She is always so warm and steping up to serve all guest beyind expectations.. She is no doubt the pleasant face of DL that elevates the goodwill of David Llyodd Chigwell. We are lucky to have her. Fantastic experience: We came to see David Llyod for a tour with Rick, he had us sold in 10 mins, ended up spending the day there with the kids and we had a great time! thank you Rick.. we took the membership and intend to fully utilise all the facilities available to us

I am always impressed with their professionalism and customer service. From the moment I walk in, I am always greeted warmly by the knowledgeable and friendly staff Emily is my favourite always has a smile on her face and always very pleasant.

Negative experience: *Avoid* It’s incredibly disappointing to see such a low standard of service at what’s supposed to be a premium gym. Out of all the David Lloyd locations I’ve been to, this has to be the worst. The manager and receptionist both showed a complete lack of understanding, and to make matters worse, the receptionist even accused me of swearing at her. That kind of unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. It’s frustrating to see such inconsistency in customer service across different David Lloyd clubs. Instead of pouring resources into expanding the spa facilities, maybe the focus should be on delivering better customer service and properly training staff. This isn’t an isolated issue either. A few weeks ago, I was essentially called a liar when I mentioned I was promised a free month for referring four people in a single month. It’s insulting to be treated like that, especially after actively supporting and promoting the club. Honestly, I doubt Russell Barnes or anyone at the top cares about these issues, but the lack of respect and professionalism at this location is seriously damaging the brand. It’s a real shame. Confident the manager will brush this under the carpet.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience joining in with Alice. She was extremely friendly and understood all my concerns. The club itself is incredible with spa, gym area, tennis court and pools. I haven’t used all of them yet but so far so good I have been taking tennis lessons from Peter K, an amazing coach. He is very professional, patient and has deep understanding of the game. ⭐️

Fantastic experience: I was shown around the club by Alice who was wonderful. Extremely knowledgeable about the many different areas of the club. Its actually exceeded my expectations in terms of the facilities and the quality of everything. Would recommend doing a tour and finding out what is on offer.

Positive experience: Great family fun and spa. We’ve had mixed reception reviews of the staff. Some are awful and rude but one in particular is Ella. She always greats us with a smile, doesn’t abuse her authority and goes above and beyond to serve you. Thanks Ella for keeping it real ❤️

Negative experience: Signed up for a trial. Was meant to be contacted by the team, I wasn’t. Tried to call twice no answer so gave up.

Fantastic experience: After years wasting time at the gym, I decided to go for a PT and was directed to Darren Hunt @Davidlloydchigwell. Our Journey Began 4 months ago and now 13kg down, stronger and fitter. My mindset has changed and now at the gym 4-5 days a week instead of every few months.

Fantastic experience: I have been at David Lloyd Chigwell for over 10 years and the reception staff are absolutely brilliant… I must give a special mention to Carly, Tyla and Stephanie for being such warm, welcoming and attentive staff.

Zero pressure applied to sign up which I really appreciated. I did sign up and really looking forward to seeing if the rest of my experience lives up to the high bar set today.

Fantastic experience: We had few gym tours in the area and none could compare with David Lloyd. Alice was super friendly, offered a drink and took around to all the areas of the gym and spa. She made our decision very easy :) Excited to be a new member!

Fantastic experience: I decided to write a review after having been a member of DL Chigwell club for about a month rather than write after just a couple of days after joining. Glad I did that because I can truly say that this is a fantastic club to be part of. I use mainly the gym and the spa facilities and I am very happy with it. There is plenty of equipment and machine, which means you can get on with your workout without having to wait for someone else to finish their set. The changing room and club in general is always clean. It has a nice vibe and always feels welcoming. The staff is really helpful, if you need any assistance. My kids like to use the swimming pool and they are pretty happy with it too. Overall, it has been a very good decision to join this club and highly recommend it. Also, would like to give mention Amerdeep for giving us the tour of the club when we came to have a look and giving us all the information we needed to make an informed decision. I recommend you ask for him, if you are planning to visit the club for a tour or to check-out the options.

Negative experience: It is very over priced for what you get. Payments went up by 10/15% within 2 months of joining. I was so resentful I never used it. Joining a new gym this week, with all the same things and half the price. Anywhere but here. Waste of money. Its about the status; money is the priority with this company not the individual.

