Fantastic experience: Booked the superior suite for Christmas eve. Really good price for a top quality service and stay. My wife and I had a brilliant time here. We will be coming back again next year for sure.

Fantastic experience: I stayed at this hotel in a recently renovated standard room. It was a lovely room, very comfortable and spacious with all the amenities you could need. I attended the Christmas Vegas event which was well organised and managed. The staff were incredibly attentive given the volume of guests and I was impressed by the manner of the waiting staff as this can be a demanding style of event. Breakfast this morning was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been visiting Moor Hall for several years now, and always have such a lovely stay. The staff are a credit to the hotel. Everyone from the reception team, to the bar & spa staff; to the servers, to the maintenance people, and the housekeeping staff - they’re always so kind and welcoming. I stayed here by myself a few weeks back. After having such a heartbreaking year (after two bereavements) I really needed to get away. I spent two nights in one of the four poster rooms, and it was just wonderful. The room itself is beautiful, especially the view. I’m returning again just before Christmas with my sister for our annual spa break; and then again shortly after for another solo night away. Thank you so much for providing me with such comfort. Those two nights I was here was the happiest I’ve felt in a long time. Also, for anyone reading this, don’t forget to check out the fairy trail & pet cemetery. As a huge animal lover myself, this was so special to see; and even brought a lump to my throat. The amount of I’ve times I’ve been coming here, and I didn’t even know it was there.

Fantastic experience: We booked christmas afternoon tea with the bluebird belles , it was amazing the food was perfect, the staff were so friendly and helpful and the bluebird belles topped it off they were fantastic. Thankyou moor hall it was the perfect day , please bring back the bluebird belles next year we will be booking again.

Fantastic experience: Went to a fawlty towers xmas meal event last night with four friends. The christmas decs were amazing, food was whey beyond expectations & the whole evening was filled with laughter. So thank you to the hotel events organiser, kitchen team & all front of house team that made our night so special. Merry xmas to you all.xx

Fantastic experience: My husband and I had our baby shower here and the service was so beautiful and everything went smooth. I highly recommend this hotel. I’m definitely booking more events here. The staff is amazing and very friendly. We communicated through emails and the staff were quick to respond and helped with everything we wanted both before and during the event.

Negative experience: Rooms are very outdated, spa needs renovating it’s very old looking and boring. The breakfast was decent nothing special but service at breakfast was amazing lovely staff. Overall wouldn’t recommend.

Positive experience: I was treated to a spa day at Moor hall hotel by my niece, it was a belated birthday present. I have been through quite a lot of trauma lately. My niece booked the spa day to enable me to relax. We arrived at 9:30 and we were greeted by very friendly staff. We were shown the a dining room and given tea and toast after which we went into the spa area. We enjoyed a swim and the sauna and steam rooms. We had our treatments at 12 noon, afterwards we had lunch, which was delicious. We then decided to go back to the pool area to relax. We noticed the pool was rather full by this time and rather noisy with all these people talking.The next thing, the music started and the aquarobics began, well there was no chance of us relaxing, so we had to leave. 3 hours before we were due to. I am really disappointed with this. We were not told that this was going to happen. It has spoiled what otherwise was a very nice day.

