Royal Bath Hotel: Opinions
Fantastic experience: A beautiful hotel, recently updated but still keeping the heritage look, staff are wonderful, it's definitely a fantastic place to stay
Positive experience: Overall very good. Staff are great. Car parking is a bit steep, but paybyphone carpark literally next door is really decent. Location - you'll struggle to beat
Fantastic experience: Our stay at Royal Bath Hotel was absolutely delightful! the historical charm combined with modern amenities makes it unique. The room was very welcoming and clean,The staff are attentive and the restaurant buffet delicious at £15 pp. Breakfast also buffet at £12, one best breakfast i had in long time. The stunning sea is very close by 5min walk ,gym ,swimming pool, spa and get afternoon tea. We had a great convention here. Staff was brilliant to.
Fantastic experience: Amazing place, with loads of history and amazing rooms. Well worth the price. Paid for a room with a view and got a perfect see view
Negative experience: Awful, just awful, but I'll start with the positives, great location, I had a great Seaview an cleanliness is excellent. The food here is terrible, no fresh home cooked meals always buffet, tasteless bland an hard food. Coffee machine failed so they didn't bother to fix it, just said black coffee only the next day. The heating in the rooms is controlled by the hotel an is left on all the time, they said it turns off overnight, it doesn't that is wrong, creaky floor boards, small basic TV, this hotel thinks it's a a 4 star hotel, it's not, in reality it's a 2 star hotel, terrible, I will never visit again
Negative experience: Rooms are reasonable but they charge extra for literally everything else even the pool you have to pay extra for and parking is astronomical, bar is overpriced , you'd be a lot better off across the road at premier inn
Negative experience: The room was really bad, no windows and had a funky smell.
Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Bedbugs and no heating. My boyfriend booked a one night stay for my birthday and thank god it was only one night cuz it was the worst night ever. He booked the average room not a suite and we were given a room with no windows felt very caged in. The radiator wasn't working and the room was freezing we asked staff and he said there was nothing they could do but give us another blanket which was not great cuz it just kept slipping off. Then the next morning I woke up itchy and scratchy with bites all over my body the bed was riddled with bugs I don't know if it was bed bugs of nats but I went home and discarded all my clothes incase it was bedbugs.when I complained to the staff all they could offer me was 7 pounds back on the 70 pounds I spent for the night
Fantastic experience: Fantastic building, lounges and dining areas, in very good location. Spacious and airy room. Great value stay and lovely evening buffet. Helpful friendly staff.
Positive experience: Lovely hotel friendly staff clean rooms an the bathrooms are spotless was a nice stay an took full advantage of the pool an jacuzzi also the brekfast was amazing lovely choice of a fryup cereals or fruit with pure oj an aj on tap aswell as coffee an tea well worth the price i will be bk again
Fantastic experience: Good price, high level quality, beautiful place, beautiful garden, definitely ROYAL QUALITY, FRENDLY STAFF, ❤️
Fantastic experience: I am really happy with this place, initially when I arrived to the hotel , i was misguided by Agoda about some facilities at the hotel, staff cleared our problems and because we were upset, even gave us complementary leisure activities.Lovely place and people. Regards Dias
Fantastic experience: Hotel is classic, good rate, great breakfast, right by the water, was breezy and sunny. Will go again
Positive experience: Hi everyone. We stayed for valentine's weekend, wow.. for what we paid amazing. Yes the building is 'a grand older building'. Staff wonderful, couldn't do enough. We did stay in an upgraded room, shower powerful, tea tray in room and a few shower freebies. Go expecting value for money, some people are expecting 5* for budget £. The evening meal was buffet style saturday, was roast pork loin, beef stew, a curry or fish in cream sauce, plenty of veg. Forgot the soup or feta salad starter option. Dessert was basic cake with cream. Basic but good.. different menu daily... For a fixed price of under £20 for 3 courses. Breakfast was good too for £12, buffet too so help yourself. I had read reviews and struggled to decide but soooo glad I did. Carpark up slope opposite called CENTRAL car park £6.10 24 hours. Overall WE'RE COMING BACK soon. To the man recently who wanted a room with no windows because he's a light sleeper but accepted an upgrade with window/curtains please don't knock the hotel for the sun rising, I get that at home.
