Fantastic experience: Excellent lodge with the best views

Fantastic experience: This place is absolutely amazing, never heard of Shaldon before but it's a gem! Coast view is a beautiful park, the lodges are fantastic and the amenities are second to none. Every member of staff we have spoken to have been so friendly and helpful!. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: Our first visit and definitely won’t be our last. The signature lodge was beautiful with the most stunning views. Well equipped lodge with lovely furnishings. The restaurant on site was great and the food excellent quality and value for money. Instantly felt relaxed and definitely going to miss the peace and tranquility.

Negative experience: My parents stayed here three times over three years. They had a lovely time. Beautiful Lodge. This year they had pre booked a year in advance and 10 days before their trip had a call to say their lodge wasn't available and offered a refurbished lodge. It turned out to have no panoramic views like the silver lodge. Was semi detached and a hedge blocking any view on a small balcony. My father spoke to the manager who didn't offer any recompence. I then went to the site office as I was in Shaldon and asked for a call back. The manager was off that day. On the Monday I waited for a call back as I was concerned that my parents were being treated this way due to their age and was disgusted to be honest at the company approach to what I'd consider loyal and valued guests. On Monday I had no call back. I called at 1.30pm to be told the manager had been in meetings all day. I raised a concern that the end of day was fast approaching. I was reassured I'd receive a call. Tuesday. No call. Today. No call. Clearly now the company has my parents money and their holiday is over they are of the view that they don't matter. I am disgusted that my parents have been treated this way and even more so that a manager cannot complete a simple call back request. My parents friends also stayed in a lodge on their recommendation with no issue. They got the lodge they paid for. With a company that prides itself on customer service and luxury breaks I would advise the team that keep an eye on reviews to ensure they take this matter up with the manager. My parents will not be staying with you again and I hope you don't ruin and con other elderly into making the same mistake of booking with your shaldon site. You should be ashamed.

Fantastic experience: Just returned from a lovely stay at Coast View. We had a gold standard lodge. It was amazing, finished to a fantastic standard, well equipped and the view was beautiful. The swimming pool and restaurant are great additions to the site. The location is great, you can walk down into Shaldon and you aren't far away from Teignmouth or Torquay. A special thank you to Helen on reception. She was so friendly and helpful and quickly solved any issues we encountered. Would highly recommend a visit!

Fantastic experience: The Lodge lends a very warm enchanting feeling of sophistication. The appliances are Top Grade aswell as all the other Amenities. The cleanliness is exemplary. Fantastic experience: Coffee out with the residents of the care home where I work. Fantastic location for views across the bay and on a clear day you can see Portland Bill.

Fantastic experience: The views from the higher levels are spectacular,the main problem would be the road outside has no pavement for walkers the drop off/pick up points for buses are very exposed to passing traffic.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing! We first stayed in May '23 for 4 nights in a silver lodge and it was fantastic. We also recently stayed again in July '24 but for 7 nights this time. We had a gold lodge right at the top of the site which was also fantastic. It was immaculate, very modern and I felt so comfortable there. There is a path leading to a quiet country lane at the top of the site which was nice for walking our dog. The views from there were amazing. The staff are very friendly and so were the people I came across who owned lodges on the site. We love Shaldon and it's a good base to visit nearby places for days out such as Brixham, Torquay, Dartmouth etc. Loved it here, thank you!

Fantastic experience: I own a lodge at CoastView and it is in a stunning location. However, the communication between the site management team and the lodge owners could be better as issues, such as inadequate wifi connectivity, remain unresolved and this leads to disappointment and mars an otherwise beautiful experience. Having said that I love it here but read the contract carefully and go in with ‘your eyes open’ If you are considering buying into the CoastView Community knock on the door of a lodge owner who can put you in touch with the WhatsApp group and have chat.

Positive experience: Good food at the Bucket and Spade, pity their opening hours are not as user friendly as they could be. Staff are pleasant and helpful, and the views are tremendous. Breakfast is excellent, enjoyed by the family on several occasions.

Fantastic experience: This is the 4th time at Coast View and it doesn't disappoint. We've been in a two bed chalet to a now 3 bed platinum lodge and oh my god it's beautiful. The interior of the lodge to the views over the sea absolutely spectacular. The staff are so friendly and helpful, a real pleasure to deal with. 5* recommendation.