Negative experience: Sadly this is a negative review for Moor Hall. As a family we have deep ties to Erdington and have used Moor Hall as a hotel base for many a family event over the years. This week I am here for a funeral, where the wake will take place at the hotel. Having booked a 3 night stay, I arrived yesterday and was disappointed to find my room in the original part of the hotel, so somewhat smaller and far less luxurious than the newer rooms. The double is literally that, so narrow. Unfortunately the walls and ceilings are not soundproofed and I could hear people in the neighbouring rooms until 1am this morning. I now have the pleasure of being next to a room which is being refurbished, so the noise of the building site, as the sign outside so aptly says has been audible all day. Having raised my concerns with the hotel reception I understand their limitations as they are fully booked, so despite being offered a different room (it would only be for one night and then I would have to move again), something I have declined due to the funeral service etc taking place on the second day of my stay. What I was surprised by was the lack of planning, when I suggested that perhaps when refurbishing a room they should take out of action the rooms either side the answer was that they do, clearly not this time. 126 is literally next door to my room. By contrast, the service from the bar area last night and the breakfast team this morning was second to none, such friendly and helpful staff members who are a credit to the hotel and the spa staff have also been very welcoming. Such a shame to have not been able to resolve the key issues of a poorly allocated room, despite writing twice, at the time of booking and again at pre check in that I would like a quiet room, higher up so to reduce the risk of noise transference. I find myself sandwiched between floors and at the mercy of other people’s sleep schedules. Unable to recommend the hotel after this stay and unlikely to return which is a real shame. I will probably try New Hall Spa hotel next time.

Negative experience: Hotel was freezing, heating didn't work, no explanation by any staff when asked, seemed to pretend there wasn't a problem. Service in the restaurant was very poor, poorly trained staff, asked us how we would be paying before even taking our order. The is not a spa as such, a pool with a small sauna off the pool We would not go there again and can't recommend it

Positive experience: Dirty changing rooms in the spa. The changing rooms are given surface cleans only..... the dirt and grime around the tiles and floor are vile....it needs a thorough deep clean and regrouting. The service in the restaurant for lunch was slow and the food mediocre. Lots people being drawn through this place with wowcher offers and thisnis clearly shown with the wear and tear and non maintenace and upkeep of the facilities.

Fantastic experience: I have stayed here a few times and thought the rooms were in need of modernisation. Stayed recently and was pleased with our room, it was definitey nicer and more modern looking and bigger too! It was in a different part of the building we've never seen before so dont know if its only that area thats nicer but we were happy. Staff very helpful and polite. No problems when we asked for extra milk and tea. We love the spa area and breakdown nice too, we didn't have dinner, instead chose to drive elsewhere for it.

Negative experience: Nice food & staff. However felt underwhelmed by the Spa area, pool is a lot smaller than the photos, people with glasses & bottles drinking around the poolside. Noisey party going on close to room whilst having a supposedly restful treatment. Not thought through with "Quiet" rooms etc. Bedroom hadn't been hoovered for a long time, hair balls everywhere, dirty cup, splashes on bathroom walls, bedding had black stains, generally UNCLEAN & disgusting ! Will NOT return.

Fantastic experience: Another excellent stay at Moor Hall staff friendly and extremely helpful, facilities are great, kids loved the swimming pool.

Positive experience: Food is fabulous, with attentive staff. View from restaurant and bars is beautifully idyllic. Spa is great with jacuzzi, steam, sauna and pool including facilities to shower/change.

Fantastic experience: Went for a spa day with afternoon tea with the ladies. There were 6 of us. The facilities are very clean, the star are friendly. I had a neck shoulder and scalp massage with Sheree she was amazing and friendly. Rose served us for our afternoon tea and she was friendly and got all of our separate request correct ( don’t know if I would have been able too haha) these two ladies provided great customer service with a smile. Will definitely go back. Thank you Moor hall spa.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience!!! The massage therapists Paige for me and a brunette for my wife were brilliant. My wife has ADHD and this was brilliant, I cannot recommend the treatments enough- the service was fantastic and the spa was so clean. The reception staff at the spa was amazing and so helpful. I would not go anywhere else and this is close to Sutton Coldfield, the experience was so worth the money. The pool is so clean and warm, the grounds are incredible and all staff were so calm and professional. I am thrilled and thankful for a wonderful day. Thank you Moor Hall. We will see you soon!