Positive experience: Nice hotel with very good prices for winter break
Fantastic experience: Beautiful hotel and right next to the beach and Bournemouth Pavilion. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious! The view of the beach and pier from my room was amazing. The shower was excellent and the bathroom was clean. The only thing missing were the teaspoons for the tea and coffee. Other then that, excellent room to stay in! The hotel is huge! Be prepared to walk around to get to your rooms. There are lifts of course, however, having heavy luggage can make the long trek quite the workout The staff here are lovely. The front desk Manager was very helpful with directing me to my room. I did not have breakfast here however if you would like breakfast, its £12 per person. There is a car park right next to the hotel which is £20 for 24 hours and you can pay via the RingGo app. The hotel does do a valet service for £25. I loved staying at this hotel and I will happily stay again.
Negative experience: The bargain room I booked was unavailable so I got upgraded. And charged double. The heating was fully on and the window is sealed closed. Sweatbox. No way of cooling the room or letting air in. No room service at all and food is unavailable outside the buffet hours. I wanted the small windowless room because I'm a light sleeper. Sure enough, I'm awake with sunrise at 7am. At least its clean and well positioned for pier and events. What was obviously once a luxury and hotel has been destroyed by bad business practices and cutting corners. You can see the style and charm it once possessed in the internal architecture and layout. Some of the AI reviews are hilarious. Look out for the one where the user asked for a 5* review and the entire reply from "certainly, here is your 5* review" has been pasted in also look for the mentions of the private beach which does not exist. I'm temped to dishonestly reduce the star rating to account for this, but it deserves its two.
Fantastic experience: We stayed at the Royal Bath Hotel for the first time and were very impressed. The hotel is very big inside, and its appearance is amazing. The lobbies are relaxing. Timur spoiled us a lot and gave us a beautiful room. We admired his service and helpfulness. We left our luggage and explored the beach. We will definitely return! Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Fantastic experience: Royal Bath Hotel Royal Bath Hotel Hotel in Bournemouth, I had a fascinating experience visiting a hotel with a special personality. Every time when I visit Bournemouth I stay here. It is a special hotel and the staff are always friendly and helpful. MrTimur, the front house manager a lovely man eager to help is also a plus point for the hotel. I would like to say Thank You & 5 stars isn’t enough for Royal Bath staff& hotel. The garden and the hotel have a particularly charming personality like an elegant lady with the scent of lavender and silver cane. Thank You Mr Timur& Thank you Royal Bath Hotel staff❤️! A & D. Mike guest room no.359
Positive experience: Great location. Vibe at the Hotel is hard to describe, during the day it is a pleasant place to hang with family at the lounge but after it gets dark some people become quite inconsiderate with others. Smoke smell in the rooms, but overall a good experience. Khato, one of the members of staff was very helpful and always going beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
Fantastic experience: Excellent quality hotel with a lovely well equipped bedroom and nice buffet food
Fantastic experience: Stayed here last week! View is absolutely amazing and the staff where very relaxed and welcoming. Certainly will stay here again
Fantastic experience: Certainly! Here’s a sample review for a five-star hotel: A Luxurious Escape – Truly Five-Star Experience From the moment I arrived, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The warm welcome from the staff, complete with a refreshing welcome drink, set the tone for my stay. The lobby’s stunning design exudes elegance and sophistication, creating an immediate sense of luxury. Room: My suite was impeccably designed, blending modern amenities with timeless style. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room featured high-end touches like plush robes, a pillow menu, and a breathtaking view from the balcony. The attention to detail was evident everywhere, from the spotless cleanliness to the ambient lighting. Service: The staff went above and beyond to ensure every need was met, often anticipating what I needed before I even asked. Whether it was the concierge arranging last-minute reservations or housekeeping leaving personalized notes, the service was truly five-star. Dining: The hotel’s restaurants were culinary masterpieces. Breakfast featured a lavish spread with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Dinner at their fine dining restaurant was an unforgettable experience—each dish was a work of art, and the sommelier’s wine pairings were impeccable. Facilities: The spa was a sanctuary of tranquility, offering world-class treatments. The infinity pool overlooked a breathtaking landscape, making it the perfect spot to relax. The gym was equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and the hotel’s private beach was pristine and serene. Overall: Every aspect of this hotel exceeded my expectations. It’s the perfect destination for anyone looking to be pampered in an atmosphere of pure luxury. I can’t wait to return and would recommend it without hesitation. 5/5 Stars
Fantastic experience: I had an incredible experience at this hotel and will definitely return.
