- Friendly Staff: The staff members are frequently praised for their attentiveness and support, making newcomers feel welcomed.
- Modern Facilities: The gym has undergone significant renovations, which have resulted in an upgrade to its equipment and overall appearance, making it a highly appealing option.

- Good Equipment Variety: Many users appreciate the range of nautilus equipment available, which helps users engage various muscle groups effectively.

However, there are areas in need of improvement:
- Many users have raised concerns about the cleanliness of the changing rooms and locker facilities, with reports of malfunctioning lockers and unclean areas.

Everlast Gyms - Oldham: Opinions
Negative experience: I joined and after witnessing members spitting at the pool side and in the pool Members blowing noses in the pool I reported this they said it happens everywhere!!!! Disgusting I had to fight to cancel it’s a health and safety issue The pool is dirty The staff don’t care don’t and refuse to challenge bad practices Also parents taking up the changing rooms chatting during the private lessons Sadly I was looking at re joining but appears it’s not changed after bumping into some members sad really it could be a great place
Positive experience: Good one
Positive experience: Great gym love most of the nautilus equipment but missing the little things like step platforms (aerobic steps) and things like hyperextension and would do this a better back row other wise I would give 5 stars
Negative experience: Nice gym, fantastic facilities but damn… a gym of this stature closes its steam room an hour early to the actual closing time and the weekend timings are just shocking. The changing rooms need more care… everytime I go in, there’s water and mud everywhere and it’s just not nice. No complaints with the facilities itself, the equipment is great but the cleanliness of the changing rooms needs work and the timings are horrible. Last week, they tried closing the steam room 15 minutes early and everyone was stood outside waiting for the staff to turn it back on…. The staff are very friendly and attentive! Which is always good.
Negative experience: There are fake influencers everywhere with their cameras. It's really uncomfortable trying to train with them filming you. There are grown teenage boys in the female changing rooms while their mums gossip. inappropriate and people take pictures in the changing rooms as well so you're constantly trying to not get filmed or snapped. The swimming pool is dirty and people spit all over the steam room. No gym manners weights everywhere snd noone is encourage to put them back. When classes are on you're told to move from half the floor quite rudely even though you pay for the membership and its so frustrating. Cancelled twice at the gym and they ignored me. contacted head office and they refused to cancel the membership so now having to escalate this to the ombudsman. joke a gym honestly. Not worth it at all
Negative experience: Lack of cleanness, soup dispenser naver gets refill, members not getting value for money. I’ve complained many times regarding the soup dispenser and they just apologised but never got solved.
Positive experience: Staff great, facilities good. Mirrors in womens changing rooms way too high!
Negative experience: Left this gym because parents hang out in the ladies changing rooms with their adolescent sons (ages approx 9 -13), while waiting for other children having swim lessons. This not adequately challenged by staff, even though Everlast policy says that, over the age of 8, everyone must be in the changing area for their sex. Staff not aware of this policy, it seems, even though it's pretty common sense. The ladies changing room is misused by mothers and their sons as a waiting room, often with phones in hands and I have seen parents taking photos of their kids in there, and also poolside. There is a cafe/waiting area at reception for this purpose. If EVERLAST runs children's (up to the age of 16) swim lessons for large parts of the day, they should provide a family changing room in addition to single sex changing rooms for adults. Female members should be able to change in female only changing rooms which isn't packed with people just hanging out and certainly not with males over the age of 8 present. At the very least, more cubicles could be provided, as there are only 2 which are always occupied at busy times. Baby changing facilities are also inadequate given the number of babies in the changing area some mornings, with parents changing soiled nappies on the benches, which is neither safe for the babies not sanitary for other users. Since it's mostly mothers who bring children for swim lessons, female members are largely affected by their lack of provision which balances the needs of families against the protected characteristic of female sex. Even the disabled changing room can only be accessed through either male or female areas, how does that work for a disabled person who has a carer of the opposite sex? This set up is really badly thought out. It's a challenge to find a gym where female changing provision is truly female only and a safe space to get changed. Gyms which ensure this will attract more business from women, who are a growing customer base of the fitness market.