Fantastic experience: We got married at moor hall in August. The venue itself is so beautiful, but the wedding was spectacular. The weather, the venue, the staff, the food, the organisation, everything was just incredible. Heather spent a lot of time with me organising every last detail and running through everything a million times. But Troy on the day was absolutely worth his weight in gold. There was not a thing he did not do for us. From fixing my dress walking down the aisle, to distracting me so that I didn't ruin my makeup, to making sure that absolutely everything on the day went without a hitch. He was phenomenal and we're so grateful he was there. Top tip for future brides, get the prep suite, having everyone there with me and a base to get ready in was invaluable. Plus the room is BEAUTIFUL. Positive experience: I would have given a 4.7 rating if I could. I booked the afternoon tea spa day for my mom's birthday and it's been a wonderful day. The staff have been lovely they had remembered it was my mom's birthday and given personal gestures for her which have been such lovely attention to detail. The massage was absolutely lovely, I'd say one of the best I have had. The only slight moan were the pool side beds were full and really uncomfortable. Apart from that I'd like to thank all the staff for making the day special for me and my mom. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back, hopefully soon!

Negative experience: I have been waiting right in front of the bar for half an hour to place an order, but despite reminding them several times, they never paid any attention. We just wanted to have a drink, and this is our first time at this hotel. I think they don’t want to serve us because we are foreigners. I would never recommend this hotel to any foreigner.

Fantastic experience: Check for a wowcher on this little gem. What a lovely hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was clean (albeit a bit hot) The evening meal was a bit pricey but good. The swimming pool is small but luckily the times we went in the evening at around 6 was quiet enough. The breakfast was great, everything you could think of and the staff were lovely. I would definitely recommend and go again. There is also a golf course, you can see through the gym windows. The gym was good too, lots of equipment and air con was super cold.

Fantastic experience: From start to finish this was amazing , staff are friendly and very professional , service superb , food and drink exquisite . We stayed in the Seabuckthorne and it was fabulous , if you haven’t been go ! you won’t be disappointed !!!

Positive experience: We had a good 2 night refreshing break at Moor Hall, very nice relaxing place lovely breakfast with plenty of options drinks prices at the bar were rather excessive and it was a shame that the restaurant menu didn't change to give us a verity to choose from on our second evening

Positive experience: Disappointing Afternoon Tea at Moor Hall today (25.08.25) Five of us were celebrating my mums 90th birthday. Lovely setting. Staff were friendly and helpful but food was not as good as it could have been. Some of the bread on the sandwiches was extremely dry/stale and some of the scones were dry and hard too. The cakes were all fine. We didn’t want to spoil my mums birthday celebrations so did not mention it but on chatting afterwards we discovered we had all had a similar experience. At a price point of £29 or £34.50 with Prosecco we had higher expectations.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but amazing things to say thank you for from our one night spa and hotel stay (14-15th August 2025)! The massage was just what I needed and my mum said she felt like she was walking on air after her leg and foot massage! We were in room 130, during the night our aircon unit started making an intermittent BUZZING noise, it was keeping this extremely tired postpartum mum awake! At around 11pm I called down to reception and the lovely night manager, Mario, came up, unfortunately he couldn't fix the problem so offered us a room to sleep in and have use of until we checked out. He took us to the Ansell Suite, absolutely incredible! I could not be more grateful for Mario and the beautiful room this tired mummy and Nana very much needed! All the staff we interacted with were professional, efficient and (most important) friendly and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived.

Positive experience: Room was in need of some refurbishment in places, particularly the bathroom but it’s a good size, with some nice amenities such as good selection of hot drinks, biscuits and large screen TV.

Positive experience: Room was not clean hair bobble left on floor and ear bud and card holder for door key behind beside table room 128 probably still there not what you expect from a four star

Fantastic experience: We were here for a family wedding, it's a lovely location for it as well as being very well set up for it. The staff were generally excellent.

Negative experience: Disappointing- stopped off just to have a meal for birthday - tables were dirty, food wasn’t particularly hot and dry / overcooked. Staff were pleasant.