Negative experience: Certainly the worst place I've ever been to a wedding. Service was reminiscent of Fawlty Towers and the maitre d didn't seem to know what a vegetarian was.
Fantastic experience: We spent new year here and we was blown away by the beauty in this hotel, so much detail inside, it is right by the sea and town, lovely and clean, towels and all shower gel and shampoo provided, iron fan and ironing board in the room. Lovely new year eve party inside the hotel if you did not want to go out into the town. New years day we sat in the lounge area and had a lovely afternoon tea only problem i felt the little cakes was tarnished by something strong in the fridge maybe just store cakes alone in a separate fridge. The scones came warm was delicious. Staff very friendly. Most definitely will be back in the warmer months. Keep up the good work everyone . We loved the little welcome gift of fudge and shortbread
Fantastic experience: It was simply fantastic to be able to stay at this hotel - staff were excellent and rooms were superb.
Fantastic experience: Great location and a wonderfully styled interior. Service was great as was the breakfast! Highly recommended! Sorry no photos of room!
Positive experience: Enjoyed stay ,but very disappointed that the spa area was closed ,that was the main reason we chose the hotel.
Fantastic experience: We had a spontaneous trip & had a great time. The reception staff were lovely & we were upgraded to a sea view room having booked a special deal. The room was spacious, clean & with the amenities we'd expect. The bar & bar food were good and fairly priced. We loved the old world charm & history of the hotel & spent hours in the welcoming pool & spa rotunda. We rounded off our trip with a pop next door to the fascinating Russell- Coates museum. Thanks to all the staff who made this a short but memorable stay.
Negative experience: Being approached on telegram by random accounts saying they will pay u to post fake reviews. Good marketing techniques trying to hide the fact your hotel has a 3 star . Shameful
Fantastic experience: Has a lovely 4 days in this hotel, Third time this year and would honestly be back in the New Year. Great Rooms Great Food & Great staff And also Great facilities I.e swimming pool ,Gym Could not fault this in anyway And would also like to put a Great review in to 1 of the Duty Managers for all he did Daniel Driscoll & Donna Joseph
Fantastic experience: Amazing place with wonderful people. We had a setback and it was quickly resolved. I certainly recommend it and will be back. I don't remember the name of the man who works at the bar, incredible service.
Positive experience: Went as part of a coach holiday 5 day hol over Xmas. Brilliant staff, lovely room - toasty warm with a balcony, food plentiful and all really nice. Central position, all in all a great holiday. Not so great for folk with mobility problems as lots of stairs even in the ground floor - a beautiful historic building so can’t be helped but does need to be highlighted. Would definitely return.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend it, very happy to stay at this hotel
Fantastic experience: Great stay and surprise booked by family great hotel would stay and book myself in future
Fantastic experience: Friendly stuff and the room I had it was beautiful and clean, I will definitely be back ☺️
Fantastic experience: Great hotel excellent value for money would definitely recommend staying here

Fantastic experience: Wonderful hotel! Staff very friendly! Service amazing!
Fantastic experience: in my opinion this the best hotel . the price and service is fantastic .