Positive experience: Incredible transformation. However, still a few things to improve on. You need to reinstate the water fountain in the pool area. Hydration is important, especially after a steam - your forcing people to drink shower water (this is not good for public health). Some machines are too close together. There is some space upstairs not being used efficiently. Consider moving some cardio equipment upstairs. Keep free weights downstairs Apart from that. Good job! The staff are great
Fantastic experience: Not a bad gym and staff are usually very helpful. Brilliant price and excellent for what I need it for. The reviews don't do it justice but it has been recently renovated so it is much better than it was prior to this.
Positive experience: Good gym, great equipment and helpful staff. I just wish they has dumbbells that increased by 1kg. Lightest dumbbells weight is 3kg and then it jumps up to 6 then 9kg.
Fantastic experience: Go there everyday steam sauna
Fantastic experience: Plenty of choice the staff were friendly and helpful
Positive experience: I attend for the pool only. The pool is warm and not too busy.
Negative experience: What a joke no membership cap and the place has gone right down hill vaping in the pool area and no space to get changed might as well go else where…..
Fantastic experience: Good equipment and the facilities are immaculate
Fantastic experience: Friendly and polite staff and great quality/quantity of equipment. Nice environment and big changing room areas. Swimming pool really big and nice water temperature. I only have a missed sled push/pull. Also the wall balls target is really low.
Fantastic experience: Could be a decent gym if everything wasn't broken, no lockers at all, all of them broken. Changing rooms and toilets not the cleanest. Half the treadmils not working, pool out of order every other day. And the list goes on. Paying £40 a month not justified at all !! Edit- gym has now been fully refurbished, all brand new equipment, new changing rooms and lockers, looks so much better changed the whole appearance. Everything is fixed as it should be! 5*
Fantastic experience: Yes spot on Deffo be back
Positive experience: Subject: Suggestion for Extended Gym Hours Firstly, I want to commend the gym on its incredible facilities, including the state of equipment, helpful staff, and the swimming pool, which I am eager to try. The overall environment is highly commendable. However, one significant concern I have is the current closing times, particularly on weekends. As a regular gym goer, I find the limited hours to be quite restrictive. This lack of flexibility can be a major inconvenience, especially for those of us who have varying schedules. Rather than just highlighting a problem, I would like to offer a constructive solution. It would be greatly appreciated if the gym could consider extending the closing times by an additional 2-4 hours. If operating 24 hours a day is not feasible at this time, even a modest extension would make a significant difference for many members.
Fantastic experience: Lovely gym
Fantastic experience: I’ve visited this gym today and I am amazed by everything I experienced there. Starting from equipment, personnel, boxing room and swimming pool. The only thing missing is sauna room but that’s a very minor issue. It definitely deserves a 5* review. I’ll be definitely coming back.
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience after they renovated. There are more machines that train each muscle group with the best quality and squeeze . Swimming ♂️ Sauna ♀️ And an aesthetic boxing room
Fantastic experience: I've been going for 4 weeks not, facilities are fully refurbished, plenty of machines and free weight area is good, tried a class (breathe) which was difficult but fun! I've also started training with hermione and she's been fantastic, she pushes me when needed and I'm seeing muscles come through in such a short time! Only downside is in the changing rooms there's only 2 private changing lockers.
Positive experience: Joined in Feb 24 and I'm loving it, such a friendly bunch of ppl, the gym floor gets quite bust monday to friday from around 5pm to 7pm but there's a room upstairs that you can use for free weights if there's no class going on..classes are few at the minute as they are still relatively new but things will progress I'm sure, they currently have 4 classed and a spin all start either first thing in the morning and the from 6.30pm which is good. They are really focused on helping ypu hit your goals, glad I joined...
Positive experience: Good equipment since the refurb. Sadly a little busy at all times of the day now- less than savoury characters at times can get quite seedy. Hence I’ve left now
Fantastic experience: Went swimming in the pool .It was really good
Fantastic experience: This was my review from a few years ago: It’s a great place for your swimming and steam room, weights area need 2.5kg increments and the changing rooms need private cubicles for those with shame and modesty. My 2024 review will be much better I’m sure, as I’ve heard from many people that they’ve tackled many major issues.
