Positive experience: Cheap enough so affordable for pretty much anyone. Some of the furniture is comfortable enough so you can catch up on TikTok and other social media. Or just have a chat. Don’t worry you can wear make up and not actually do much physical activity. At that price why not? Oh there’s a handful of people like myself that do actually go there to work out as well, nearly forgot that bit.
Positive experience: Spaceous, well designed gym floor with new and relevant equipment. Friendly, efficient well trained staff. Would be 5 ⭐ but let down by changing rooms. Still, highly recommend. Best, John @JWfit

Fantastic experience: Never really been a big gym fan until now.I needed a boost to get fit. At about £14 you can't go wrong. It's their cheapest package. For that I get to use all of the machines which are very varied. I think there are lockers to keep your belongings in. You need to tap in your PIN to enter or scan the QR code which you can do from the app. Same for leaving the gym. You can pay about £4 on top of your membership to get unlimited flavoured water which does make a change from water. Just bring your own bottle. I am impressed by the amount of different equipment machines etc there which offers something for everyone. Although it is open 24 hours the staff finish at 8pm. They have several personal trainers who can help you reach your targets for a fee as I am. They will give you a tour/induction on request.

Fantastic experience: So glad I signed up for membership at Gym Group Croydon Purley Way. It’s one of their bigger locations, with a great range of machines and equipment, and the class area is cornered off for privacy. The PT Elliot Modi in particular has been brilliant - he’s helped so much with my form so that I can prevent injuries, and in the couple of months I’ve been training with him I’m already starting to see the results. He has a really great style and makes you feel so comfortable; his classes are just the right pace, and super reasonable PT rates too - cannot recommend him highly enough!!
Positive experience: The gym is spacious..comfortable place to workout but the best part of this gym is the Zumba class by Rochelle ...she really make sure you get a good workout and she has a nice personality. Alot of ladies only do zumba so I'm glad it's 2times a week instead of one,without this class this gym will loose members.

Fantastic experience: Nice spacious gym, lots of little & great staff
Fantastic experience: Loads of machines, not just single ones but double ones so your not waiting for someone to finish. Very clean, the cleaner is in there every day. Spacious too, every though there's lots of different machines it's not compact so still have plenty of room to walk around without trying to dodge people or machines. Free parking too

Positive experience: The activity gym areas could do with some sprucing up and high impact changes (the weights areas are very crowded even at off-peak times). There’s a note saying the toilets will undergo refreshment on 8 Aug, could this be indicated on the app? I wonder if dry clanging areas could be included. Choice of music: sounds like a night club. Small provisions do make a big difference, I’m certain gym spatial consultants for the business would have done their research to know what’s best for the budget given - more can be done with the space that you have here at purley.

Fantastic experience: Have been a member of this gym on and off since 2018, due to travelling. I have been a member of various Gym Group gyms in south London and also in Birmingham. The Gym Group Croydon Purley Way is by far and away the BEST Gym Group gym I've had the pleasure of training in! It is always clean, from the gym floor to the changing rooms and showers - the whole gym is spotless. What I like the most about this gym is the layout, the free weights area is SPACIOUS, which allows for efficient workouts. Also I like that the group exercise class area has privacy screens - and when classes are not in session, members can use the area to exercise with a bit more privacy, if they choose to. I hope more Gym Group gyms (and other 24 hour gyms in general) follow the leading example this gym has set.

Fantastic experience: I have a live it membership so have trained at multiple TheGym’s and Purley way is definitely the best in terms of equipment and vibe. Been a dedicated member for 5 + years now and have not ever felt to go anywhere else. The most superior gym in Croydon for sure. The classes and staff also make the gym that much better special mention to Rochelle’s Zumba class on Tuesdays and Thursdays; by far the most popular class at the gym <3

Positive experience: There used to be so much more equipment but they got rid of half their cardio machines so it feels awkward and crowded. Quality has gone down. The upkeep on most of the machinery is poor. There will be odd issues with machines that go unfixed. E.g. some of the cross trainers feel loose and clicky. The music is too loud which is annoying because we all wear headphones anyway no one wants to listen to royalty free music in the background of their own music. Zoning is odd and like I said before it feels crowded even when you go when it’s supposed to be quiet. To management: it was better before please stop messing with the layout and fix your machines.
