile when arranging our pre-booked afternoon tea... I had a card and cake topper which Adam put into a very lovely sparkly gemmed flute glass for us. As Muslims we didn't opt for the full spa package as the spa was mixed and we didn't want to feel uncomfortable. Having said this, I'm glad I booked my friend and I the netherwood refresher as we both enjoyed it so much. I loved my massage with Amy who really made me feel so comfortable being there and also checked in with me as to whether I wanted a deeper massage or not. I appreciate her checking in on me and also giving me the time to come round post massage rather than rushing me off the bed. Breakfast was a buffet style system and we enjoyed it. The only feedback I have is as we are vegetarian it would have been nice not to see the black pudding in the same tray as the hash browns. Tom served us our teas and coffee with a smile... He went the extra mile to find us peppermint tea, which was very much needed post a night of eating heavy food at a local restaurant. To top off how amazing the customer service was: after checking out I realised my car battery had died, Adam helped seat my friends in the reception next to a lit fire whilst the site manager helped me to jump start my car. Everyone was so kind and never made us feel like we were a nuisance. Grange over sands is a beautiful area to walk in also. We were gifted with sunshine during our November stay and so walked everywhere we could (hence the dead battery!). There's a lovely halal restaurant near by as well as a handmade chocolate shop which I'm glad we visited. Overall, we would love to visit again as the staff at the hotel were all very friendly, kind, and welcoming; and the experience we had was value for money. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely 5 day break here last week,,,gorgeous room with ample supplies if the "usual" and a superb "hotel telly" hurrah!! Food was gorgeous, and surroundings and hotel interior even more so. A lovely getaway well done

Positive experience: My friend and I decided last minute to book a spa session at Netherwood and were pleasantly surprised when I called up that they had availability for the bank hol. Booked & paid over the phone £30pp for 2.5 hours. We were a bit underwhelmed with the whole experience. We arrived in our gym attire as thought we would get a workout in before using the facilities to be told the gym would be an extra £7pp. So decided to knock this on the head. I then asked if we could book afternoon tea for when we finished as I overheard her mention it on the phone to someone else making a reservation. I was told they couldn’t do this as it had to be pre booked the day before. Both of the above points should have been advised on the phone on booking. You missed out on extra business there. In all my years working in the spa industry I’ve never known there to be a separate fee to use the gym facilities. The lady on reception showed us round and supplied us with robe/towel & slippers. Changing rooms were average sized but only one toilet. And disappointed that you couldn’t plug hair straighteners in anywhere or that they weren’t provided. When I asked the lady about this she said it would be a hazard due to the water near by (pool/showers)? But yet hair dryers were provided which are also electrical? Again others spas I have experienced either provide hair straighteners or have an area you can plug your own in to use. There was no costume dryer or bags to put wet swimwear in. Also no conditioner in the showers. Only shampoo & body wash. The x3 sunken tubs were on the small side and very deep neither of us could sit on the benches inside without our face being in the water. Obviously made for taller ppl. Water was provided but no drinks made available or advertised. I asked one of the girls who was using the facilities who mentioned she worked there, and she said Prosecco could be purchased. No where was this advertised and we weren’t informed of this (again missed business opportunity) it would have been nice to have some nibbles either comp or on a little spa menu with drink options. The sunken pools needed a good clean, the floors under the benches were slimy and plenty of hair floating around in the tubs. Could maybe do with checking throughout the day. A few cobwebs around too. Heat rooms were nice although again could do with a clean around the doors/glass. Not much to keep you occupied for 2.5 hours though. No main pool/hydrotherapy pool. No magazines/self care books etc. No cafe area. Also no background music which would have added to the experience/atmosphere. No treatments available either (being bank holiday) I guess you get what you pay for but I really don’t understand how it’s got 4 bubbles. I wouldn’t return unfortunately. It was an average spa with missed opportunities to upsell and limited facilities for that ultimate spa journey.

Positive experience: The thermal spa experience was amazing, so relaxing and staff very polite. Afternoon tea was average, and had to ask for the pot of tea. Would definitely book the spa again and can't wait to go back.

Fantastic experience: My daughter took me for a treat for my birthday. What an amazing day. We had a thermal journey spa experience, aromatherapy massages before topping there day off with an amazing afternoon tea in the Main Hotel. The staff were cheerful, polite and friendly. Service was excellent. Never seen a cleaner changing room. The facilities were also spotless. We'll definitely be back, shall also be recommending the whole experience to all of my friends! Thank you for an incredible day

Negative experience: I live locally and this is the only gym. The lockers don't lock. The shower is stone cold. Nowhere to hang your stuff or sit within the shower room. No shower gel. No hairdryer. The floors aren't clean. Very small and cramped. Lovely PT and good equipment. Frankly 40 pounds a month is way, way too expensive. Could do (a lot) better.

Fantastic experience: Thoroughly enjoyed a truly relaxing spa day with a friend. Facilities were clean and welcoming, the massage was FANTASTIC, and value for money was great! Highly recommend!!

Negative experience: We accepted a complimentary destress spa package after the first visit was disappointing. We travelled 2.5 hours to get there and enjoyed a lovely meal the night before and were excited for our massages the next morning. Unfortunately this was where it all went wrong. We were told by the only therapist on that they had covid and it was up to us if we were comfortable to go ahead with the massage. They had also been told not to phone anyone beforehand to let them know, which is just bad customer service, because we could have rescheduled it had we known. Naturally, and like many others that day we said no and requested a refund. What I find pretty disgusting is that the spa were happy for someone with covid to provide treatments to people. For a place that promotes care and wellbeing, I think this shows a real lack of customer care and find it just plain irresponsible. We were left feeling more annoyed and disappointed than the time before and can safely say we will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: Great little spa, we had the couples treatment and it was great, cream scones and a glass of wine.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fabulous! We've visited multiple spas and this is very much up there. Its a littler smaller than some but it's very clean, staff are welcoming and very knowledgeable. We had treatments (1hr facial & 1hr full body massage) which were incredible.

Fantastic experience: Booked a little surprise visit for my girlfriend and I here. We went on a Wednesday afternoon during a work day and it was incredibly quiet and this meant that we had most of facilities to ourselves. Very atmospheric and professional feeling, it doesn't feel like a public swimming baths etc. Only quarm I have is the changing rooms are very open with no personal cubicles to change in. Otherwise the facilities are class. Relatively inexpensive for what you get

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed the spa facilties and a treatment for my birthday. It was the best back and shoulder massage I've ever had. The masseuse was friendly and made me very relaxed.

Fantastic experience: I booked a relax spa break here for myself & my wife and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We both had wonderful back massages prior to our 90 minute thermal spa session & found all the staff friendly & attentive. Due to COVID times at the moment we had the entire spa to ourselves for the duration, this enhanced the experience 10 fold, it feels so much more exclusive & special... our time there literally flew by! They have 3 lovely pools... a cold plunge pool, a hot dip pool & a larger hot tub and a selection of steam rooms, tropical showers & an ice fountain.... its lovely, can’t recommend it enough. My wife literally came home & fell asleep in seconds, something she hasn’t done in a long time! We were massively spoiled by the fact we had it to ourselves but the whole place & atmosphere was really enjoyable. 5 stars well earned, we will be back.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely gorgeous. Cannot recommend this place enough. The spa was incredible, the staff were attentive and the food was outstanding. It is pricey but it was worth every penny. Recommend this place if you're fancying a spa getaway!