Positive experience: Facilities in room and shower were good, and so was breakfast. Gardens were beautiful and bar/breakfast staff were fab. Overheard other staff talking about guests which showed a lack of professionalism.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful place. The food was delicious, staff very helpful and pleasant. Spa facilities were lovely and kept very clean. I had a leg massage which was so lovely and relaxing and the spa staff were lovely and made you feel so relaxed too. Had a walk around the grounds with the woodland walk too which was lovely . There is a golf course there too.

Fantastic experience: My daughter & I had a wonderful overnight stay at the hotel. We made use of the facilities & dined in the restaurant. Although we had a waitress in training, she was very attentive & was supported by an experienced member of staff where needed. A stunning hotel, we would definitely visit again!

Negative experience: Treated my friend to a one night spa break a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately i left my gold bracelet in the pocket of the dressing gown provided along with some costume jewellery which then made its way to the laundry. Once I realised what happened I told the relevant staff who assured me I would get my bracelets back. However I only received the costume jewellery which no proper explanation was proffered for my gold bracelet. It completely soured our stay…. Staff seems to be in collusion with petty thieving

Negative experience: Have not renewed my membership after 2 years of continuous service due to the lack of quality expected .Have now found a more professional establishment that looks after their members and standard of cleanliness is priority.Such a shame really as this is a family run business they have lost the personal touch.Very disappointed .

Negative experience: Probably the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in - room 182 isn't really a twin as the sofa bed is brutal. May as well sleep on the floor or in the bath. Hotel seemed to struggle with a big group at meal times despite having other places that people could have gone to sit. Noise from a disco on one night too.

Negative experience: Utterly pathetic, cancelled on us the day before a weekend away that we had planned and booked for 2 months..We've paid for the dog to go to kennels and arranged for the kids to stay elsewhere and they think it's okay to cancel us as they're overbooked at 4pm the day before we're due to arrive. We're now left looking for somewehere else last minute, it's too late to book spa treatments and we're having to change a ton of plans to accomodate their utter incompetence. Shambolic and disgraceful. Avoid like the plague.

Negative experience: Been twice, both times service was really poor, making excuses that they are "small family run". Waiting until we asked to tell us issues they were having rather than being transparent and honest in the first place. Offering free drinks to us for the poor service, doesn't cut it when your wife is pregnant...

Fantastic experience: I had a spa day with afternoon tea. The leisure facilities are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is also a golf club on site. There is plenty of parking, but the carpark was busy. It didn't take long to get a space as people are constantly coming and going.

Fantastic experience: Recently attended a small conference at Moor Hall Hotel and had a fantastic stay. The venue is ideal for intimate meetings of around 10–15 people – quiet, professional, and well-organised. The hotel itself is full of character with comfortable, well-appointed rooms and a peaceful setting. It’s in a great location – easy to get to, yet tucked away enough to feel like a retreat. The food was excellent – fresh, beautifully presented, and served by friendly, attentive staff. The grounds are also lovely for a walk between sessions or just to unwind. Highly recommend for both business and leisure stays.

Fantastic experience: Just a quick message of thanks to your team for such amazing hospitality on Monday 26th May 2025. All your staff were so helpful in everything I asked/needed, done swiftly and continually with a smile. The room was spotlessly clean with fantastic amenities and the food in the restaurant was incredible. Whilst initially I was staying due to the prestige awards being held on site, so preferring to support local business (especially those in the wedding industry such as myself) the cost was well worth it, and I would definitely not be hesitating to stay again.

The reception staff were really friendly and even upgraded our room, which made our anniversary just that bit more special! Breakfast was also very good and the lady who seated us was very accomadating and also ensured I was still able to have an enjoyable breakfast with a nut allergy and being a vegetarian! I would definitely recommend a stay at Moor Hall !

