Fantastic experience: Matt was my trainer for around 6 months. Our hybrid training sessions were incredibly effective, allowing me to balance workouts at the gym with in person sessions. I saw significant progress during our time together, both in my fitness levels and overall confidence. Matt's expertise not only helped me improve my strength and technique, but he also took the time to educate me about training principles, which has been invaluable. Fantastic experience: I have been training with Matt for the past 3 months. When I first started I thought I would be getting an hour of strength training per week, however it's much more than that. Matt has helped me with my nutrition, giving me a calorie target range and ideas how to achieve this, including help with macros. We have weekly check ins either face to face or online, where we can discuss my progress or any difficulties I may have had over the previous week. I now have a much healthier attitude towards food, making better choices. Matt has an app where food and training is logged, I can use this app any time to ask questions about my training or nutrition. Matt is a first class coach, I feel I have progressed so much with my strength training and I have learnt so much from him, Matt will always correct form, if needed, ensuring I am performing the exercise safely and correctly, I started with Matt already having an injury, he has adapted exercises as necessary, he has also helped with my recovery, this is due to his in depth knowledge of how the body works. I would definitely recommend MCT fitness, Matt is invested in you and getting the best from you.

Fantastic experience: Update: So I’ve been part of Matt’s troop for 10 sessions now. Matt has helped me build up my fitness to the point I’ve started doing his trail runs on a Saturday morning as well, like his circuits the runs are also first class. Different scenic location each week and caters for differing levels of fitness (although a base fitness is required). Circuits continue to be varying and challenging. I’ve genuinely never met Matt before this and stumbled across him on Instagram of all places, he’s great at his job and if you’re considering getting fit (and having fun doing it) to give his classes a go. Matt at MCT fitness is first class. After getting some pretty unrealistic prices for circuits elsewhere I stumbled across MCT fitness in West Kirby. I’m 46 with a rapidly growing dad bod. I went down, Matt was very welcoming as were the rest of the troop. It was full of like minded people who wanted to get fit but do it whilst having fun. No Gym bunnies in sight! I’ve been to two sessions so far, both have been varied, challenging and most importantly fun! Matt is on hand to make sure your ‘form’ is correct to make sure you make the most of the session.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with Matt for many years from boxing to trail running and for the last 9 months strength training. Due to a childhood osteo condition in my knees Matt adapted exercises and worked on building strength to support my knees and I don’t suffer pain. Highly recommended if you want personal training, not just physical training.

Fantastic experience: I’m a newbie to the Troop Trail runs on Tuesdays & Saturdays but am really enjoying the classes. Matt certainly knows how to get the best out of you, yet is very motivational & allows you to judge your own pace & how much you want to push yourself. The variation in location, terrain & body weight circuit exercises is great to keep things fresh & fun! There’s a great ethos amongst the class & everyone has been so welcoming! I’d highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: I'm a recent joiner, two group sessions under my belt at West Kirby School and really enjoying it. Great mix of exercises, Matt creates a fun atmosphere and you're not pushed to go for the burn. Challenging but achievable and the hour flies by. Strongly recommend for anyone wanting to notch their fitness level up or maintain an existing good level of fitness.

Fantastic experience: I have been doing the SLF (Stronger Leaner Fitter) group sessions with Matt in West Kirby for the past 4 weeks and have been really enjoying them. I am reasonably active and have enjoyed running and cycling and playing sports but as I get older I realise the importance of needing core strength work to help prevent injuries and other problems. I can't motivate myself to go to the gym and I love being outdoors so these sessions are perfect for me - I only wish I'd started doing them sooner! Thanks Matt, I am looking forward to further improvements and a stronger leaner fitter future!!

Fantastic experience: My wife has been to MCT classes for around 3years. After recently suffering a mild heart attack I decided to see Matt regarding diet and nutrition. He was able to explain things to me so that I could understand and change my dietary requirements going forwards. Matt is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the the human body and nutritional requirements. I now feel more confident in what types of food I am able to eat. I have lost weight steadily and Matt has explained what types of exercise to incorporate with my new lifestyle. Matt is an excellent life coach and I would highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I got in touch with Matt after running my first marathon. I asked about a niggly knee and if his Monday and Wednesday classes would help sort this out. The classes are well structured, always different and leave you feeling as if you have had worked really hard but not too hard. The strength training is helping my knee and I'm hoping to try the troop runs soon. Every session is different and everyone who goes is really friendly. Absolutely would recommend Matt and his expertise.