Positive experience: Tons better since the renovation.
Negative experience: Very disappointed with this club. One PT told me to eat less carbs - laughable, one staff member was really rude, and then because of a mistake made by a member of staff at some point, I couldn't even join!. The one good thing about this gym is that it has a pool. The rest of the "upgraded" gym is pretty small compared to others.
Fantastic experience: Great gym all new equipment and staff are there to help when needed, highly recommend this gym.
Positive experience: This gym has recently been renovated so I thought I would go and review it. The reception area looks great, they have a cafe, seating area and Everlast merchandise. I was able to get myself a free day pass. The changing room area couldn’t be better loads of space and easy to find a locker, get changed and showered! Top of the range equipment meant I could exercise what I wanted when I wanted with ease. The reason why I couldn’t give this place a 5 star was because the pool facilities were closed as I believe they were still renovating on the day I went so sorry 4 stars but if you live in the area get yourself a day pass and check this gym out!
Fantastic experience: Love it
Fantastic experience: GREAT gym. The new gym is BRILLIANT. Quite clearly better than the other gyms in the local area at that price point. They've also got a booth area with healthy food, gymwear apparel, smoothies and shakes. It is really like an experience rather than just a casual gym session. My mate and I had a great session training here and will be coming back. Big help to the lads on reception Ethan and Tyler.
Positive experience: Massive improvement with all facilities!! Highly recommend
Negative experience: A company that thinks it's ok to charge a full month's subscription when half the facilities are closed. Shows a lack of care of their customers.
Fantastic experience: After the renovation i can say it’s the best gym in oldham
Fantastic experience: Had the worst time in this gym in the past year. Now that its been updated its a lot better and feels like a premium gym with all new equipment. A special shout out to Sebastian who has been great with a couple of issues I have had, he promptly resolved it. He is always answering any questions i have in a very polite and friendly manner.. Always a cheerful dude no matter what day i come in and it's a pleasure seeing him around. Cheers Sebastian, 5* because of you! :)
Fantastic experience: Wow what a gym. Huge investment means an incredible gym with fantastic equipment . Very clean, all equipment looks and feels new . Studio and classes are amazing , made to feel very welcome by both Danny and Seb. Made the decision to join on the spot after the free day pass.
Negative experience: When you get new lockers give me a call
Negative experience: This gym must be getting a refit or something as it's sports direct upstairs and a building site below so cannot comment only gave 1 star as you cannot give none plus I've never visited this gym used sports direct though
Negative experience: If I could post a zero star rating I would. Avoid this gym machines broke, steam room broke, jacuzzi has never worked.
Negative experience: Absolutely shocking condition. How people train here on a regular basis is beyond me. I feel sorry for the manager you can see his is embarrassed by the complaints people were speaking to him about. It needs gutting!
Negative experience: Decent sized gym however most equipment is broken and has been for a long time. Air conditioning doesn't work correctly making the gym unbearably hot in the summer and freezing in the winter. There are a number of leaks in heavy rain. Missing/ broken cable attachments do not get replaced. The changing rooms are awful. If not for this gym being part of a chain where you can use multiple gyms I wouldn't waste my money in signing up.
Fantastic experience: Great equipment and atmosphere. One of the only local gyms with a pool and steam room. The staff are also very friendly and helpful
Fantastic experience: U get it all for a good price
Negative experience: Nice gym and pool area. Plenty of facilities are out of order and not in the list for being repaired at least for the past year. A lot of maintenance needs happening. It has potential but management seems not interested.
Negative experience: 0 stars don't go i been Tricked. If you do the free day pass your Actually doing a contract. i did it now am doing 12 contract that i can't even end. I even sant emails all thay did is "our policy is this that bla bla" don't go don't be tricked
Negative experience: I go here simply for the swim and a steam and the fact it’s round the corner from my house. Male changing rooms are filthy, one out of 12 showers is consistent and 90% of the lockers are broke so I have to carry my bag around with me. Jacuzzi is being filled, not with water but eventually with cement. If the steam room goes, I’ll be off. Get your act together Everlast!!
