Negative experience: I had been a member of this gym for some time, but I wouldn't recommend it. I recently cancelled my membership for numerous reasons (outlined below) but the attitude of the employees towards me changed drastically upon my request to cancel and it is evident that the primary concern of this gym is money, and not their reputation or customer satisfaction. I have been a member of numerous independent gyms, and my experience with the Gym Joint has been the most disappointing. The Kit Very average. For training legs, this gym is below average. The platforms are a DIY job; they're unstable and lacking robustness. The leg machines are lackluster, and, on the whole, simply feel terrible. Cybex leg press is constantly broken. There are no mirrors on the squat racks and they constantly say 'the mirrors are coming'; it's become a joke at this stage. Why no mirrors? This is a primary reason I cancelled, as I go to other gyms to train legs! The dumbbells are decent, as they go up to 75kg. Arm training is fair; tricep machines are good but bicep machines not great. Chest is below average; the pec fly is terrible (worst one I've ever used - common feeling). Only decent chest equipment is the nautilus press, and competition bench. Shoulders is average. For back, it's a mixed bag. If you're short you'll struggle with the back equipment. Cables are fine, attachments fine. The gym matting around the dumbbells is a major hazard, they're constantly slipping and moving. Overall, the Kit is very very average, nothing special. It is cheap equipment, attempting to have that 'old school body building feel'. Other Facilities Toilets are fine, although they do constantly have a drain smell. Parking is hit and miss depending on when you go. The gym gets very hot and muggy, as parts of the roof are plastic. The roof leaks very badly. Sound system is pretty poor, it just vibrates. Other Comments This gym is catering towards the 'instagram bodybuilding crowd', so be aware you'll be dodging tripods (if you really want to go, go early...). As mentioned above, this isn't the old school body building gym it's attempting to portray. Overpriced for what it is; they're overcharging for the product and it isn't worth the money. I certainly did not get value for money during my time as a member. It is worth noting that their emails do not send (for some unknown reason), so you could be waiting a while for any kind of response. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this gym at all; there are plenty of other options in the area that give better value for money, and a better experience.

Fantastic experience: Best Gym by far , great equipment great trainers and you never have to wait for equipment as its a capped membership , so never overly busy .

Fantastic experience: Been a member for 2 months, for someone who suffers with anxiety the gym has always been something i have to push myself to go to like a chore, unenjoyable, this place is DIFFERENT, its a pleasure to look forward to going to, the staff and members across the board are great it feels like a home from home and others treat it as such, weights always unloaded from the machines everything put back in its place keep up the good work !

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training at The Gym Joint for 5 years and it is hands down the BEST gym in Buckinghamshire. Aaron, Nicole, TJ & the team are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable & go above & beyond for their members. The gym welcomes serious weight lifters, bodybuilders, powerlifters and total newbies and treats them all as one. It’s the only place I’ve ever been where you can comfortably approach the 6ft5 bodybuilding giant for a spot and not feel intimidated. The members all have each other’s backs and genuinely want the best for each other - pushing & supporting each other like they’ve been friends for years when they may have only known each other for 5 minutes. The vibes are immaculate, the range & quality of the kit is second to none, the gym is clean & weights and equipment is always put back in the right place. As a coach & PT, I recommend this gym to everyone in the local area.

Fantastic experience: An excellent gym! Very safe and welcoming atmosphere. Run by a couple that really know their stuff. Some brilliant PTs to assist people at all levels. Lots of rare kit and machines. You won't find a better gym locally

Fantastic experience: 5* gym- Best “real” gym in Buckinghamshire Has everything you need in a range of new and unique machines. Dumbbells go up to 60kg. Staff are super friendly and open to any questions you have. The lighting and atmosphere is fantastic. Showers are hot, not lukewarm compared to sport centre's. There is a level of respect between members, everyone cleans after themselves and wipes equipment down after use. Gym etiquette is high, members re-rack there weights so it’s ready for the next person. Music is great and there is a small shop inside to treat yourself with a tasty protein shake. Price is higher than most, however what you pay is what you get. Definitely worth and highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking for a gym that has everything you need and is an incredibly enjoyable space join the gymjoint. I joined in June after moving back from Uni and it was the best decision. All the staff and members are so nice, they have pretty much any piece of equipment you can think of and with capped membership it’s never too busy!