Fantastic experience: I have recently joined troop trail and already I am loving the weekly runs. The group are friendly and the run itself gives a little bit of variance from normal road running with a bit of body weight exercises thrown in the mix during the run. As a coach Matt is friendly and approachable ensuring the group is covered at the front and the back. The pace and distance is good and I am enjoying either an evening run to finish off the day or a Saturday morning run to start the day. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have known Matt for a number of years now through attending his troop trail groups and at Christmas I started an 8 week PT course. I decided after having 2 children with a very small age gap that I owed it to myself and my body to properly get back into shape and get back to feeling like me again. Matt started the whole program off with a nutrition session, where we looked at my relationship with food and exercise and where we mapped out my short term, medium term and long term goals, focusing primarily on how I wanted to feel. Matt made great suggestions about how to track my progress and suggested setting myself some non-negotiables that were realistic to suit my lifestyle, but also challenging enough to bring about the changes that I wanted to see. Along with all of this he set my calorie deficit and protein totals, which allowed me to stay on track myself. All of the sessions with Matt were fun, amazingly structured and challenging and he was so in tune with the progress that I was making and how far to push me each week. Matt was so supportive and non-judgmental throughout the whole process and was always able to come up with suggestions and ideas to combat any hurdles along the way. I genuinely thought that being coached meant that I would receive a meal plan and an exercise plan, which would be quite prescriptive, however it has been so much more than that. I've made so much progress physically, mentally and also with the informed food choices that I am now able to make. I feel so educated now, and empowered to continue with everything that I have learnt from Matt. Having Matt as a PT totally isn't a luxury, it's an investment in yourself right now and your future self. I would highly recommend investing in a PT program with Matt!

Fantastic experience: Matt at MCT Fitness always makes the workouts challenging but fun to suit all abilities whilst understanding your fitness goals. Matt has plenty of experience and expertise in the industry as well as a passion for helping people get fit and healthy, in body and mind with excellent nutritional advice too. I have been with MCT Fitness for 5 years, it has given me great confidence as well as teaching correct form and technique. More recently, Matt has gone above and beyond. Struggling with peri menopause, this was impacting my health and motivation. Matt would occasionally check-in or offer messages of support and encouragement which were very much appreciated - After returning to MCT, my motivation has returned, this has had huge benefits for my overall well-being - it’s good to be back at class. Fantastic experience: I’ve recently moved to the Wirral and was looking for somewhere I could go to carry on with my fitness journey. I’d previous been to a boot camp and came across MCT Fitness by chance on FB and it just what I was looking for. I was a bit nervous and apprehensive going to my first session, but I shouldn’t have been as everyone was friendly, I wasn’t made to feel like the ‘newbie’ and Matt was very good at making sure I was doing the exercises correctly. Matt made the session fun and I felt as though I’d had a thorough workout. I’m now going to boot camp twice a week and have started to notice a difference in my fitness already. MCT fitness has been a great find!

Fantastic experience: If your looking for a PT who cares about your fitness journey then Matt is the PT. I have had weekly PT sessions with Matt for the past 3 months and he is focused on helping me achieve my goals. My lifting has progressively improved over the short time I have been working with him and importantly, he has massivly corrected and improved my technique. I would highly recommend Matt to anyone looking for a highly qualified personal trainer. Matt is the best PT I have worked with.

Fantastic experience: I have been doing PT sessions with MCT Fitness for ~3 years and have been really pleased with the improvement in my strength, fitness and body shape. Recently, I have been looking to reduce my weight further. Matt gave me the advice (calorie targets, practical/achievable goals and nutritional info) that has enabled me to loss about a pound per week over 10 weeks. Fantastic experience: From day 1 Matt has supported my training and nutrition programme in a supportive and positive way. Coming back from a broken ankle, I was unsure how to train & move without fear of pain. He provided varied workouts, all adaptable for 1-1 and to do at home. This was backed up by regular check ins and discussions around my short and long term goals. His nutritional knowledge is superb and Mat’s non judgemental approach has really helped me to question my own relationship around food and exercise. I have seen weight loss, measurements reduced, and stronger and better form when training, with regained ankle and muscle movement. But most of all, I have gained confidence in myself and my decisions. Thoroughly recommend :)

