HYVE Llanelli Gym

Negative experience: Feel like Hyve has gone downhill massively over the last few months. Pros: flexible membership, reasonable price, good class variety. Cons: my recent experiences have been grim here. Bad sewage smells throughout the gym, the larger studio space is damp with visible pools of water - leaving my socks wet after a training session. The space has been renovated and equipment moved, which now feels very cramped and disorganised. Potential to be a great gym but at the moment is a bit of a mess.

Negative experience: Postives - Great price and nice to see a variety of equipment there and the 24hr access is great which means i can go anytime. Negatives - too compact equipment to close together which means your on top of each other and the lack of heating there leaves the place freezing its like working out in an ice box, i get that it cant be to warm but come on dont be tight with the heating. Surely they can invest in heat for your members aswell not just painting the place. If its the same again this year through the winter then I would consider looking for another gym. Lastly Saturday mornings cant get a parking space as park run take up all the parking spaces when there not even there to use the gym

Fantastic experience: Really rate The Hyve Gym — decent membership prices and I love the credit system where you can swap points for different things. The 24hr access works perfectly for my schedule, and the atmosphere is always positive. Never any judgment, just good vibes and support. All round a great gym in Llanelli!

Fantastic experience: Proper Gym. I live in Yorkshire now and use JD Gyms where everyone’s on their phones or in the mirror, here the equipment is good, people were training, in and out, showers are good too, recommend for the serious trainer

Fantastic experience: Truly one of the best gyms I’ve ever stepped foot in. The value for money is absolutely unbeatable — and the classes? Next level. Better than Les Mills, genuinely on par with CrossFit, but at a fraction of the cost. Having worked at Les Mills in Auckland, New Zealand — right at the heart of where it all began — I’ve seen first-hand the standard so many gyms around the world aspire to. Yet somehow, this place matches that energy and raises it with a vibe that’s totally its own. From the structured sessions to the DJ in the corner spinning banger after banger… it was unreal. Honestly gutted I was only there for work. What a place. Grateful I got to experience it, even just for a short while.

Negative experience: Great to see lots of equipment to use for everything you need to work out with, only down sides are some of the padding on the equipment really needs replacing as it's worn and breaking away and can cause some injuries and machine in need of service and repair, why aren't these checked by the staff and owner? Also make sure you dress warm as it can be really cold with no heating there which really isnt good for what you pay to be freezing cold while working out.

Fantastic experience: I trained here whilst away for work and i must say i was very impressed. Lots of equipment and weights. Not overly busy when i trained at around 4pm. And the staff was fantastic. And at only £10 for the week it was a bargain. Will 100% use again if i come this way again for work. Great facilities at the hyve. Keep it up all. Its what all gyms should be.

Positive experience: Hyve is a good gym with a good monthly and weekly price but probably doesn’t provide enough for more experienced lifters. Weight plates are mainly bumpers which means it’s hard to get over 200kg on a bar. Found a couple of items too small, couldn’t use the GHD properly as it was too narrow and the glute drive wouldn’t connect over my waist (I have a 34inch waist) so would expect to fit but is an easy fit with an extender. The gyms machines are largely techno gym so aren’t the best but most people don’t care. Studios looked great and gym as a whole was very well presented and felt friendly. A great local gym for recreational lifting.

Fantastic experience: I'd lived across the road and had watched the transformation from "Ramps" to "The Hyve". The Sospan Road Runners had dragged me around the Swiss Valley Res' on a muddy, winter run, early on a Saturday morning. Slate grey skies. A week of relentless rain. Stiff legs after a week of running and biking. Thoughts of brekkie at The Hyve drove me on. Some fresh clothing and in we staggered. The cafe welcomed us. Classy. Lots of wood on display. Lovely. Flapjacks on the counter caught my eye. I ordered a cappuccino and a T1 Breakfast. Stunning. Then a chocolate flapjack, oh gosh, I need more. Easy parking and lots of it. A great location. Fantastic staff and huge kudos to Gary Howells. ...... afterwards, staring into the empty cup of my second cappuccino, I tbought about how .young faces grow sad and old and hearts of fire grow cold.

Fantastic experience: Great gym..My husband and I both go. We have the family membership. Lots of equipment and space, Clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. I've not used the cafe yet, but I will as I've heard it's great. Glad I found this gym, I love it!

Fantastic experience: The cafe is lovely, with really nice, friendly staff. It's easy to get to, there is ample parking and the venue it's self is very quirky, clean and tidy. Really recommend that you give it a visit to try out some of the awesome food on the menu at reasonable prices.

Positive experience: Great place! staff are friendly. I have mainly been making use of the classes, and so far I'm enjoying them. The PT's that facilitate them have been nothing but friendly and motivating. I've had a great workout at each class(not that ive done attended them all yet). The introduction to barbells with Kate has been brilliant, she takes her time to fully explain the techniques and the environment is friendly and dare i say it, quite fun. Gareth is also super friendly, he encourages you to keep going but without too much pressure and is chatty and puts you at ease.... i would like to see more morning classes or maybe some bags but other than that I'm glad I made the move.

Fantastic experience: Having trained in numerous gyms around Carmarthenshire I would say that this is the best gym that I have trained in. Excellent strength and conditioning equipment for all levels. Plus the gym is absolutely spotlessly clean. Very friendly knowledgeable staff on site to assist if required. Give it a go you won’t be disappointed!