Negative experience: shocking how you have the nerve to actually charge for this place not exactly cheap either its dirty dank and damp there is mould in the toilets not a single locker works no jacuzzi no steam room i wouldn't dream of going in the pool blackpool sea looks cleaner ive truthfully been in derelict shut down gyms with more equipment than this place its a disgrace. The only gains you'll get from here is gaining a disease or worse a life threatening injury from bare electric cables or faulty machines it looks as though there trying to get as much money as they can before its shut down for good because they are clearly not putting any of the membership funds back into the gym biggest con of the century its happening more and more all over fancy website fancy shop front complete con behind it all im contacting trading standards or any other available authority as this place needs closing down and should be banned from selling any further memberships at least until refurbishment or permanent closure
Negative experience: I have been a members here for 10 months and only joined with the repeated reassurance that the locker rooms were being updated (loads don't lock) and the gym was due for a refit - nothing has been done since it was DW years ago. Equipment is constantly broken, weights missing, pool, steamroom, jacuzzi shut more than they're open. It's poor and we have been repeatedly lied to in regards to an refit. DO NOT JOIN.
Negative experience: terrible equipment, horrible changing rooms as they are dirty old and lockers are broken!! not worth £30 pm should be getting paid to come here also the everything in there is old
Fantastic experience: Great gym with swimming pool and steam room
Negative experience: Very random with their opening and closing times. It can get really annoying when you look forward to go to gym and pick urself up after a busy day and they decides to close it early. Happened on few occasions now recently.
Positive experience: Nice place for a workout and swim.
Negative experience: Gym was decent until recent times where they have closed a number of times in a short amount time. Equipment is limited and does not appear that it will be replaced anytime soon. Payed for a year's membership in advance and when requesting a refund of remaining months, told that I would not get any money back despite the disruption to the gym. Staff can be rude and dismissive depending who is working the day of your visit. Emails are replied to very late and dismissed. Poor standards from a chain who are supposed to be holding up well. Would not recommend to anyone.
Fantastic experience: Nice gym well equipped
Negative experience: Unclean and my boyfriend has had two pairs of shoes stolen out of the locker! Wouldn’t recommend
Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN! DIRTY NOTHING WORKS ALWAYS CLOSED WITHOUT NOTICE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY
Negative experience: Do not join this gym not fit for purpose the changing rooms are like a sauna no air at all the changing rooms are full of used nappies all around the floor unhygienic DO NOT BOTHER JOINING IF YOUR ARE NEW CUSTOMER
Positive experience: Been 3/4 times now to find the gym or pool closed Went the other Sunday to find it closed yet again ! Very disappointing when their Website tells you it is open Complete waste of my time and money, and the other 3 people who turned up at the same time as me If your not open fair enough, but update your App, and let your members know FFS ☹️ So we are not wasting our time
Negative experience: Dirty, disgraceful, dangerous, always closed, exposed wires, jacuzzi ooo, sauna ooo, lockers ooo, Friday to Monday (over weekend) when there is free time, closed early... Trading Standards need to visit!
Negative experience: Very poorly run gym has great potential but is run down. Lockers not working, unclean changing rooms and something is always out of order either the pool, steam room and spa hasn’t been working for about a year.
Negative experience: Not even open and doesn’t know when they are open. Such a shame, first day back after months. Will unfortunately cancel membership.
Negative experience: It’s really gone down hill since I joined… a lot of the equipment is broken and has been for many months. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve gone and it’s been fully closed or the pool has been closed for one reason or another. The jacuzzi has been out of action for months. The changing rooms and toilets are disgusting. There are hardly any classes running because they can’t keep the staff. I’ve just given my notice and will be leaving at the end of April.
Negative experience: SHOCKING. take your money elsewhere, where they actually care.. The staff are clearly there to just get paid, have no knowledge of what is going on, seem like nice people but far from the point. Really was a good gym still has potential with some serious work being done, the gym is a place where many like to de stress not feel more stressed.
