Fantastic experience: We moved to southport from Spain six years ago and joined marshside health club its been a real bonus for us both the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable and you can have abit of fun with them we've both made lots of friends Elaine in the classes me in the weights room but the most important thing is the effect it has on our physical and mental health we both feel years younger than we are because we're probably more agile and stronger than alot of people our age and the feeling you get after exercise can only lift your mood for the rest of the day now with winter approaching it's even more important to get out of the house and not sit in watching telly all day the club is really great value for money with cardio room, weights room, loads of classes for all abilities and a sauna and swimming pool it's the hub of our community ❤️

Fantastic experience: I Moved to Marshside Health club last year. Very pleased. Very clean, easy booking system for swimming and fitness classes. The gym also has a great variety of weights and machines. Also really good value for money. The staff are always friendly and helpful too. Will be renewing this year too. Thanks MHC!

Positive experience: This is great club, competitively priced with extremely good staff. I attend 3 spin classes per week and these sessions are always excellent. The 3 main instructors Dan, Jeannene and Rebecca are first class ie offering different teaching styles which are gruelling and effective and this is exactly what I like. They are also great fun and the class camaraderie is superb. On occasion, Jenny fills in for the above instructors and she is a fantastic instructor too. She is very good technically and I would be pleased if Jenny got her own spin class as she really is that good. Please look into this suggestion with Jenny. The only downside with the club is when members are not allowed to use their changing rooms because children are in the pool. This is very unhelpful for those adult members wanting a shower post their club sessions. Children should be swimming in the day time and their presence should not interfere with adult members' presence in the changing rooms. The 2 cubicles on the first floor are awkward to use as a substitute as they are so small and hot. If necessary, children should be supervised by their teachers, a member of health club staff or their parents at all times ie leaving adult members access to their changing rooms at all times. Many thanks in anticipation of taking these comments into consideration and a thank you to all staff for making the club what it is.

Negative experience: Extremely rude staff utterly disappointed and moving to different gym. Very small claustrophobic place especially for changing, people do not seem to mind not having a shower before swimming. Happy to be changing the gym!

All staff are very friendly. and they are very family oriented. it has two swimming pools I use one of the pools three times a week They also have steam room, sauna , 2 gyms . And have a variety of different excercise classes The Membership prices are Very reasonable. And the club is very well kept and clean .

Fantastic experience: Great gym! FABULOUS classes! I do Body Pump, Body Combat, Aqua Aerobics and Zumba and enjoy them all! Body Pump is weight training and is hard, you will ache the next day, body combat is martial arts routines which can be picked up easily you will sweat! The pool is warm and the changing rooms are clean. All class teachers are really friendly and the room is air conned! Staff are friendly too!

Positive experience: Really great gym, very high quality equipment and facilities, family run with a nice welcoming atmosphere and I’ve never seen it be dirty before just really well run with all the equipment you could ever need. My only problem with the gym is, the opening hours but for 99% of people this isn’t an issue it’s just an issue for the minority of us that finish work at night so struggle to find time to train unfortunately, so due to that I’ve also got a membership at a local 24 hr gym for when I’m working (Pretty please stay open a bit later would be amazing like 11pm?) but yeah superb gym that is suitable for all sorts of people with all sorts of goals (Unless your a silly night owl like me who likes training at 10pm lol) give it a go

Fantastic experience: Really friendly gym and great atmosphere to achieve my goals. The layout makes good use of the space and the equipment is quality. I especially like the classes MHC which I can book in easily without any hassle. The club have two choices of pools as well as a sauna and stream room which I love, such great vibe in this gym, wouldn’t want to go anywhere else :)

Fantastic experience: This gym is the best in Southport it offers a wide range of classes from body combat to yoga, they offer two swimming pools one Olympic size training pool and a smaller, shallower pool, they also have a sauna and steam room to enjoy, not to mention the amazing cardio and weights rooms along with extra space to do own workouts. In addition to all the facilities they offer the staff are helpful and are super knowledgable about all the equipment which is used in the gym. As for prices they are extremely well priced for whats included. Marshside gym is the place to be!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym! It's a five-star fitness paradise. With two pools, including an Olympic one, I never get tired of swimming laps. The gym equipment is top-notch, and they offer an incredible variety of classes like "MHC X," "Body Pump," and "HIIT." The cherry on top is the sauna and steam room. It's an amazing value for the price, and I can't recommend it enough. Five stars all the way!

