Fantastic experience: I have been using fitness space Ascot for nearly a year now. I took out one of the PT packages and have worked with John as my trainer. The workouts are varied and I have built strength over that time. The app is really good and helps me ensure that I follow the workout correctly whilst not working with my trainer. The facilities in the gym have the latest machines and a good range of free weights. Everyone is friendly and helpful and I would recommend this gym if you really want to improve your fitness, whether that is speed, strength or flexibility.

Positive experience: I read the review below and wanted to comment as it seems like it has been written from a very disgruntled place. Whilst I do agree with some points that have been written in the lengthy review I am totally against completely bashing a business that one willingly stayed with for 13 years. I think that speaks volumes about a person and less about the business itself. It seems as though a total bashing review has embroiled from a price increase and what would’ve been “okay” standards for the customer to willingly stay for 13 years has now become unacceptable and intolerable. Anyway, I do agree with the opening times, early closing on the weekend is not ideal, especially for busy mums but In a situation like that, you move gyms and find one that suits your hours. Everything else is good.

Fantastic experience: Honest club with good personal trainers and a separate studio. They use the MyZone tracking system so you can record your progress.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Fitness Space for many years. I’ve used gyms all my life and never felt the need for a PT. I recently started a ten session PT programme with Sam. The programmes she has set have really changed my enthusiasm for the gym. I feel more motivated and having a workout planned for you really helps achieve more. My one to one sessions with Sam and hard but a delight. Sam has built a programme that really suits me. She has a wealth of fitness and wellness knowledge. If you want to go up a gear I highly recommend Sam’s help and encouragement.

Negative experience: They decide to charge an eyewatering £50/month because they're the only gym in the area. Closes at 9pm and its tiny inside
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We always look to address feedback in a positive way. We do not hide our pricing nor our size or opening hours. Perhaps we should highlight more the inclusive services as well as additional services that we offer. We price ourselves on what we can offer which will hopefully be perceived as good value for those that join us. We are proud of relatively small, friendly facilities. (2700sqft). They help us create and sustain a great community. We are by no means lacking state of the art equipment. We have excellent equipment to member ratio which we feel is a key metric. However, we offer far more than just a gym facility. We address members' exercise, nutrition, and mind set on a 24/7 basis. The majority of our members follow prescribed bespoke programmes which aim to yield not only better results but less flocking. We offer expert workshops on wide range of topics from mobility, menopause, empowerment, elite strength and conditioning.... If you'd like to understand what you do get and what is available then please get in touch.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member of the Fitness Space for many years and honestly would never consider changing to another gym - Great value for money - with lots of different packages to suit your everyone. The small class sizes really enable the team to offer personalised support; the variety of classes from Pilates to Spin and everything in between is brilliant and there is something for everyone several times a week. The equipment is first class with the latest machines/equipment and there is always someone on hand to show you what to do! The facilities are great - loos, showers, lockers/hair dryers etc. Sam and Steven are both dedicated PT's/class leaders who are genuinely interested in my health and wellbeing. And best of all - it is never overcrowded and a place for show-offs!! Its just a lovely friendly place full of normal people!! SSSH!!! don't tell everyone as it might get too busy!

Fantastic experience: I thought it was important to give a balanced review that reflected truthful points and information. I have been a member for 8 years and from Personal Training with Sam to all of the other classes I feel the gym offers a wide range of both choice and challenges. The gym is not dirty and the equipment is not out of date. There are plenty of sprays to clean down after your workout. During Royal Ascot week there are restrictions to the opening times, this is needed as you can’t get near the gym with the Ascot traffic and racegoers. This is a very friendly gym offering an opportunity to become fit and healthy amongst positive upbeat people.

Fantastic experience: Over the last few years, I'd started to neglect my health and my exercise regime was non-existent. I'd put on weight and was generally feeling terrible. I'd had a few attempts at getting back into exercising but would fail to make any real progress and quickly fall back into bad habits. I'd make excuses for not pushing myself: busy running a business, looking after my young kids etc. After a couple of health scares and being acutely aware I wasn't getting any younger, I met John Pye who told me of the Metabolic Makeover (MM) course he was offering at Fitness Space Ascot. I signed up and it was one of the best decisions I've made. On day 1 I went to Fitness Space for my first metabolic testing, where PT Dom was on hand to run me through a series of tests that helped establish my current levels. Based on that he was able to put a training plan together and nutritional advice tailored for me personally. The training plan consisted of a mix of resistance/strength training, Zone 2 running and HIIT. I went back for my second test (at the end of the MM course) and I've lost 11kg in 3 months (while making big gains in muscle growth) and increased my cardiovascular health massively. I feel better than I have in 10 years (at least!) and am now able to play with my 1 and 4 year old sons without exhausting myself. It's been life changing and I'm forever grateful to both John and Dom for their support. Yes, there's a large element of self responsibility required to make these changes but without their help and the accountability I felt, I don't know that I would have ever been able to make these improvements. I'm already looking forward to repeating the test in another 3 months. As for the gym itself - it's fully equipped, clean and got all the equipment you'd need as far as I can tell. It had been a while since I'd used a gym but I was really impressed by the quality of their equipment and how high tech the treadmills are for example. Thanks again!

