Fantastic experience: Amazing experience, climbs for all ages (even adults so get involved parents!). One of the best value for money activities in Hull and so much fun. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. 10/10 would recommend

Fantastic experience: We went to Rock Up and had an absolute blast. The staff were friendly, the safety brief was quick but clear, and the climbing walls are perfect for both kids and adults. The twins loved it — one was racing to the top while the other froze halfway up looking like they were reconsidering every life choice Plenty of variety in the climbs, good atmosphere, and the auto-belay system means you don’t need a partner to hold the ropes (ideal if your friends are more “spectators” than climbers). Only gripe? The toilets. There’s just one per gender, so if nature calls during peak time, you’ll be doing the real endurance challenge — the “hold it till you get home” climb. ‍♂️ Otherwise, 10/10 day out. We’ll definitely be back — once my biceps stop crying and I’ve recovered from the toilet queue.

Fantastic experience: A brilliant atmosphere from the moment we walked in. All staff were friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. Great value for money, lots of different challenges, clean and tidy environment and facilities. A calm and enjoyable experience considering the nature of the activity. Looking forward to returning!

My 5 year old son is SEN and Molly couldn’t have been anymore helpful, it’s rare to find places that give accommodations especially during the school holidays, but Molly was brilliant and ensured we had the best experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Negative experience: Decent set up but run by a group of 16/17 year olds in the climbing area with a major lack of maturity and rudeness wouldn’t return

Fantastic experience: Been afew times at 1st the kids were abit nervous but after that, there is NO stopping them. Harness on & there are ready to go! Definitely a place we’ll be coming over & over

Negative experience: It's a great place if you're a confident climber. The safety brief on a small tv served It's purpose (ie ticked the health and safety boxes) but was pretty much useless if you've never been before. A hands on demonstration would have been much more helpful (Like Go Ape) to understand and see how the clips work. My 5 year old was extremely timid but was offered no help by the staff. I approached a bored looking girl to ask if she could help with a bit of encouragement. She did walk over to where we were but just stood next to us looking clueless. I rarely give negative reviews and we were perhaps unlucky having read previous reviews but I certainly won't hurry back or recommend. It felt like we were paying to use the facility. Nothing else

Positive experience: The place itself is fun, but it felt a bit overcrowded when I visited. It was quite hard to find a table, and many were left with empty coffee cups and snack wrappers, which made the space feel untidy. It would be great if the staff could clean up more frequently to keep the area more inviting. Otherwise, a good spot, but some improvements would make the experience much better!

Fantastic experience: I took my 4 year old this morning to the toddler climb and he really enjoyed it our instructor Ellis (I think) was so kind speaking and really gentle with Isaac. He even did races up the wall to help my son climb higher to boost his confidence. Great soft play area too. Thanku Rock Up for making my son's first experience a great experience

Fantastic experience: I came here for the first time today and it exceeded my expectations! I booked the SEND climbing session for the child I care for. The staff were welcoming, warm and understanding. They encouraged and reassured him throughout and talked through any concerns or questions. Really appreciate the kindness and support from Ella and Jess. Will be coming again! :)

Fantastic experience: So we was at a party for my son's school friend on the day the riots and protest happened and I'd just like to thank all the staff in the way they dealt with such a difficult and potentially dangerous situation. The kids was safe and secure at all times and all the kids in attendance was blissfully unaware of what was going, this was down to how all the staff went about informing all the adults without scaring or upsetting the kids. A massive thank you to all the staff working that day you did yourselves proud.

Fantastic experience: We took our 4 year old today, and she had so much fun! She's not a very athletic child, but one member of staff was really kind and made up a little game to try to give her the confidence to climb higher and on more challenging walls. He'd climb up and hide a Teddy, and if she could climb up and get it 5 times then she got to keep it! He made climbing fun and supported her to use her own critical thinking on some of the harder walls.

Fantastic experience: Took my 4 yr old for the first time, despite there being a school group during our time the instructors were very attentive and patient with her. She really enjoyed giving most of the walls a go x

Fantastic experience: Brought my son for a birthday treat on Saturday 27th April. He wasn't sure at forat but the young lady at the front let him check it out before we paid. Which help hi. Decide. The 3 kids climbed and really enjoyed it and my 2 year old loved the play area. Only problem was it wasn't very tidy near the seating area. Tables was really dirty. But no spare staff to clean the areas.

Positive experience: Came here Friday just gone with my 5 year old son. Paid extra for the goodie bag. Little disappointed with the goodies, a lanyard isn’t that interesting but the yellow drink bottle was a winner (his fav colour is yellow) the staff where really kind and explained easy instructions to follow with the Harniess etc. had a fantastic time. Will defo be revisiting.

Negative experience: Great for the climbing experience for children but the soft play area is absolutely filthy, like next level filthy for soft play.