Negative experience: We visited this hotel as I was away on business and husband had some business to attend up there we took our son with us and planned to take it in terms to take him swimming and have family time on the day we were not working but we ended up leaving the hotel early not only was it Uncle I’m talking piles of dust down the side of the bed Chris packets Hair in the bath,.,, And to top it off, we had no Internet at all so we couldn’t do any work from our hotel room, which was the purpose of going as I was speaking at a major event. When we complained to reception, they were not very friendly and accommodating so we decided to leave the hotel and take our business elsewhere I would never come back to this hotel. It was like visiting Fawlty Towers.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful place for nighy out just fantastic athmosfery . Lovely place with lovely ,friendly staff . Nice room with all bedding and towels fresh.nice and clean Lovely food very tasty (tea time need booked) Just amazing place. We had spa time include (little bit small for lots of visitors) but you can seat and relaks on nice comfy chairs .

Positive experience: Generally good but I was woken abruptly by a loud continuous noise (something like a water pump with failing bearings) that started at 6am and stopped about 6:30. I'd use the hotel again but not rooms near 125! Good job I had to get up early for a meeting

Staff are friendly and professional, service is always fantastic and the food is amazing. I see the hard work that the staff put in behind the scenes for every wedding and event and this really reflects on the day.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful hotel in a peaceful location. More of a resort than a hotel with golf course, leisure centre and conference rooms. Rooms are large and spacious with comfortable beds. Restaurant and bar areas are well maintained and there is a large terrace and green spaces where you can take a relaxing stroll

Negative experience: Just want to thank moor Hall my brother Richard celebrate his 50th birthday today at the spa the staff are amazing said they would do something nice birthday card with 50%off next time he goes and a plate with his name on with chocolate and strawberry thank you so much for making his day special xx

Fantastic experience: Last minute booking due to being let down by another establishment. Arrived at 2.30pm, was told by reception our rooms wouldn’t be ready until the check in time of 3pm but could leave luggage and go down to the bar for a drink. The place was buzzing-lots of private functions going on in rooms having a great time, arrived at the bar which was full with no spare seating. Decided to head out to get a drink elsewhere- the guy at reception advised us to go into Mere Green but as we were going out for dinner there we decided to go into Sutton Coldfield. Arrived back about 4.30pm and the rooms were ready, they take a £50 deposit which is refunded on check out-we had room numbers 93 and 94, both on the ground floor. To access them you walk through the conservatory past the big function room-there was a Mamma Mia event going on and everyone (mainly women) were having the times of their lives. We dropped our bags in our rooms which were spacious with a mix of old with the new and large comfy beds, also loved the vast choice of teas, coffees, hot chocolate and also 2 different types of waters. Headed back to the bar which was still full, so wandered upstairs and found some tables which said they were for spa guests only-as no one was in there we got our drinks from the bar and headed up there which was nice. In the evening we headed out to a nearby restaurant-ordering an uber was a nightmare said would take 10 mins but no one was accepting the fare. The lovely lady on reception said she would order a local cab for us but they too were busy so we ended up driving as we were already running late from waiting for the taxi. Overnight stay was restful until the morning when you could hear metal crates being taken past the window through the car park over and over-this didn’t disturb us too much but may to others. Breakfast-the room seems small for the amount of guests so there was a little wait, this might also be due to the clocks changing that night. There was a great choice of cereals, waffles, pancakes, meats and cheeses, hot selection with poached eggs or could order other choices off the menu. My mother in law ordered an omelette but wanted to know if they were good and a nice size-the lady said the chef had come from The Savoy so highly recommended them, when it came she really enjoyed it! Check out was easy gave room key and left. The £50 was refunded by the time I got in the car to leave. Would consider staying here again in future as lovely building and surroundings.

