Opened in 1997 our safe, clean swimming pool measures 20m x 8.5m. The water depth is 0.9m, graduating to maximum depth of 1.5m in the deepest part of the pool.
We pride ourselves on the high standard of our water quality and the cleanliness of the whole facility. We are very much a family pool and love to encourage youngsters, swimming is the best exercise you can take with no impact injury.
We run at a temperature of 29°C most days and heat the water to 30°C on Sundays (excluding July & August) for Family time, this is better for younger kids.
As well as the pool we have a gym and fitness suite. These facilities are available during pool opening hours. We have a new improved spectator area with self service tea and coffee facilties.
Anything you could possibly need for a swim! Swimming costumes, goggles, arm bands, baby rings and towels. It is also possible to purchase swim-nappies for small children, hair drier tokens and toiletries.
To ensure that all our customers are able to enjoy their swim in the way they most prefer, we have sessions which are designated for specific groups of people. These are all shown on the timetable and include; Aquacise, over 50s and family time. When one session runs into another we ask that users exit the water at least 10 minutes before the changeover, please allow for this.
We have designated parking for wheelchair users and ramps with handrails at the entrance. We have changing/shower facilities with access straight onto the poolside. These are equipped with an adjustable height shower bed, and ceiling hoist. For people who have difficulty with steps, a poolside hoist is available to safely lift swimmers in and out of the water.
The Pool has a small team of full-time staff who do a fantastic job of running the facilities on a daily basis, as well as making customers feel welcome and providing the best assistance possible. The permanent staff are assisted by volunteers without whom we could not manage.

Fantastic experience: Nice peaceful site
Fantastic experience: Lovely little town with small harbour and some nice small independent shops, cafes and eating places. There is even a cookery school with reasonable daily charges. We were passing through and so glad we stopped and had a walk around.
Fantastic experience: Great place for a night stay in your camper van their is 5 hook up so 1st come 1st served. If they are full there is plenty of room hard standing at the football pitches

Fantastic experience: Stayed overnight on a campervan pitch for one night, fantastic stop over , £15 per night with electric , Eleanor point and freshwater hose , good value for money I think you could swim for free on that payment , £ 1 for a shower , literally 5 minutes walk I to Kirkcudbright, lovely town , fantastic butchers bakeries and pubs , Tescos close by visit this place , Artists town , we bought a lovely picture
Fantastic experience: Overnight stop unplanned, warm welcome by the staff, quiet night sleep. Took a walk around town the butchers shop is top top quality at reasonable prices a must. Bakers too, had a beer or two in the pub. Would recommend, weather prevented further exploration. 5*

Fantastic experience: This is a fabulous pool. The staff are polite and welcoming. The life guards are particularly amiable and professional. They are constantly trying new things. Fun days have been great for kids and there's also plenty of time set aside for older swimmers. As someone who goes regularly, I can't recommend it highly enough.
Negative experience: Very disappointed to see the pool advertised as being open, only to arrive and discover it is closed. Please update your website. I have a very disappointed little boy.

Fantastic experience: 1 hour swim for £3 (seniors rate). They also have a sauna but we did not use it so can't comment. We used the pool several times during our week in Kirkcudbright.

Negative experience: I have to concur with the comments about the signs, they're not funny. Telling tourists not to shower for to long as you have bills to pay gives the wrong impression. I'm very local and I don't like them so I don't know what visitors to the area would think. Additionally after 20 minutes the staff turned off the music and the staff tidied up the pool. When I asked if the pool was closing I was told that staff where 'having a tidy up'. Some families (mine included) felt uncomfortable and exited the pool. Have to question the timing there and the impact on customers. On a positive note it's a good pool with easy parking just needs work on customer service and signage.
The signs do not "tell tourists" not to linger in the showers, they are for anyone, we get a lot of people standing in the shower for ages waiting on friends etc, our heating bills run to around £4,000 per month and we would not put signs up if there was no need. Positive experience: Nice pool but poorly managed with antisocial messages to pool users on the walls like" don't stay in the shower long as we have to pay the bill !!!!!" And this is a talc free zone , DO YOUR TALCING AT HOME !. aggressive and could be worded more appropriately explaining why they wanted us not to use talc. I felt like I was a problem rather than a valued customer .
When the staff tried to explain that the signs were meant to be light hearted and tongue in cheek you got aggressive and started shouting and swearing, when the staff asked you to leave you got worse and refused to leave, hardly a fair review in the circumstances and having watched the CCTV of your behavior have contacted the Police.

Positive experience: This pool includes a gym and sauna the only thing is the water could do to be a bit warmer. Tea and coffee is available and if your under 16 you can swim for free on Saturdays which is encouraging. My kids get swimming lessons here staff are really patient and the cost is very reasonable.
Positive experience: Okay, nice little park outside and quite quaint. Didn't enjoy the showers whatsoever though. But a great place to have a laugh!
Fantastic experience: My friend and I had a great time in a most beautiful swimming pool, we both have walking problems so the nice wide steps into the pool was brilliant. The only problem we had was finding the pool, we turned off the main street and then there were no more signs showing us the way, it took us approximately fifteen minutes to find the pool. But it was well worth the trouble.