Fantastic experience: Just come back from my son Ultimate Birthday Party at Rock Up Hull. I can not imagine better party for kids and my son (level 9 now) said it was his best birthday ever. Absolutely fantastic. Everything was planned and prepared by lovely and most helpful staff at the venue. Thank you !

Fantastic experience: Excellent activity to spend time with your kids and to challenge them.Had lots of fun and also a good way to keep active.Warning if your not comfortable with heights don’t do it but if your willing to overcome it then recommended since the staff are very helpful and will guide you with all procedures.Had a great time with my daughter we are regulars and will be back soon for more exciting climbing adventures

Positive experience: Such a great experience for family, it's great if you want to get over a fear of heights etc. The safety intros are really engaging for kids and the staff are so friendly. The only downer is that sometimes you have to wait a bit for a wall to be free and sometimes kids just start to take the mick by just waiting up there for a while then coming back down. Other wise a great place!

Positive experience: Kids really enjoy it here. Just feel an hour isn't long enough. Good if you are looking for a quick activity. The staff are nice and helpful. It's a pain that you have to watch the safety video each time. But I do understand why they have to do this.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic little venue to have a couple of hours fun. My 2 lads (10 and 15 years) really enjoyed it. They did want more challenges (esp in pairs!!!), but really good fun. Slide could be a bit bigger and more exciting and it should not be an extra cost of 6 pounds…Thank you to the polite and positive staff. Fantastic experience: Going as my first time, it was enjoyable. The staff are very clear with instructions and easy to call for if you need help. It can be very scary at first, but no matter what, you are always completely safe. It's a good place if you want to take your children somewhere to let all their energy out. I like that anyone from pretty much any age can go.

Positive experience: We absolutely love this place we come back every year it's never too busy, they accept the right amount of people for each session, safety briefing before hand is easy for everyone to take in and understand. There are a variety of walls for each climber from the first timer to the experienced for ages 4 and over it's well worth a visit.

Fantastic experience: Took my 2 year old son for the toddler climb and once he came out of his shell he loved it! Staff were very patient and friendly with my little boy. The manager helped to encourage him to climb, and even though he was busy, he took the time to keep checking in. Couldn't recommend more!

Fantastic experience: This was our second visit. I took my daughter who’s 11 and her friend. They both loved climbing the walls and looked totally puffed out by the end. I felt it was very good value for money. The lady on the front desk was nice and the staff did their jobs well. The place is clean including the toilets. There’s a food and drink kiosk and plenty of seating area. There’s a few of those large gumball gift machines but I felt the price of a £1 was fair enough. I would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant place to have fun, learn new skills and get over a fear of heights for both kids, inbetweens, teens and adults. Age is virtually no limit if you like to challenge yourself at the various walls of different ranges of difficulties. Pity there is not a facility like this in the resort of Cleethorpes.

Fantastic experience: My kids loved it, my daughter in particular, she was so tired at the end. I have never seen so many climbing walls and she loved reaching the button on all the different walls. She also tried the drop slide which was incredibly hard and scary, she was absolutely amazed at all walls and is so excited to go back soon she had so much fun.

Fantastic experience: What an absolutely brilliant place for a children's birthday party, the staff are so welcoming & very good at the job they do. It was my little Granddaughter's birthday & with all the apparatus & climbing frames & walls to climb they absolutely loved it. Safety is paramount with the staff so there always looking around or on hand to make sure harnesses are always worn while climbing. They have party rooms upstairs so that when there time is up the room is decked out with loads of different sandwiches & popcorn & jugs of juice there's a big long table full of food that all needs are catered for. People are welcome to bring there own banners & balloons to put up & just adds the the perfect party experience. I would certainly recommend this place if you wantvto see your children enjoy themselves enormously & without the stress of clearing up all the mess.

Positive experience: Good induction for the children. Attentive staff. Clean and tidy. One niggle: the safety rail between the cafe area and climbing area very badly fitted into plasterboard wall and fell out when leaned against - could have caused a nasty accident to an older person or young child walking by. Needs fixing securely.

Fantastic experience: FABULOUS!!! We haven't been in years and after today my kids cannot wait to go back. Please note you can climb for an extra 30 minutes for just £3.50 I wasn't informed of this when checking in and I would definitely have paid the extra. Both did the vertical drop, £3.50 for two attempts. Great fun and both came away with huge smiles and were begging to go back! Very well staffed however the two servers in the kitchen never came out, I had to pop my head into the kitchen to get their attention, no apology, no smiles and tbh very much lacking in any customer service. £3.15 large coffee £2.50 cup of tea £3.50 vertical drop Definitely book in advance if you can, it was very busy when we arrived at 2pm but around 3.30pm it was a lot less busy (Sunday).