Negative experience: Don't join this gym they are rip-off And if you do join them good luck canceling your membership apparently it takes them 3 months to cancel your membership trust me don't join this gym not worth it
Negative experience: Visited for the 1st time and the gym is very run down with half the equipment not working and bare wires showing.
Negative experience: 1 Poor hygiene in the toilets and showers 2 Equipment in the gym that’s been damaged for months 3 Poor etiquette with gym equipment being left out and not put back The standards have dropped massively in the new year dw gym was much better with all these items ticked off
Negative experience: I've tried to get in touch after a theft that happened on site today at Royton. nobody has come back me, the theft has resulted in property stolen worth £200 approx.
Negative experience: Sort the mens changing rooms out .
Negative experience: Problems every time and they never get put right.
Fantastic experience: Jake was very helpful and helped me understand the membership plans. Friendly staff and good gym
Negative experience: The equipment in the gym itself is decent and generally well kept. However, the pool area and changing rooms are a disgrace. Easily 50% of the lockers do not work. On Saturday’s you will commonly find the changing rooms flooded with water (from people not drying after a shower) and rubbish all over the place. In the swimming pool and shower area there is mould in the grouting It seems like the gym is intentionally under staffed but it needs dedicated cleaning staff and also some investment in the changing rooms. Although the gym had a refurb, the changing rooms and pool area haven’t been updated since JJB days (circa 2008) and it really shows. Only a member due to location but I’m looking elsewhere because there doesn’t seem to be any improvements
Negative experience: Terrible-steam room has only been working 3 weeks in the last 5 months-lockers that you cannot lock no keys-e mailed management , no reply. stay away
Negative experience: Terrible Freelance instructors avoid avoid avoid You won't get paid!
Negative experience: Jacuzzi and/or steam room is always shut down, facilities need a complete refurbishment as they're well aged. Cafe/waiting area is cold with no heat. Needs money spending on it ASAP!
Negative experience: A gym waiting to close. Nothing gets fixed. They probably know it won't be around much longer so don't spend a single penny on it. Could be a good gym like it used to be.
Negative experience: The new female worker turned off all the lights leaving us in pitch black 5 minutes before closing time. There was no warning given prior to doing this even though she knew there were people still working out. Pls fire her for the sake of all gym goers
Negative experience: Lockers never worked when I went also steam room never worked same with hot tub so I started a new gym and cancelled my membership after I cancelled it it was still taking my money out of my bank every month even though I only had a month membership so I could cancel not a full contract I’ve rang them 3 times and still no change
Negative experience: I rejoined this gym earlier in the year and I was shocked to see the facilities were the same as when I left back in 2010 and I attended when it was JJB and then DW. Same tiles, lockers, showers - I see some other Everlasts have had full renovations and this desperately needs it after 20 years Pure Gym tend to freshen things up far more frequently and despite no steam, jacuzzi and pool at PG I think that there is more value at £20 pcm.
Negative experience: Since starting this gym the steam room was not working for 3 weeks, there are roughly around 150 lockers of which only 3 or so actually work. The equipment is falling apart and I would say it has not been upgraded, they are still using the same equipment that DW left behind. Following on from the equipment, the machines tend to stop working which will always happen but it shouldn’t take several weeks to fix. The jacuzzi is “under maintenance” most of the time. There are tiles missing in the pool. Saying that, the pool is still the mainstay of this gym and just needs a little TLC. Finally, my overall review is that the staff are nice, understanding and professional (considering all they hear are complaints). The gym itself is adequate but needs a lot of work done. One last thing, I have seen an advert on Instagram which is very misleading and nothing of the sort.
Negative experience: This place had so much promise. The main issues are that the lockers don’t work. Feel for workers that I’ve stopped asking when they’ll be fixed. I’ve been told 2 weeks for 4 months. Not a single men’s locker works. There was a day where my belongings had been moved. What happens the day something is stolen? I’m sure I’ll be told it’s at my own risk. The steam room hasn’t been working for over a month now. It’s one of the main reasons people go to tha gym. We’ve been told about this refurbishment for months but nothing is done. This isn’t the cheapest gym. Why? Because the offer so much, but do they actually? NOTHING WORKS! The jacuzzi is off most of the time too. I just feel sorry for tha workers and for people like me who decided to join and are tied down for a year. Yikes.
