Muscle Machine Cornwall

Fantastic experience: I’m here on vacation and went to train at Muscle Machine. The gym is a 10/10, the range of equipment is huge, and alongside excellent Panatta machines, there are real gems like the Cybex Hack Squat. You can tell the owner is truly passionate and knows his stuff. Thanks for letting me train here!

Fantastic experience: Insane range of equipment, both pin and plate loaded. I have not experienced another gym with this range and quality.

Having a quality gym in Cornwall has never really been an option until I found Muscle Machine, what a Gym ! Genuinely the best Gym I've trained at and I've trained at alot..The vibe is great, everything is spotless and the the machines are on another level. I couldn't recommend the gym enough. Il be definitely be back.

Negative experience: No respect,rude wanted to get in the gym and was blantly rude said we weren’t aloud in because of our age even though we are 16 but we couldn’t provide id then told us to leave even tho are friends go there and they don’t provide id

Fantastic experience: I’m lucky to be able to call this gym home. I drive from Truro 4-6 days a week firstly to support friends because Roy and Becky are a lovely couple I’ve known for many years. You always get a welcoming smile whether it’s Roy Becky or Laura in house… It’s Got the most up to date, widest and biggest selection of machines I’ve ever seen in my life. It has Great staff, great machines, great music, a great vibe and has a great community of people working hard at their fitness goals whatever they are and I love the place and I don’t even like this fitness stuff They have a wealth of members including pro body builders and pts that are winners of both men’s and women’s shows and competitions but yet there is no animosity within the atmosphere. Allround winner for me and I’d say I’m definately an ambassador for the place 10/10 if your serious about your fitness and you want to lift weights, come here

Fantastic experience: Easily the most prestigious gym in cornwall. Roy, (the owner) is a previous British bodybuilding champion and some of his staff are also or previously British champions. A true to the game gym, staff are passionate about the art and not just there to earn a wage. If you want to be motivated by some of the best in britain then get yourself down.

Positive experience: The gym has a lot of really great equipment. Uncommon machines, most of which are great and in good condition. There are too many machines in there really, and it does feel cluttered. I'd hate to go in there when it's busy, but went at a quiet time so that was fine for me. There are no weight stands, so plates are just stored on machines (that have storage pegs). That means that you often have to just rummage around various machines looking for the plates you need. We make a point of always stripping weights off when finishing on equipment and are 99% sure we did every time here. About 15 minutes after we finished on one machine, the owner came and told us that we had left weights on a machine. I went to strip the machine and it was already stripped. Presumably the person who used it after us stripped it. Not sure why he assumed we had left the weights on and an unnecessary interruption to our workout. The treadmills back onto mirrored walls, so if you do screw up and find yourself falling off, you're going to have some real trouble squashed between a treadmill and a wall with broken glass all over the place! Very unlikely to happen, but seems an unnecessary risk. No showers or anywhere to put our bags. It feels like some basic essentials have been sacrificed in order to cram more equipment in. A lot of potential here and we did manage a great all body workout, but we would look into alternatives if we were in the area again. £10 a day seems too expensive for this gym. The lady who works here was really lovely, helpful and offered to assist. We didn't need any help, but would have felt very comfortable asking her if we did.

Fantastic experience: I have never really got along with gyms before, iv always found them intimidating and unwelcoming. But now at the MUSCLE MACHINE, from the 1st day visiting ro 2 months later I always felt welcome and comfortable. They have plenty of equipment not your usual 1 of each, more than enough options for everyone to do the workout they requite. From free weight, assisted weight machines, cardio machines, punch bags, medicine balls. You need it I'm sure they have it. Including protein drinks, bars and energy drinks. It's always clean, the staff are friendly. Update July 2024.... they have just upgraded loads of the equipment and there really is everything you can think of in there now. Bonus!

Negative experience: Disappointing Experience: Unprofessional Service and Poor Communication I joined this gym with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. After signing up and explaining our situation of needing a short-term membership due to leaving in two months, we were assured that canceling after one day would be fine. However, upon returning the next day to cancel, the owner was upset, claiming we should have stayed longer. To add to the frustration, upon leaving, I was shortchanged by £20 and was met with rude and direct behavior from the staff. This lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction is disappointing. I would caution anyone considering this gym to thoroughly investigate their policies and be prepared for poor communication and service.