Fantastic experience: I first came along to a Saturday morning troop trail conditioning session in November on the recommendation of a friend and since then have also attended the SLF Circuit sessions. I am loving it! Matt is a superb and experienced trainer. He encourages you to push yourself, very much promoting a "can do" mentality. He makes all his classes and trails great fun, introducing lots of variety, and no aspect is intimidating. Importantly he is also very quick to spot if you are putting yourself at risk of injury or failing to isolate the appropriate muscle group through doing an exercise incorrectly, and is very good at demonstrating the correct technique. And as a bonus the wider group is really friendly with a great sense of camaraderie, I already feel part of the community. A milestone for me was the Run Aintree 10K yesterday. I hit the 8K mark and realised I was in sniffing distance of cracking 1 hour for the race which for me would be a tremendous result. Here’s the point where my MCT training comes in…six months ago, before I joined the MCT community, I know full well that, already feeling close to my physical limit, I would have instinctively thought "There's no way I can do that" and would have slacked off. However, I gave myself a good talking to, repeated to myself Matt’s regular mantra of "mind over matter" and lo! I crossed the finish line in in 59 minutes and 42 seconds! The MCT sessions have helped two-fold: first, with upping my fitness levels generally, but secondly, and perhaps more importantly, Matt’s sessions have fundamentally changed my mind-set towards exercise – believing you can do it is very much more than half the battle!

Fantastic experience: Joined MCT fitness recently to attend the troop trail sessions, sessions that take you off the beaten track and build your stamina and fitness. I totally love this style of fitness training. Friendly groups, all ranges of fitness, brilliant locations and expert support and coaching.....what more could you need? Daytime runs are great, evening runs present a totally different challenge especially during the dark winter season, but always great fun. MCT also hosts Boxercise and circuit classes, along with providing expert personal trainer support for those that want it. Do yourself a favour and come join the rest of us at MCT!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have trained with Matty for more than 18months both in a group and a one to one session,we have both made great improvements in our physical and mental wellbeing.The groups are very friendly and welcoming.i would recommend them to anybody looking to improve their fitness.there is a variety of classes to choose from to suit different needs.

Fantastic experience: MCT sessions are absolutely brilliant. Matty keeps training fresh so each session is different and you never get bored. I can’t recommend enough, I’ve even cancelled a membership with a prestigious gym to be part of the MCT team

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Matt's classes and PT sessions. I've joined many gyms, had varied PTs over the years and would honestly say his are the best. Matt takes into consideration each individuals ability and makes you feel very comfortable and more importantly confident in what you are doing. Varied activities and lots of fun! If you are wanting to keep fit, don't waste your money on the gym and get yourself booked into a class or PT session with Matt !

Fantastic experience: Matt is a genuinely great guy with a good sense of humour and work ethic. He spends time getting to know his client's needs of fitness and nutrition and devises individual plans to suit their requirements. Matt is always positive - he manages to push you to achieve that little bit more whilst still making exercise enjoyable!

Fantastic experience: I would recommend MCT Fitness to everyone whatever your fitness level, Matty is an experienced trainer that believes in quality over quantity ensuring you are exercising correct but also pushes you. I love Troop Trail Fitness which surprised me as I’m not a great runner or was a fan of it, but the routes change weekly, the group are amazing, supportive and fun and we keep each other inspired and going when we flagging. Stronger Leaner Fitter is the perfect all body toning/cardio combined outdoor class every class is a different circuit that works. I have been going to class with Matt for a year now not only have I seen an improvement t in my Fitness level but my focus and mind, it inspires me to do events with the group like Tough Mudder, Born Survivor and Rough Runner, both classes excellent conditioning for these events .

Fantastic experience: I would recommend MCT Fitness to any one regardless of fitness or age. Matt differentiates every exercise so it is suitable for beginners through to experienced. He has created a friendly and social community where everyone feels welcome.

Fantastic experience: I was introduced to Matt's Troop Trails on Christmas Eve 2017 and have never looked back since that day. I didn't think Bootcamps were for me as I still had a lot of strength to build but the Troop Trails were a great way to get a full body workout, gradually increase my fitness levels and endurance, and have more fun than I've ever had before! Night trails are my absolute favourite as the dark adds another element of adrenaline and challenge. The group are very welcoming and extremely supportive. No one is ever left behind. We all struggle from time to time but there is always someone offering that motivation to keep going and helping you believe in yourself. Matt works very hard to provide new routes and he always keeps us on our toes and striving past our limits! He is the most professional, friendly and supportive trainer I've ever worked with and I have no hesitation in recommending him and MCT Fitness as a company to anyone looking for a refreshing and exciting challenge with a great group of people!

Fantastic experience: Matty is a great trainer, enthusiastic and motivational. Each class caters to all fitness abilities. Troop trail conditioning is particularly good if you want to prepare for events such as tough mudder etc. Great bunch of people to keep fit with too. Whatever your fitness goals are I would recommend MCT fitness to help you achieve them.

Fantastic experience: I love training with this group, everyone is so friendly and Matt the trainer is very knowledgeable. It does not matter whether you are a complete exercise novice and need coaching or you are experienced and need pushing to your limit, Matt the former Marine is able to do it all. This is a great group to join, MCT Fitness is a wonderful unique experience.