Negative experience: We pay £30 a month for minimum of a year to go and find the steam room out of order for over 2 months, zero lockers available, claiming lockers will be changed but nothing been done for over 6 months, log in issues, jacuzzi sometimes out of order, pool has tiles missing, handles, machines and padding broken or worn out!
Negative experience: Only used this gym because of a free pass. What can I say for the men’s changing room. Majority of lockers are knackered, read some of the other comments of lockers and they to this due are not been sorted. The showers omg it reminds you of some type of prison showers, no cubicles to shower in just some big open space. The jacuzzi looks knackered. The downstairs fitness room looks nice and clean, the upstairs heavy weights room seems like abit of an afterthought. I would feel ripped off if I was on a contract of £35 a month. I would think with it being called everlast gym they would have a punch bag. Which il let you guess if they have one or not ?
Negative experience: None of the lockers work and the changing rooms and shower are really dirty
Negative experience: Lockers are awful. Staff been suggesting for months they're due to be replaced asap but hasn't happened. Lucky to get to use a locker since they're all broken.
Negative experience: £30 a month isn't enough to get you a locker.
Negative experience: Great gym but the locker issues is beyond a joke now, been saying for months they are going to sort it and still no progress!
Negative experience: The main problem for both pool and gym users it the changing rooms. The pool and gym facilities are both good. But the changing rooms are abismal. Way too cold for pool users with the air con cranked up to 11. Probably quite pleasant if you're fresh from a sweaty workout in the gym though. Also, if you are the type of person to carry a locker around with you, it will come in handy here, as almost every locker is broken in some way or another. The few that do work are like looking for a needle in a haystack. Needs some serious investment in the changing facilities.
Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. If you visit at peak times you will not be able to get a locker that works and be told “it’s always like this”. The lockers are apparently “being replaced in a few weeks” and this has been the case for a while. I’d rather go and swim somewhere with facilities that are fit for purpose. Disgraceful.
Negative experience: Place is a Mess Falling Apart Management don't care
Negative experience: This gym has ONE SQUAT RACK, and not a SINGLE punchbag (Everlast: "Global leader in Boxing equipment"). The changing room, especially the floor, is forever filthy/wet/muddy. About 15% of the lockers actually work, they shut the steam room 45 minutes before closing. There are so many more things to mention but will just say it's gone way downhill since the DW days
Fantastic experience: Good place
Fantastic experience: Sometimes lockers are faulty but there are lots of lockers so have never ended up without access to one. Five stars because the equipment is great, there's so much space for various workouts. Staff are so friendly- I've been a member of countless gyms over the years (Puregym, Bannatynes, FCPC, various leisure centres) and I can say that Everlast Oldham have by far the friendliest staff... really helpful and friendly. Special shout out to Jasper who always makes everyone feel so welcome. This is the first time I've actually enjoyed going to a gym. Worth the £30 per month.
Positive experience: Front of house/reception cafe area has been smartened up, however changing room really in need of an upgrade the lockers are a mess.
Positive experience: Decent pool and gym but there's always something not working and the lockers have hardly any bands for swimmers
Negative experience: Lockers don’t work, swimming pool, steam room, jacuzzi ware always out of order. Gym is outdated
Negative experience: Waited for pool to be repaired is like waiting for xmas and also no emails to tell you this you find out from friends ridiculous that you don't send generic emails to let people know thought it was run bad when it was DW even worse now no money been spent on the changing rooms since it opened in back in 2001 appoling that you don't give any compensation for nearly a month if no pool
Fantastic experience: One of the best and cheapest gym in Manchester, good size swimming pool jaquzzi. Also the BeeNutritiousCafe is a must place to visit which is next to the gym. Great coffee and sugar free Cake's and the service is great !