Negative experience: I have been a loyal member of The Fitness Space for over 13 years, but I am deeply disappointed with the recent increase in my membership fee, which goes against the terms of my contract. This is just one of the many issues that have plagued this gym over the years. Firstly, the cleanliness of the gym is unacceptable. The facilities are dirty, and there are no cleaners employed to maintain hygiene standards. The machines are outdated and frequently break down, taking an excessive amount of time to be repaired. This severely impacts the quality of workouts and overall experience. The gym offers only two spin classes a week, which is insufficient for members seeking diverse workout options. Additionally, the parking space is extremely limited, causing inconvenience for those who drive to the gym. Another major issue is the inconsistent and early closing times, especially over weekends, Christmas, Easter and during the Ascot racecourse. This lack of accessibility makes it difficult for members to maintain a regular fitness routine. The locker rooms are also in a poor state, with many lockers broken and unusable. Despite these numerous problems, the only positive aspect of the gym is the trainers, who are knowledgeable and dedicated. Unfortunately, the owner, John, seems indifferent to these concerns. His lack of care for clients has led to many long-term members leaving the gym. It’s disheartening to see a place with such potential being neglected and mismanaged. I hope this feedback prompts some much-needed changes to improve the gym for all its members.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We deeply value input from all our members. It’s truly disheartening to hear that our 13-year relationship has ended on a negative note. We’ve worked hard to keep our membership packages affordable, but rising costs have made it necessary to adjust a 13 year old corporate package. Whilst we were able to maintain a loyalty discount it had to be increased slightly just to be sustainable. Our aim with pricing is to remain competitive and offer exceptional value whilst also being reflective of the quality and value provided by our dedicated team and services. As a boutique gym, we take pride in offering a class timetable that evolves to meet our members' needs. Our current schedule includes three spin classes per week, we accept this is a shift from daily offerings. All timetable adjustments are due to attendance trends and new innovations. There are further bike based classes currently available including all our on demand, head-set solutions. We will continually assess and adjust our classes based on feedback and demand, and our latest schedule is always available on our website. Our aim is to offer a mix of classes that are both effective, popular as well as utilising the skills of our in-house experts. Regarding parking, we’re fortunate to have ample space for all our members. We do monitor the situation and currently allow and share with other businesses to utiluse our spaces. We do this to support our community and recognise our customers are also utilising other services so we can help with convenience. If this becomes unsustainable, there is scope to address. Besides our own, there is also additional free parking across the road on Ascot High Street available all year other than the big race days. The only time transportation is an issue is during the Royal Ascot 5 days. During those days we control the parking,however the 300,000 visitors do cause traffic in the evenings that we have little solution for, hence we restrict the opening hours to 5 pm for those 4 days. We’re always happy to discuss any concerns with our members. However, most people appreciate what the Racecourse brings to the area and accept it does come with some inconvenience. We try to minimize this but some of it is just outside our control and we just have to embrace. Our gym operates from 0600 to 2100 Monday to Thursday, 0600 to 2000 on Friday and from 0800 to 1700 on weekends. These hours have been tailored to member attendance patterns and have worked well for us. However, this doesn’t mean we won’t consider adjustments to them in the future, as we have extended over the past 15 years. We also now have all the on- demand and virtual solutions as well as online programming that can be accessed globally and nutritional testing in your own home. We have always provided services that extend beyond our facilities. I understand that our reduced hours during bank holidays and festive celebrations can be inconvenient. However, we only close for 4 days each year (Christmas day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Easter Sunday). The adjustments do allow the majority to attend on these days but they also allow our team to enjoy necessary rest and maintain a positive, sustainable work environment. We do aim to look after people's wellbeing on a 24/7 basis but just not all via facility opening. We want to express our sincere gratitude for your 13 years of membership with us. This milestone is significant, and we take great pride in the long-term relationships we build with our members. It makes it even more unfortunate to see the relationship end. It has been a pleasure having you as part of Fitness Space family. Thank you once again for being a valued member.