Fantastic experience: We have just returned from a short break at Coastal View. Even though we arrived early, the reception staff was very friendly and helpful and let us in as it had been cleaned. Our chalet was tastefully decorated with everything you could possibly need even down to a sandwich toaster.The comfortable beds were made up and big fluffy towels provided. The sea views were spectacular. We ate in the Bucket and Spade restaurant a few times. The food was very good. A special mention for Sarah and Beth who looked after us so well and were such fun. Finally , we used the swimming pool each morning which started the day off well. The holiday exceeded our expectations.

Fantastic experience: Noah's cafe/restaurant /bar on the site, serves a good breakfast, the staff are extremely helpful, I have a food intolerance, and they could not have been more helpful. The whole site has changed, with some stunning views all around, and the reception staff are always cheerful.

Fantastic experience: Lovely site with lots to do for the kiddies. Short staffed while we were there but what staff there were couldn't have been more helpful. They all deserve medals. Nothing too much trouble and always pleasant and cheerful. Lovely food at reasonable prices. Well done everyone you made our stay a happy one regardless of Storm Hannah.

Negative experience: Not long arrived home after a stay at Coast View, Shaldon. Awful place! It’s peak season and they have removed caravans leaving pipes, wires, broken concrete amongst other debris scattered around. When first arrived the sewerage wasn’t even capped off. Would never recommend this place, if they can do this during peak season clearly they (the site owners) have no consideration for holiday makers. It is a real shame as the site could be lovely and the views are out of this world. I would never recommend this place. It is a health hazard!! Also to add to the state of the place, the bar/restaurant closes just after 9pm! No where locally you can sit and enjoy the views and a glass of wine, unless you walk across the golf course (dark that time at night, any earlier you are dodging golf balls).

Positive experience: Great place to stay , views over the sea are amazing . I think the gardens and shrubs/hedges could be looked abit better though ! The pizzas they do in the restaurant are delicious.

Fantastic experience: Excellent accommodation, we were in a more expensive caravan (platinum) as a special treat, it was at the top of a very steep hill. There is a lovely indoor pool with a small pool which is suitable for children too. The Ode pizza restaurant was onsite, we didn't go so I don't know what it is like. Staff friendly and helpful.

Negative experience: The site is on a very steep hill. If you dont have a car, it's challenging. Waiting at the bus stop is highly dangerous. The verges have not been cut back for decades. We asked about a site taxi to book to and from Shaldon. It required 24 hrs notice. The next day we were readvised that this service was available to owners only. Our chalet did not have a fire alarm even though in the booklet it said there should. I found the reception staff not particularly helpful and accommodating. Beautiful views, and a pleasant pool. But far too expensive. That's the price you pay for peak season breaks!

Fantastic experience: My first visit today and this is a holiday park way above the standard including a fab area to get together, chill out, eat pizza and drink a sundowner or two! The pool is immaculate, warm and safe for the kids too. With all the conversion work done, this place looks amazing and I haven't even mentioned the stunning views yet - probably some of the best in Devon if not the whole of the South West. Shaldon is just down the road and is a nice place to walk around including a beach, ice-cream parlour and enough coffee shops even for me.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful setting and the site have just spent millions doing it up. There's a new pool there and spa along with a lovely restaurant. The views up there really are spectacular. Lovely place to stay and worth checking out.

Positive experience: Jaw dropping views but the lack of footpaths and the traffic in the Teign valley didn't do it for me.

Fantastic experience: I have recently bought a lodge at Coast View Shaldon. It is one of the best thinkgs i have done in years! Dan did the negotiating for us very professionally and Angie is great for any queries or problems or helping us get bookings over the summer hols (a time when we dont want to use the lodge). the whole set up is friendly, professional and its a pleasure to deal with them. As for the park itself hubby and myself are very impressd with the location (beautiful views) and the new restaurant/bar that has just opened. Sheldon is a lovely village and the surrounding areas has plenty to do ie restaurants beaches, parks etc. I cant wait to return with my husband and my two daschunds. I can highly recommend for buying or renting. Christine Springer

Positive experience: Don't believe them when they suggest paying extra for private parking. The chalets are too close together to get cars in. They also advertise free WiFi but it is only 15 minutes free before you need to cough up a cred card. Chalets are fine and so too is the rest of the park.