Fantastic experience: Good atmosphere reminds you of old fashioned hotels and great food would definitely recommend
Fantastic experience: I have stayed at this hotel about 15 times over the years. Bags of character! Best location in town. If is undergoing a substantial face lift right now. New carpets and furniture in the shared areas and rooms.
Fantastic experience: On of the best hotel around the place, must stay not gonna regret my review
Fantastic experience: Stepping into this hotel is like entering a sanctuary of comfort and elegance. Every detail, from the impeccable service to the thoughtfully designed interiors, reflects a commitment to excellence. Whether you're here for relaxation or adventure, this place truly feels like a home away from home. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an unforgettable stay!
Fantastic experience: What a lovely Hotel and people in it well looked after use and would definitely recommend see you again some time soon
Fantastic experience: It’s an amazing experience staying in this beautiful hotel, the service was top notch and the rooms were clean. I had the best time staying here. Will be back soon
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing stay, I no brittana hotels get a bad rep, but I enjoyed my stay, nothing was to much and the food was of high quality.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful breakfast . Really good location. And staff always on hand to help .
Fantastic experience: “I had an amazing experience at Royal Bath Hotel! When I arrived with my husband, who was recovering from knee surgery, we were initially given a room with many stairs, which he couldn’t manage. I spoke to the manager, and he promptly resolved the situation by offering us a much larger and better room than the original one. The attention, empathy, and excellent service truly made a difference during our stay. I highly recommend this hotel for its quality and care for its guests!”
Fantastic experience: Great stay! room was clean, food was good, staff were eager to help. Would visit again
Fantastic experience: Great place, Location and hospitality. A must stay if your In the area
Fantastic experience: Very good location, staff are so helpful and friendly. It is very refreshing to find such good staff in hotels. Room was good, bathroom good and view outstanding. Looking forward to going back in spring!
Fantastic experience: This hotel has brilliant facilities the staff are friendly and I really enjoyed my stay. I would come back again
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful stay at the Royal Bath Hotel! The location is perfect, just a short walk from the beach and local attractions. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure all my needs were met. The room was clean, spacious, and had a lovely view. Excellent value for money—I’ll definitely be back!
Fantastic experience: Lovely and spacious , staff are very welcoming and hygiene is up to standards well done everyone would highly recommend here to any family’s
Fantastic experience: This hotel is amazing! Has everything for everyone. It’s was great for my friends and I. We were there for a weekend in September, the weather was still quite nice then.
Fantastic experience: I had a weekend away at this hotel, had an absolute fantastic time. The food was fantastic, rooms were spotlessly clean. The shower was fantastic. The customer service from the staff was brilliant. Nothing was ever a problem.
Negative experience: all a big scam most of the ratings are fake they message people to rate there hotel offering money and after u rate it they block u and dont reply so dont waste your time going here the place is awful should be rated -5
Fantastic experience: This is the best hotel I've stayed in, within the UK. I would 100% recommend it.
Positive experience: Great location. However, the hotel needs lots of improvements. Bed is a really uncomfortable, very hard mattress. There are no power sockets close to bed. There's a kettle. However, the cable isn't long enough to plug in. the only way to use it is if you place on the floor (what I didn't try). Wi-fi is charged, and parking is charged. Leisure facilities are charged. Bedroom was big, but old carpet, old windows that allowed the wind to get in and make the room freezing (even with 2 radiators on).