Frankly, I don’t quite know where to begin with this testimonial. Do I thank you for inspiring me to change my lifestyle? Get myself healthier for the benefit of myself, and my family around me? Do I thank you for helping me to better understand why my previous endeavours to lose weight and get healthier have always been un-rewarding hard work, destined to fail? Fantastic experience: This year after losing interest in lockdown and trying to get into classes and the gym I discussed personal training with John, I took the plunge and hard at the beginning it’s been amazing, changing my fitness regime has had amazing results, I’m slimmer, more energetic, focused and feel calmer overall. Fantastic experience: My apologies..I inadvertently gave a 4-star rating when in fact they do deserve a 5-star rating for the following reasons: 1) Location - the studio I use is conveniently located just off Ascot high street 2) Parking – more than enough for members. Priority was even given to Fitness Space customers during Royal Ascot! 3) Facilities - clean and spacious, indoor air quality is good and the temperature is set just right. If you're worried about COVID, members sanitize equipment after use. 4) Equipment - new and technological; good combination of machines and free weights. Plus a wide range of classes to choose from - yoga, cycling, boxing etc 5) Technology – members have access to an app with many useful features including nutrition, workouts for home, tracking personal stats etc 6) Staff - professional, competent and courteous. If you want to take a step toward healthier living my advice is to find a Fitness Space closest to you!

Fantastic experience: It might be a small gym but it’s mighty in what it offers! Great equipment, amazing classes that challenge you & are so varied that you don’t get bored or complacent. Dan, Sam & Josh are amazing running the classes - so upbeat, passionate & way too energetic at 6/7am (many other classes throughout the day but early classes work for me, my family & job) - such a fantastic team. Shout out to Dan as I’ve had many PT sessions with him - great guy, great structure to sessions & really knows how to make you get the most out of the session that you ache in places you didn’t know existed!

Positive experience: I was a member of this gym - it is a little small especially the chaning facilities - on a number of occasions i think he is the manager comes in has a really smelly No 2 (Dump) and it absolutely stinks the mens changing room out as there is only 1 toilet. Apart from that the equipment is quite good but again a really small gym with friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Fitness Space in Ascot is hands down the best gym I’ve been a member of. All the trainers are super approachable, friendly and professional - always there to help and a great team who clearly love what they do too. Classes are great (variety of whatever you need) and love the fact that there’s a close partnership with MyZone too. Plus, all the equipment you’ll need and always kept clean. Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at The Fitness Space since 2008!! It is the friendliest gym I have been a member of. All the trainers & instructors are extremely knowledgeable and have a great knack of keeping the classes, (of which there are many), varied whilst always being challenging. They understand your goals and really invest in you achieving them. There is a great selection of both machine based equipment and hand weights, together with a full studio timetable of classes. Sam, Stephen John and Paul also run tailored workshops throughout the year on their chosen fields of expertise. If you’re looking for a friendly, professional gym close to Ascot I believe They Fitness Space is a great choice! Been back at the Fitness Space since it’s reopened after lockdown, and been very impressed. The measures they have put in makes it feel incredibly clean & safe with cleaning stations all around the gym. Good to see all the instructors Love the“lane” system they have in place gives you a great work out again whilst feeling safe Would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: This lockdown has been very frustrating as I have been making great strides with my fitness thanks to Josh and I love going to this gym for my one to one sessions. Fantastic experience: I am missing my gym and specifically my amazing trainer Sam. This gym has taught me how to use a gym and not be intimidated by the machines. I have many routines I can use when I am in. Great and friendly staff too. Always clean and managed Covid compliancy brilliantly.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous, friendly and supportive gym. Over the years my goals have varied and the team have shown fabulous support to help me reach them. They have tailored programs specifically for my needs and following a period of illness took particular care to help me get back to my previous fitness levels. During the the last 12 months they have gone above and beyond to support their members and provide us with connections to help our mental wellbeing as well as physical in what is a challenging time for us all. They reinvest in the gym with new equipment and refreshing classes, highly recommend!

