Fantastic experience: Having an excellent experience with facility. The Sauna and steam room are lovely, and my Gym experience had been top notch we my PT Tom motivating me on each set to push harder than I could imagine!

Positive experience: I have been a member for 1+ year and wanted to share my feedback and my decision to leave. Pros: - Tennis classes for all levels; - Nice badminton courts; - Location; Cons: - during rush hour it is almost impossible to park but at the same time they keep looking for new clients / money; - facilities are old, the club requires renovation; - during summer hot days at indoor tennis courts it becomes unbearable to play because the roof is made from metal and as a result the temperature inside gets too high for comfortable play. They do not have air conditioning to solve this; - as I mostly play tennis and as I said above that during warm period playing indoor becomes uncomfortable - I considered to leave the club and join again for a cold period. But, the funny part... You cannot leave immediately, you should give them a 3 months notice! That is insane... - I knew that there is an option to freeze the membership. But even here they try to make money from you. Wanna freeze - pay 25%. Literally for nothing;

Fantastic experience: Joined the gym for some very personal reasons and booked PT sessions with Tom, to really understand how to use the equipment for my benefit. I can honestly say I am really enjoying working with him, and gaining his knowledge and understanding on how to change my fitness and body in the ways I want. Tom always has time to answer my questions and to show me what I need to do, he is encouraging and I feel very comfortable in the gym both with him and when working out alone. Whilst ensuring that I work as hard as I can, Tom facilitates a very enjoyable session, that I look forward to. Highly recommend, I am already feeling better, fitter and more confident.

Fantastic experience: I rejoined DL Ipswich this year principally to play tennis. The coaching staff there are superb. Ollie Sutton who leads this team takes time to identify how the he, the club and his team can help you, and then makes it happen! The opportunity for competitive tennis is great with local and national league tennis to suit all playing standards. Club championship tournaments are also organised by Ollie. As a new member, Ollie and Andy introduced me to many other members and the opportunity for social tennis is plentiful. It is clear the junior section of the club is thriving. I have grown up ‘kids’ who played a lot of tennis and so have a bit of experience here! The junior sessions look great fun and the coaching is first class. Add the gym, pool and bar to the first class rackets section and it’s an excellent, first class membership package. Thanks Ollie and Andy

Fantastic experience: Really pleased I joined earlier this year. It seems a very friendly place with genuinely welcoming and helpful people working there, in all areas. I really enjoy the classes I’ve been attending such as Blaze- excellent instructors! My experience of tennis at David Lloyd so far has been great. The coaches and other members have been incredibly encouraging and inclusive. The group coaching sessions I’ve attended with Andrew have been challenging, well paced and a lot of fun. Fantastic experience: I’m a member in Newbury but always book a lesson with Andrew Knights at the Ipswich David Lloyd when visiting family nearby. He’s an exceptional coach, he’s great at drilling down on technique and really honing in on how you can improve. He has a great sense of humour and the lessons are always fun. I cannot recommend him more highly.

Fantastic experience: On my arrival I was greeted by two lovely ladies at reception sorry I forgot your names, a very warm welcome and was shown to the lounge to await my tour. I sat with Luke who asked me about what I wanted out of the membership, I was very impressed with how he wanted to know about me and if the club was suitable for what I wanted to achieve. His awareness to the wellbeing of members and achieving their goals was nice to hear as it was not just about a physical achievement but also your mental wellbeing. The club is a lovely place and didn’t feel like it was over crowded, he explained about classes that can be taken and gave me a full tour. The staff are very friendly and I don’t think anyone would be able to find fault with it. I highly recommend taking a visit to see if you'd like it, I loved it.

Positive experience: Staff are great, good facilities, yummy food. The downside is having to queue to get in every time as the e card doesn't work and head office refuse to issue a physical card.

Fantastic experience: Superb gym to be honest, really clean facilities, friendly staff! Had a few PT sessions since joining the gym at the start of the month with Taylor and she's been amazing. She's super kind and welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable with everything fitness related to help you train more effectively and overall a really genuinely lovely person that takes time to listen to what you're aiming for so she can cater things nicely for you. Huge thanks for helping with the start of me getting back into the gym!

Negative experience: I tried to enquire about joining at the front desk but they said they couldn’t give me any information on prices, I tried calling but there was no answer, I put my details into an online enquiry and have had no reply months on. I attended the gym as a guest to consider joining, Indoor pool area smelled very strongly of wee, completely put me off joining.

Fantastic experience: Met with Ben for a guided tour, facilities were very impressive. Everywhere was clean and well maintained. Ben was amazing, he gave me all the information I need to make an informed decision. Sadly it's over my budget at the moment, if I could afford it, I'd definitely join!!

Negative experience: Don't bother. This gym is crowded, tired, and under maintained. This gym simply has too many members. You are likely to have to queue to use pieces of gym equipment, struggling to get a space to change and shuffling past people in the crowded changing rooms. The equipment needs an update or better maintenance. There are multiple treadmills out of order, step machines out of order, equipment seats have tears and damage. I have cancelled my membership. I pay £123 a month and just want to get in and out for a workout. Edit: The response from David Lloyd is that the Club Manager was asked contact me. No contact has been made.