Fantastic experience: My stay at the Royal Bath Hotel was EXCELLENT! The room was spacious and absolutely beautiful! It made mine and my girlfriend's stay so much more enjoyable, especially with the breakfast included! :) The service was not only excellent, but also efficient and fantastic at dealing with uncertain situations. I would like here to give a shoutout to Belle, the receptionist, whom handled a discrepancy with my booking in the most kind and patient way possible! While waiting, I have also seen her handling the entire reception area all on her own, she is a hard worker that is very calm under pressure! Thank you so much for all your help! :) Royal Bath Hotel is an excellent place to stay. Me and my girlfriend offer our best regards for when we will be leaving and warm-heartedly recommend it to everyone! :)
Positive experience: We stayed here for 1 night while a relative was in hospital. Reception on initial enquiry was not very welcoming and it seems strange that you cannot book at the hotel but are advised to ring an external line. The communal areas of the hotel were very nice as is the general building, they are having work done which is necessary but standards were fine. On returning to the room in the evening we realised there was no internet access and this was only available if paid for at £7 per device which feels excessive, the member of staff on duty was quite rude in his approach when explaining I needed to be able to receive important hospital calls, so be aware of this charge before booking. The room was adequate but the heating was uncontrollable and on all night which made it incredibly hot. The overall redeeming feature of the whole hotel and experience was Dave who was one of the managers, from our first encounter with him he made an outstanding impression, he was warm and attentive, with excellent customer service skills, he personally went above and beyond to assist us with any issues, even advising of the best priced car park which made a big difference and informing us of the hotels history. He was compassionate towards our situation and is a HUGE asset to the hotel. Without his input our experience would have been vastly different. He restored our faith in human nature at a very difficult time.
Fantastic experience: Just popped in to get out of the rain very friendly fantastic coffee and hot chocolate lovely seats the staff went out of there way to make you feel welcome Just for a coffee
Negative experience: Worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Bearing in mind the outside temperature was 1 degree. The heating was not on. No way to turn it on either. You can’t call reception because there’s no phone in the room. So go to reception but there’s no one there either. We could feel the cold wind through the shut windows. No noise insulation either. Our suite was just over the roundabout. We heard every single vehicle all through the night. The room was clean but the carpet is stained. A very cold and unpleasant night. Never again!
Fantastic experience: I just stayed here for my daughters graduation. The customer service was excellent. I could not fault that. The building beautiful and spa amazing so for the value on money I give it five stars. Shame about the expensive parking so get a train if your are able but other wise best hotel I have stayed in in Bournemouth
Negative experience: We had our wedding reception here and to be frank, they couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery The planning was so bad, it felt like they picked everything out of a hat five minutes before we showed up. The rooms are drab and dirty They couldn’t even spell our names correctly Avoid at all costs
Negative experience: The worst hotel I have ever step foot in. The outside, the lobby and the reception is lovely but the rooms? God help.. I booked this place for my birthday , 2 adults one dog. The room they gave us was very very small and smelly. It smelt like men deodorant and sweaty odour mixed all together. The window did not open. I guess for safety reasons its okay if it doesnt open all the way but it should be opened a little bit so air can flow out. The room was dark and smelly and my dog hated the room it was too small l, hes the type of dog who stays alone but he didnt stay in the room he kept barking. It wasnt a suitable room for dog and 2 adults so our plans were ruined I couldnt go out for my birthday because i had to bring the dog with me i am also claustrophobic and having no air flowing in and out made me feel very very very very uncomfortable. I paid extra for my dogs stay but they refused to give pet bowl or bed and for extra towels we had to be questioned? You expect me to dry him with the 2 towels you left for us and reuse it for myself too? Why charge extra? The room stank and the carpet was damp! Never coming back here again Been better off at carlington hotel
Fantastic experience: Stayed two nights with the dog, gave us a free room upgrade to garden view. Wonderful hotel by the beach and near to town. Yes it’s a bit dated but it’s near 200 year old! We will be back to stay any time we’re in Bournemouth.
Fantastic experience: We have just come back today and we are booking up to go back in may 2025 it was excellent only thing I would say is bigger rubbish bin x and when ya on holiday ya like to take pics and videos for memory's so as long as know one else is in the spa area you should provide a photo service for extra price I would gladly pay it would encourage people to use spa more xx but staff amazing
Fantastic experience: Stayed following some of the recent renovation work and had a lovely time. The historic building and grounds are absolutely beautiful. We checked in and made our way to the room which was small and a little cramped but comfortable. We got a good price for 2 nights and didn’t plan on spending much time in the room, we were made aware at point of booking that it would be a small and we didn’t mind. It was clean and cozy. We didn’t dine at the hotel so couldn’t make comment on the food services. There was a live singer in the bar on the Saturday night which was a nice surprise. The staff were all incredibly friendly and happy to help. We enjoyed the swimming pool and some of the other facilities at the leisure centre. Very good. After a swim we had some coffee and sat on the decking behind the pool building and looked out over the beach. Would stay there again next time we’re in the area.