Fantastic experience: I train here four days a week and absolutely love it. The gym is beautiful, and the swimming pool is a standout feature. The only downside is the long journey from Buckhurst Hill Underground Station. Overall, it’s worth the trip for a top-notch fitness experience!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a great experience at the club so far.. I love the spa and the facilities but it’s all the friendly, helpful staff that make the place special. Di from the sales team has really helped me iron out any issues/questions I had about my membership and is now a lovely, friendly face that I see around the club! Jenna, who I had my PT sessions with (which are complimentary on joining!) was great too.. a great, motivating, encouraging energy to be around.. I always look forward to being at the club as it’s somewhere that I can prioritise my health and well-being, whilst my daughter is happy doing activities - though we haven’t tried one yet, the new Rebel classes look great, where you can train with your child (if they’re over 8).. and I always leave feeling positive and relaxed!

Fantastic experience: Myself and my partner have just completed the 14 day trial at the David Lloyd. We have loved everything about the club. The facilities are amazing and hospitality is great. Diana from the sales team has been so welcoming and accommodating. We have two young children so made the most of the crèche and soft play, as well as, the free drop off toddler clubs (perfect Saturday morning). The spa is incredible, better than any day spa I have been to before. The business hub has also been perfect as a working mum! We will definitely be joining the club!

Fantastic experience: Diana signed me up last week and from the first conversation we had over the phone she made me feel very welcome. She arranged for a tour and went through everything with me and took her time to find out what exactly I wanted from the he club. I haven’t been to the gym in years so was very nervous about joining any classes, she introduced me to some of the trainers and everyone was more than happy to help me go through all my goals and what steps I can take to achieve them. Fantastic experience: I’m a member with my mum and dad, we enjoy going to the gym and playing rackets in the club, the staff are always friendly and there to help with whatever you need.

Fantastic experience: David Lloyd has always been my favorite place for swimming, I 100 percent recommend everyone who may live close or far away to visit david lloyds at chigwell as it is a great place for a family day out or a place to relax for the day in the spa. Not to mention that they have great areas for people who are interested in sports, such as badminton and tennis.

I’ve never experienced someone so friendly, efficient and precise with her information. Alice has helped me find a package that works for me and is suitable for my individual needs. Fantastic experience: Had a tour on Saturday, staff were really welcoming and friendly. Alice gave the tour around the gym, she was friendly and full of energy and made my experience at the gym good. i’ve not signed up to the gym yet, but i will as of the start of October :)

Positive experience: Went with my friend as a +1. You have large facilities for Tennis , HIIT , Studios and of course machines to do your typical stuff. Lots of weight sizes to choose from and you definitely don't need to worry about running out of anything to use. However I wish the weight gym was labelled more clear, we spent 5-10 minutes looking for it until we asked one of the kind staff to guide us.

Negative experience: Poor facilities and the admin team are incompetent (in particular Joanna). They have withdrawn over £750 via direct debit in one month alone with repeated transactions for membership. They do not respond to emails or communication via the app, then when you speak to them via telephone - they assure you that a refund will be made and then another withdrawal a week later. Incredibly frustrating to deal with such idiocy. Also Diana - you should give tours around the facility yourself and not tell new members to look around the facilities as soon as their direct debit has been set up. Perhaps you need to learn some basic hospitality. Edit as response to below - they had not reached out to me. I called DL for the fourth time as yet another withdrawal was made from my bank account. I should not have to ring multiple times to address the same issue. Also respond to what email?! I have not had any responses to emails sent. Seems as though the quickest way to get hold of you is via online reviews...

Negative experience: Swimming staff are a disgrace. They show no compassion towards SEN children and are incredibly rude. Staff swap around all the time and are never consistent . Horrible place to learn to swim. DONT GO not worth the negative horrible vibe

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful experience on a fantastic summers day with the children and Billy was an awesome host so professional and welcoming. The youngest two got to enjoy the outdoor pool while my oldest got to work out in the gym then join us by the pool. Would really love to make the most of the spa without having to watch the kids lol. Will definitely be back.

He consistently goes above and beyond to ensure members have a fantastic experience, and his passion for the club is evident in everything he does. I'm particularly impressed with the incredible padel facilities at the Chigwell location. The courts are top-notch, well-maintained, and there's always a lively atmosphere around the padel community Billy has fostered. It's clear he recognizes the growing popularity of the sport and has made it a priority to provide members with the best possible padel experience.

Fantastic experience: Ive recently joint the club with my family and love the facilities and the community feel there. If you are considering joining then just do it and id highly recommend going to see Alice as she's so lovely and made us feel so welcome from day one. All the staff have been great and super helpful so far and we are all enjoying the sports and groups that are set up.