Positive experience: 1st day today in this gym not been in a gym for a few years, really great equipment good pools only issue is it's like a rabbit warren loads of corridors but will get used to it in time, overall really good experience very comfortable being in there.

Fantastic experience: I joined back in November with one of my friends. The gym is amazing! Great atmosphere, everyone is friendly. Always someone around for help & support. The range of equipment is brilliant. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Joined this gym the beginning of January and its the best choice I have ever made . .being so self contious I was nervous but no body judges you in here. staff are friendly and helpfull it as everything you need pool's are great and it's realy cheep would highly recommend its not only helped with my confidence but also my mental health I would give this place 5 starts and then some ....

Positive experience: Great gym with a good range of equipment. Pools are lovely and classes are fantastic too. Have been a member here for a few years now but there are a few things that let it down including that members cannot use the pool for certain times during the afternoon/evening due to swim classes taking place, there is a limit on the number of classes you can do each day and week and the communication is terrible - no response to emails I've sent and finding a staff member to book in with or talk to is almost impossible sometimes.

Negative experience: I joined the gym just to go swimming with my children. The pool was closed for 3 weeks just after I joined and when they reopened the times I could use it with my children was to such a point it made it useless. Plus there was a 25% price increase for them to use the pool. I cancelled my membership and asked for a refund as it was a missold membership and I have been blanked after 1 email. Absolutely disgraceful. Reply sent 5 months ago. To reply to them, look at your emails from me. There were about 9 plus, they explain the situation in full. You increased the cost of child admission to the pool by 25%. The statement is absolutely accurate. You should have better customer service and not blank people who require a refund for a error that your company made.

Negative experience: Today, I was treated with such amazing disrespect by a member of staff that I was left utterly gobsmacked. I ended up in a strong verbal confrontation with the individual, for apparently 'smashing the weights' and 'showing no respect'. For an old-school gym user, former competitive bodybuilder & powerlifter, who restacks the plates, returns the dumbells to the rack, etc, I am dumbfounded I've never been treated like that before, and I've trained in pretty much every gym in Southport. Membership about to be cancelled!!

The swimming pools are great and the equipment in the gym and all the other rooms is top notch. I am sure that Kevan our PT instructor will have us in shape in no time at all. It is honestly the 1st gym that I want to go back to time after time and I have stayed away from a lot of gyms

Positive experience: This is actually a decent little gym and has some good machines and free weights also on the site is 2 swimming pools and a boxing club. They do alsorts of classes and lessons for all levels of fitness and swimming the only down side is the isn't a very large car park and at peak times you have to park on the rd and it gets targeted by traffic wardens and I've known a number of people get tickets! Other wise I'd of given a 5 star rating

Positive experience: Joined recently and was a member previously as well. It's an ok gym with a good range of equipment. The weights area is very cramped and they have some really strange opening and closing times for weekends which is when I tend to go most. For example it closes at 3pm on a Sunday!! There are better equipped and cheaper gyms in the local area so if convenience is important then this would be a good option, but if opening times are important then maybe not.

GREAT Atmosphere and I have made lots of friends. We are individuals with different capabilities but we all support each other and get great encouragement from staff and other members. Would not go anywhere else. JUST THE BEST

Fantastic experience: My son trains here for Southport swimming club. It has fantastic facilities for gym members and is constantly being upgraded. There are a lot of different classes and is suitable for all age ranges. Very friendly staff who are always happy to help. The swim school really starts children well with all of their strokes and the technique puts them in a league above the rest. It has good progression through to the swimming club.