Fantastic experience: Lovely room with freshly updated bathroom. French doors open onto balcony overlooking the hotel garden and the sea. Bathrobes provided.
Fantastic experience: I loved this place, felt right at home! If you like modern, plastic places, this hotel will not be for you, it has bags of character! And staff with personality's that can't do enough for you and have the time to chat if you are on your own. I agree with their policy of not having the rooms serviced every day, If you want clean towels, tea making items etc just pick them up from reception. Food is good if you like home cooked food and there's always a selection, 4 courses, £15 per person, not bad at all. Breakfast has plenty to choose from. We stayed in room 261 and had a beautiful view of the gardens and the sea. There's a charge if you want to use the spa/swimming pool and all transactions are buy card. We also had good entertainment every .night Fabulous
Fantastic experience: After the renovation, the hotel becomes more attractive, the bar offers the well-known and tasty Starbucks coffee. The service, from the reception to the bar, housekeeping and spa, is very nice.
Fantastic experience: From the moment we stepped into the Royal Bath Hotel, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality, thanks to the amazing Filipi and Dave at reception. Even though we checked in late around 10:30 PM, they went above and beyond to make us feel truly welcome. We had mistakenly booked a room without windows, but they immediately helped us upgrade to a room with an incredible view. Their friendly and accommodating attitude made all the difference after a long day of travel. The rooms were not only spacious and comfortable, but beautifully maintained. Filipi and Dave’s exceptional service truly elevated our stay—hats off to them for making this experience unforgettable. We highly recommend the Royal Bath Hotel and can’t wait to return!
Positive experience: Cheap hotel and was offered a free upgrade on arrival which was nice. The room was vast and relatively clean, bed was sprung but comfy enough. Towel rail didn't heat up, and the provided 'revitalising' shower gel oddly smelt of cooked rice.
Positive experience: Hotel in a perfect location with easy access to the pier and beach. The room was spacious, clean and had everything for a comfortable stay. Meals were hot and freshly made, however vegetables were limited for choice
Negative experience: Upon first arrival seems pleasant , reception barely polite , towels in room not clean , dirty / murky water from bath tap . We also heard constant arguments and shouting throughout the night which caused a restless night . Wouldnt return to this particular hotel again .
Fantastic experience: Beautiful old hotel , nice breakfast and the gardens are beautiful. Will definitely return.
Negative experience: Stayed here Aug bank holiday 2021. They charged us £1000 for 3 nights in an executive room which was old, dirty an had no opening window or air flow. Also refused to move us. The breakfast was ok. I couldn’t eat the sausage as god knows what was in them. If you get one of the rooms in the pictures though your on to a winner as it’s a great location!!
Positive experience: I really enjoyed staying here, was great to be welcoming by Madina hope I got your name right, every staff I came across were great. The location is fab and I like how close it’s from the beach and the town will definitely come back.
Fantastic experience: Our daughter had her wedding here last weekend, the Staff, rooms, gardens were perfect. Herself and her new Husband enjoyed every moment of it The main Kings Hall is a wow, ok the hotel is old but oh so quaint, Dave who greeted us filled us in on the history of the hotel,it was fascinating...and Tracey the wedding planner couldn't do enough for us the moment we stepped into the hotel. About 66 of us travelled from Ireland so it was a long journey but oh so worth it The Restaurants head manger & events mangers were brilliant(love ye to bits)and thank you for all your efforts, very much appreciated. Our bedroom had a view to die for overlooking the cliff/beach/Prom. Kindest regards, Jackie & Richie Dorgan
Fantastic experience: We got an updated room. It was beautiful. Beautiful for weddings. I attended a wedding here and it was fabulous.