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed watching the Grandchildren gain confidence in their climbing skills, would recommend it, very good professional atmosphere, well worth the visit.

Fantastic experience: Great place for adults and kids to burn off energy while having fun. Easy book in procedure (wavers to sign), good induction, and decent climbing gear. The arena was kept clean and tidy. The toilets could have done with a bit more attention but other than that no faults.

Negative experience: My daughter made a party booking on Saturday 17th December, i joined the party only to hear the junior manager telling my daughter " i am the manger and its company policy to give vouchers, however i don't like your attitude so i am not going to offer you anything" as he walked away smiling and laughing in an attempt to provoke a negative reaction It turned out members of the party could not attend and my daughter was asking about refunds The children we stood waiting for 5 minutes or more to be clipped to the safety ropes and another 5 minutes or more to be unclipped We were told they were short staffed and by entering the premises she has agreed to all and any inconvenience To make things worse the party food,  pizza's were burnt and hard making our time at rockup a waste of time and nearly £200 Comments made to the ""manager" were meet with more smiles and grining. Terrible experience

Fantastic experience: Lovely place for all ages. Soft play is small but great. Rock climbing is great. Cafe is a little expensive but standard for these places.

Fantastic experience: My family love this place. After a full safety briefing and harness fitting you are let loose on the walls. Each wall has a different level of difficulty and there are extra challenges for those of you who find it too easy! There’s a vertical wall challenge for a small extra fee which pulls you up a wall testing your strength. I had a great time watching this! You have around 55 mins of climbing which, believe me, is enough for untrained arms! You can buy drinks and food from the cafe but it was a bit too overpriced for my wallet.

Negative experience: Went in and waited 10 minutes to just be ignored by staff, pointless visit if you can't even be seen by them!

Fantastic experience: Had a really good time. Looks easy, but not so easy when you're on the walls - even for an adult!!! Good duration, too. Just the right time to try lots. Longer and kids would get bored. Third visit, and still enjoyable!

Fantastic experience: It is our third time already at Hull Rock Up and my 7 and 10 years old girls are absolutely loving it. Every time when they achieve new heights they are very proud off themselves. The staff is super friendly,helpfull and gives lots of encouragement to the kids. We totally recommend this place.

Positive experience: Not enough staff to clip everyone in 1 doing the slide and 1 doing the walls. Busy session and whilst moving about trying to get attention of the staff parents in blue vests could simply walk up to the wall you were waiting for and clip their child in, yet as a parent I aren't allowed to clip my child in? It should be all can or no-one can. Also this time we went my harness was digging in to my groin and back everytime I came down the wall using the descending line I had a member of staff check the harness and they said it was tight enough. Left early in end as was in agony lower back every time harness dug in. Maybe waist belts aren't best?

Negative experience: Myself and my child were very disappointed after travelling to Hull from Grimsby to visit rock up due to it closing early. My child had asked to go to rock up as a special treat for good behaviour and after checking opening times we decided to drive over. However, when we actually got to the venue we were informed they had closed early due to it “being quiet”. This was very disappointing and the staff were less than helpful at reassuring my very upset child. I was basically told we are shut nothing we can do! No sorry for travelling and wasting money on fuel or anything. This happened on the 25/8/2022

Fantastic experience: We went to Rock Up Hull for the first time this week and we were really impressed. We’d never been before so when we got there we told the guy behind the counter this and he explained it all to us so we knew exactly what to expect. After we’d paid and sorted waivers, we sat down in the seating area as we were a few minutes early. You can see all the climbing walls from there and the kids were very excited by what they saw! A few minutes later, one of the staff called everyone with bands over to go and watch the safety briefing and get their harnesses fitted. I wasn’t climbing myself so I waited in the seating area. If you want to go into the arena to help your child, you have to watch the safety briefing too but I was on drink duty so chose not to. They came back down about ten minutes later with harnesses on and it was time to climb! It’s a very easy system, you go to the wall you want to climb and raise your hand. A member of staff will come over and hook you onto the climbing safety equipment. When you want to try another wall, you stand and raise your hand and the staff member will come and unclip you and then clip you into the next wall you choose. It was quite quiet when we went so the kids swapped and changed a lot as many of the walls were free. There’s a good range of walls to try and some looked a lot more difficult than others so there’s something for everyone. The staff were very patient with the kids even when they swapped and changed walls a LOT of times and they were very kind when one of the kids got upset and made sure I’d spotted the situation so I could come and comfort my child. There’s a cafe too with lots of drinks to choose from and a selection of hot food choices. There was plenty of seating and we could see a soft play area for younger kids (you pay separately for that I think). We also saw a drop slide thing where you hold on as long as you can and then let go and slide down. This was paid for separately and you have to put on some extra safety gear. It looked fun! We definitely recommend a visit to Rock Up and we are looking forward to going again and I might give the climbing a try too!