Fantastic experience: Recently joined David Lloyd's and loving it. As well as a fabulous facility, the staff are great. Luke's positivity convinced me, to sign up, and I haven't been dissapointed. My personal training sessions with Tracey Fraser-Ryan have been really just that, personally tailored to my needs. I have felt she really listened and understood me. As a pensioner, and a returner to a Gym after 30 years, I was somewhat nervous ; I needn't have been. I have been made to feel welcomed and valued. What a lovely place to spend time and invest in well being.

Negative experience: So, today I went as a guest to try out DL in Ipswich. I'm just going to say it as it is...firstly the food is great, can't fault it. However trying to use the app to deliver food to the pool area wasn't working and staff refused to serve you unless you had your clothes on. Staff were not helpful in this respect and pretty much didn't go out of their way to help. When your food does arrive pool side a bell rings at a collection point where its just left. No one knows if it's actually their food so multiple trips across the pool area happens which is a crazy process. Heres a suggestion, why not send a text to collect your food from the pool bar. The changing areas are spotless and so are the toilets. The jacuzzi wasn't working and staff were not helpful in getting this sorted. Several tiles were off at the bottom and more came off as I heaved myself out. My view of the rusty roof with huge holes in was nice. The faded plastic flowers in the plant pots by the pool are not a good look. They reminded me of an ancient grave I once saw in Poland. Watching a man try to murder a seagull in front of his children and others because it ate a piece of his burger was frightening. If our group had not stepped in to stop him that seagull would have been kicked to death. I didn't like the atmosphere around the pool at all. It's a bit of a meat market to be honest and I got bored of seeing men and women strutting their stuff. Listen to the life guard...go look after your young children you've left in the pool on their own. I've decided DL in Ipswich is not for me.

Fantastic experience: Great service from Ben made me feel very welcome for my first day. Was very helpful when regarding to help with the introductory PT sessions giving great advice on who to go with that would suit my style of training.

Fantastic experience: Just signed up to get a membership with Ben, he walked me through the whole gym and showed me all the facilities, Ben explained and answered all my questions I had, 100% recommend. Lovely experience.

Negative experience: Paying £180 a month you expect a lot more. Gym is always dirty, weights scattered around the gym, personal training team don't seem to try and tidy up takes 5 minutes. But they are happy to stand chatting and propping the building up. More recently multiple club closures due to water problems and now issues with the pool being closed on and off. Was wanting to upgrade our family membership to use other sites got told it was an extra £174 each and just think it isn't worth it. Only decent staff there are the reception team and the bar staff. Very disappointed and will be cancelling our family membership to go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: We've recently joined as a family and are loving it so far. Facilities and classes are great. I've had a few PT sessions with Tracy which have been a lovely reintroduction to the gym. She was very helpful and informative, taking into account my individual needs and preferences, particularly helping me with some fitness struggles I've had postnatally. Her specialist advice was super useful.

Fantastic experience: This is a write up for the David Lloyd Club in Ipswich. Myself and a friend booked a tour of the facilities recently. We were duly impressed with what was on offer. The Sales Consultant who took us around the club was very pleasant, helpful and informative. We also enjoyed a nice cup of coffee, on the house, after the tour. Unfortunately, the club was a bit too far off the beaten track for us, but for anyone who lives close by or doesn’t mind driving to get there we would certainly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Always a reliable gym! They have great facilities for regular gym goers, a lot of different kind of classes, even activities for families with young kids. I recently had a PT session with Poppy as well who was very attentive to my needs, kind and patient throughout my session. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I was a bit apprehensive about joining as I knew it would be expensive as was worried about getting value for money. Ben greeted me and we had a tour around the club. I felt really relaxed and Ben was so helpful and kind. Since signing up, both my 14 year old daughter and myself have really loved the facilities.... get to spend quality time together too! Ben has still been available for me to answer any questions and believe me, I have a lot. Both the club and Ben have been great!

Positive experience: I recently joined the Ipswich DL - the sign up was easy and Kate was very helpful with providing details of options and the freebies! The PT I saw was also very good, knowledgable and thorough. All staff have been great. I want to use the business hub on a regular basis but the aircon is way to cold to sit and work, so that has not been the best.

Fantastic experience: Had my first tour of the building this morning with Luke. I didn’t even have to ask many questions as the tour was super detailed, easy and informative. I was greeted with a smile upon entering and then Luke brought a bright positive energy with him when we met, as well as sorting me a coffee, top man. I never felt like I was being pitched a membership, it was as if I was talking to a buddy. Overall it was smooth and I can’t wait to actually start my membership. The club has everything I could want or need and the staff there seem so friendly and clued up, it fits my goals perfectly so it’s an easy 5* from me

Fantastic experience: I love my visits to David Lloyd, Ipswich especially Jade Jamieson's yoga sessions and Sound Meditation (twice a week if I can get a space) plus a swim in the outdoor pool and the spa/sauna. All of the staff are friendly and cheerful. Kate B was really helpful especially in helping me sort out an issue I had with the membership app.