Positive experience: Great if you don’t like huge soulless gyms, it personal and helpful, I’m not good at training alone so the classes are good and they do plenty of offers of personal training, Josh is incredibly encouraging and actually listens to the exercises you do and don’t like and actually makes working out fun.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I visit Fitness Space regularly for personal training sessions with Josh. The sessions that he plans for us are varied and hard enough to push (and help improve) our fitness, while still being fun. We think that (although the gym is small) it is well equipped and has plenty for us to do. Our sessions are midweek and at lunch times, but we have never found any problems with over crowding or being able to use the equipment that we want. The staff have always been very friendly to us and the overall set up is well organised and professional. We are missing our visits at the moment and look forward to the time that the gym can open up again and we can return.

Positive experience: Never been much of a gym person but thought to give it a go & I was very impressed. The gym is well equipped, clean & has all I need. Fantastic experience: Great little gym that has been extremely helpful during all the lockdown confusion. I’ve enjoyed chats with the staff, who have kept us motivated and in good spirits. Fantastic experience: This is a community not just a gym! It's like being part of the family and despite the current circumstances all the staff have gone above and beyond; online free classes included in membership, challenges to make lockdown worth living, xmas eve zoom class, etc. One of their PTs, Josh sends meal plans and did live cooking classes during lockdown to help us stay fit and healthy in front of the tele. It is honestly a lovely place and you won't regret signing up! (Highly recommended)

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at this gym for nearly 3 years .I absolutely love everything about it . Yes it is a small space but the classes and gym are managed so well. I’ve been a member at other gyms and have never felt part of a community before like I do at fitness space. The staff are friendly, caring and professional. Covid times have been difficult for everyone However this gym has gone above and beyond , being diverse , forward thinking and helping in anyway they possibly can . They have kept me just about sane . Love you guys

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for a few years. I really want to love exercise but haven't ever quite got to that stage, however, this gym has managed to keep me commited and going for 2 years now. The gym has all the equipment I need and a great range of classes during 'normal' times. During Covid times they have really stepped up to the challenge and there is definitely enough to do between live classes, virtual training, recorded clases and access to other apps. I have to attribute part of my commitment to my trainer Sam, she has encouraged me throughout and kept me returning! I didnt think I would ever say I cant wait for the gym to reopen!!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for a few years (on and off around a broken ankle - I had no problems with freezing my membership whilst I couldn't attend), and I cannot rate it highly enough. All the coaches are brilliant and always happy to help with equipment assistance/ programme help / technique assistance. The classes are really varied and work you hard! I have regular PT sessions which have been amazing, seen changes physically & in my lifestyle with advice on nutrition and programme setting between sessions. (My coach is Sam and she's brilliant)! Although it is small - I think that's a bonus. I have gotten to know the coaches & other members which makes the gym super friendly. Also through the pandemic there's always classes and support even by way of a chat on the members facebook page!

Negative experience: This gym is a SCAM , please save your money and invest into a proper gym, as they would exploit and harass you to pay for a membership that you cancelled a month ago !
Because of the services we offer with some of the memberships we stipulate and want it clear to everyone that the flexible/rolling membership requires one further full months payment as notice. In other words, which ever month we are currently in at any given time you are committed to the next month and we require notice to [email protected]. No notice is required on the upfront memberships. We aren't sure when you were a member but we do try and make every effort to be transparent so we can focus on our members results.
Negative experience: Nothing wrong with the facilities at this gym although a little small I never had any issues getting on the equipment I wanted. You could get more facilities for the same or less money at other gyms like David Lloyd but would not get this exclusive feel. Unfortunately the structure behind the running of this gym seems to be incredibly dysfunctional and despite me following all the correct steps for cancelling my membership I was met with what I can only describe as scare tactics and bullying to get payment for the gym that I did not owe. 2 days after a payment was apparently due the first email I received from the gym was not just to advise me of a missed payment but also threatened me with a CCJ within 7 days and bailiffs to get the money from me. As I was abroad on holiday at the time this resulted in unwanted stress and cost to resolve and despite the clear evidence I owed nothing they still insisted I pay. It was only due to family helping me sort this back home that this was resolved and my fairly young credit history goes unblemished. The gym were still adamant that this email was not "intended to be threatening" Sort out your back of house admin you only have a small membership pool to manage and you can't treat people like that! Would not recommend!
Apologies for the delay in response. Sorry you feel this way about us. We always want to be better. We hope our cancellation policy on the rolling / flexible membership is clear. One full month's payment post notice given to [email protected]. Ie the next month's payment in full with the membership ending at the end of that month. Other memberships are available.
Fantastic experience: A terrific and well equipped little gym. I am jealous that there isn't a similar facility in Framlingham where I live! I was only in Ascot for two days, but they accommodated my situation superbly. They also have a fantastic 'hot Yoga' room, where I took two excellent classes with a superb instructor.
