Fantastic experience: I love working with Kate for personal training. Her no-nonsense approach is a breath of fresh air, keeps me accountable, and helps me accomplish exercises I had previously convinced myself I couldn’t do. Fantastic experience: I have seen great results in the 2 months I've been with Motive8. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming and all of the team are lovely and put you at ease. They listen to your goals and work with you to reach them. If you don't like a particular exercise they will work with you to find an alternative. The nutritional advice is also great and had really helped me. Jenny was amazing at going through what i needed help with and introducing me to Emily who I've been working. Emily has been a great help and very supportive and the results have been amazing. Thank you guys.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been doing a weekly PT session at Motive8, and at 50, it’s made a real difference. I feel stronger, move better, and it's noticeably improved my cycling. The sessions are well balanced—challenging but not punishing. My trainer knows how to push without going over the top, and that’s made it something I actually look forward to each week. It’s helped me feel more in control during a bit of a midlife reset.

Fantastic experience: I signed up to the six week Women’s Strength Training course to build my confidence in the gym and make sure I was learning proper form following an injury. I was new to Motiv8 but straight away felt really welcomed by Kate and the rest of the girls. The sessions are really informative but also fun, and having a small group means you get a good amount of personalised feedback from Kate but also the rest of the group spotting you, giving you tips and encouraging you to challenge yourself. Kate gives homework every week too and there is a WhatsApp group where we share pics and complain about DOMS! Overall it’s been great and I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I've been training with Kate for around 3 months. I was specifically looking for a biomechanics coach so that I could lift in the gym without constantly getting injured. Kate has been great at teaching my correct technique, so than I can progress without getting injured. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I started at Motive8 North purely to get a more motivated for the gym and get a better routine from myself. What I did not expect was the enjoyment I got from my sessions and the potential I could see in my training to get better. The gym, staff and clients are all very friendly and welcoming making the overall experience more welcoming than I could have ever imagined. I have been trained by Beth and Kate who have been amazing, and fun, to work with. My goals in my training have now changed and I can see the potential of continuing with my programmes at Motive8. I would recommend anyone to start at Motive8 regardless of starting point and goals, you will not regret it!!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been working with Emily for around 1 year now and to say it’s had a significant effect on my life would be an understatement. Emily has turned me from a couch potato to someone who runs ultramarathons (no joke). Emily has pushed me to be the best version of me providing the right mix of motivation and support. Motive8 is a fantastic space and all the trainers and other members are lovely.

Fantastic experience: I've been using Motive8 North services for almost 2 years now. I've recommended it to family and friends too. I could say that Emily and Jenny have always provided me with the best service a fitness newbie could ask for. Simply because they know how to motivate a person. I can't thank Jenny enough for introducing me to Emily. Emily has been my personal trainer and a friend since joining. I can't thank her enough for answering all the crazy questions that I had and still continue to come up with some until today (don't hate me for it :) ). I can't thank her enough for being patient, sharing her knowledge with me and showing me the exercises I wasn't able to remember again and again. Until today she continues to be flexible with me and my needs. I'm always equipped with motivation and desire to exercise before each session, because I know Emily always gives me challenges or builds up the exercises previously performed in a way to show a progress. Fantastic experience: 10/10 would recommend motive8 and Kate… I came across motive8 after googling ‘gym classes Leeds city centre’. Little did I know 8 months later I would’ve completed 2 x do it in 12 plans and be a regular gym/class go’er at motive8. Best thing I’ve ever done! I gained almost 2 stone during lockdown and just gave up looking after myself. I felt lathargic, unhappy in my clothes and my excuse to everything was ‘cba’. Once I got back into the office I decided to attend couple of motive8 classes to try get back into a routine and I loved them - the environment was so welcoming and, although the classes were tough, you could go at your own pace. After doing one of Kate’s classes, I decided to approach her about PT. I felt like I needed some structure and accountability. My ‘new year new me goal’ for 2022 was to get back to my prelockdown self, but every couple of weekends I failed. Kate and I discussed my goals and I took the plunge with the do it in 12 plan (details on the website - I’d recommend investing in yourself if you have a specific goal - you won’t regret it). My primary goal was weight loss, but Kate’s PT sessions made me actually enjoy the process (something I never thought I’d say!). I’ve always dreaded exercise and had the attitude of ‘let’s just get it done’. I don’t know if it’s how hard Kate made me work or how funny she is - but I actually looked forward to the GYM!! As well as smashing my weight loss goals, I felt like I was learning a lot and my goals developed. I decided to do another 12 week plan as I wanted to become more confident and focus on strength. After completing the second do it in 12 (only a few days ago) I felt like I can now go it alone (although i’m really going to miss PT’ing with Kate). I’d recommend motive8 to anyone no matter what your goals - it’s a quiet gym with someone around to always help you. The classes are intimate so you get to know other members well, who are all friendly and there’s no pressure. If you’re considering PT, i’d recommend the do it in 12 plan (and Kate as the trainer - although I am bias!). If you have a goal in mind, this is the plan for you. It’s broken down into 3 x training cycles so it keeps everything fresh and that you don’t loose motivation. I’ve hit all my targets and couldn’t have done it without Kate’s help and support, so thank you! I don’t think this will be the end of PT with Kate but wish me luck on trying it alone… #tothebatmobile

Fantastic experience: Motiv8 North is a great gym with good facilities and good people. Everyone has been very knowledgeable and supportive since I signed up after the second lockdown to get my fitness back. Having attended classes with Emily, Beth and Jenny as well as weekly PT sessions with Josh, my strength, fitness and mental health have improved dramatically. I would recommend the gym for people of all levels of fitness, especially those wanting to step things up a level or get more control on their lifestyle.