Fantastic experience: Lovely over night stay here having purchased the relax, stay & dine package. Arrived early and treated myself to a mojito in the bar where the waitress happily swapped the rum to a spiced rum. Sat outside soaking up the gorgeous views of the golf course and outside greenery. We then had a 55 minute treatment in the spa, had a brilliant massage by Grace and enjoyed complimentary drinks in the lounge bar. Dinner was excellent and service again was very professional but friendly. The rooms were lovely and the twin beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was the highlight, excellent quality of products and lots of choices/options. I would happily return to Moor Hall again.

Fantastic experience: What a lovely stay. We booked a superior room... nothing felt superior about it but the bed was very comfortable. The food was amazing! The service in the restaurant over the 2 night was impeccable! You should be very proud of the restaurant staff! Suggestion to replenish water in room for 2nd night... (not everyone likes elderflower water)

Fantastic experience: We came for the Mamma Mia afternoon tea, it was the best afternoon we’ve all had in a long time. They didn’t skim on anything and you totally got what you paid for. Stunning room, gorgeous food, Prosecco flowing and the abba act were fantastic! Highly recommend this event they do and I’ll def be back next year. Please don’t change anything or cut costs it was superb

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely Afternoon tea Spa experience today. Very helpful and friendly staff in all departments. We had back massages and head and scalp massages. Therapist was very professional and had amazing hands. We were floating after our treatments. Gorgeous relaxation room to chilli in after which complements the experience. Afternoon tea was yummy great range of sandwiches and delicious cakes. The tea options were tasty too. Highly recommended this place and would definitely come again.

Positive experience: We visited Moor Hall for afternoon tea. I was sadly disappointed by the quality of the afternoon tea. The bread for some of the sandwiches was solid and stale. The sponge cake was also quite dry and solid. However the salmon sandwich filling and choc slice were tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel itself had some interesting features but some areas appeared dark and dated / needed refurbishment. Overall an OK experience but I think the price point for the afternoon tea did not reflect the quality.

Fantastic experience: I went as a guest to the leisure club with my mother in law Julie Beresford, all I can say is wow. Harriet on reception was soooo lovely and even Matt the manager came to say hello and show us round…amazing. Several of the instructors were also on hand… Connor, Jasmine and Paul. Loved the pool and the sauna all spotless. All in all a wow experience … I cannot wait to go back Jacey

Fantastic experience: I joined the leisure club after an amazing experience as a guest on a spa day and can honestly say I have not been disappointed. Matt the manager is professional, encouraging and always on hand to offer advice and support when needed. The team of instructors, Paul, Connor, Jasmine and Daniel provide an array of different classes aimed at different ability levels as well as providing support and advice for those who prefer a workout in the well equipped gym. Harriet and the team on the reception are always polite with a can do attitude. All.in all the experience today has exceeded my expectations ...thank you Julie

Fantastic experience: Nice place. Very clean and tidy throughout. Nice place. Very clean and tidy throughout. Visited Moor Hall for a Sunday roast. Probably the best roast we have ever had. Great choice and ultimate freshness in all the items. It was good to have a choice between pork, beef, and turkey. All the meat was cooked to perfection and the chef even offered to cook the beef to our requirements if we so desired. But it was good the way it was. The veg was cooked to perfection, and the quality was outstanding.The delicious caponata was highly appreciated, especially by the vegetarian members of our party. Salads, starters, and desserts were all fantastic. Service was very good, and the chef (who I believe is Sri Lankan) went above and beyond to make sure we all enjoyed the roast. Brilliant Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I have now used the leisure club on several occasions and have been extremely impressed with the facilities and service. The gym is well equipped and kept spotless. Matt the manager was on hand to show me around and explain the equipment. I met several members of staff including Connor, Paul and Jasmine who could not have been more helpful. 10/10 for service guys

Positive experience: We went as a group to a tribute over night stay. Hotel was very welcoming and staff are all very customer focused, which was lovely. Hotel itself was cold in the bar, function room, and bedrooms. That aside we had a lovely evening Negative was the Spa! This has to be the most stress provoking spa I’ve ever been too! Rules implicated once paid, a very unflexable approach by militant staff. Sadly they seem to have forgotten it’s meant to destress not provide stress!