Fantastic experience: I stayed in the hotel for one night and let me tell you it was an amazing experience. The previous reviews scared me a little bit before going but I was met with kind staff, amazingly decorated hotel, a colourful garden and good food. The breakfast and rooms can use a little bit of work, I think breakfast choices were limited and rooms were outdated but clean. Accidentally I found myself in the fire escape stairs, where it was very dirty. Rooms were clean, they were just outdated which is fine. They are big, reasonably priced and well-equipped. The staff were amazing as well, the gentlemen at the bar was very welcoming and attentive. All the reception staff was very friendly, shout out to the lady who didn’t let me down when I kindly asked for some slippers. Receptionist Madina was very professional and kind, she helped me during my checkout with my bag and the stuff I forgot in the room I had the chance to use the wellness centre, I strongly recommend! There is even a little cafeteria inside of the Spa. 10/10 would stay again.
Fantastic experience: This is a great place to go to. It's a big place. Rooms are big, the beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are very nice. I would definitely stop here again. Close to the beach, 20 minutes walk to the town, through a beautiful park setting with lots to do. I can't complain about anything, if I'm honest.
Positive experience: Antique hotel in a very good location close to the beach however no nothing is guaranteed by the hotel. There is no option to book parking (first come first serve basis), they can’t guarantee a good view to the sea even through you book a sea view room (you can end up to the side of the hotel which allows you a glimpse to the sea and that’s not what you really want and pay for). When trying to call the hotel goes to a customer service desk then they transfer you to the main reception which ends up with a dropped call several times considering the call is being charged per minute (we’re not in the 80’s, take some ownership for this please), if you finally get through they won’t be able to reserve a parking space at the hotel and guide you to park elsewhere (this you can literally do yourself without the hassle and waste of time). None of th Antique hotel in a very good location close to the beach however no nothing is guaranteed by the hotel. None of these (parking and room selection) are communicated precisely until you check in which in essence makes no sense when you want to plan your stay ahead. Overall the staff is kind and friendly so no improvement needed here, the opportunity stands for the hotel management who implement procedures and policies. The rooms have a heavy smell due to the age of the building, there is a brochure that explains refurbishment undergoing in that sense. Wifi - you can have daily access if you pay for wifi (I believe it was £7/24 hours) , this is also a thumbs down nowadays (tips: if you want to charge for wifi include this in the overall price fees so people don’t obviously pick on this or just offer it with the stay like a respectable business - a coffee shop where you spend £3 for a coffee offers it for free on a daily basis, think about it). Looking at breakfast - there is full English or cereal, oats and fruit. The terrace looks pretty nice, well looked after, a nice oasis to relax your senses listening to the sea waves. There is a chess board on a bigger scale just on the terrace, this if a nice setup and addition to the hotel vibe. Thank you for the welcoming, until next time look forward to your improvements updates.
Negative experience: The worst hotel which I ever went The room smells terrible ,every side of the wall was mouldy , 3 windows only 1 you can open 1/4 the rest doesn’t open at all Staff was very rude ( I’ll ask them to change the room they said “we can give you a smaller room but without windows or we can spray with nice smells ” even worse The lift doesn’t work and the price wasn’t cheap i paid around 400£ for 3 nights which even for free is not worth The breakfast was 7:00-9:30 am You going for holiday and don’t forget to put the alarm for breakfast, everywhere in until 12:00 am Never ever going back there
Fantastic experience: My daughter and 2 grandsons and I had a lovely time albeit only 2 days. The hotel is lovely. We swam in the pool and sunbathed in the beautiful gardens. Katy and i had breakfast which was delicious. Thank you to all the staff we had a great time and the weather was great too
Fantastic experience: It's not luxury but it's cheap, comfortable and perfectly OK. Don't know why everyone else complains about it. It is what it is. Go expecting the Ritz you'll be disappointed. If you want a hotel in the centre of Bournemouth right on the beach at a great price then this will suffice.