Fantastic experience: Officially joined yesterday but I've already had 4/5 sessions and I can already confidently say this is one of the best gyms I've ever been to. The equipment is top notch, all of the staff I've had the pleasure of meeting do far are all such nice and friendly people. Doesn't have that "commercial" gym feel at all, which I love. Everyone's on it and the atmosphere is the best. If you're thinking of joining, do it

Fantastic experience: A "real" gym! This is the place to work out and build muscle in a great atmosphere with passionate, knowledgeable and extremely helpful staff and kind and welcoming users. The equipment is good, everything is ultra-clean and well-looked after. There is a very friendly competition to "grow and get better & stronger" going, but without pressure or threat. Staff are super welcoming (as are most of the customers, too) and always happy to help, advise, correct, motivate & inspire. The Gym Joint is very well equipped and there's something for everyone, free weights, mats for floor exercises, the "usual" weight machines and some cardio machines. They've accepted my 17-year-old son into their fold as one of theirs, helping him achieve his goals, ensuring he's motivated, teaching him new stuff - absolutely brilliant and the changes in him are awesome. What I personally like best is that it's "proper" training, everyone is taking it seriously, working hard but having fun and enjoying themselves and the thrill of getting stronger, rather than "pretending" to go to the fitness club, but then standing around chatting or even having coffee! This is a real place to do real exercise for a REAL difference to your body composition, health, strength and fitness. Absolutely fantastic, a great find - we are so lucky to have you in our neighbourhood! Thank-you!

Fantastic experience: I'm In too my second week as a member and I absolutely love this gym. Its got a fantastic mix of an old school hard work mentally and new age service and cleanliness. Equipment is first class, the staff have all shown a great level of professional friendliness and the members I've meet have been polite and training hard.

Fantastic experience: This gym is honestly the best gym I have trained in, it’s got such a great range of equipment and the people who train there are always willing to spot you. The atmosphere there is also another level with great tunes playing in the background! The staff are so helpful and are always there to support you with your goals. Being a female in the gym can sometimes be intimidating, but here you will never get this, I am super comfortable weight training, since becoming a member years ago!

Fantastic experience: You won’t find a better gym than this one. Owners / staff always welcoming and supportive, a range of equipment and multiple attachments mean little to no wait times for a rack or rope (or variation thereof). A respectful community of gymgoers who keep the place tidy (and wiped down after use) and give you space and time to work out. You’ll find (men and women) powerlifters, bodybuilders, PTs and your regular 9-5ers here, but none of the timewasters who take half the dumbbells and then sit on Instagram. And that’s the best thing about this gym – everyone is so passionate and focussed on weight lifting that it encourages you to add a couple more kilos to the bar each time and push yourself; you just can't replicate that kind of atmosphere in the larger gym chains.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for at least 5 years now. Without a shadow of a doubt, this place is the best gym I have ever trained at. Excellent facilities, owners and staff that actually care and unquestionable value for money. An independently owned business that always delivers.

Negative experience: My husband joined this gym and the covid came just after few months. They asked to the local customers to help them to keep the gym and support community. I wasn’t happy to keep paying not knowing what will happen in the future, but my husband thoughtfully wanted to support them(and it will be paid back once it’s back to business). Gym opened once again and my husband get £10 discount pet month I think but then unfortunately the problem rose when we had to move to High Wycombe. My husband asked them to pay back the rest of the money because he can no longer go the gym but they only can discount small amount of money not reimbursement even tho we moved the town! Once again my husband wrote an email but they ignored. I feel betrayed if this is the result of being generous to help local business. It wasn’t donation but they just get the money as free for months and ignore the customer. How low the customer service they have!!!

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym. All the facilities you need to achieve your goals be it powerlifting or bodybuilding. Only gripe is I wish the other members took better care of the ipad which we use to select the music as its damaged but this is no fault of the management. Having said that this is the best gym in the local area.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for a few years now and can honestly still say it’s the best gym in the area. Staff are friendly and supportive and happy to help whenever possible. The thing that makes this gym stand out from the others is how much the members support each-other, you always feel as though if you’re doing something incorrectly you could ask anyone and they’d be fully willing to help you improve. Couldn’t recommend more.

Fantastic experience: I never thought that the words ‘Going to the gym’ would pass my lips. I am so pleased to have found this gym. It is very friendly, welcoming and non intimidating … essential to someone ‘of a certain age ‘ and of uncertain enthusiasm for exercise. The staff are very friendly and encouraging. TJ listened very carefully to what I said and has pitched the challenges perfectly in terms of challenge and motivation. I would recommend this gym wholeheartedly .

Positive experience: Really nice set up for a small gym with lots of good equipment and racks. Bit light on the cardio equipment but makes up for it with the range of lifting equipment. Great place

Negative experience: I can't really comment about the excellence of staff, equipment, facilities or cleanliness etc. as I haven't been able to get into the place!! I have visited the site twice, during "manned hours" and phone on numerous occasions, again "during manned" hours and left messages.....no one has called me back!