Fantastic experience: We had a lovely overnight stay here. Used the spa facilities before the bar and meal in the brasserie. Relaxed atmosphere, amazing food and beautiful building. Lovely garden to walk around too. Staff couldn't be better. Really attentive and friendly. Special mention to Chloe, Georgia, Jake and Ben who looked after us at dinner, they were brilliant and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this as a place to have a relaxing break. We both really enjoyed it. Definitely would come back.

Fantastic experience: Instead of a spa stay we opted for a room with jacuzzi and room service instead of dinner in the restaurant. It was a very good decision! The room (188) was beautiful, clean, cosy and warm. Room service very efficient, delicious food. We had a truly relaxing, romantic stay.

Negative experience: I am in hell. It’s almost 1 am here and for the second night in a row I am calling Reception to complain about noise. Doors banging over and over and over, party guests going to bed late, loud shouting, loud sex, last night a group of boys jumping around their bedroom at 2 am. This hotel caters for many functions - meaning lots of noise post midnight. With 2 young children trying to sleep, this is truly hell on earth!! NOT a family hotel. Don’t come here expecting a quiet night’s sleep! I begged to be moved 2 nights ago and it was refused. Not very understanding or accommodating for families : (

Positive experience: We took my Mother for afternoon tea as it would have been her 60th Wedding anniversary. We had requested a window seat which we didn't get even though the room was only a third full. We had to change a chair as it was covered in food as was the carpet. The food arrived and I was a little shocked how plain it was. I have never had afternoon tea before but I did expect it to be a little more fancy. The sandwiches were basic we had no salad garnish,the rare roast beef was on day old plain white bread. There was very little horseradish, dill and watercress on the other sandwiches. The quiche was an Iceland special and so were the "homemade cakes". The only saving grace was the decor of the lovely room but it was cold. This wasn't a special afternoon for my Mom. I certainly wouldn't dream of recommending Moore Hall for afternoon tea.

Positive experience: Came for cream tea. Sat down at the table and was asked by the waiter what tea we would like to order without being given a menu beforehand. Once the tea came we waited 10 minutes for cutlery, milk and sugar (this was of course me getting up and asking for it) The food came and we were given Afternoon Tea instead of the Cream Tea which we requested. You can’t get anything from the waiters without getting up and physically asking for it. The gluten free and regular scones came cold and were mediocre. Not asked once whether the food was ok or if we would like any refills. Bare in mind only 4 tables were occupied with people - this is very disappointing as I expected better service considering this is a 4 star establishment.

Positive experience: Attended the New years Eve dinner with friends and stayed on for New Years day also. Fantastic night, excellent food, cracking live band and disco to welcome in the New Year. All the staff we met were excellent despite being very busy and helped make the stay very positive. Well done in particular to Amy, Jake and Sophie who looked after us on New Years Day. Spa is fine and very good breakfasts. Only criticism would be the standard rooms are very basic, dated (no fridge, no air con, so quite warm), hard pillows and definitely in need of modernisation). The old fashioned bar is a very amenable setting to have a drink.

Positive experience: Great NYE venue. Nice room and staff. The party was great with bagpiper, glass of bubbles on arrival and at midnight. Good live band and DJ (would have preferred some different music but it got everyone on the dance floor). The food was excellent, though a pre-order would have been nice. The spa was lovely. Great way to start the New year.

Positive experience: Hotel is lovely and room was great, had a disabled room with plenty of space to get about. Service from staff was fantastic. The only thing that let it down was the food, we attend Christmas function, the evening meal was soup that looked like cold dish water and was cold, main well looked like beef but hardly anyone was eating best thing was dessert. Morning breakfast was terrible and again the food was cold so ended up having yoghurt and toast. So on the whole if you don't want to eat its fine