Negative experience: Terrible experience at Muscle Machine gym. The owner is incredibly aggressive. We paid £10 for a trial run, then foolishly signed up for a monthly membership even though we weren’t sure of our travel plans. Upon cancelling our membership, the owner accused us of being sneaky and demanded an extra £5 or leave. When we decided to leave, he begrudgingly agreed to refund our money but shortchanged us £20. His behavior was appalling, and he even resorted to hurling insults at my partner. Avoid this place at all costs!

Fantastic experience: If Carlsberg did gyms, this would be it.... I've worked in and trained in many gyms over the years, and this is without doubt the best gym I've ever been in. Super friendly staff, literally every bit of kit gym kit you could imagine. If you're ever in Cornwall on holiday or working and need a gym, this is it.

This place keeps on growing....Extension the the mezzanine floor just gone in and a shed load of new machines coming in early 2024.

Positive experience: Amazing gym. Has alot of options when it comes to equipment. The owners & staff care alot about the gym and the members. Any mishaps with the key fobs were sorted immediately (if they're not there just send a e-mail).

His style of PT is a must, cannot recommend enough after 25 yrs of training I’m surprised to still be learning new and exciting ways to improve, his knowledge from a life long passion of training with some of the best in the business is priceless Give it a try you will not be disappointed

Negative experience: Owner is an embarrassment to the fitness industry! Not a single fitness qualification in the business… all talk no knowledge! Embarrassing!

Negative experience: Well impressed with the gym and equipment but definitely not the OWNER Roy!!! Warning to anyone wanting to use a gym late at night. You train with heavy and loud equipment and he comes down accusing you of abusing the gym when your NOT!!!!! He said we couldnt return and was cancelling membership!!!

Negative experience: Great equipment. But one massive problem. Roy, the owner. This isn't a personal attack as I don't know the guy. But here's my experience with him... This week I was training at around 11pm (in a 24 hour gym) and Roy came out of his room to say I was training too loud and 'woke him up' (I didn't realise he lived at the gym). He then falsely accused me of 'throwing weights around', and walked off before I could explain. I was using the cable row, fully stacked. It is IMPOSSIBLE to use that without making some noise. The upstairs floor is also naturally very noisy, so even moving the bench made considerable noise. I have been to gyms for over 20 years and have Never been accused of causing damage to equipment. I am respectful of equipment, even putting weights away after other people leave them on the floor. I am always respectful to staff and others training. I just stick my headphones on and get on with it. Roy called me the next day to cancel my membership. He was rude, didn't let me explain myself again, and even hung up on me. He did refund my months membership as I only paid it a few days ago. I've been training at this gym for more than 6 months and always pay on time. Roy has barely said 2 words to me in all that time, but after one 'incident' that was me just training as normal, I was shocked to be confronted with someone so unreasonable, aggressive and rude. So, if you want to train at a gym that claims to be 24 hours, but the owner expects you to train in complete silence, Muscle Machine is the gym for you. On a side note, you have to make a bank transfer to buy a water as there is no card machine for some reason. There are also no changing rooms, just 2 small toilets.

Fantastic experience: Great place. Loads of weights and an array of machines. The owner, "Roy" is very knowledgeable and keen to help whoever needs/asks for it. Highly recommend a visit and workout, you'll thoroughly enjoy it. I've been going while I've been on holiday so ended up getting a week pass and I've had such a great time. Thanks everyone.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym! 24hr opening, fantastic equipment free weights, fixed machines and plate loaded, hammer strength equipment. Found the gym very welcoming not only with the staff but also with other gymgoers something I have not found in other gyms in the area.

Fantastic experience: If Carlsberg did gyms!!!! I’ve trained in several gyms throughout the world, ranging from Spain, Qatar, Kuwait, USA to name a few. This gym has it all and the cleanliness is top notch, except for the odd lazy user not being trained in placing their blue cleaning rolls in the bins provided. It presents a large open and manoeuvrable training area over two floors, with more than enough variation of equipment to impress the beginners and maintain the discipline for the hardened advanced users. Due to the 24hr access, this place is well within every users schedule, although as per any facility offering such quality, peak times are as per the normal working hours. Furthermore, there are several friendly personnel around the gym, who can offer advice on training should you get stuck and in addition to this, they have Personal Trainers on hand who can really give you that expert guidance to make you journey to a better and fitter life, so much clearer. So if…………you’re looking for a gym that has pretty much the best around, I would recommend Muscle Machine. Just my thoughts by the way.