Fantastic experience: I joined Motiv8 in early September to kickstart my fitness routine with their 12 week plan and it’s been exceptional so far! More than just meeting my goals, I’ve been getting hands on support with my diet and motivational advice which is tailored to me alongside PT sessions and access to all the classes. Kate is my personal trainer and she’s great at working me hard to reach my goals, keeping me smiling during difficult sessions and also being flexible when life means my routine gets disrupted. All the trainers have their own style and are always around to cover sessions. It really feels like a nice and friendly family! All in all a great little gym that specialises in personalisation and flexibility in style!

Fantastic experience: I have been training with Kate Halsall on and off since 2014, I have to say she is the best trainer I have ever worked with, not only is she very motivating but also makes the sessions fun. I have only ever achieved my lowest weight whilst training with Kate and joining motivate gym, as its a friendly gym and everyone's happy to help. I'm back again in 2020 ready to smash my goals. Fantastic experience: I had a real wake up call when I spent a couple of days away with my Mum. She’s only 20 years older than me and seeing how poor her mobility is frightened me - I don’t want to be like that! I realised i needed to get moving and so called my superhero Kate. Kate listens to my goals and needs and even manages to cope with my quirky co-ordination problems - I have DCD - breaking moves down into tiny steps so that I am able to work out what I need to do - a lunge is a four step move for me. Above all she makes exercising fun. We have a laugh, and I am actually enjoying exercise, thanks to Kate. Already, having worked with her since July, I can move more easily, especially straight out of bed on a morning, and my strength is improving weekly. An added bonus is that I have lost a stone in weight. It was lovely when a work colleague actually said to me that she could really see a difference in me and that I was looking great - an amazing bonus as well as feeling healthier.

Fantastic experience: I've been training with Josh at motive8 for 2 months and can't recommend him and motive8 highly enough! I've always struggled staying motivated at them gym but the friendly atmosphere, support and varied work outs have got me enjoying the gym for the first time in years! Fantastic experience: I’ve been working with a personal trainer Josh from Motive8 for around 8 weeks now. We had a really good initial session he really listened to my goals but more importantly my limits. I’ve done similar things in the past and been made to throw up and this is exactly what I didn’t want. Josh took this is on board and has created a circuit that pushes me but does not make me feel sick he also provided some really simple diet changes that make a massive difference. After 8 weeks I’ve lost inches all over and my fitness level has improved 500%

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Motive8 to anyone who wants to lose weight or be healthier in general, especially those who maybe don’t have the confidence or motivation to get going by themselves. I started on Motive8’s ‘Do It In 12’ package with two sessions a week with a personal trainer and open access to the gym. I was also given diet advice which has been a really positive lifestyle change for me. Motive8 guarantee results with this package and I am delighted with my progress so far and intend to carry on beyond the 12 weeks. I’ve had the chance to work with different PTs in their gym and they’re all great people who want the best for you. At the moment I am enjoying the strength training that Josh has gradually incorporated into my workout - he’s got me striving towards clear goals in weight and reps. Without Josh and the gang I would have given up, so if you struggle with the motivation to go to a typical gym then Motive8’s more 1-to-1 customer service is for you, the clue is in the name!

Fantastic experience: I use the Motive8 gym at Saxton and have HIIT classes there. These classes with Emily have been brilliant, since I started in January my body has changed, I am much fitter and stronger than I used to be! I have also been her trail student for the Yoga course and she is an excellent yoga instructor.

Fantastic experience: I joined Motive8 about 7-8 months ago now and haven't looked back! Daily classes are different every day, trainers are incredibly knowledgable, friendly and approachable. There is no "attitude" like you get in other gyms, everyone is just super friendly and the atmosphere is always good!

Fantastic experience: I decided to join Motiv8 North for a bootcamp in 2016... I went on my own and was welcomed by everyone, so if you can't encourage someone to join you, then its not an issue. It was hard work, but then in my book its no pain no gain!! I loved it, so will be returning for the May 2017 camp.

Fantastic experience: The Motive8 North personal training team are amazing! I’ve been working with Motive8 North for two years and the level of support they provide both in terms of motivation and nutritional and fitness support is second to none. With the help of their personal trainers I have lost two stone, dropped three dress sizes, ran in numerous events and just as importantly adopted a healthier lifestyle for the long-term.
Fantastic experience: Having joined from a much larger gym, the friendly (but focused) culture of the motive8 North team was really refreshing. It's not about plodding along on a treadmill, it's about making real fitness and physical changes and (hopefully) challenging yourself every time you're there. I can highly recommend the circuits classes by Ieuan, Chris and Lucy, which are simply fantastic...if you like hard work and feeling sick!
Fantastic experience: Started evening circuits a few months ago and still really enjoying it! The personal trainers that take the classes get everyone really motivated and every session is different, so it never gets boring. The friendly atmosphere adds to the enjoyment - would thoroughly recommend trying it

Fantastic experience: I had not considered personal training until someone suggested that I contact motive8 and talk to Jenny Cromack, one of their personal trainers. I was surprised what a difference having a one to one session would make. Having someone there to 'motivate' me to exercise just a little bit harder is reaping rewards. These personal trainers really know how to inspire you to reach your goals and take your fitness to the next level.
Fantastic experience: What can I say, as I type through the pain after another hard but rewarding circuits session with Chris? In the 2 1/2 years i've been a member of Motive8 north i've changed beyond recognition, gone from a man who couldn't run 5 miles to running marathons as well as losing about 3 chins. Great, fun and healthy. What more could you want. Now i'm moving abroad I'm worried the encouragement and instruction i've received from the gang are going to be missed. Here's hoping that some of their energy and passion for fitness has rubbed off on me!