Fantastic experience: Our stay at Royal Bath Hotel was absolutely delightful! the historical charm combined with modern amenities makes it unique. The room was very welcoming and clean, and a good opportunity to detox from Wifi and internet. The staff are attentive and the restaurant buffet delicious. The stunning sea is very close by - We enjoy our the stay
Positive experience: Quite cheap to book the room but if you want to use any of their facilities it comes a cost. WiFi communal area free, WiFi in your room £7 a day. Leisure facilities £5 a day. Valet parking at £25 a night. Nearest car park is also £25 for 24 hours. Not allowed to eat in your room unless the food was provided by the hotel.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful hotel, great location, very pleasant atmosphere, very polite and helpful staff, amazing garden, lovely swimming pool. I'm very impressed of architecture. It's so beautiful diamond. I recommend this place. I will miss it.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time, sea view room, Phillip on reception was brilliant went for valley service for car, well located for beach, bars and restaurants. Food at hotel was fabulous and such a great find.we will be going back
Positive experience: First time visiting fantastic location food ok breakfast is great value we had the lexx room 143 over looking the carpark but still could see the pier and coastline
Positive experience: Sea view rooms have stunning views. The sound of the waves with the breeze right outside the room is just beautiful. Breakfast buffet is like any other hotel breakfast and dinner buffet is affordable although variety of food/drinks could be better. Nice selection of toiletries in the bathroom. Garden spaces are lovely with beautiful flower arragements. Outdoor space could use more care and the cleanliness of it should improve. Location is great, being really close to the beach. Be mindfull of car park space, it can get full quickly so other car park options should be considered.
Negative experience: There are more Cons than Pros for this Hotel. I paid £135 for a No window room (117), thinking about it I should have booked elsewhere as the rooms are down in the basement, so by default there is no WIFI or 4/5G or network signals. unless you pay extra £7 for the privilege. when paying so much and offering a high quality hotel I think WIFI should be included. The rooms down there are very dated no USB sockets on the power ? (even Travelodge has those now). however they were clean and the bed was comfortable. Again to pay £25 for parking is ridiculous when you can park up the road for £6. However they do let you know this. But I did book it based on parking I should have read the website closer. £5 for the opportunity to use a very old and outdated spa area smelly steam room and sauna big enough for 3 people. gym was tatty and outdated. although there was a good selection of machines to use. The hotel is very well located on the sea front 1 min walk and the staff are friendly. I would not stay again as I feel there are better hotels for the premium price you pay and you don't get a premium service. (maybe 40 years ago it was the place to go but not now).
Negative experience: The people on service were being rude complaining about every little thing that wasn’t risky or live threatening. At some points seemed like they were being racist. This was a very uncomfortable visit to the swimming pool and I would not recommend coming.
Fantastic experience: Only 1 socket by the double bed Have to pay for room wifi for 1 device and pay again for another device. Staff were nice and friendly, room was clean and spacious, shower was lovely! We didn't try food this time but hopefully come back We did do swimming which was very nice and cheap. Will definitely go again
Negative experience: Asian girl with glasses who works on reception gave me secondhand embarrassment from her behaviour & made it an awkward experience. Horrible and disgusting attitude in all honestly. Creepy guys standing outside the hotel showing their private parts to each other. Rooms are outdated and stuffy. Don’t bring your kids here. Only good thing there was the gentleman that helped us with our bags to the room, he was very pleasant and should honestly be given a raise in order to put up with working at such a establishment & that lady with glasses who looks like shes never been able to get the concept of professionalism or good customer service. Hotel is trashy couldn’t pay me a million pounds to stay here again. I’d rather be across the road with the homeless people that congregate at night.
Negative experience: The room smelt like an animal had urinated in there and make it 1000 times worse as there were no windows in the room for ventilation. The room on its on was very old and outdated making it a very unpleasant stay. Paid £165 for ONE NIGHT only and this is what we got in return. The duvet and pillow case were also filthy! Had a lot of dust and hair. On top of that you have to pay for wifi and the signals aren’t also very good. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
