Fantastic experience: Amazing Gym

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff, very friendly. Enormous amount of machines and weights, great for bodybuilding. The people here are also to themselves so don’t feel insecure about coming.

Positive experience: This gym is old school, it has the big push vibe. It would be great, but it is let down by cleanliness and overall maintenance standards, every thing is just a bit banged up, ripped or grubby. But the kitchen is clean and it has a huge selection of machines and weights, even though you do need to do a mini safety check before using each one .

Positive experience: Staff nice firstly Equipment wide range but sadly needs a lot of TLC a lot of missing grips, carabineers, chunks out weights and base boards, missing pins, found bolts all over. I spent longer trying to find matching free weights then using them. Bars, weights and all manner of attachments all over the floors and walkways nearly broke my neck more than once. In summary huge potential but needs some investment and floor walkers to keep people acting right. De-rack it Re- stack it

Positive experience: Very good gym depending on what your goals are, if you’ve been working out for a while and want to make serious gains then I would recommend training here, machine for every muscle group even forearms, it has the aesthetic of old school bodybuilding which some would love (including me) but I can imagine someone being a beginner and feeling overwhelmed and judged as it can feel a little cliquey with some of the people that train there. Things that let it down are the toilets, it’s cash only, the building is very old and it’s on its last legs, plates are not in great shape and clips on cable machines are always missing.

Fantastic experience: Because of my job I travel everywhere in England and I’ve been to so many gyms in London and outside of London, this one is the best. I love this gym!

Negative experience: Not a very welcoming place cash only no cashpoint around dumbbells are awful falling apart cables have pins from scrap metal look like they where found in a skip ropes weel surprised they actually are still usable really felt uncomfortable here been twice now not going back even guys that have been going there for years one said to me mate I don't really bother doing g arms I can't be bothered sorting threw that all the time nobody shares machines all horrible negatives really not worth the money I bought a day pass and went in for 1 hour on my break and said to the fella after work ill pop back in he said you have to pay for a nother pass it's a session pass not a day so many negatives

Negative experience: Overrated an understatement. Very unwelcoming, cash only??? All plates need replacing, extremely tired looking. Weights all over the floor, no mirror space. Havent used this gym in 12 years and its no money or even maintenance done on the place in that time.

Positive experience: I go to Monster Gym for personal training. For extra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lessons as well as strength and conditioning. The Gym is well equipped but it's all looking a bit tired. It could do with brightening up and other maintenance. It's a good Gym if your serious about getting fit

Fantastic experience: I come back to the uk to visit my parents and can’t wait to get to monster gym. Paul Rees the boxing coach is an absolute diamond and I learnt more from him in one session than I did in 4 years at boxing gyms where I train. The gym itself is probably the best gym I have ever visited and the atmosphere is totally non threatening to anyone, a total lack of arrogance or snobiness so anyone can train there comfortably. I can’t give this gym enough praise and I hope they continue doing the fantastic job they do

Positive experience: Monster Gym is quite a large gym it's also dark as there isnt much lighting. The ground floor is set up with machines/equipment and free weights. These are all a bit haggered and broken in parts. The first floor is split into 2 sections. One section offers mostly bikes. The other section offers punch bags, a boxing ring, mats and another sparring area. Could do with a bit of a refurbishment as the roof leaks and it can be drafty. The mats could be kept better as can be dirty and got some rips.

Negative experience: Does not say anything about cash only wat gym does cash only

Fantastic experience: Best Gym Around, Can't match it, the Range of Hammer Strength machines to Exercise every muscle group in different ways hitting every section of that muscle. And there are plenty of machines for every muscle group, so if it's busy you can still train the muscle you intended to. Proper Body Building Gym.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym. I spent the first 4 years of my training at Monster Gym, and the experience was fantastic. I'm now a personal trainer based in Harlow, with a thriving client base, and it roots all the way back to Monster Gym. Looking forward to re-visiting one day soon!

Fantastic experience: Great gym great atmosphere! First time here and felt welcomed by the friendly staff ... the sparing area I used was fantastic and they also have a cage which was conviniant. Great equipment and very tidy! High sealing and well spaced. The kitchen area was spotless and the staff were ladies always a plus imo. The fans were not on as we were training so it was slightly hot whilst training but I'm sure if we mentioned to the staff then they would of a activated the fans. Other than that definitely a spot to train and release some stress.. the monster theme they have is quite impressive and works well . Thanks guys

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, great environment also clean and spacious.. really didn’t want to leave. Gentleman on the till yesterday was very professional and will definitely return! However I do recommend that they open some windows or put some fans on as it was a little hard to breathe.

Positive experience: Decent gym. But didn’t really feel welcomed first timing using this gym and when ever you go to a new gym your not going to be familiar with everything felt like I was looked down on for not knowing how to use things like I should be expected to know

Fantastic experience: Equipment not so new but it's all about training here no frills. Always have the regulars here and a great dedicated atmosphere which really helps for serious training. Great boxing equipment and cage area too which gives it a differential advantage against other modern gyms.

Positive experience: good gym, parking place is a bit of the problem. Gym itself - no match. Needs changing rooms and a proper shower rooms to be perfect. If you just go for a workout and don't care about showering after - perfection.

Fantastic experience: Good gym but equipment needs upgrade as some machines falling apart plus mens showers needs refurbishment and so called DJ whos playing the same music for last 2 years from the playback need to go !!!Honestly guys change the Dj and stop playing the same playlist everyday its annoying.
